    Hi Bart,.

    We are here to help.

Well insulate your concern, we need to collect the following information:

    1. Did you do the changes on your device before this concern?
    2. You have connected your device to a different network?

You can start your machine in Safe Mode with network and includes the network drivers and services that need to access the Internet. You can also use the System File Checker to repair system files missing or damaged that may help solve your problem.

If you have exhausted the above options, you may perform a clean reinstall on your Windows 7 device and check if it works.

    Keep us informed.

  • Satellite L505D-S5986 - trouble installing Ubuntu using live CD/USB

Hello everyone I need to all emergency assistance and the ubuntu community.

I am a passionate user of Ubuntu, and I used it for a year. My old laptop got crashed when I flashed the bios.
Now, I bought a laptop TOSHIBA L505d-S5986 which has amd athlon 2 dual core M300 processor and an ATI Radon 4100 video card.

I had enormous difficulties to install ubuntu when I put cd/usb live that it took a long time to start and when he got this gel inside the BONE.
Then I tried fedora but even this work force well he got in the same problem freeze!

I searched and found that its due to the acpi:lnxvideo error:' exit unexpectedly with a status of 0 x 0009.
This has also given in this thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1301101

Then I put the acpi = off in the grub boot menu and then added to the gconf and now ubuntu works. But the system monitor shows a processor to use (again due to disabling acpi I guess) and of course when I remove her dosent Ubuntu power dim screen and dosent show no sign of the battery.

All the guys and linux developers please post a solution for this equipment module.

Some Fn keys work well, as bridhtnes, sound... but Fn + F8 to toggle wireless is ignored.
I read a lot about this problem, but none of the proposed solutions have worked for me.

Is anyone able to toggle through Fn keys on linux wireless?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

In this story, it's that your laptop is not designed for Linux and, as far as I know, Ubuntu is not supported OS Toshiba doesn't offer any driver or Toshiba tools and utilities.
In General, you're on your own. If Ubuntu works well, you are lucky, but if there are a few features missing, I m afraid you must live with it.

For Win7 Toshiba has designed the value-added package that contains the utility of technical support button, flash cards and all the options of the FN will be controlled by several different tools packed into this package.
This PPV doesn t exist for Linux.

Try to ask some experts to Linux on Linux forums if there is a solution for this.

    Hello

I'm in dual boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu Lucid Beta on my new Edge 13 "(Intel). I have problems with the sound: things work in W7 but on Ubuntu I don't get sound from the internal speakers, even when headphones are connected. In fact things worked at first, until I hit once the button mute, reactivate after I started having sound from speakers and headphones at the same time, and then for some reason, no noise in the headphones. I tried to change settings in its preferences, but not luck.

Can anyone think of what could be the problem? Why is it all started after actionning the mute button?

    Thank you!

Moreover, apart from this problem, Ubuntu works very well on the edge.

I solved the problem by adding this at the end of the modprobe.conf file:

  • Re install Windows 7 on Ubuntu 13

    Dear all,

I have a Pavilion laptop, G6, which was loaded with Windows 7. I recently tried to have Ubuntu 13 alongside my windows. I'm unable to start Windows 7, but Ubuntu works very well. The process of starting Windows can not find the DRIVE.

I tried recovery and complete facilities of Windows, however, the process stops at the stage of Pharmasset player for Windows as the installer is unable to find the HARD disk drive. Now, I decided to have only Windows 7 and I want to know the steps involved in the HARD drive to NTFS format and assign the letter reader etc..

    Your help is very appreciated.

Use the built in recovery partition to restore the windows, if the partition has been made inaccessible as a result of the installation of Ubuntu then see step below to create your own installation DVD. Note that the method of the "recovery Partition" includes drivers of devices needed for your PC to function properly, however, if you use the installation DVD, you'll need to download device drivers and install them manually.

How to make a 'Keyless Install"of Windows:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD disc, you create and launch the installation.

After you have entered the user name and password that you will be asked:

Also located just below the box where you enter the key is a box with a check mark
to "Automatically activate Windows when I'm online", remove the check box and click "next".

You now have a 30-day grace period to activate Windows.

During the grace period, you can install your device drivers,
run Windows updates and solve other problems or issues.
Once you are satisfied everything is working properly, and then activate Windows.

    Cause

This problem occurs when the dhcp3 directory does not exist on the Ubuntu virtual machine. VMware Tools is trying to create a file in this directory, which causes the failure.

    Resolution

To resolve this issue, create a symbolic link to/etc/dhcp dhcp3 or create a dhcp3 directory if it does not exist.

    Hello.

will be the last 10.04.1desktop ubuntu works well on Wmv 5.5.9? (VMware installed on Cel 2.66 GHz with 2 GB RAM)

The first version of Workstation to officially support Ubuntu 10.04 is Workstation 7.1, there will probably be problems with the old version.

When you create a new virtual machine, it is possible to specify the size of the drive, GB - whose size would be perfect for Ubuntu?

Of course, that depends entirely on how much space you will need.  If you are testing just, then as little as 10-15 GB should be fine.

Also, should I tick boxes 'Allocate all the space now' and 'split the drive into 2 GB files?

The separation of 2 GB is a good option to use.

Another question: I currently have a virtual machine that is running Win XP. As I see my virtual network settings, I have two virtual cards installed: VMware Network Adapter VMnet1(Host-only) and VMware Network Adapter VMne8 (NAT) that has been configured by default during the installation, I did not. Should I have allowed this two adapters? Or adapters only need one? (and resources)

No doubt will be one is enough, you can choose the one that makes the most sense. If you do not need to leave the host with network traffic, use VMnet1.  If you have to go out with network traffic, then use VMnet8 or bridge connection (which is probably VMnet0).

    Good luck!

  • Problems of network with Ubuntu 10.04

    Hello

I've been running vmware on Ubuntu 9.04 for a while with no problems (host Ubuntu 64-bit with 2 guests, 1 32-bit Ubuntu and Ubuntu 1 64-bit).

I've recently updated my Ubuntu to 10.04 and ran into problems with vmware, I followed the instructions here (http://www.marcosorfila.com/site/?p=380) and managed to get Ubuntu works with VMware 2.0.2 and my guests are here. Everything starts fine, except that I got the Firefox issue with the console. To work around this problem, I can connect to the console using my computer laptop windows and Internet Explorer, so I'm happy on this front

My network uses NAT and it worked well with older versions. If I connect to the console on two comments I ping the host or guest, but for some reason, my host cannot see my guests. I spent the last 3 days, google search and I can't find anything to indicate how to solve this problem. The two guests are versions of server with no windowing capability and I normally rely on ssh access from the host, but it does not work either.

My host is using a wireless internet network interface and this includes the IP 192.168.1.3, subnet of VMware is on 192.168.194.x

Can anyone offer any advice to get access to my guests from the host?

    Thank you

I managed to find a solution to this. I need to use a patch different than I used initially. Details can be found here.
