  Please note Windows Easy Transfer is a migration in one way and you will not be able to restore the original settings.

  I suggest to format the drive, then run Windows easy transfer on your computer.

• Migration - 20 hours counting and transfer Assistant: what should I do?

  I try to spend a MacBook air with 10.7.x, a Macbook 10.11.x 2015.

  I checked on the Mac site for instructions.  It seemed the only option was to use the wi - fi: ethernet not available on either and no suggestions I could use the stroke of lightning; Time Machine, it is said, only works for 10.8.x upward.

  It all started very well but I'm now waiting for 20 hours on, and it seems stuck.  There is no indication of the time (the other posters say their transfer is indicated in 9 hours or 6 hours or 1 minute remaining - there is no indication on my Macbook...)

  I checked the internet for hours to see what to do.

  Some say yes, cancel the transfer, others say wait.  Some say to restart the process using Thunderbolt and target disk Mode.  Others seem to suggest Time Machine works - I've never used Time Machine then it would be an experience... There is nothing to tell me if I need to 'clean up' my new Macbook.  All that I can see a person gives to think I have to set up a new user account.  It seems some action Ethernet or Thunderbolt have also long delays.

  I'll have to make a manual transfer - I'm afraid that because every time that I have done in the past my Mail didn't work properly.

  It's all so frustrating - by for the course, I guess.  I had the Macs for more than 20 years and am still having problems with transfers (and many other things) often because the instructions are not correct - or don't tell you everything you need to know.

  As others have suggested that I would wait but if after a few hours, the remaining time does not change, simply cancel and manually transfer with target disk mode and a USB device.

  It's a pain, but it is a secure way to transfer your data.

  It is likely that the partially migrated information will be corrupted. In your case I would like to cancel the migration and try again, this time by connecting your Mac to your router (not PC) using an Ethernet cable, either directly, or through an Ethernet switch.

  You can connect two Macs to another using the Ethernet cable and you can probably do the same thing with a PC, but I can't guarantee that it works.

  Edit to add: it is also possible that the partial migration is usable, and it just stuck on something unimportant. If you cancel the migration and the Mac seems to contain all the information you need, consider that it finished.

• Lenovo Z50; questions

  I recently purchased the Lenovo Z50 - 70 (i7, GT 840 M 4 GB, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB + 8 SSD cache)

  I use it as stationary with the battery removed. I have no intention to use it with the battery in the future. Should I have the Manager of energy for anything? Four power settings ready to use it seem to only change the volume of my fan. Only with the saver of energy-mode the volume is OK. Even in the 45 degrees Celsius, the fan accelerates quite much and varies up and down annoyingly. Can't even imagine how it would sound if I used the laptop to the games... I noticed one thing though, is that the Module Windows Installer Worker Aspire sometimes closer to 30% of the processor. Then the fan accelerates really, and starts to whistle loudly. And once I tried to transfer and convert video files to my phone and windows of copyright - thing almost killed my laptop. The fan continuously at full speed, I had to cancel the transfer.

  The Lenovo so-called system update does not work with the laptop? It basically says that my phone is not taken in charge.

• Files lost in an interrupted copy / paste

  Hello! If someone could help I would really appreciate, I am hopeless with computers:
  I moved my library of music from an external hard drive to my new PC and thought I hit skip when asked to confirm a replacement file. Must have hit Cancel, the transfer has stopped and now have no idea how to find and retrieve files. They are not in the original folder, or the folder target. It seems they are on my hard drive somewhere because it is about 50 g it is not previously in the properties, but I can't find them in a folder, or by searching the computer.

  You know what you try and do is to do a search for one of the titles of the songs that you have been a match for the external hard drive to your PC. For example, let's say that it's the Rolling Stones Start Me Up. In Vista, click the Vista logo button (don't know if it's called the start over button) and type in the box search in Start Me Up. If it's on your PC as you think, and you are probably right that the music is a place, you should see where in the results window of research resulting.

  Here is a link to the latest OS for the Q10. Everything you do is download the file, it will be a .rar file, so you will need a tool for decompression like 7zip to unzip the .exe file. Then connect the Q10 and run the .exe file and it will update the operating system. Need you more time to download the different file in order to install it, too. It takes about 5 minutes to load the new operating system.
