Cannot modify only directory attributes of reading, all the readers all the directories.

Original title: cannot modify only directory attributes of reading, all the readers all the direcotries.

For some reason now all directories are read-only. I have a check only reading tab, it goes through the process of change in all files in the subdirectory (I put their scrolling), click ok. But when I go in the directory again that reading is only check again. It is on my C: dirve all directories and all the other readers, including empty directories. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi SdS49r,

I would like to ask you a few questions to better understand:

(a) you connected to the administrator account? because you do not have the \n(Assurez-vous if you are not in the administrator account

(b) don't you make changes on the computer?

(c) have you created the file read-only?

(d) what message do you get while changing the read-only attribute?

(e) have you been able to change the attributes previously in your computer?

You can scan your computer, then follow the steps in the link: http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Try the system restore, it restores the computer to its point earlier while it was working fine.

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

Hope this information helped!

Thank you, and in what concerns:

    Once you sign up and pay, you must download and install Adobe Acrobat Pro. Looks like you open your pdf files into the free Reader still.

  • Cannot modify headers... when using OCI_Lob-> writeTemporary

    Hello!

    I use an installation of PHP4 came installed on the Oracle application server. The php page responds to an HTTP POST request and inserts the content of the request body into my database using oci8. I would return a 200 HTTP header if the insertion of the database succeeds, or 400 if it fails.

    However, I run into error "cannot modify headers...". "where the header block has already been sent before that I try to put the status code. The culprit seems to be a function OCI_Lob-> writeTemporary, which I use to bind the string data received demand for a CLOB for insertion in my database. I wonder if there is any way to prevent the header sent, or any other way I could get the data string in my database that would allow me to avoid this error.

    Here is my code

    <? PHP
    get the content of the HTTP POST request
    $xml = @file_get_contents ('php://input');

    Open the connection to the DB
    $conn = ocilogon (user, pwd, host);

    error, if it is unable to connect
    If (! $conn) {}
    trigger_error ("Could not connect to database", E_USER_ERROR);
    }

    build the query
    $query is ociparse ($conn, "insert into XML_MESSAGE values (null, SYSDATE, null, XMLType(:clob), null, null)");.

    Open the lob to store the xml file to insert
    $lob = ocinewdescriptor ($conn, OCI_D_LOB);
    $lob-> writeTemporary ($xml);
    $lob-> close;

    bind variables and run the query
    ocibindbyname ($query, ': clob', $lob,-1, OCI_B_CLOB);
    $success = ociexecute ($query);

    Returns the status code
    If {($success)
    Header ("HTTP/1.0 200 OK");
    }
    else {}
    Header ("HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request");
    }

    Disconnection of the Oracle
    ocilogoff ($conn);
    ? >

    And here is the error:

    WARNING: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db\apache\apache\htdocs\test.php:18) in c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db\apache\apache\htdocs\test.php on line 27

    You probably have a text sent (maybe a mistake?) before setting the header:

    $ php53 -r 'echo "something\n"; header("HTTP/1.0 200 OK");'
    something
    PHP Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at Command line code:1) in Command line code on line 1

    A good practice would be to set up a Manager error and/or the buffer output.

  • Cannot modify READ ONLY file attributes using the administrator account

    I tried the windows Explorer and a custom program called Directory Opus. I tried to create several administrator accounts, but not luck.

    I can't work with this existing problem.

    I need a solution.

    I have exactly the same problem.  Following the steps above did not work, folders/subfolders unchangeable rest.  I am the owner of the folder and subfolders.  I don't know yet how they became Read-Only to start.  Read-only on the individual files setting works correctly.  Changing the settings of file does not work.

    IMPORTANT EDIT:

    According to a message from the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
    You cannot view or change the read-only or system attributes
    To summarize, Windows does not include system or read-only folders settings (he was aware of these properties on the FILES however).  Individual applications that you use cannot ignore the State of read-only on a folder and can give an error.  In my situation, an application was trying to create a new file in a folder that has been marked read-only and honored the RO parameter and refuses to try to create the new file.

    To actually change these attributes, properties menu will not work.  The KB source:

    • If you click apply changes to this folder only , the read-only attribute is changed for all files in the folder. However, the read-only attribute is not changed for the folder, its subfolders or files in its subfolders. If you click apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files , the read-only attribute is changed for all files in the folder and all files in the subfolders. However, the read-only attribute is not changed for the folder or its subfolders.

    To change these properties, the user must start a Terminal command line and execute the changes by hand, for example, this command:

    • attrib - r + s c:\test

    .. What will remove the READ ONLY parameter and apply the SYSTEM setting in the folder.  Once more, change the properties of files (including files in subfolders) works as expected with the right click - Properties-> Security menu.

  • Cannot modify read only options for all my files

    Original title: properties of the file.

    All of my files have become "read only".  Even if I'm an admin I can't change that.  If I open the properties and uncheck the read-only box, it emerges, I click on apply and OK, but the file remains read-only.

    Hi David,

    Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    From your description, it seems that you can not change the only option of reading to all your files in the computer.

    I'll be happy to help you. This problem can be caused if the files are corrupt and comes into conflict with other programs.

    I would be grateful if you could answer the following questions:

    1 have you ever done any recent hardware or software on your computer changes?

    2. have you created the file read-only?

    I suggest to follow the steps below and we update on the State of the question.

    To view or to remove the read-only or the attributes of system files in Windows Vista

    a. click Start, click run, type cmd, and press enter.

    b. to display the syntax for the Attrib command, type attrib /? at the command prompt.

    To remove the read-only attribute and to set the system attribute, use the following command:

    attrib - r + s drive:------------

    For example, to remove the read-only attribute and set the attribute to system for the C:\Test folder, use the following command:

    attrib - r + s c:\test

    Be aware that some programs may not operate correctly with folders for which the read-only attribute and the system attribute are granted. Therefore, use the following command to remove these attributes:

    attrib - r s by car:------------

    For example, to remove both the read-only and the attributes to system for the C:\Test folder, use the following command:

    attrib - r-s c:\test

    If the run command is not listed in the Start menu, follow these steps:

    Click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, and then click run.

    For reference:

    You cannot view or change the read-only or the attributes of system files in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7:

  • Cannot get rid of the read-only file attribute

    I have a folder on my PC which is marked read-only.  The Setup program seems set up like that.  If I right click on the folder and go to 'Properties' there is a grey checkmark on "read only".  If I have it uncheck the box, and then click OK or apply then OK, it remains unalterable (the grey tick comes).  There is no hidden file in the folder.

    How can I fix it?

    Contrary to all logic of common sense, the 'Read only' attribute, as shown in the Properties screen has absolutely nothing to do with 'Read only' when it refers to a folder in Windows XP. In fact, it indicates that it is a custom folder.  A full explanation can be found here:

    "You can not view or change the read-only or the attributes of system files in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7"
      <>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326549 >

    You don't mention exactly what your "problem" is with this folder, so I can not develop too much more than that.

    Actually, no. It is not recommended or supported for Reader and Acrobat on the same Windows System. You have discovered one of the many reasons why.

    Please make sure that you gave permission for the folders listed in the article, follow these steps.

    1 - give read and write permissions for the Application Support folder and preferably on User Library and the secret library.

    2 - Add user and admin both permissions.

    When you open the Get Info option for specific folder.

    Make sure you click on '+' symbol, it will open the list of user accounts. Add currently logged in user account and Director of user account, if it is not added.

    Both must have read and write to prevent access these some questions in the future.

    Important:

    Once you added as currently logged on user account and administrator user accounts and provided access for reading and writing.

    Make sure you click on the gear icon and select apply to closed.

    Lock dialog box and close the Get Info .

    So that all the folders in the folder Adobe will get read and write access.

  • cannot save file metadata, file is read only

    I have several files that I changed in LR, then changed in PS and saved in a different format.  Their return to LR and tried to record metadata in files, but it will not allow that and says that the files are 'read only '.  How can I change as read-only to read/write?

    Good answer found by dj_paige!  When I went to make a screenshot of the folder permissions, I found that although security, I have it changed so I had full access, the general tab for the parent folder is still marked read only.  After unchecking read only on the parent folder and the folder and subfolders over 1000, it's finally let me save metadata!  Big thank you!  For everyone with this problem, I would start by right clicking on the parent folder to all your image files, in general tab, uncheck Read-only and then if it does not change the permissions for different people on your computer.  I'm all for controlling the most possible and to relinquish control as a last resort!  Again, thank you dj_paige for me by browsing.  You've been very helpful!

  • Cannot read all the letters of the key at the back of my computer

    My Win 7 crashed and I need to reinstall it, but can not read all the letters of the key at the back of my computer

    It * may * be an alternative solution, if you are patient and persistent.

    Attempt to activate by phone and speak to an operator - they will tell you that your current key is locked (they then seek confirmation of your product key). Explain your problem, you must change the key of your sticker, but the thumbnail is unreadable (they could please provide a replacement key?). If all goes well, they will request documentary proof of the sticker, in the form of an e-mail with a picture of the affected tile - and you can proceed from there.

    It sometimes takes two or three calls before you get an operator who knows and uses this procedure, but I know that it is possible and happens.
