Cannot change region DVD

I changed regions on wmp in region 4 (AUSTRALIA) for region 1 (US) to watch a dvd. He said 4 changes are allowed before getting locked. As this was the only one the first time I went to come. Now I'm trying to return to the region 4 (Australia) and it comes up with an error stating

"Unable to update region setting. The drive reports that it requires media of the destination (region 4) Please insert the right setting and try again"

I tried to change with the region 4 dvd in and out of the laptop but still get the same error.
I checked for updates of pilot etc.

Tips greatly appreciated

Hello

Maybe you have a second hand laptop and the first owner was already changing the region code who knows?

But in this case you can do nothing. Only, you could try to reinstall Vista, and then try again.

  • Cannot change region DVD on the Satellite settings

    Hello

I'm not very savvy but im having a problem with my computer settings satellite phone in computer science.
I changed the region of the DVD 4 times and am changing for the last time again to region 2.

However when I do this it says that I have no administration privileges, but I am the only user on the computer and, therefore, the administrator.

Anyone know what I can do to get the player to change the region. It is said that there is a change to the left, but do not allow editing.

    Any help would be useful.
    Thank you
    Katie

I didn t do all the experiments with the evolution of the region, but it is really strange, you were able to change it without any problem and now all of a sudden you need administration rights. It is also possible that the last time the passage of the system not fail that it will be granted by the administrator and because of that there is this security alert.

Try a new account with the Fund Administrator rights and try to do it again.

  • cannot change region on the App Store after the cancellation of the apple music membership

I can't change the country on the app store after the cancellation of subscription music apple (turn off auto-renewal), still getting the same message "To change stores, you must first cancel your membership of Apple's music"

    Hello, TanBrar.

It seems that you are unable to change your country on your App Store because you always get a message to cancel the Apple music, even if you have already done.  The following Knowledge Base article provides clarification on the manner in which the process of cancellation of Apple's music ends:

Manage your membership Apple music on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC

Disable the automatic renewal, cancel your membership

If you wish to cancel your subscription of Apple's music, turn off the auto-renewal.

Your membership may be renewed if you don't turn off your automatic renewal 8 hours or more before your renewal date.

On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

    1. In the music application, press your profile icon in the upper left corner.
    2. Click on View Apple ID. You may need to connect.
    3. Under subscriptions, click on manage. If you have more than one subscription, type on your membership (membership of music Apple) to see your membership options.
    4. Under renewal Options, disable the automatic renewal. Confirm your selection, and touch done.

If you don't see the option to disable the automatic renewal, your subscription will automatically stop at the end of the current billing cycle.
    5. Press done to return to the screen of your account and then press done to return to the application.

As shown in the image and the description of step 4, the subscription stops at the end of the billing cycle. After this date, you should be able to complete the change of your App Store:

Change your iTunes Store country or region

"DVD region change error: unable to update the settings in the region." The drive reports that it requires media of the destination region (region 2) Please insert a suitable medium and try again. »
Any ideas?  Of course I changed the region successfully before, but according to the window change region, I have still 1 change left.

  • Qosmio G30: Cannot chang area settings DVD

I have a G30 and seem to have reset the dvd region using Qosmio rather than Windows MC.
When I try to reset the dvd Windows MC of the region (back to region 2) says that there is a change remaining but then won't let me edit, informing me that I have the media region wrong in the drive (I have not) or well I don't have administrator rights (me).

Where have you checked the disc region settings?
Have you checked in the properties of drive or somewhere else?

In my opinion you have already used tries to change region and change is no longer possible.

  • Error when you try to play a DVD: Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because the disc prohibits playback in your region of the world. You must obtain a disc that is intended for your geographic region.

    copy a group of photos w/music (Smilebox program) on dvd;

After following the instructions of SMilebox to burn "images set to music" on DVD, to the attempt of DVD playback, I got following error message: Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because the disc prohibits playback in your region of the world. You must obtain a disc that is intended for your geographic region.  We live in the Washington area. I didn't know that DC was considered an unusual geographic region?

    Hey nongeekbetty,

The DVD is encoded for a different region. Most DVD readers only works with DVDs that are coded for the computer was purchased in the same region. So if you buy a DVD in one country and then try to play on one computer from another country this DVD could not play.

    Step 1:

Make sure that the DVD region is set to the appropriate region:

    a. Click Start.

    (b) in the search box, type Device Manager.

    c. right-click on the DVD drive.

    d. right-click on it and select Properties.

    e. make sure that the region will be resolved.

    For your information:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/playing-DVDs-in-Windows-Media-Center-frequently-asked-questions

    Step 2:

Also temporarily disable User Account Control (UAC) and check it out.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-user-account-control-on-or-off

Note: Activate it once you are done with the check.

Strongly suspect one slightly out of the drive of alignment that must be replaced.  Ideas before ordering a replacement?

    Hello

Check the automatic run settings in the control panel. Ensure that the measures to be taken when optical media are inserted represent the media format type that you create.  You can check the box at the top to use AutoPlay for all media types, then select the action for the particular media format.  Be sure to save the changes.

You can also consider using Imgburn to read and write to check some media to see if you actually have some hardware issues. ImgBurn will also appear to what types of media are acceptable for the optical drive.

It is also possible that the media you use is of a lower quality.  I prefer the Verbatim. It cost more but I've never had a problem with Verbatim.

If your PC is under warranty then contact HP support. HP support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.
