    Hello

I assume that you have installed all the drivers for the Toshiba driver page. You also update the BIOS to the XP version?
You should do this if you have changed the operating system and if you use XP instead of Vista.

May I ask how you try to burn data to a DVD disc?
Are you using a 3rd party burning software?

I use Nero and I m very pleased it burns different types of CDs and DVDs.

    Feedback would be appreciated.

  • Not able to write CD or DVD on Tecra A4

Since the last time I posted my problem of not being able to write CDs or DVDs using TECRA A4 with Mat * 830s DVD burner, I tried all the methods that have been suggested, but without success. I tried to update the firmware to version 2, but I wasn't able to update the firmware. I get the target drive not connected message.

Hmm, so it's the pathetic situation, I am not able to write even a CD single in 2 years I bought the Toshiba Tecra A4. Whenever I put a CD in it says "D: / incorrect function." Is there a solution to this? I expect a last hope to make it work.

At the end of my patience, if I can't write a single CD even after 2 years.

    Hello

    > but I wasn't able to update the firmware. I get the target drive not connected message.
This message appears because you have used a wrong firmware and is not compatible!

However, I have read you first assignment and all advice offered were ok.
    But have you checked that?

Try going into control panel-> system-> hardware-> Device Manager and then under dvd/cd devices select the drive and right click and uninstall and then reboot and see if it helps.

Please check if deleting UpperFilters and LowerFilters in the registry helps:

  • Satellite U200: I am not able to burn DVDs

I have a problem with the DVD writer:

Since I formatted (and then reinstall with the restore CD that was with the computer at the beginning), I am not able to burn DVDs!

How can I do to get that!

And also, it's weird, instead of showing a DVD player, there are 2: one for the CD, a DVD, when it's the same thing...

I am able to read the DVD, but I am not able to burn them :(

    > And also, it's weird, instead of showing a DVD player, there are 2: one for the CD, a DVD, when it's the same thing...

It's very strange it s confusing two s WEIRD appears in MY computer

What you could do is remove the player of ODD (CD/DVD) Device Manager, then restart the laptop.
Please check if the CD/DVD would be recognized correctly after reinstalling again.

  • Why am I not able to print pictures after having previewed in photo WIndows Media Viewer

Why am I not able to print pictures after having previewed in photo Windows Media Viewer

It is a Windows XP forum... you are using WIndows XP?

I don't know what you call Windows Media Photo Viewer.

In Windows XP's default Photo Viewer is Windows Picture
and Fax Viewer... and it has options of printing photos.

Try right click on a thumbnail of the photo or the name of the file and see if you
can choose... Open with / Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
The print icon located at the bottom of the screen...

In addition, when you have a photo displayed in the Windows image and
Fax Viewer... you can type... CTRL + P to print the Photo
    Assistant.

Also, if you right click on a photo thumbnail or file name of the menu
    should include a print option.

CD/DVD players use different lasers for reading/writing DVD from the CD.  All indications would point to your laser DVD as having failed.  You could try to remove your drive and install it in another computer to see if the problem follows your player or your computer, but my bet is that the drive must be replaced.

    Hello

This path is not easy to tell if there is only a few small problem or maybe a malfunction but from your description, I assume that the reader can read but not write DVD media. In this case, it is really possible that the drive is faulty.

If you have tested with different DVD media and the different burning applications, I'm pretty sure that the drive is faulty.

  • Could not read or write DVD-RAM

Even if my material indicates that he can read and write DVD-RAM, all of a sudden I can't recognize discs dvd - ram, that I stored things on front. I followed one of the forums and has released Service Pack 2 and that worked for a while and then stopped working again after a few updates have been installed. I tried again to SP2 and then pushing out, but not joy. No idea how to fix this? I went through Fixit MS and the thing Upper and Lower filters, still no joy.

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

  • Audio CD not playing not not in mast * a 820 s UJ on Equium A60-155

    Hello

I'm having some trouble with audio CDs on my Equium A60-155 with the carpet * a UJ 820 dvd multi recorder. By audio CD, I hear cd albums purchased, not copies or CDs with mp3 files (I'm ripping my cd collection on a MP3 player through my laptop).

A brief description of the problem is:

Some cds do not play the disk at all - I can hear it clicking and buzzing and light orange on the eject disc, but it will not read the disk and the pc hangs until I have the disc. Some CD play, but with sound distortions (e.g. constant cracking and popping); and some CD and play ignite very well, without any problems at all.

Windows Media Player is what I use to play the CD. The CD I'm unable to play fine on a normal cd player and on other PCs (I tried a number of these CDs on several PCs in my office and have no problem at all), so I'm confident drives real themselves are not the issue.

I would also like to add that no audio CD (for example the software) and DVD playback absolutely perfect on my laptop with no problems whatsoever.

I tried most of the advice in other posts here with similar issues:
I have reinstalled/updated all the drivers, firmware and bios.
I removed the dvd drive of the Device Manager and rebooted to force Windows to reinstall.
I tried to clean the lens with a cd lens cleaning cd.
I tried to play the CD via iTunes and RealPlayer instead of WMP, but have the same problems.

I would appreciate any advice that anyone could offer. In reading the other posts it seems similar to the problem of lens calibration other posters have known, but I would have thought that he would not play any CD at all if that was the case.

Please let me know if you need more information. I use Windows XP SP2.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ed

    Check this box:
Go to the properties of the drive and select the Hardware tab. Then choose new drive and select Properties. Then check in the Properties tab, if the Enable CD digital option for CD-rom audio is marked
    Maybe it helps.

I have although this could have something to do with audio copy that has been applied on some audio CD s protection.
I read on the internet that many different readers might have some problems with these copy protections.

Maybe I m wrong, or even it s calibration lens problem
These problems might arise if the lens can not calibrate correctly. I mean that the reader may be able to play media and others not.

  • Cd\dvd drive disappeared on Equium A60

    Hi all

Can someone help me? I have an Equium A60. It's 18 months, outside the usual on heating problems and closing, now it starts but my DVD drive disappeared. I have a rug * a DVD-RAM UJ - 830 s. Win XP just didn't load it.

He is no longer in 'my computer '. I'm in Control Panel of configuration and the 'systems' then 'system properties' and watched on 'Device Manager '. The drive is there, but with a big yellow exclamation point. So I checked the 'properties' it has the following message: "Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware, but does not the hardware device. (Code 41) "and troubleshooting has no use.

More than heating cooked my drive? I've updated the drivers for it, but this has no effect.
