• Cannot save preferences/workspaces etc., in CC2014, the PS said the file is locked. It is not.

  The actual error messages I get are:

  "Cannot save preferences because the file is locked, you don't have the necessary access permissions or another program is using the file. Use the "Get Info" command in the Finder to make sure that the file is unlocked and you are allowed to access the file. "If the problem persists, save the document to another file or duplicate in the Finder.

  It's the same thing when I moved to CS6 CC, no one here knew the answer, but the Photoshop online help guy told me to move the two files on my desktop, this corrects the problem, but I cannot find these files in CC2014 they were: The Adobe Photoshop CC settings folder and file: com.adobe.Photoshop.plist (I think they are still on my desktop but it's also a lot of other things)

  Did anyone here know how to solve this problem or where to find these files? I know how to get to the hidden stuff, but can not see them. I love the look of the new features and can't wait to try them, but wile, I can't save my settings that I hafta stay with the 'old' CC.

  PS: I get this message when I left Photoshop and also when I try to synchronize or save the settings, thanks in advance guys.

  Excuse me, I found the recalcitrant files & moving them to my office actually avoided the new day. In case someone else has a similar problem the files in question are located in: / users/yourname/Library/Preferences / (you must hold down the option/alt key to see the library folder), and they have the file "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 Settings" & file "com.adobe.Photoshop.plist"

  I get a CS5 error message since I upgraded our Mac to El Capitan: "cannot save preferences because the file is locked or you don't have the necessary access privileges." Use the "Get Info" command in the Finder to unlock the file... "I just got the phone with Apple support person. We could not even find a log (PSErrorlog.txt) file in the hidden library or preference files locked. We reset privileges for all Adobe files to unlocked nothing doesn't. On other orders, I also get a generic message "Could not complete your request because of a program error". (Specs are OS X El Capitan, Version 10.11.1 Mac;) CS 5, Version 12.) I tried to download the last update, but I get an error message saying "Failed download." This is probably due to the preferences/permissions error? All this started only occurring after the upgrade to El Capitan. Did anyone have any suggestions?

  You will need to give full read and write permissions in the following list of folders from Adobe:

  • Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
  • Macintosh HD/users/user name/Library/Application Support / Adobe
  • : Macintosh HD/users/user/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS5 Settings to name all of the permissions for this folder Adobe Photoshop CS5 Settings

  * User library must be hidden by default, which can be activated by opening finder > click the menu go up and press on and hold the option key, which would highlight hidden library

  Photoshop displays an alert box whenever I left who says that he cannot save preferences because the file is locked.

• Reinstalling Windows: Save preferences and settings CC

  After hours and hours of trying to diagnose a number of problems with my Windows 8.1, I have finally conceded and is going to be reinstalling a fresh copy of the operating system that you are clean.

  I want to know if anyone can tell me how I can save my preferences and settings for my Adobe CC programs so that I can jump the right to use them again as if nothing has changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I currently use Bridge, Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Acrobat.

  I would like to know if there is a way to export my workspace and reimport them on the new installation.

  I have a few Photoshop plugins I'd like to reimport.

  Other valuable parameters should I also know as well.

  Whenever you choose to uninstall an application of Creative Cloud desktop application, you must select the option 'No, keep the app preferences', so that your app preferences keeps when you reinstall.

  Last update of the latest Version of Photoshop on brand new Photoshop CC 2014 CC. Everything worked fine before the update! After installing Photoshop CC 2014, when I try to change Photoshop CC preferences, I get the error ' after updating Photoshop CC to update Photoshop CC 2014 - "cannot record Preverences because the file is locked, you don't have the necessary access permissions or another program of dissemination of the file" when I want to close Photoshop for the changes in preferences in force...   I had the same problem on Mac OS. And I could not migrate the settings. Launch as resetting preferences suggest here, has not solved the problem. I had to go to the library main folder Preferences and reset the permissions for the file Photoshop CC 2014 paths Photoshop CC 2014 folder and Settings. I am disappointed that Adobe has shipped an upgrade with such a fundamental flaw. I think I should say something derogatory and disparaging about Adobe, quality control, on the way as a loyal customer, using Photoshop since version 2.5 and a Subscriber CC, expecting better. But I'll leave these comments for others.

  Resolved after 8 hours of trying.

  Hold down the "Command" 'option' and 'Shift' and open Photoshop. It will ask you if you want to delete the settings. Say Yes. You need to reset everything but it clears the problem instantly.

• Cannot save preferences Animate CC 2015.2 and 2015.3

  After changing the color of the interface in the preferences, it is not be saved. The color of the interface changes immediately, but after the closing, preferences, the color gets switched back from light to dark. I tried the same thing with sync active, but that did not help.

• Cannot save preferences in first

  I am a new user of first CC 2015 and trying to set up my preferences (general, appearance, memory, etc.), I can't save the preferences that I select. I click on the 'OK' button at the bottom of the dialog box and the button appears selected (a blue line appears at the bottom of the key), but nothing happens. To exit the preferences dialog, the only way is to click 'Cancel' or the ESC key. My selected preferences do not stick. Quite annoying, because it is literally the first thing I try to do with this program!

• Cannot save "worthy of selected art" action

  I deisgn many symbols in emf format and then batch convert them into svg files. I'm not 22 000 images in this moment, so being able to automatically batchnconvert is vital.

  Currently I use CS3 for batch without any problem. In CS4 when you open the artboard EMF is the size of the default document, not the size of the work. So, there are plenty of extra space in batch svg.

  I just downloaded a trial of CS5 to see if it is now possible that I hate being stuck on an old version. CS5 has the possibility to adapt to the artboard to selected art (object/plan of work/adjustment of selected art) but you can't save this to a list of actions.

  The actions I want to include are 'open', 'select all' 'worthy of selected art' "Save as svg" "close". But the step of artboad is not registered.

  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  You will need to open internet explore-> Tools-> Options-> contents-> Auto complete-> settings-online forms-> tickmark 'username and password on Forms. Click on remove Auto Complete history. Click Ok-> now happened to Advanced tab-> sub navigation-> select use Inline Autocomplete-> Ok.

  Now, close and reopen Internet explorer.

  You can also select Remember me on registration pages!.

• Cannot save file and cannot save the form

  Sometimes, especially after that I've worked with Flash for a while, it doesn't let me save my work. I get a dialog box error saying that the file is opened read-only or another user has the file open. What is more worrying, is that I can't even do a "save under"-I get the same message. Even worse, if I exit without saving the changes, it deletes the file on the disk! This happens with XP x 64 and XP Pro.

  never - seen here too many times - when you work/save to a network drive you always risk losing
  work if there is more slight hiccups in the network connection. Always work locally, and then copy
  files to a network for application sharing.
  If you insist on the use out of a network - when it happens again (and it will) you will need to
  copy all the images in your timeline and paste in a NEW flash document and do a SAVE under a new name
  on a LOCAL drive.

• Cannot save layers moved into PSE10

  I frequently edit multilayer maps, in which each layer must be recorded accurately (to the exact pixel) with canvas. In older versions of PES, when I tried to import layers from another file, I disable mode "maximizes" in the menu window and drag the imported layers to one image on the other.  By pressing the SHIFT key at the same time, new layers would be recorded accurately on the new canvas in the same relative position they were on the old canvas (if the images are of different sizes, the old canvas would focus on the new).

  In PSE10 there is no 'Maximize' mode, so I use the 2 - up option in the menu layout. However, pressing the SHIFT key doesn't seem to work more, and new layers come in their original positions.  Apart from manually you align layers, I don't find a way to save them.  'Align' options are not useful to do this, that they re - calculate the center of the layer, based on its content. I need the layer must be harmonized as it was on the old canvas, regardless of the contents of the layer.

  I'm sure that I'm very stupid, and there is a perfectly simple way to do it - I can't find it!

  To activate the window > images > float images. Go in Edition > Preferences and select 'allow floating documents' option.

  It will allow you to make the floating documents which is not sticky to the application.

  (not sure if this is the same as the old unMaximized option).
