  Recently, I removed a physical host to a virtual appliance of vCenter Server and am not able to add it to vCenter Server because I get an error message on the existing data store.  I run a simple server vCenter environment with two physical hosts and shared storage.  I've only been administering vCenter for a few months, so I'm relatively new on the technology and processes.  I searched the Internet for a few days now, but have not found documentation everyone has the same problem I have (which I find strange considering the simplicity my problem and configuration), so I tried to get help from the community of VMware.

"  I try to remove the host data store, but get the following error message: "resource" data store name: datastore_name VMFS uuid: UUID' is in use. ".  The error stack said: "'HostStorageSystem.UnmountVmfsVolume' call failed for object 'storage system' on ESXi"IP address"."  Cannot unmount volume ' data store name: datastore_name VMFS uuid: 'UUID' because the file system is busy. Correct the problem and retry the operation. "I tried to delete all virtual machines of the inventory, put the hosts in maintenance mode, restart physical hosts, but none of my troubleshooting contributes.

  I don't know what steps to take to get this data store driving with the host so that I can add it in vCenter Server.  You can provide me with any help is appreciated.

  Good thing you already moved the VMs on.  For what is 'disconnect', 'remove' or 'delete' might work anyway.  You should maybe put the host in maintenance mode or even reboot the host before you can remove data warehouses.  In an extreme case, I even had to remove the host and the hypervisor installed completely rebuild on the spot.  It is not that difficult or does not take long to reinstall, so be not afraid on this subject.  A clean reinstall could still save time compared to the deletion of data warehouses.

• Deletion of snapshots to recover from data store space

  The OMI 30 GB should be enough. When you delete the snapshot with the virtual machine, a snapshot of assistance is created, which will consume disk space necessary for any change, even if the current snapshot is being deleted more ~ 4GB for the snapshot file (.vmsn).

  With the virtual machine off, you will not need any addiitonal disk sapce. However, you won't be able to turn on the virtual machine again, until it's finished!

• Flat VMDK files after trying to delete files from data store

  Images must be in the correct format specifically for ESX (i). You can try to use the VMware Converter Standalone tool to add the images. He can take care of the conversion of otherwise incompatible images.

  That's all I can help you.  These instructions are based on the Perc 5 / i controller, which I think you have on our system.  You have not specified the server so I just assumed that this is so.

  1. unscrew the hot spare that you just made.  Follow this link from Dell.

  This link has three steps to void, skip the step on "spare parts of designate hot."
  a. create the virtual disks and select virtual disk options.   -Online steps to create another disk group and add the new disk to the disk group.
  (b) designate the drives hot spares (optional). =>, YOU CAN SKIP THIS STEP
  c. initialize virtual disks. -online must do.  just do not initialize the incorrect disk.

  After the step #2 c, you should be able to access the drive in ESXi or command-line (list of nmp esxcli devices).

  And no, you cannot add this manaully until do you step #2 above which is to define the disk group, creating virtual disks and initialize the virtual disk.

It can only be seen if I create a new virtual machine and choose the drive as a system disk. However, then do not start. The vmdk file did not come with a configuration file.   I assume that you have only the "die" vmdk file, not the smaller descriptor vmdk which explains why you can see in the VI Client (the descriptor file is what you actually see when you search a VMDK file, not the flat file / data file) once you've imported it. If the file came from Vmware Server or Workstation, it should still have a file descriptor with it - without it you are stuck. If you don't have two files, I'm not sure you can convert using Vmware convertor - you must try this one by yourself according to the previous tips.

  You can try to recreate the VMDK descriptor for the flat file. There is a VMware KB on how to proceed:

• Cannot add new bookmarks.

  I'm using Firefox 34.0.5 and recently discovered that I can not add new bookmarks. A keyboard < Ctrl > d does nothing. If I click on the star to make a bookmark, I see the animation of the star wheel above the bookmark icon and turns blue in the process. But after the animation is completed, the star is colorless and no bookmarks appear in the "do not sort" or any other bookmarks folder.

  I have Firefox "Reset" by the option "restart with modules disabled...". "menu of aid, but has not helped. I do not use any addons "bookmark".

  My PC is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. He has 32 GB of memory and a 256GB SSD as drive MBR (C).

  I recently made a copy of a hard drive virtual server ESXI 3.5 and Infrastructure customer.  The copy looks like to she went through fine and I can see the files via customer infrastructure both through the console.

  Oddly enough when I go to add the VMDK file copied to a new hard drive on a new virtual machine can't see the VMDK file in the file browser.  I tired this add manually to the vmx file but still no joy.

  instead of dragging on the tones folder, I usually play the ringtone after what I did to a m4r, this way file, it will automatically to your tone folder in iTunes.
