cancellation of noise in a room acoustic

Hello world

I have this project that will make use of an acoustic room, we will test a speaker to display its frequency response.

I am generating a signal chirp through my DAQ to be fed a speaker - and the microphone will acquire this signal.

The VI I created will display the frequency response of the speaker (dB SPL vs frequency).

However, we want to make sure that we get the least possible noise present in our room. We want to cancel these frequencies (background noise) in order to have a bandwidth that is only produced by the speaker output. How can I cancel these frequencies to achieve my goal.

I agree with GerdW. If the noise is truly random, it is almost impossible to remove after the signal acquisition.  If your noise is an interfering signal, such as the hum of shrill of a fan or power supply devices, it might be possible to subtract the background. However, and the variation or drift of the frequency or the amplitude of the interference with the time, cancellation much more difficult.

Acoustic absorption material will also reduce the effects of any reflection of the sound from the speaker inside the room. These materials works very well, is not too expensive and last long, as long as they are not used.

  • Adjustment with exposure adjustment brush cancels the noise reduction

    Hello

I just noticed the following problem:

    (1) camera Raw 6.5; Bridge CS5 (4.0.5.11); Mac OS X 10.6.8; Mac Pro 3.1; Dual Quad-Core Xeon; 8 GB OF RAM.

    (2) start with a loud raw file (mine is a Canon 5 d II).

    (3) apply to noise reduction (luminance: 30;) Detail of the Lum: 75; Lum contrast: 0; Color: 25; Color detail: 50).

    4) go to the adjustment brush and set a nonzero exposure value.

    (5) apply the brush to the image and notice the effects of the noise reduction to disappear (noise returns).

    6) click clear all button to clear the adjustment brush and the noise reduction works again.

This seems to happen only with brushes of adjustment with a nonzero exposure value (application of brightness or other settings do not seem to produce the problem).

    Anyone else seeing this?

    Thank you!

There are a few known issues with the exposure setting local leading to overall appearance of the image changes, especially in the highlights.  The problem with the noise should already resolved with the ACR 6.6 release candidate (RC), currently available.

  • iPhone 6s more 'Phone noise cancelling' setting Grayed Out

I have a 6 more than 128 GB iPhone running iOS 10.0.2. I can't activate the 'Phone noise cancelling' setting in settings > general > accessibility > telephone noise cancelling because it is grayed out. I have attached a screenshot for reference.

I've tried hard restart my iPhone (Home + Power button) without success. Any help is very appreciated! Thank you.

    Hey there, Stephen Bond,.

Thank you for using communities of support from Apple! I see from your post that your iPhone more 6s on iOS 10.0.2 does not work as expected because the cancellation of noise from phone toggle is grayed out. I'll be happy to help you.

First check to see if the hearing aid Mode is enabled in settings > general > accessibility > hearing aids. If this option is enabled, then telephone noise cancelling will be grayed out as you describe. If this isn't the case and that the option is grayed out, please continue.

  • Re: Delay Microphone Equium P200

OK, that's how! I'm a DJ of the Internet, and I use different bits of software both broadcast my shows and do things like create jingles etc.

When I try to use the microphone to do anything that involves it broadcast over the speakers, I get half a second or if the delay between talking to me and the sound coming speakers! Any software I use (and I went through all the configuration options for each piece of software, so I know this isn't an any of them).

Anyone got any bright ideas? I'm tearing out what little hair I have left, come out in clumps!

    See you soon!

    Hello

    You have Realtek audio driver?
If Yes, then you should have one installed Realtek HD Audio Manager in the control panel.
    Please check the settings there.

In your case, I recommend you to reset the settings, digital output and the microphone tab you must activate the acoustic echo cancellation and noise suppression.

Audio driver should be updated as well.

  • Satellite L755-1NM - built-in microphone out fading

He's tried to call Skype, only to discover that the other person was not at all hear me. Checked the settings of the microphone in Skype and the parameters of the device, and the microphone is about not working not properly.

What happens is that whenever I start anything that can use the microphone (so, when I call, or when I check the settings of the microphone), it works for a short time, but, in a few seconds, just flatlines.

As a way to illustrate, I recorded my voice making a constant sound on [vocaroo | http://vocaroo.com/i/s01hJV8kLaMP]. What you hear is my micro detect noise and fading then out, ends up losing any sound detection.

I think this could be a hardware problem, because I did not bring any changes to the software that may have affected the microphone. In fact, just some time after I found this question there, I reinstalled the drivers and it has not corrected. In this case, I guess the only option is to send my laptop in for fixing (which I would rather).

In addition, he was still perfectly working about 2 or 3 days ago.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I assume you mean on the internal mic, which is part of the webcam.
Have you tried an external microphone?
The same problem appear using this external microphone?

I think it would be useful to know that, because in this case, we would know if its hardware or software (setting) related question.

You can also check some settings of microphone that is located in:
Panel of-> sound-> recording tab-> mic (right click, properties)

In a new window (mic properties), you can find tabs more as levels, improvements, advanced

In the levels tab, you can change the Microphone Amplifier.
On the upgrades tab, you can disable all effects as well, you can activate the acoustic echo cancellation and noise suppression

I recommend you test check and try different options.

  • Satellite L300 - 14G - Microphone volume of very poor quality

    Hello

    I have a satellite L300 - 14G. I would use a microphone.
When I connect it to the front, the quality is very bad.

If I pushed it there is a lot of background noise.
If I don't push it I have to talk REALLY loud to make myself heard.

    Hello

    Using the external microphone?

Please check the settings in the control panel-> Realtek HD audio Manager
There is a tab named Microphone.

You'll find called settings: acoustic echo cancellation and Noise Suppression.

In addition, you can increase the volume of the microphone at a higher level.

  • Issues retentivity helmet

I just got my PDP Afterglow prismatic Wireless Headset today. I was really excited, until I started using it. I hear a hum of my right earphone noise only when the helmet is not plugged in to charge. I had read the reviews and others have had this problem, but some don't. I guess I decided to chance it. No one knows what may cause the problem to this annoying sound?

Guess... It is possible that the issuer be sensitive to something nearby, such as a case or the room, fan in the case of ROAR. Various issues of "land" can cause a hum.

When connected to the charger there is a more direct path to "land" or the completion of the circuit, which could cancel the noise.

Could just be the USB connection. Have you tried using a rear panel USB instead of front USB?

-I also see in a review for these phones that 'all' (maybe he's referring to "in this price range"), wireless headphones have a slight problem of snoring, but with audio and video here

is much that is subjective about this kind of defect.

In this review, he mentioned that the noise was not apparent when the audio started, then others

may not notice or consider this a problem during "silent".

-Headphones quiet when you use one of the wired option?

If the noise is pretty apparent, while the show is on, and the problem continues when connected to

a different system and location, then the phones/issuer is maybe defective?

  • A natural vocal sound

In this example, I removed the noise, and that a 90% normalize.

What I need to know is possible to create a natural vocal sound?

The speakers voice against nature in this recording - sounds as if it is expressed in a room empty...

    Let me know, thanks!

    https://Vimeo.com/109933253

In order to save a natural vocal sound you need to have the microphone in the correct position and reasonable acoustic room. You can't fix it after it is saved from the acoustic room is already part of the audio signal. In your clip, the microphone is too far from the speaker. This means that it captures a lot to a lot of noise from the room and noise. With her closer to the mouth of speakers (about 6 to 10 inches) registration should be greatly improved because the voice signal will be much stronger the acoustics and also you won't need probably to no noise reduction.

  • Tecra S11 - low sound level

I recently bought a S11 and as a former owner of the Tecra line, I was very disappointed with the Audio level. I realize that the S11 is a Business and not a multimedia machine, but I have to sit nearby and make sure that there is no noise in the room to hear the speakers edge.

Is there a way to fix this? Even 50% more audio would be a huge improvement.

    Hi Pman,

I m not a Tecra S11 owner but I can't imagine that the sound level is so low that you described.

What program to use for listening to music?
What type of files you have more music?
    What operating system you have?

I can recommend the player media VLC media player. That s a tool of freeware that is really great and the audio plays and empty files.

Make sure also that you have higher and you are trying to update the audio driver.

  • Improve the Camileo S10

    I bought last year a Camileo S10.

There are two not good question.
Light sensitivity: with plain day I work well, but with the clear desk light or unclear orrible. is it possible to upgrade?

Optics: it is quite a narrow profile. Is there a possibility of change in a broad vision.

    Hello

    > Slight senility: ordinary day turns I work well, but with the office light or unclear orrible. is it possible to upgrade? Light of senility: with plain day I work well, but with light light desktop or little horrible light. is it possible to upgrade?

Unfortunately, there is no upgrade to improve the sensitivity to light.

But I must say that it is not a question of camcorder I put t know camcorders how much you had in the past or if you have experience in the use of these camcorders but fact is that all of the camcorders in this price range would produce excellent images in a bright environment. But you'll notice a kind of noise in dark rooms or the environment.

If you want to get better picture in theaters, then you need to buy camcorders in the range of price superior > $700, but you still won't get the same quality as using the camcorder in a bright environment. So I don't know if the rise in prices would be furious if you do not use these cameras for profesional use...

I have a S30 and it's good enough for holiday movies...

    Welcome them

  • Satellite M305d-s4830 - mic makes strong crunches

I'm trying to video chat with my girlfriend on the computer. She has a Satellite M305D-s4830 with a built-in camera and microphone. His microphone seems to not work properly. There is loud cracking which makes it extremely difficult to hear. Skype maintains also, display a popup telling him that there is a lot of background noise.

It makes noises regardless of whether it is expressed or not, or ether there is a noise in the room. To do this, however, seem to be worse when the laptop is resting on his knees.

We are looking for to rid this terrible noise from the mic. Any suggestions? Is there some sort of software that allows it to calibrate the microphone at all? Or it's just bad?

Say here, do a right-click on the speaker icon in the task bar, select recording devices then go to properties of the mic as default set, adjust volume, max the volume settings settings then add 10% boost, that's what I did when I had a problem similar with Skype. In Skype say here to go into the settings options and then audio and make sure that the right device is selected under microphone then save, everything should work ok now.

Bball 1561 also, I have a problem and I was wondering if you could help us, recently, I reinstalled vista for the same laptop computer which you gf but I couldn't locate the drivers mic, so I was wondering if it would be possible if you could ask you or your gf to send me a copy of the drivers that they are not big so they won't serve time to send

  • My phone suddenly stopped waking up when I get a text

Out of the blue today, my phone stopped 'waking up' when I get a text message or wickr.  Yesterday, it was perfectly fine.  Nothing is different.

I have reset or shut down the phone and that didn't help.   Is there anything else I can do?

    Thank you

What do you mean by 'waking up' If you want to give a sound so if you have your 'Low battery' mode so that cancels the noise to help your battery. If not then go to 'Settings' and click on sounds and make sure that the volume button is in place all the way. -Jon

  • Detection of sounds

Does anyone know if there is a VI to do this

I would like to leave a microphone connected to the computer and if there is a noise in the room make a value Boolean true.

    any help is appreciated

This example is only by pulling a single value out of essentially a periodic table.  This will give very inconsistent results.  Joined a VI that can best work for you.  Run it with no noise and a threshold of a few hundred to get the normal background of your room.  Multiply your bottom close to 10% or 20% to add a little padding, then this set for the threshold.  Run and it should work.  Since you are looking for a pulse, the analysis is a simple measure of Ridge to Ridge.  If your background noise is very long, you can replace this with an effective measure to give you more noise immunity.
