Cannot run Virtual ESX host configured in my Asus u56e laptop machine. Says Intel Vtx unsupported...

Friends,

I can't run Virtual ESX host configured in my Asus u56e laptop machine. Explains Intel Vtx unsupported.

I checked to find that my machine has Intel VT turned on in the Bios.

Please notify. I tried to use VMware-guest64check - 5.5.0 - 18463 tool and it said that my machine can support 64 bit OS. Fixing of newspapers.

In my computer, open your VM ESXi and go to VM-> settings.  Under processors, check the box next to 'Virtualiser Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/IVR.'

  • Virtual ESX host?

First of all I must appologise, I tried searching, but my browser gives me a 404 error whenever I press the search.  So if a topic of this nature already exists, please let me know.

    Now to the question.

I'm looking using Vizioncore vReplicator software, recommends that you have your disaster recovery ESX hosts in a separate group.  Ultimately, this means that your ESX hosts in this cluster will be doing nothing but waiting for a situation of DR.

Is it not possible to install ESX and then create 2 new virtual machines:

    (1) a production ESX host

    Host 2) A DR ESX

This way, just host would not be "wasted material" as production VM would BE able to help the production cluster workload, while DR VM would practically nothing (no pun intended hahah)... in a DR situation, the prod THAT VM would eventually not having any VMs to manage (because it would be likely that my just blown SAN) and DR site (with SAN backup) then resume the treatment.

Any thoughts?  Can I install VMware ESX as a virtual machine in ESX?

No you can not install ESX in the virtual machine under ESX, but you can under my computer - but ESX running in a virtual environment is not the way forward for DR performance would be catastrophic during a power outage in my humble OPINION

  • cannot remove vMA ESX hosts

I added a few guests of the vMA and activate the newspaper collection.  It collects logs for the hosts with success.  I don't want to follow these with the vMA hosts more because they are in a remote location and that it would implement a vMA at the remote location.  I use the sudo vifp removeserver servername command to remove the ESX host and they are eliminated as appropriate.  I run the vifp order mailing lists and they appear more more.  The thing is that the newspaper collection is still happening against the machines on the vMA.  I'll look in the directory/var/log/vmware and the directory for the ESX host, I deleted is still there.  I removed the directory and they immediately come with newspapers.  I'm going to rerun the command to remove the host and he says that they are already removed.

How get rid you of the machines out of the vMA?

You must use vilogger to disable the first control, and then remove the targets of vMA. Looks like vilogger works regardless of what VMAs think its management.

If you have removed the targets of MAS... should not be able to connect to your targets from a distance. Are you sure that the log data is always transferred or is it simply a directory being created?

There is a local credstore that is stored in the home directory of vi-admin /home/vi-admin/.vmware/credstore, perhaps you may need to disable it (make a backup first and move or rename)

  • Cannot run FPGA by host

My program has normally run this afternoon, but after I saved the new file (seems no change), I can no longer see the wave in the wave chart more at the launch of the vi of the host.  Only when I keep the FPGA vi running can the wave be displayed on the chart.  I don't understand what happened.  I used Run like the invode method but I can't browse FPGA vi host more.  Any help will be much appreciated.  I've also attached the FPGA and host vi, which is barely changed from the examples.

You have no need to run it invoke the method as your open FPGA VI reference is currently configured to automatically run the VI. I recommend you either remove the invoke method or right-click of your FPGA VI reference open and change its options so that it is not automatically run.

The way you transfer your data between your FPGA and host VI could be the problem. Currently on your FPGA VI, you have a waveform chart and a function of bundle. As a general rule, you don't want no graphics on an FPGA VI front, since it is as just the low-level code do your FPGA-level tasks. Display you your data when you pass it to your host. In addition, there is no reason to combine a single item of data in a cluster, you can just do an indicator I16.

In addition, I do not understand the system calendar, maybe I'm just confused here. Your front panel for loop rate default configures the FPGA VI to enter a new sample of AI every 100uS. Which means the FPGA will be claiming a break 10,000 times per second. You have your host VI set up to wait for a break before the reading of the indicator, but the host is configured to run every 10ms, or 100 times per second. Basically you have your FPGA and your host VI running at different rates orders of magnitude, but try to synchronize the bed with an interruption.

You can run the FPGA and host screw at different rates with success using a FIFO of DMA or a queue, between them. Ensure your FPGA VI is grabbing samples very fast and packing in a queue, one both for the host VI to grab a chunk of at a slower interval. There is a great document on how to do it here: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4534

  • The Port of the switch to ESX host configuration

I have a switch that connects to a physical server used in

virtualization.  This means that virtual machines with IP addresses on

several subnets will send layer 2 frames to this switch.

However, in an attempt to reduce the number of network adapters on the server

It is.   If there is only one card NETWORK in this physics

Server connected to a physical switch port - it is possible to

with a port on the handful of physical switch frames that come

all virtual machines running on the physical server - when these VMs have IPs

different subnets?  Or each separate subnet property intellectual logic requires a

switch port separated to manage its images and its own on physical NETWORK card

    the server used for virtualization?

    Thanks for your comments

Yes, you need to configure the physical switch port as a trunk and then configure the VLAN tagging on your Exchange Configuration-> Networking.

  • Cannot run add a host vCAC to vCO

I tried to run the workflow 'Add a host vCAC' and continues with invalid credentials.  I tried the account a local administrator on the system of IaaS, an AD that is in the Administrators group and the based AD account service IaaS components are installed as.  None of them have worked.

How can I dig deeper to understand what is malfunctioning and what I need for this power?

Someone at - he was able to do with AD to service account?

    Solution:

    Setup

    • ROOT domain credentials are named vCACp
    • Credentials of field CHILD named vCACt
    • IaaS server is in the field of CHILD
    • ROOT & CHILD have a two-way trust relationship.

    ROOT\vCACp & CHILD\vCACt to the administrator group on IaaS.Child.local

    Admission tests

Go to https://iaas.child.com/repository/data/MetaModel.svc/ and put in

ROOT\vCACp credential and it works very well.  It returns the XML code.

CHILD\vCACt credential and it works very well.  It returns the XML code.

If the permissions work on the side of IaaS.

Go to vCO and run the "Add to vCAC host" and put in vCACp ID with the Netbios name of the ROOT.  Breaks down...

Try again with vCACt using the netbios name of the CHILD... work properly.

Apparently, there is a limitation/known issue with the use of vCO and cross domain trust.   Not sure of the details and am still digging for a Ko or a few other details about this.

Use two ESXi hosts and a Vcentre Server (virtual)

When I added the hosts in the center of Virtual Server, I chose the option of locking down (I forgot the actual box, I chose) but he said something like on the virtual circuit can manage hosts?

In any case the VC went offline, do not know why and I can't access the ESXi hosts using the VI client using the root username-password. I get the followign error:

  • Can we use use DELL R610 / R710 for execution of the ESX host?

We will purchase a new server to run ESX 3.5 or vSphere.  We have new DELL servers.

We considered R610 and R710, but we see that there are only 2 PCIe slots.  As one of them be given for an image ADDITIONAL NIC card, there is only one location for HBA.   It is advisable to use a Dual Channel QLogic QLE2462 HBA.

However, it seems that the Dual Channel HBA will be a single point of failure - if it is connected to 2 different switches FC.  We would love to hear if anyone uses these DELL servers to run the ESX host.

    Thank you

Good question, I would have preferred two HBA cards. If storage fails everything disappeared. If network failure you will not have access to the outside, but the chances of data corruption is smaller.

  • Advice on how best to configure the network adapters and virtual switch in ESX host

I'm new to VMware and am its implementation.  I got my training a few weeks ago, and now I'm configing my hosts.  I have 3 guests, each have 2 network cards.  There is a virtual switch that ESX creates when it is installed (vSwtich0).  The books said that it is advisable to delete the VM network port of virtual machine that is assigned to the value group default virtual switch and put it on another virtual switch so that you keep your management network separated from the network of the vm for performance and security.  If I do this, all my virtual machines will have to go to 1 NIC b/c I only have 2 NICs per host.  I thought that I have just to keep all my groups of ports on the default vSwitch0 and add my second NETWORK adapter so that I can take advantage of the Association of NICs for redundancy and load balancing.  However, I'm not sure on the performance and the security risks.  Do you have any ideas or advice?  I could also create two virtual switches and put my virtual machines on one which would have a NETWORK card dedicated and put my service and Kernal VM console on another virtual switch with a dedicated network card.  However, in this scenario, I have no fault tolerance or load balancing.  We are a small shop and we have about 10-15 VMs on each host.  I don't have access to b/c distributed switching we paid only for the company (not more).  Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the forums,

With 10-15 VMs per box and I guess that I would seriously consider adding two extra cards for each host in the production machines. You could then do something like:

    vSwitch0 - vmnic0, vmnic2, vmnic3 - Console of Service, VM LAN network

    vSwitch1 - vmnic1 - VMkernel

That would give you redundancy and performance to access your hosts (SC) and also for all your virtual machines. The VMkernel would get a NETWORK card dedicated for vMotion and could be on a separate network. He didn't need redundancy really as if the NIC sank the only issue is that you cannot vmotion virtual machines. In this case you would just move one of the NIC workgroup through to those switches manually.

If you only have 2 network cards, then I would say having a vSwitch with two attached network adapters and VLAN the VMkernel may be off. I want absolutely to the redundancy of having two cards together.

    Hope this helps,

    Dan

    Mr. VMware

    Hello, MrVmware9423-

It seems that this may have to do with the .NET Framework is installed on the computer on which you run PowerShell/PowerCLI.  Take a look at http://communities.vmware.com/message/2174319 - users have been able to solve the problem with a newer version of the .NET Framework (v2, installed v3.5 - success).

Because your problem seem (you use a? 2 version of .NET, and you're able to install a newer version)?
