  • Equium A100: CD/DVD drive wont read - D:\ error message is not accessible

    Hello.

My cd/dvd rw drive will not read certain DVD/CD-ROM. I bought my equium (A100 I think) laptop, nine less than a year ago and have had this problem since I got it. The disk which do not work on the laptop work fine on another pc / dvd players, if the disc is not defective. At first I thought that it would be a driver issue because some of the disc worked fine, so I never got the laptop back to the store I bought.

A message appears "D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error".

I recently just got internet installed in my house and I went to the toshiba site to see if there are newer drivers that would solve this problem. I downloaded a bios update and an update of dvd ram and installed, but am still having the same problem.

Can someone help me cause am totally stuck on what to do now.
    Thank you.

In the user manual, you will find a list of supported CD and DVD

    (1) DVDRAM CAN READ CD AND DVD EASILY, IT Burns CD WELL, BUT cannot burn DVDs, IT SHOWS: G:\ IS NOT ACCESSIBLE INCORRECT FUNCTION, UNTIL IT WORKS WELL. the blank dvd is not a problem, before I used even type a blank dvd to burn.
    (2) even allow the recoding in the properties, the properties shows the Virgin dvd 0bytes.

all PROMTLY ANSWER would BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

    It doesn't sound good.
I had a similar problem of combustion and the end of the story, I replaced the drive ;(
However, try to remove the drive from Device Manager, and then again to restart the operating system should recognize the device again.
Then you could check if it able to burn the DVD s s.
I think you should also try burning different DVD media.

I have visited many work sites and the reader, and especially the calibration lens malfunction could be responsible for burning problems.
This could be a worst case and in this case, the replacement is necessary.

  • Latitude D610 - able to read discs, but cannot burn

I have a laptop Latitude D610 I use for business purposes.  Once a month I have to burn word and Excel files on a disc to send to our customer.  Last month I went to burn and the drive is no longer burning the files to a blank disc.  I tried several discs, I also tried to reinstall the drive.  Today, I replaced the drive with a laptop replacement, we have on-site.  I'm still not able to burn.  Most of the time it will not detect a disk if the disk is empty.  Discs with the media are read without any problem.  Any ideas?  I want to get this working so I can't keep my boss for burning the computer loan.

All other discs with media work very well.

  • "Windows Media Player cannot burn the files to CD" error while burning a CD

My Windows Media Player says "Windows Media Player cannot burn the files to the CD. Check that the disc is clean and not damaged. If necessary, select a slower recording speed or try a different brand of blank discs.  I have burned several CD from Windows Media Player in the last year.  I used different brands of CD, since I first saw this message, but it continues to give the same message.  Whenever the burner starts to burn, I get this message.  What is the problem?

Thank you for answering my question.   I understood the question.  In the burning options, there is a tab file types.  For some reason the appropriate boxes are not selected.  The burning process has led me to believe that I had a problem of burner or CD, while he was in fact the options.  Thank you once again.

    2. turn off the volume apply upgrade across tracks on the CD check box and then click OK.
    3. try burning the CD again.

  • Error when you try to burn a CD: Windows Media Player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait until the current task is complete. If necessary, check that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver

Windows Media Player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait until the current task is complete. If necessary, check that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. ???

I just burn a CD with no problem at all.  Using the same type of CD, brand new, I tried to burn another CD and got this error message:

Windows Media Player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait until the current task is complete. If necessary, check that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver.

I close all programs running, restarted my computer, changed on the devices tab, the speed of burning... everything I know to do and all the things I've read in these forums, no luck... still get the exact same message.  No idea why my CD-writer has decided to stop working for me?

  • Windows Media Player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait until the current task is complete.

Original title: CD corrupts and burn it

When I go to burn a cd with the music on this topic in windows media player, it starts very well. When it gets to 70-80% it stops and a window opens with this message.

"Windows Media Player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait until the current task is complete. If necessary, check that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver. »

There is nothing burn but these files. I made sure there was nothing waiting to be burned. I closed all the other windows. I lowered the speed at which it burns. Nothing works I've looked up online. WMP is updated too.

I can burn files very well. Photos and documents, I have a problem with. It cannot therefore the CD burner (not completely, anyway). I can listen to the songs on the CD where it suddenly stops.

If anyone has had this problem, a solution would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Cory,.

This problem can also occur when your computer correctly detects the disc as a non-recordable device. Make sure that the registry key is set correctly for DVD player.

CD - R or CD - RW drive is not recognized as a recordable device (valid also for Windows 7 steps)
