Cannot create FCPX libray on my airport extreme

While trying to create a library (version 10.2.2) FCPX on my Airport Extreme, this message appears:

"Type of volume not supported. Choose a local or a location of SAN.

How is it?
Is there a solution without buying new gear or erase all the stuff on the airport?

MMedia readers must be connected locally. How are you connected to the airport? It is used for Time Machine?

I just got a new hard drive to use as a driver for my file sharing. It appears on the Panel of readers. but I am unable to connect. I can not find? Can I get help?

What is the make and model of this drive? I guess that you have connected it to AirPort Extreme USB... correct? What is the drive formatted as: HFS +, ExFAT, NTFS or something else?

The disc has been recognized on the tab of the AirPort disk utility? Have you activated (check) the "enable file sharing" option on this same tab?

  • Cannot connect new wireless J4680 to Airport Extreme 802.11n

    1. I first tried hold as usual several times.  The installation wizard is not 'see' my wireless.  Tried to reset wireless from the camera, without result.

2 follow the steps as shown in the video 'YouTube' of HP.  Was once able to proceed to the point to get at least a "Page of Network Configuration" report printed which indicates success in adjustment in "ad hoc" on its network "hpsetup" mode, but then can not pass the airport network in infrastructure mode, input on the webpage of embedded devices.  (But now I know at least IP address theJ4680.)

    3. usually not found "hpsetup" automatically listed as a network on the airport.  Can sometimes become there by configuring manually via the J4680.  But this method will not always work.

    4. based on a different view (a person using Windows, Fios), tried to temp - disable my security at airports (a WPA2 Personal), but who have no positive effect.

5 J4680.  Airport Extreme 802.11.  Mac OS 10.5.6.  No firewall that might interfere.  My MacBook is the only device on my Airport network.

What else should I try?  Thanks in advance for any other tips/techniques that y ' All can provide.

It works! It works! It works!

Basically, I had to wait for the weekend to go home, so when I did, decided to just approach it all completely 'clean ':

    1. uninstalled the J4680 driver-->

2 do you have a factory reset on the Airport Express-->

    3. configured reset Airport Express-->

4 reinstalled the J4680 driver, using one that I had downloaded earlier (instead of the Conference on Disarmament) to make sure that I got the version the most recent-->

5 turned on/turned off everything (to reset): MacBook, modem, router, printer-->

    6. then simply followed the implementation of HP guests-->

It works! It works! It works!

  • How to create a network redundant ISP failover using 2 Airport Extreme

    Hello friends,

I have 2 different lines of rented ISP related to my Airport Extreme 2. Was curious to know if these 2 AEs can be interconnected somehow to create a network of ISP failover. Users on AE 1 traffic would be transparent reassigned to the AE 2 and vice versa, if corresponding ISP fails. When the access provider is in place, they will return to their AE in elementary school.

    Thank you.

Not without a smart dual wan router. That is to say done good load sharing.

Extreme is about as simple a router you can find... He has the absolute minimum of functionality.

Users on AE 1 traffic would be reassigned transparent to the AE 2 and vice versa

You can do this by using some manual intervention... a simple change of entry door is usually sufficient.

  • The Airport 5.6.1 (10 Windows) utility cannot find Airport Extreme Base Station

I have the Airport Extreme Base Station (model A1408) model.

I'm under Apple Airport Utility 5.6.1 on Windows 10.

    10 Windows Firewall is disabled.

All of my WiFi devices, including my Windows laptop, 10, all work fine on the wireless network, and the light on the base station is green.

Life seems good... EXCEPT, when I run the utility Apple Airport (version 5.6.1) it says it's "impossible to find wireless Airport". Clicking on Rescan is fixed not. Power by bicycle to the base station doesn't fix it. It worked before, so this is the behavior seems to be somewhat intermittent. Lately, it doesn't quite work. So I can't reconfigure my base station.

Is this a known issue? Y at - it a known solution?

First of all, understand that the AirPort for Windows utility has not been updated since Windows 7. It 'works' on later versions of Windows, including Windows 10, but is not designed to work with the new 802.11ac base stations.

We'll see if this utility is installed correctly on your computer.

For Windows 8, 8.1, or 10, AirPort for Windows utility will work have two applications listed in the window Apps & features: 1) airport & 2) Hello.

    • Move or delete the file next to the C:\Windows\System32 folder: c:\windows\system32\dnssd.dll (Note: this is the Client Hello library and is required by the utility AirPort.) If this file is missing would be the main reason that you aren't able to find the base station. However, even if it is present, it cannot be properly registered in the Windows registry. In other words, Windows is concerned, there is no.)
    • Download AirPort for Windows install.
    • Run the Setup program by using privileges "Run as administrator". (Note: If you have the option to repair or uninstall, choose the option to uninstall.) To complete the uninstall process. The Hello application should now be missing in Apps & features list.)
    • If you do not dialogue to repair/Uninstall window, then let Setup install AirPort for Windows in its default folder.

Then, make sure your computer cable or wireless network adapter is configured for IPv6.

Now, try to access the base station with the utility again.

  • Cannot print with HP6840 since I added the password to the Apple AirPort Extreme network

I recently added to my Mac Airport Extreme network WPA password protection. While I can access the network from my computer, I can't print a HP6840, one of my two wireless printers, even if there is no problems prior to the addition of password.

I can always print to my old HP LaserJet 6MP using an AppleTalk-Ethernet bridge and managed to reconfigure my second wireless printer to work with the new password.

    I already tried the following:

Uninstalled/reinstalled the original CD and more recent software/drivers HP printer

Tried to printer configuration using the Ethernet - half thanks looking for printer, received an error message "Communication error with a printer" and the installation process has failed.

Checked: Safari bookmarks / Hello: printer does not appear

Computer and the printer turned off and restarted the computer

    None of these attempts succeeded.

Any suggestions on how to restore my wireless printing?

    Thank you.

Mac OS 10.5.7 iMac with Intel processor

I spent 3 hours on the phone this morning with the HP Technical Support. While the call cost me $35, it's probably money well spent. After trying all kinds of approaches to installation, we finally concluded that the villain was probably the combination of personal WPA2 to authenticate password on my network and the inability of the HP6840 printer (now almost 5 years) to support WPA2. Tech said that WPA2 wasn't around 5 years.

So I have two options: delete the password completely and let my unprotected network, use a WEP password (which can create an Apple AirPort and the printer can recognize) or try a WPA password. However, it seems that the airport offer only WPA-Personal and WPA Enterprise, while the printer does not seem to accept the WPA.

Even if I don't really relish change passwords again, it seems that WEP is the way to go.

Hope this helps those trying to install old printers on the new networks.

  • Airport Extreme will not read Time Capsule trying to create network roaming

I have read all the forums on that alone and became frustrated. I am creating a roaming network for a time at an airport extreme capsule. I followed the directions of countless times without success. Time Capsule is set to DHCP and Nat, while the extreme is in Bridge Mode and has the exact same name and password network settings. Now, I have to say that the ethernet cable connecting is extremely long (well over 100 meters) and I know that the connection will degrade, some, but my lap top is able to capture the signal when I connect it directly to the cable coming from the time Capsule, so I know that the cable works. In fact, this is how I am writing this post right now! My problem is that the Airport extreme will not even read the time capsule at all. Can someone help me please? A friend told me that I might have to configure the router second to accept the connection at a slower pace? I don't know what that means. Sorry to be a pain.

has the exact same name and password network settings.

Just to double check that you mean the password and the name of wireless... not the base station name and password the names of base station must be different.

Now, I have to say that the ethernet cable connecting is extremely long (well over 100 meters) and I know that the connection will degrade, some, but my lap top is able to capture the signal when I connect it directly to the cable coming from the time Capsule, so I know that the cable works.

To the limit sometimes the gradient exceeds just slower... it does not connect.

If you check the laptop goes to the Advanced preferences network ethernet to the last tab has the speed dropped to 10Mbit? The extreme is not able to go as low automatically... and unfortunately there is no controls for the later models.

    What model is your extreme?

If it's a Gen5 or an earlier version... you can use older airport utility to set the speed of the wan port. This feature is removed from models later, of course... and the AU later so does she. If you can go try it using full duplex 10mbit. If that works try 100mbit full duplex, but you might find it's too fast.

A friend told me that I might have to configure the router second to accept the connection at a slower pace?

Your friend has a good idea.

I would have cut the cable in the middle... and put an end to both ends. Then place a switch on the line (not a router). A switch is a bit like an amplifier. It is to retransmit the signal so it can go another 100M...

The other issue is on pairs... If you have installed this cable yourself and terminated yourself you were affecting the pairs?

Ethernet is delicate to the wire because of its origins as the wiring phone... where the Center pair is for the phone.

MacBook won't connect to the Internet via long cable?

Here is a very similar problem to yours... was bad ethernet endpoints. Break the pairs at your own risk.

  • Airport Extreme cannot connect with KoboAura ereader and Beloit airplay 12 speaker

Airport Extreme cannot connect to KoboAura ereader and a speaker of 12 airplay of Beloit.

If this is not the case, already, try to use a network name that does not contain any special characters or use spaces. For example, if you use "this network of MY #is ^ ss NETw0rk," change to something like: thisismynetwork.

See if these two devices can connect now. They can?

  • Cannot set the Airport Extreme to extend the existing network

Network WiFi of my holiday home is provided by the router from my ISP (Time Warner). I have an Airport Extreme, which used to be configured to provide the WiFi network to another well, and I would use it to extend the existing on the TWC router network.

I had a lot of trouble to do a factory reset on the Airport Extreme, but I'm sure I managed (by turning on with the pressed reset button) after several attempts. At least the extreme doesn't show signs of the old network, he has provided.

When I try to set it up in the Airport utility, he wants only to create a new network. If I click on 'Other Options' and select 'Add to an existing network', the next screen is titled "This Airport Extreme will create a network" and prompts to enter a new network name and password. (Specifying the name of the network current generates an error because the network already exists, as I expect for the creation of a new network.)

Any ideas on how to tweak this Airport Extreme by extending a network?

    TIA,

    Doug

P.S. I have reviewed plugging extreme in one of the TWC router EtherNet ports and create its own WiFi network (with the advantage of adding support for 5 GHz), but the last time I tried I lost all connectivity; I'm afraid that the ISP network might protect against too broad network, although the glitch may have been a coincidence. If anyone has experience/ideas on this alternative configuration, I might be willing to try again.

AirPort Extreme would not be able to connect using a wireless connection and to extend the wireless network of the ISP, but if you can connect the AirPort Extreme to the ISP using a permanent router, wired Ethernet cable, then AirPort Extreme could be used to provide broader coverage of wireless in this way signal.

  • The settings DHCP Airport extreme & NAT - cannot change default of NAT IPs?

    Hello

I'm trying to configure Airport extreme, the most convenient to use for our office.

    Our Office IP is 10.255.x.x

When I'm trying to Setup DHCP and NAT, in NAT options, there is only 10.0.x.x, 172.16.x.x and 192.168.x.x

How can I get NAT to have 10.255.x.x?

Without the NAT settings, I can not get this Airport Extreme to assign valid IP addresses and so unnecessary

Sorry, but Apple will only accept the 10.0.x.x addresses to be assigned by the AirPort Extreme.

  • Airport Extreme cannot connect to 1000base t

    Description:

Hi all.  My ISP is Cox Communications in the South of Louisiana.  I am currently subscribed to get 200 Mbps download speed.  I have an Arris Surfboard 6190 cable Modem.  Ethernet is connected to an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11ac, who then goes to my iMac (2011) as a high school Apple Airport Extreme 802.11ac (network extension).

The problem.  Modem guard fall signal forcing me to reset the modem about 3 times / day.  Level 2 of Cox support said I need set the local IPv6.  This modification of the parameter stop the Modem from falling (in the process to test this now).

2nd problem.  My iMac, nor either routers Apple will connect higher than 100base T.  I can see it in the utility network on the iMac.  The support of Cox who sees so.  However, when I connect the Airport Extreme directly to the Modem, Cox support can see that it is a Gigabit device, but after a few seconds, he is down to 100base T.  If I try to manually connect to 1000Base T on the iMac... it will not connect.

Is there something that I am missing in my settings on the routers or the iMac?

It is known of problems between all a single serial port SB modems and routers from the airport...

There is no solution... or is defective, but they hate just each other.

The best solution is the replacement of the modem or the router.

We have been recommending the brand zoom but with Cox even modem that can not solve the problem... so I recommend a different router for now... a cheap... it will work quite low-end... TP-Link WR1043ND v2 or v3 for example... It is aprox $50 on Amazon. You can still use the airport bridge and work with Mac protocols for wireless AP.

Normally, you could fill the AE to the new router, but you can give it a more active role... See the static IP address.

  • HP OfficeJet L7780 802.11 g - why it cannot find my Apple Airport Extreme?

I bought a HP officeJet L77380 all-in-one printer/fax, etc. It is designated in 802.11 g I turned the radio network / wireless 'on '. When I choose Network/Wireless Wizard I get a rotating cursor and the message «Search» router wireless... "and he never finds anything. "I chose my Airport Extreme Radio Mode Setup: 802.11n (802. 11 b / g compatible). It still does not work. Help! And a Happy New Year in this Discussion Forum.

I downloaded and reinstalled the current driver.  It works fine when it is connected to the Airport Extreme, even via an ethernet cable.  I posted this to the talk of HP and they told me to contact the Apple Support! (this shows how useless this company may be!).  I also spent an hour on the phone with HP support and it turns out that they put me thro' for their expert XP and there weren't available Mac technicians.  Well - it's Saturday night!

Just to be clear, you're saying your L7780 is unable to discover your network wireless printer Wireless Setup Assistant?

BTW - I run a 802.11n Airport Extreme wireless router at home and my HP wireless printers work fine.

I would like to see the report of internal connectivity of the printer.  Press the < configuration > and <># keys simultaneously.   Analyze the report on a memory card, copy it to your PC and post the image here.

The connectivity report will give me details about your wireless network and the networks in the region.

Also, what other wireless devices you have connected to your network?

    Best regards / Jim B

  • How to fill Airport extreme wth my DSL router

I am interested to buy an airport extreme and I currently have a DSL WiFi router. can I fill my current setup and then copy it into the new airport extreme, and then turn off my WiFi in my DSL router? in other words, I wish the Airport extreme to be the main WiFi, I hope I'm supposed?

You cannot copy between dissimilar model routers.

And there is absolutely no reason and without having to turn off the current router wifi and every reason to leave it on.

The extreme must be in bridge including the Apple Installer mode to remove the wireless of comments. So I encourage you to just run two wireless networks... (there bandwidth to run 3 without causing problems).

Create the wireless on the extreme with your own new values wireless... and you connect some Apple devices you want.

But you can do what you want... just use the existing router SSID in the airport and use his password... However, this can cause problems for clients who expect a single Assembly and find that they are connected to something unknown.
