  • Cannot start XP installation on Vista Home Premium preinstalled Satellite L40-139

    Here's the problem:

I bought a new Toshiba Satellite L40-139 in Austria and comes preinstalled Vista. OK, Vista is in German, and I don't know German. But I made a choice to learn German and to start using a Vista. After a month Vista drives me crazy (no language, just for Vista) and I want to just install XP. I didn't need something more.
I spent more then five days trying to archive this, but without success and I am disappointed, much.

I put aside all types of teaching and I did a lot of things, but none of them helped me.
So the problem is like this:
I made the partition for XP, so I have two partitions as: Vista (C), (D) XP and Datas (G) and my CD/DVD (E :).
I activated just boot from the CD/DVD, but when I insert the CD and start the installation of Vista it tells me something like this:
Press any key to boot from CD...
When I do that, I get a message, which is very fast where it says something like that, (I'm not quiet sure what it says because it's fast):
    Checking your configuration...
After that, nothing happens, don't know why, I just get black monitor and CD/DVD does not work anymore?

It's driving crazy me and I can't install XP.
It seems that does not recognize the CD/DVD, and I tried with several XP bootable CD/s and they work on my desk.

Can someone help, please, because I'm going crazy?

  • Cannot start "Printer Assistant" Officejet Pro 8600

The Printer Wizard and my 8600 worked well for over a year.  Now, I can't start "printer Assistant".  This may have been triggered by an 8.1 Win update.  Others on the Discussion Board have said to uninstall all programs, HP, reboot and then download the package "full of features" on the HP site.

Everything I did.  Installation works very well.  Print, fax and scan all work very well during a test.  A shortcut has been installed on the desktop.  But I can't start the "printer Assistant", either in the upper part of the counter, the Start button, the program file.

I used the Trouble Shooter to try to find the problem.  Since the troubleshooting I could open "Scan HP - HP Officejet Pro 8600".  From there, I could launch a successful analysis.  But the only way to this page that I found through the Trouble Shooter.

The Printer Wizard is loaded on my computer: worm 28.0.1315.0 file; 5.16 MB. Last updated on 17/10/12.

    You have any ideas?

    Hi Sticks10,

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate the clarification. I still think that the patch is a good idea to try.

If it still does not respond, try the following in the following order:

    1. Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the printer software.
    2. Clean boot the computer. How to perform a boot in Windows.
    3. Disable all antivirus programs. Turn Windows Defender on or off. (This works in Windows 8.1).
    4. Disable the firewall. Turn Windows Firewall on or off. (This works in Windows 8.1).
    5. Create a new user account. Create a user account.
    6. Re-install the software using the printer HP install wizard for Windows.

Hope this works for you and have a great day!

  • Cannot start Windows defender in Vista

    Original title: 0x800705by
    Windows Defender does not start

    Hello

What is the exact error message you get when you try to start Windows defender?

    You can follow these methods:

Method 1: Check if the Windows defender service is running on the computer.
    a. Click Start, type services in the start search box and then click on Services in the list programs.
    b. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
    c. double-click the Windows Defender service and then in the startup type box, click Automatic.
    d. click OK.
    e. make sure that the service is set to automatic and started.

Method 2: Disable any security software on the computer and try to turn on windows defender and check.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable
your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you
are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3:

See the article mentioned below and follow the troubleshooting steps.

  • Cannot start Eclipse in Window Vista

I have Window Vista Home Premium SP2 installed. I have also installed AVG Anti-Virus Free.

When I changed to Vista in 2009, I couldn't run the Eclipse Europa, which worked fine under XP.

Subsequently, it found that he must "Run as Administrator", the start screen appears; the loading bar work and then the program can be launched.

Lately, he has the problem of not being able to restart the Eclipse Europa. Same "Run as administrator" program was just a flash of the splash screen, then nothing happened. There is no loading bar, and the program has not started.

She already try the vaious methods; as right-click to get the program "Properties"; then check the box "Run this program in compatinility for Windows XP mode"; check the box "Run this program as an administrator" in the tab security. Set of all users group has full control.

I also try to download the latest stable Eclipse-Galileo and installed with administrator right. Also "run as Administrator" but the system have the same problem as flash only splash screen, then nothing happens.

There also to try the version of Eclipse Ganymede, the problem presist.

Looking in the record, the last time I can get the Eclipse Europa in my Vista window upward by running was beginning March 2010. I suspect there is something wrong security.

If anyone could advice how to overcome the problem.

  • Vista cannot start because of accidentally deleted system files

    Hello

my laptop was working very well until some files were accidentally deleted and now Vista cannot start.
There is a message saying that I need to contact the system administrator or the manufacturer of the pc.

Is there anything you could recommend?
I would appreciate if you could help me find a way to record all of the information contained in hard drives.

    see you soon

If you are not able to boot up the laptop and refuse it to Vista to start then take recovery in hand, insert it and start on this CD from Toshiba.

Then the cell phone should boot from the recovery CD and reinstall the whole OS again.
This should help, but the HARD drive will be formatted.
