Cannot update firmware HP 8600 Officejet Pro Premium

I just found out today that there is a newer version of the CLP1CN1322CR firmware, which has been published

18/07/2014.

I already have an earlier version of this same firmware.  He was released last year (date unknown), and I installed it on 19/09/2014.  In doing so stated, among other things, Direct wireless capability.

1. I tried today to install the published version on 18/07/2014.  It has failed, with the projection of status of dialog "up to date."

2. are there additional benefits for the upgrade of this firmware on this printer?  If so, what are they and how do I perform the upgrade, as the firmware has the same ID but a release date later?  I need to downgrade the firmware with the original version provided with the printer (CLP1CN1150CR), and then perform the upgrade?  (I looked everywhere for the original version, but could not find it).

Additional information:

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit.
  • Connection: Wireless live
  • All the functions of the printer are working perfectly.
  • The printer is connected directly to the wall.

Thank you.

Yes that's correct. If the version you have is the latest. There is another code that you see on various forums, but even if it seems to be a newer version, it is not, it is simply the same version that was obtained via the Web Service menu rather than on the HP site.

Is there anything else I can help with?

    Sunshyn2005,

Please provide information on this issue.

Apparently, the problem that your customers have is that they are wasting their time trying to update the firmware on their printers and after a few hours of frustration they finally know that HP has a firmware update file on its Web site that has a date that is much newer than the firmware itself.

HP should do the following to make the process less frustrating firmware update:

    1. establish dates and version numbers in the file metadata which clearly indicate what firmware file is more recent.

    2. keep the HP web site up-to-date with the latest versions of firmware.

3 Broudly and transparent announce to the public when an update will be made and why.

    4. establish technology so that firmware can be updated on wireless links so that the networks do not have to be reconfigured to make the firmware updates.

I have a 8600 Officejet Pro running on a home network where all computers run Windows XP Professional SP3. I installed all the updates the OS published by Microsoft.

Updated the firmware of the Officejet device comes in a file named ojpro_8600_n911_a_1304A_10042013.ful.rfu and the instructions talk to unpack this file to get a file with the extension .bdl. I don't know what software will unzip a file with the .rfu extension so I don't know how to get to the .bdl extension. Can someone please explain to me how to decompress this file?

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: OfficeJet Pro 8600 is no longer connects to the network

I serve my 8600 OfficeJet Pro on a local network with a wireless connection to a router. Now the printer will not connect to the router.

I can ping the printer to the router, then the wireless hardware works. I can print when it is connected with a USB cable, scanning to a USB key, so printing/scanning equipment works.

WiFi Protected setup does not work. When prompted I press the button on the router for 3 seconds, the printer who sees because I get a 'connection to the network"roundy roundy, but it times out instead to complete the connection.

The WiFi connection wizard does not work. Analysis of available networks found my network, but when I enter the password, I get a "trying to connect to the Network" roundy-roundy, followed of a message "Wireless invalid password (WPA) has come."

The printed report assures me that's the wireless works, and that the WPA password that I entered the printer does not match the configuration in the wireless router. It is wrong - it's the same password using my computer and the computer has no problem connecting. I changed the password on the router (and the computer) and tried the new password on the printer, but that does not work either.

Is there a way to erase the memory of the printer and restore the default settings that can help?

Temporarily remove the password and all the safety devices on the router. Save the settings. Now try to connect the printer to your SSID not guaranteed without password. Are you successful? If so, go back and add a WPA2-AES encryption with your password and try to log in again. Do not use WPS.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: OfficeJet Pro ePrint 8600 - cannot select paper tray - HP needs to fix this problem

This is a limitation of the software that HP needs to fix. I bought this machine multifunction largely for two features, ePrint, and two bins to paper. I had released two paper because I often need to print on paper thick and does not want to manually load the cards into the printer whenever I don't want to print on thicker paper. Unfortunately tray 2 is not compatible with card stock so I keep copy regular paper in tray 2 (tray 2 is defined as the default tray) and I keep card stock in Tray 1, which is compatible with cards. The problem and the limitation is when I am traveling and want to use ePrint. Even if my default tray on the printer is 2, which is where the paper is, if I use ePrint to print, HP ePrint by default tray 1, which means that I print on thick paper. This isn't only a problem when you travel. One of the advantages of the ePrint, in theory, is I can print on my desktop at home via ePrint printer when connected to my VPN employers. I've had this machine for two years. It seems that HP would have an update now to solve this problem. So far, nothing. Frustrating!

    Hello @HudsonOH,

Thanks for posting in the forums of HP and welcome.

I understand that you are not able to choose your paper tray of your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-all-in-one using ePrint. I would like to help with this, as much as I can.

Unfortunately, when you simply send an e-mail to the printer, you cannot change the print settings, because it uses the default settings on the ePrint server.

However, if you have an Android or iOS device, you can download the HP ePrint app. This allows you to add the printer by ePrint e-mail address and send print jobs when you are not with the computer (need you an active wifi or data connection, however). The application also allows to select print settings if you can ensure that you don't waste card stock paper you loaded in the machine.

To download the app on iOS, simply open the app store and type 'HP ePrint' in the search bar.

To download the app on Android, you can open the store game (or game of Google) and search for "HP ePrint.

Once you have installed the application, you can add your printer via his email ePrint:

    1. open the ePrint application and select OK on the demo screens.

    2. Once you reach the home screen, it will show your printer name, or not find printers (depending on whether you are at home with your printer, or on the go). Select this check box.

    3. you will see a tab at the top that says all, select it.

    4. press on the + symbol to add a printer.

    5. Enter your ePrint e-mail address and select Add.

To print using the application, return to the home screen and select an item to print one of the options listed. Note: If you are on iOS, you can even add your e-mail information in the application so that you can print emails.

In addition, you can sign up here for updates on the new firmware and software for your printer, in which case no alternative workaround should arise: stay connected with updates from HP

    I hope this helps!

  • Cannot get computer to recognize officejet pro 8600

computer does not connect to officejet pro 8600 same thought printer is connected to the wireless network.  HP Home Network Diagnostic utility indicates that the printer software is not installed.  HP Print & Scan Doctor bombs & quit unexpectedly.  The computer is plugged in the wireless router to connect to wireless devices and the DSL router.  Any suggestions?

    Hello

I have been searching forums and make my own diagnosis and lots of reading many posts. I found an article useful, but even with the update software, I keep losing the connection to the printer, and I have to restart to be able to print and scan. Even if I try to search again for the printer, it is not found on the Windows XP computer until I have it reboot. But if I reboot it, I don't need to re-scan for her. It works again for a few hours then stop working again. All other Windows 7 computers and laptops on the network are very good. They all have the same scan virus etc.

Here is the article useful: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03149924

But at the same time, I have the updated version of the software something v25 and the problem still is occcuring, but I can see how this can help some people. I think that the upgrade to Windows 7 is the solution for now. I'm running out of options. I tried stop and start the spooler to print manually, which used to fix a bunch of problems in the past in WinXP. Delete and add the printer again. Next step before win7 might be to uninstall the software and see if there is anything more recent than the software v25.

    Good luck to all!

  • Cannot Downgrade firmware on HP Officejet 8600 more!

    Hello

In my office, I have to scan and copy legal size documents a lot a lot per day, I recently acquired this great printer Hp Officejet 8600 more

The first day, I was able to scan a bunch of 2 faces paper legal, very impressive, but then I upgraded the printer, as always at ease with the updates, but as a result of this, I was unable to rescan legal-size paper

I read a lot of similar problems, and I can't believe that there is an official decision, the printer can scan perfectly legal size papper, the solution is therefore downgrade the FW to an older version, but I can't, I tried with Jetadmin, with OJP8600_N911gn_1232A.exe and copy the file to upgrade *.ful directly to the printer

    And still the same thing:

-in the printer display the message (print) for a few seconds and then back to the homescreen again
In the computter with Jetadmin he stay on 0% for hours

-With OJP8600_N911gn_1232A.exe and EnterpriseDU.ini modded pops up an error after 20 minutes and ask me to reset the printer

-Copy the file *.ful to the printer, just put the screen printing on the printer 2 or 3 seconds and the back then to the home screen.

I tried by USb cable, ethernet and same wireless

Is a security bolt in the new firmwares?

How can I downgrade the printer?, is urgent, I need to analyze a large number of legal documents
And please activate the option of our own choice of risk, for a legal analysis in the next update, I am tired and disappointed...

    Thank you

    Hello BHVampire,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you are unable to scan legal size paper after upgrading the firmware using the Officejet 8600 more. I will do my best to help you! I just sent you a private message. If you are unsure how to check your messages from the forum, this post has instructions.

  • Cannot update firmware Officejet 6500 has more

I just receivevd my new Officejet 6500 a Plus (e710n-z).  The status page shows a f/w Rev. CIP1FN1110AR.  I did a search for updates on the printer itself and he says it's not.  I went to the 6500 a Plus page Web on HP.com and find f/w CIP1FN1126AR (OJ6500_E710n - z_R1126A.exe).  It is obviously a most recent version, right?  So I download it, then run it.  It works very well and even detect my printer.  However, the printer is gray and under STATUS does not say there is.

    Can anyone help with this?

    Thank you!

    I am employed by HP

If my post helped you... click on the LAURELS on the left to say thank YOU! ***

I DID IT!  I finally got the updated firmware update!  Gotta think sometimes off the beaten path!  I am a technician in field HP and normally we cannot simply click one. EXE firmware update.  Then that which made me think to extract the. EXE (see previous post).  Then I thought about the update via USB, in the same way that we do it not connected to network Laserjet printers and it worked!

So what you have to do is extract the file update package .ful (OJ6500_E710n - z_R1206A.exe), I used 7zip for this.  Then rename it and place it in the root of C: I just renamed mine fw.ful, short and sweet.

Then you need to share the printer, use a name that is short and sweet.  I called mine Officejet.

Then I went to a command prompt (not sure if it was necessary, but only in the case) and copied the firmware file.  Here is the command that I used

    copy/b c:\fw.ful \\your computername\printer sharename

My printer works now the firmware version 1206!  Not sure why it wouldn't run and update you want to its supposed to but at least now we have a way to do it.  I hope everyone can get what goes on their printer.

  • The printer Officejet Pro Premium N911n 8600 performs the selection automatic tray?

I have a printer Officejet Pro N911n, CN577A Pemium 8600 to two trays. My operating system is Win8, 64-bit, there is no error message, no change in System.

The HP Officejet Pro 8600 e - all-in-One series User Guide indicates that by default, support for prints of printer from the Tray1 Tray1.If is empty, the printer draws media from the bac2 (if it is installed and loaded with media. I have tray lock disabled, Tay1 default tray and automatic selection of the active status bar. Before these selections, I contacted HP email support to report this option did not work. I received a response that there is no method that automatically selects a tray when a drawer is empty. Manual States the user otherwise... This option may not work, but it is part of this series of printers. I have the two charged plates and I will determine if it works after that Tray 1 is empty. Does anyone have one of these printers and auto function set work? Thank you.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: Officejet Pro 8600 copies are almost completely black

Copies of the Officejet Pro 8600 are almost completely black.  The party central - perhaps an ich in width - is somewhat readable.  Printed documents are okay. This printer is 2.5 years old and worked fine in what concerns all the until today.  Thank you.

Hello @Tim1943 and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you use in the copy output problems.  I would like to help!

I would recommend starting with a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I suggest you then plug the power to the printer into a different wall outlet.

Another recommendation would be updated the firmware of the printer:

Printer updates for HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N911), 6600 (H711) Officejet and Officejet 6700 Premium (H711) e-all-in-One Printer Series

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600: officejet pro 8600 habit of scanning by plateau

    Hello

My printer won't scan anything through the plateau on top. I currently have a "HP Officejet Pro 8600' that I use for my mac. When I first put in place more than 6 months ago, I had no problem whatever it is across the Board on top of digitization, but now after the upgrade to Yosemite I got nothing else problems. During my first installation of Yosemite was not able to print or scan but after blocking it with a few updates, I'm not still able to scan documents through the State Bar through the Analyzer of glass I can scan things.

    Any ideas?

Also when I choose HP scanner allows you to change the presets for photos to documents until after I scanned something by habit.

Hello @Picture-j and welcome to the Forums of HP

I'm sorry to hear you had problems, but I will certainly do my best to help with your JO 8600!

To start, let's see if we can get this upper tray (ADF) to work with a copy. Can you put a document (or a blank sheet of paper to save ink if you do not need a copy of what it is) in the file ADF and ask him to make a copy. Does it work?

If so, what happens when you try to scan using the ADF? You get an error? The wheels just spin? I would like to know all the details that can help

If it does that it is, it could very well be a problem with the hardware itself, and in this case, I suggest that you try the procedure described in this document the ADF documents (ADF) does not Pick Up paper to clean the rollers and I hope to pick up the paper.

Let me know how things are going and we'll go from there!
