Cannot start my Equium L350

Hello

When I turn on my laptop it starts up ok with the loading bar and the Microsoft logo, but when the login screen is lying lights up it is just a blank screen with only the white cursor showing and nothing else, there is a backlight on but it just white/black.

I tried booting in safe MODE, but the same thing happens, so I m really stuck on what to do and how to get it... If someone of you need more information, I will do my best to give u.

Thank you very much.

Hello

Have you tried to boot the HARD drive recovery option?

Turn on the laptop and immediately press F8.
Usually, the start menu should appear and you could choose the first option called fix my computer.

Choose HDD recovery, then try to start this procedure

Normally this should help you to get the laptop to the factory setting

  • Operating system does not start on Equium L350 - 10L

    Hi all.
My laptop has suddenly stopped working. When I turn it on I have a screen that says "Startup Repair" and under "Windows cannot repair this computer automatically.

I tried to put it through a scan but nothing helped.

I'm completely lost as to what it can be. I'm not sure if it was dropped or anything!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You know what; If you n t have some important files on your HARD drive install OS using the recovery discs. After doing this you will have own preinstalled OS and everything works again.

If you have more photos and other important stuff saved on the HARD drive, you can remove the HARD drive and connect it to the PC and others as external one. You must have access to all your data and you can make a copy. After that put the HARD drive in your laptop and reinstall the OS.

  • Equium L350 - Vista fails to start after the installation of recovery

    Hello world

I have an Equium L350 after an accident I couldn't restart my pc. I tried to solve by using the recovery f8 menu and it did not work so I contacted Toshiba and got a restore disc. I reinstalled from the disc, after the instalation it said complete installation but visa does not start.
I get: Windows cannot repair this computer automatically click finished to turn off your pc

After a format and reinstall my computer broken? He is 13 months here for out of warranty

    Hello

Normally after the installation of recovery your laptop should work fine again.

In my opinion, it could be a malfunction of the equipment. Did you test the HARD drive for bad sectors? You can do this with Drive Fitness Test: http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.htm#DFT
Download the ISO image and burn it to a disk. Then you can boot from it and test your HARD drive for errors.

I also recommend to check the RAM for errors: http://memtest86.com/
Memtest is a good diagnostic tool for the RAM.

    I hope I could help a bit. :)

  • Re: Equium L350 - 10L - start with battery power

I just bought an Equium L350 - 10L. When he arrived, he has been turned on using the battery and started installing Windows. However, the battery expired and I can't cross the message of "close unexpectedly" even after reboot.

How can I go back to square one and restart the installation process? Advice.

Oh buddy, a stupid idea. I really do not understand you. After several weeks or months in the box, maybe it makes sense that the battery cannot run with full capacity.

In any case, connect your laptop to power supply and leave it for a while. Departure for laptop to see what will happen. If the installation process can not be finished early new laptop computer and immediately press F8. First option to choose repair my computer and follow the on-screen menu. The OS will be installed again and you will be able to complete the operating system installation process.

  • Impossible to install Win2003 Server to dualboot with Vista on Equium L350 - 10L

    Hello
I have Windows Vista preinstalled on my Equium L350 - 10L. I wanted to install Windows 2003 server on another partition in order to dual boot between the 2 operating systems. When I start with the install of Win2003 CD and access the Setup screen, I get the following error: «Setup didn't find any hard drives installed in your computer» I'm assuming (correct me if I'm wrong) I have need to install the drivers for the SATA controller during the installation when he says "press F6 to install 3 pary SCSI or RAID drivers. I have two problems: 1. I can't find the drivers for the SATA for EQUIUM L350 - 10 L controller, 2. the laptop is not a floppy drive - which is the only way to install drivers during installation. Helpful suggestions and solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It is important to doesn´t if toshiba does not explicitly have the F6Floppy drivers for your machine. You can go to www.intel.com and download the drivers from F6Floppy from there.

On the issue of the 'no-floppy", you can easily find a way just in slipstreaming with nlite for self made Win2003 Server drivers CD.

To learn more about "slipstreaming" CD with nLite, simply type 'Nlite slipstream XP ICHM8' or some of these words in google and you will find all THE answers. Or you use the forum search and find only 10000 messages on this slipstreaming with nlite, etc...

    Hello

All new laptops Toshiba, including your Satellite L350, are delivered without Toshiba Recovery CD/DVDs and this media facilities should be created by the owner of the laptop with the help of 'Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator'. This is small application designed by Toshiba and already pre-installed on the laptop with the factory settings.

This recovery image can not be downloaded.

If you didn t create this disc of relocations and now cannot start your laptop properly.
What you can try is to install the OS using Toshiba Recovery option.
Step by step guide that you find under http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

Please install OS using this guideline. If everything works well, once again please create recovery DVDs. I recommend you to use DVD-R virgins.

  • Update Bios on Equium L350 now keeps restarting to load windows screen?

Hello guys here is my problem:

Ive got an Equium l350 psld2e and I had a few problems with windows, so I reinstalled xp...
After I finished installing xp I had a few short drivers... like... ethernet controller video controller and a couple more...

in any case while searching for these downloads on toshibas website I downloaded an update of the bios (big mistake)... Then the computer restarted automatically after the download and update the Bios...
So after reboot it load up of home toshiba as usual... screen then the screen of windows then bam a quick flash of a blue screen then the computer restarts and repeats this process!

What is the solution? Need your help.

    Thank you

    Hello

It seems that the laptop starts fine but the Windows operating system may not start correctly.
In your case, I recommend once again to start and to access the BIOS.
Here, you must set it to the default settings and must save the changes.

In addition, you should boot from the Windows CD and must attempt to reinstall new OS.
If this will not help so I assume that something was wrong during the update of the BIOS and the BIOS should be reflashed again.

Unfortunately the BIOS can be reflashed back only by an ASP because ASP can use a traditional BIOS version that allows you to update if you are using external USB FDD drive.

  • Equium L350 beep at startup

    Hello
I have a laptop Equium L350 and for a few months, whenever I restart the laptop or start the computer bleeps it about 15 times before you start windows vista.

I don't know what this means, but when she starts the function click on the touch pad does not work (not the mouse keys), was the only one I can get the touchpad to work with a button click is to open my web browser and search for something (using the left click button) then when I click it it works!

I know this probably sounds more complicated than it is, but I'm not a big nudge when it comes to pc problems and it is difficult to explain what I mean LOL

Also I tried to restore my laptop with the recovery disc and the same problem persists.

This is typical when the warranty is only exhausted

Any ideas anyone on what the problem is and how I can stop making this horrible noise

    Alan

    Hello

I think that this sound is created by the BIOS.
Usually the power on self test (POST) is running at the beginning of the startup procedure.
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/power-on_self-test

MAIL scanning equipment and research of hardware problems if the beep appeared then it means that some errors were detected

But it is hard to say what role might be affected
Maybe it s a keyboard problem or RAM

In most cases this error can be read by technician ASP that guys have some manuals that provide a sense of code

PS: You are using the latest version of the BIOS? Otherwise, please udpate it!

  • Equium L350 - 10L: how to make dualboot - Vista and XP

    I need help.

How could I install an operating system of Windows XP and all keeping my Windows Vista.
It's like having two operating systems in one.

My laptop model is Toshiba Equium L350 - 10L.

    Thank you.

    Best regards

    Carol

    Hello Carol

Just in a few words: If your laptop is preinstalled with Vista original recovery image please make sure that the HARD drive has two partitions (C and D also check disk management). Windows XP must be installed on the second partition. For the installation of Windows XP Home edition, you need Storage Manager. Without this Storage Manager disk HARD won't be visible for the installation of Windows XP Home edition CD.

On this forum, you will find number of threads with the exact description how do.

At the end you must start Manager. Using this boot manager, you will be able to choose which operating system you want to use.

If you have any other questions please post again.

  • Need to restore to the Equium L350 DVD

Can someone please send me a copy of the DVD of restoration for the Equium L350?

    Thank you
    Russ

    Hello

As far as I know your laptop supports a HARD drive recovery.

This means that you can restore your device without the Toshiba Recovery CD.

To start the system recovery, you must press the F8 key. Choose the repair of the system, and then follow the instructions on the screen.

Of course you can also create a clean restore CD using the pre-installed tool called Toshiba recovery Disc creator.

The link to this application should be placed on the desktop.

  • Driver webcam could not open - please restart camera or Equium L350

On my new Toshiba Equium L350, there is no any camera assistant software. I downloaded from the toshiba Web site.
I installed it, but it does not work.
Whenever I try to use it or when I go on my user.

The webcam says error cannot open "driver Webcam. "Please restart camera or computer.

I tried to restart and reinstall, but nothing works.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

    I have a few questions;
You see the camera help software in the taskbar?
You use some applications like Messenger from MS that would block the webcam?

I read on a webcam on Vista laptops issue. It was related to the Vista operating system. There was a bug that has been solved with the installation of SP1.

    You have installed SP1?

  • Equium L350 graphics - 10L card problem

    Hello
I have the Equium L350 - 10L. He shared video memory and I was wondering if it is possible to change the amount. I see that it is not in the BIOS and is there a 3rd party tool is? Reason is that I want to use OS X Leopard, but I need to edit the video to be able to start (otherwise I just get a screen of white discoloration with two lines to).
If anyone has had experience with Leopard on this laptop and managed to make it work with QE/CI please tell me how you did it!

    Thank you very much
    Jonty

Leopard is not for me, but what I do know, is that there is no setting where you can change the amount of video. It will happen automatically. With more RAM inside, more memory will be reserved for video performance.
