Cannot open the calendar
I used the calendar in the works for several months; recently, when I try to open, I read, 'works cannot find the files needed to open the calendar. The files may have been lost or changed. Try to uninstall and reinstall the program' or words to that effect. I uninstalled and reinstalled, with firewall disabled, but still the same message. I also tried "System Restore" but this hasnever worked on my machine - HP Pavillion. I don't know which files may be missing, or why they disappeared, but all my appointments are in the calendar. XP Media center, service Pack3 installed running. Norton Utilities and Norton network security. The problem of the timing could coincide with first "registry cleanup" with Norton - not sure. Please help, I don't know when my grandchildren next birthday is or if I have a future doctor's appointments.
If your computer has Norton Antivirus or Norton Internet Security, you must disable Norton product Tamper Protection before you run the system restore.

If you synchronize some of your calendars, or reminders with iCloud, then in the iCloud preferences window, uncheck that marked calendars and reminders. Safari refuses to go to certain websites (facebook.com, youtube.com) on my iPod Touch and instead displays this error:
S afari cannot open the page because the network connection has been lost.
The bubble at the top where I typed in the URL doesn't change, it always says "facebook.com" or something else.
No matter where I am, so it won't get fixed by resetting my home Wi - Fi router. Other sites load fine. I have reset the iPod, too, by pressing the sleep button and one on the front (whatever it's called) until I see the apple logo. I also did 'Story clear and data Web site' in the Safari settings.
I searched the web and found a number of threads that start with similar complaints, but I can't find one where the problem has been resolved in fact.

Try:

Go to settings > general > Reset and tap reset all settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as your contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) are not affected.

-Restore factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at an Apple store Genius Bar because it appears that you have a hardware problem.

I work on a MacBook Pro mid 2012
Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz
OS X El Capitan 10.11.6
The Mail app suddenly quit and when I tried to resume, I got this message
"Cannot open the application"Mail"because the PowerPC applications are no longer supported."
This also happens with the "Maps" app
All Mac software are up to date, but "Mail" has been working fine since my last update that was awhile ago.
I am confused to say the least. Suggestions? Thank you!
If you do a Get Info (command - I) on Mail and Maps applications, what version numbers do you see?
Try a reboot.
Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolate a problem by using a different user account
If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account. Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

I got a Satellite A300-M01 with Windows Vista but my my software is very slow, so I'm a Windows XP Installer to put in. Try turning off JavaScript under settings - Safari - Advanced.

I have a mac-mini end 2012, OSX El Capitan 10.11.3, 2.5 GHZ intel core i5, 116 GB 1600 MHZ, DDR3
When I connect to my Chase account using 1Password, I get the message "Safari cannot open the page because the server has quit unexpectedly the connection, try again later".
I called Chase, their system is working normally. I rebooted the computer twice, I have tried for 3 days now.
I went to Safari/Preferences, deleted cookies etc. All to nothing does not.
Ideas?

El Capitan: Cannot open the application "app name" because it may be damaged or incomplete
Came across this several times. After you initially upgrade to El Capitan 10.11.2, after logging into my main account (admin), I was not able to open applications and received the following error:
"Cannot open the application name"app"because it may be damaged or incomplete."
I couldn't open "Activity Monitor", "System Preferences", "Finder" or anything (provided, App Store or other system). The icons will revert to the default application icon. Other users have no problem with the same apps.
After the panic, I found a solution: go to another admin account, delete the old user account, and then add it again. This version corrects the problem of this user; It apparently rebuilt the user for that user identity information, while leaving their home folder (and preferences, documents, key rings, etc.) only. iCloud information must be re-entered, but it is trivial. Once the user delete and add, I was able to run these applications.
When I upgraded to 10.11.3, it is the same thing, but to 3 accounts. I managed to solve this problem through the guest account - that is, I was still able to authenticate as an administrator, but I could not open a session and run anything.
El Capitan removed permissions repair; I think it can be done in the recovery console, but I shouldn't do that.
No idea why this continues to be?
Generally to searching for the above error message is specific to applications from the App Store or other, not about things like "Activity Monitor" and "System Preferences."
