• Cannot print on a Brother printer after Windows Update

  We share the same brother MFC-8660DN on a network (Win XP x 4 & Win 2008 Server x 1), everything was fine until yesterday (16/09/10). 2 XP computers cannot print (Status: printing error) just after the recent update of windows installation (windows auto update has been set for each week). When we tried to print to the brother printer, he would be stuck in queue for a minute and a bubble pop up "document cannot be printed." 2 computers work fine otherwise. Everything works normoally and can be printed to another printer like Canon. (PS: I tried to uninstall and reinstall the brother printer driver, but no luck the question of setting)

  On the other hand, the other 2 XP did not have an update, and so they can't always print on the Brother printer. Also, Win 2008 server doing a windows update auto but print very well so.

  Therefore, I believe that the update of windows XP must have something to do with the printing error. Is there a fix or update? Alternatively, we can uninstall the recent windows update (only one?) to solve this problem? I'm not sophisticated OS, do not know what could be uninstalled. Help, please!

  I received a call from a client 2010-Sep-16 that they could no longer print
  on a network printer from any workstation.

  Workstations have Vista Business 32 and have been updated morning of September 16.

  The server is Server2003 & printing it still worked well.

  I've read through all the messages about printer with El Capitan + Mac problems, but none of the solutions seem to work for me?  I deleted the printer files and reinstalled.  I have reset the printer system.  With the computer has restarted, etc.  It drives me crazy... I work from home and be able to print without spend 2 hours each day playing with it so he can print once and then not work again.   All the solutions experts out there?  I have to go out and buy a windows computer?

• Cannot access Windows Gadgets after upgrade to MSN Explorer

  Step 1:
  a. click on start

  b. click Control Panel

  c. appearance and personalization

  d and click 'restore the desktop gadgets installed with Windows.

   

  This will bring up the window of the Gadgets from office with a message indicating "administrator installed gadgets and all the windows have been restored.
  Step 2:
   
  Perform a System Restore to the point that it worked fine. Next time you get a command prompt to install MSN explore update/upgrade, I would suggest that you check the option that says "don't show".

• ESXi 5.5 - VMs cannot talk to each other

  I have a single host ESXi 5.5 in one of our offices abroad. Virtual machines on it cannot ping or otherwise to reach out to the other (RDP, etc.). However, other hosts can communicate with the virtual machines and virtual machines have full out communication - can ping their DG, other addresses, etc.

  The host is a Dell 510 with two network adapters configured on the vSwitch, which is set up at the HP 2510 G - 48 as a trunk. The VLAN is the tag and set up on the single vSwitch with the hash of the IP-based routing.

  I tried to disable one of the network cards on the switch to see if it makes a difference and also to disable the firewall on virtual machines (all virtual machines are running Win2008R2 - a domain controller and Exchange server and machine monitoring PRTG), also with no luck.

  There is only one port of the VM group and a group of unique management ports.

  Virtual machines can ping on the ESXi host.

  Is there any other information I can provide to help diagnose this problem?

  We have seen this behavior in clonned VMs, however in most of the changing scenarios the VMXNET to E1000 vNIC solves the problem.

  Please check the followng KB which has information on this behavior, and the patch from microsoft for the guest virtual machines.

• WiFi AR5007 802. 11 b / g adapter cannot talk about bridge WET11 Wireless on the same subnet

  Hello

  My HP Compaq Presario C700 VISTA laptop (a AR5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi adapter) and the printer are on the same subnet. The laptop is WiFi connected to my WRT54G2 router/switch and the printer is connected to the workgroup switch that connects to the router via the LinkSys WET11 Wireless Bridge.

  The installer works fine for over a year until he was there when my VISTA does not see any PC on the Working Group 3 weeks pass including the printer. However, the WAN access is not affected.

  I did the filming of following problems (in order):

  1. check the network settings on the laptop VISTA (x.x.x.29) and (x.x.x.201) printer and all look kosher.    (All my PC including notebook computer and printer have IP STATIC)

  2. check the router and the parameters of bridge and fines all eyes (router - XXX1, bridge - x.x.x.140).

  3 Ping printer, bridge, and other PC and received messages "Destination Unreachable Host" or "Request timed out". Although all are on the same subnet. Pingée router is OK.

  4 remove and re-add the wireless profile and tried to connect again. Same problem, no joy!

  5 started VISTA in safe MODE with NETWORK. Once again, the problem has persisted but at least eliminated applications as a potential source of problems.

  6. recycled power switch/router/workgroup bridge. No joy!

  7 WiFi connected other laptops to the same router (WRT54G2) and can ping other PC and printer END.    This means that the problem is limited to my VISTA laptop.

  8 given that the problem is on my VISTA and applications are not the source (see #5) of the problem, then probably the AR5007 802.11b.g wireless network card driver is original so I downloaded driver at HP and installed with version 7.3.201.25.  Problem is persistent...  Arhhh!

  Could there be something else that I missed? Can someone please help.

  Yes this driver will work fine on Vista Home Premium.

  According to the notes on the driver, it can just be run without uninstalling the current pilot you have on there now.

  After executing, you can confirm it 'takes' by going into Device Manager, expand network adapters, click the atheros wireless card, click the driver tab and you should see the installed version 2011.
