  There are three fields in the logon dialog box:

  Username
  Password
  Report server

  Report server field is the URL of the BEEP engine that you want to connect, such as:
  http://localhost:9704 / xmlpserver
  (and others in the past that you have connected via a drop-down list)

  I used localhost because I have it on my laptop. Could use the name of the computer/server. Note the xmlpserver part, it is not xmlpublisher that you have in your attempt.

  I don't understand the other two problems that you encounter.  If you please would explain what they are and what, if any, error messages that you receive.  Also, what antivirus do you use, and you run Windows XP SP3?

  Go to the Device Manager (hold the windows down and press Pause/break) and look for a direct entry for the card reader or possibly an entry of "unknown" USB device Uninstall the card reader or the unknown USB device (RIGHT click on the device and then click on Uninstall LEFT) and then restart the PC and start Windows it should detect and reinstall the card reader. Uninstalling/reinstalling fixes several issues of device.

  BTW - my suggestion has not changed.  I still think that you get just around issues that still exist, probably, by fixing the little things you need at a given time.

  Here is a workaround that you can use if you cannot get the recovery disks, to work, since you can read your Vista product key...

  If you are in a fault light but rewarding you can do yourself if you can read your product key of Vista on the PC of 25 characters.

  You just download the 3 files you need on the link below and read all the instructions to create a Setup bootable DVD disk using imageburn.

  Do not take into account the part of the text in the first screen shot about "extract the files in the folder of Vista."

  The files were extracted already in this folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screenshot.
