Cannot detect the boot device after factory new HARD drive format

First of all, I have a HP Pavilion G6 I bought in December 2012. Yesterday, I decided to make a new record HARD to upgrade and start over. It is a hybrid SSD + HDD 1 TB of Seagate. It installed without a hitch, and I used my HP recovery CD to make a factory disk formatting.

He finishes, reboot, but instead to restart the HP Windows 8 installation screens, he goes to what looks like Windows 8 course mode with a box containing the date, time and he said something in the sense of 'Installing the driver HP diagnostics' with an OK. By clicking on that or didn't disappear, and there is a command line bar in the lower left corner of the screen.

The screen becomes a HP screen that begins to install the drivers. It ends and restarts to a black screen that says "no boot device not detected, please install OS."

I did a disk check and that's fine. I swapped my reader, and it loads fine. In fact, it's what I use now for this type.

What could be the problem here? The boot order has never changed in the BIOs. If it was the faulty connector I doubt he would charge the reader who was always in the computer. Load disc newly formatted in an external case indicates that Windows 8 is indeed on this subject, but on a 93GB partition even if the disc is 1 TB.

I'm in a stalemate here, and nobody seems to know what to do!

It was indeed the hybrid propulsion system. I exchanged for a normal HARD drive and resetting factory completed without a hitch. It was the mistake on my part! I never guessed it would have been the problem.

As I said it is a mistake to standard hard drive to Dell machines, who tells you that they do not have or go.

Once replace you a hard drive in this State.

You cannot start Windows if you can't do a backup.

You can try this, but no warranty if:

    Saving your files:

You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

Or, you can download Knoppix > make a bootdisk to > start your system with it (IF your material is all work) > and copy your data from the hard drive like that.

  • How to use the photos saved on a new hard drive after a hard drive failure?

My external hard disk drive is crushed when I imported and saved my photos to Lightroom.  The Lightroom catalog was not on this disc.  I had saved pictures.  I copied the photos and the structure of accurate records on my new hard drive.  Just use the 'Find all my files' option in Lightroom?

    Thanks for any help.

    Thank you!

It worked, but my structure is as follows:

    Photos from Lightroom

    2004

    Jan

    Feb

    2015

    Jan

    Feb

In Lightroom, only individual folders appear.  I have nearly 100.  Is it possible to change the display, so I only to recreate a link to the folder Lightroom Photos instead of each individual file?

  • How can I reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive?

I strongly suspect failure of hard drive on my old computer XPS 420. Data recovery isn't a problem. However, because the way I too lazy to buy a whole new operating system, is possible that I can transfer the installation of Windows Vista on a new hard drive? I told me that Dell will send me an installation disc to do, but how to make a record like this, and is there another way?

I'm thinking of ghosting the HDD on another and the use of the recovery for nuke partition in a new facility, but it would even work?

    Thank you

    SnarfTCat

The simplest method, I prefer to install a replacement hard drive, is to clone the existing hard drive to the new, that will also transfer all applications and programs.

You need an imaging utility, similar to True Image Home 2015.

    http://www.Acronis.com/homecomputing/products/TrueImage

Acronis resize partitions transferred to match the size of the new hard drive.

Hard drive manufacturers, also have their own free cloning software available, but it can be used only with their hard drives.

First, install the new drive as the secondary and the image of the main hard drive in it.

Immediately after the cloning, shut down the system, switch the data cable [SATA port 0] to the new disk, making the new master hard drive and see if the system boots properly.

Start the system with only the new hard drive connected.

Be sure to leave the original drive disconnected, until the new hard drive is working to your satisfaction.

Before cloning a hard drive, make sure that the existing drive has no corruption or virus on it, because they will be transferred to the new hard drive.

It will take a second SATA data cable, there should be a spare connector to SATA power inside the housing.

What is obtaining a disc from the Dell operating system Vista OEM [If Dell still copies of this available media], but you can be out of luck unless you have a warranty from Dell, but it's worth a try to see what is happening.

If you reside in the United States, or the Canada and are the registered owner of the computer, with an active warranty, a disk that contains the operating system specific to your system factory installed can be requested HERE.

Note: Dell may impose a charge for the disc.

If you do not live in the United States, contact the Support from Dell, which is located in your country.

  • How do we install the operating system on a new hard drive?

    Hello

I thought all I had to do was use my recovery disc supplied with my notebook, but while the laptop was working fine for a few days there is now an error message when I try to load windows, something along the lines of "image error, check the Setup disk.

    I did something wrong?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

Installation on the new HARD drive is very easy. All you need is Toshiba Recovery disk and you must boot from that disk to begin the installation. Everything is done automatically and factory settings are restored to the new HARD disk.

  • Satellite A100 PSAA2E Setup hangs after connecting new HARD drive

    Hello

I have a problem with TOSHIBA Satellite A100 PSAA2E (3 year old laptop)
I bought the new SAMSUNG SPINPOINT 250 GB SATA (model HM250JI) hard drive.

After connection, the computer hangs on the first screen. I can't access the BIOS Setup (press F2)
I can't boot the CD of form (I can't select same drive to start by pressing F12)

    It just hangs.

When the HARD drive is unplugged I can access the configuration of the BIOS or boot from CD. When the original hard drive (FUJITSU 40BG) is connected, everything is ok.

I updated the BIOS to version 1.5 to the a more recent 2.6, but it did not help.

HARD drive runs under windows xp, when connected by USB port. It is formatted with NTFS: a primary partition(15GB), a stretch with two logical partitions (20BG, GB 215).

You have no idea where could be the problem?
Should I format hard drive in a different way?

    BR,

    hosss

    Hello

Check if your new HARD drive has been fitted with a small jumper that controls the master/slave/c-salt settings.

A friend of mine bought a new HARD drive and BIOS didn't recognize because the rider has been set to the wrong position.

  • No input signal after installing new hard drive

SUP guys, im need help, my hard drive on my computer has stopped working, I'd get an important flasher hits and it looks like it please insert a disk and when I did a diagnosis, I had hard drive errors I went and bought a new one.

In order to take the old one out I had to remove the cables from the hard drive, the big white thing that plugs into the motherboard, the processor fan and cable.

I put in new hard drive, put everything back as it should and when I boot it all im getting are no signal input on my screen, I have tried on 3 different screens and got the same thing.

Here are some pictures of the inside of my computer:

If you notice the VGA thing on the 2nd picture, should no more added to it? I mean in addition to plug the cable from the monitor, I have the impression that there should be something added to the back of it, I just noticed now, the computer and the screen worked perfectly before.

It's a HP model number is a6655f, it came with vista, but after putting in the new HD, I intend to put windows 7, I have a copy of it.

I guess with the new hard drive and I am I was right assuming that you have already installed windows 7

Sounds like you need drivers for the drive, and sounds like a simple problem, download drivers and install I believe that when you install windows 7, it offers you the possibility of drivers installed.

Oh and you could try to change SATA to IDE in the BIOS and see if that helps

    Hey Buddy,

To be honest, it's really hard for us, users, to say what causes this problem and I think you should test more yourself

Anyway, you have reinstalled Windows using the Toshiba Recovery disk?
You should also check if all Windows updates are installed and if you have yellow exclamation points in Device Manager.

  • No sound after installing new hard drive

I recently installed a new hard drive for windows XP and I installed all the updates of windows updates. I plugged in an Altec speaker system exactly as I did before, but I can't not all sounds.

When I click on "Sounds and Audio devices" in the Control Panel, I see "No Audio device".

I tried all the troubleshooting options. I think I need to download new audio drivers, but I can't figure out how to do this.

Any help or advice would be appreciated!

There could be a possibility that you may still need to download additional software.

Perhaps, your motherboard has audio drivers available at their homesite or perhaps your sound card as well.

However, if you have a brand system / pc, and then click on his homesite and look for the model number for the available downloads and updates.

  • How can I reinstall the window 8 for a new hard drive?

I just got a new hard drive for Dell to replace the old, which is at the top and about to fail (according to the Dell diagnostic tool).

Reference Dell included a record called 'Restoration of Windows 8 for Windows 8 64-bit products Support'

I'm a layman, but can certainly replace the hard drive. What exactly should I do it (step by step, if possible) when I turn on the computer for the first time with the new hard drive in place. The disc should already be in the optical drive?

    Thanks, Alex

There is not much to be done in any real particular order really.  It won't hurt to have the disc in the drive the first time that you start with the new player connected, but even if are not the worst case, you get a "no OS on this disc, press ctrl + Alt + Del to restart".

When start you, you may need to press a special sequence on the keyboard like F2 or DEL or Escape to boot from the CD. He can say so on the screen, or it can just try first default (likely) CD.

In any case, once you start from the CD, it is a wizard from there. Simply press 'next' and 'agree' and all that jazz to what Windows 8 is installed back. Then search for updates & restart for the next 4 days :)

  • Problems opening Captivate 7 for Mac after installing new hard drive

    Hello!

My HDD recently crashed and I need to install a new hard drive (OS x El Capitan, version 10.11.13) on my mac. They re-installed Adobe Captivate (I use Adobe Captivate 7 for Mac), but now the software and files that I created using the software will not open. Initially, I received an error message stating that I had to install a new version of Java, but even after I did it, it will still not open. I click on the link in the finder and it bounces on the taskbar at the bottom for one second, then disappears. I tried to restart the computer, but it does not help.

Can anyone help? I need it immediately for work!

    Thank you, Ashley

I suspect that the reason is the operating system. Even the Captivate 8 was not compatible with El Capitan, I doubt that is the case with CP7. Only CP9 is compatible with El Capitan.

  • Creating image of the system partition to a new hard drive FACTORY_IMAGE

Sorry if this has been posted before...

The neighbor in its Pavilion's hard drive is dying. I can access all the files on the partition FACTORY_IMAGE, but not the primary partition because of hard drive problems. He did not make a recovery DVD/CD set. I have the drive plugged into another computer. Is it possible to recreate the DVD recovery since the FACTORY_IMAGE partition with the damaged main partition and hard disk in another PC? I am aware that he can order replacement from HP discs, but it would be nice to slap a new hard drive in this weekend and bring it to the top and running. Thank you.

He has proved to be easier to reintall windows, then the drivers from scratch.
