  I'm sorry, but there is no version of Acrobat available for iOS so far.

  You can simply use Reader to view PDF files.

  Please also note that based on the system requirements listed by Mandeep is quite possible, you may encounter wrong with the installation of Acrobat 8 under Windows 8.  Microsoft has made several files and print driver changes structure starting with Windows Vista.

  You are able to download other files? What operating system and browser you are using?

  You can examine the network traffic in your browser. Each browser is a little different but here is an example with Chrome. In the Chrome menu, choose View > developer > Developer Tools. A window will open in the bottom half of the browser. Click the network tab, and then try the upload of file action. You'll see a bunch of items but should receive a POST call with a return code 201. Here is a screenshot:

  

  If an error occurs, you will see a different return code. Eventually, you could see no return codes at all.

  So please reply with your operating system and browser and a screen shot of what you see. Let me know if you can download another file as PDF file. I am also pleased to see instructions to do that with another browser if necessary.

  My apologies for necroposting, but I just wanted to say than this absolutely saved my life!

  Elaborate a little bit and make it a little bit clearer:
  If you have shared the folder/file in question, go to your task manager and go to your 'services '.
  Right click on "WMPNetworkSvc" and stop the service (it will take a few seconds).
  Try to delete the file, if it doesn't work, try to search in the descriptions and stop any process that has the word 'sharing' in there.
  Be sure to re-enable the services once the file has been deleted!
