Cannot view Microsoft Web sites from my XP pc.

No site Microsoft does open on my XP pc. I always "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." All other sites work fine, and I can see fine on my Vista laptop.

Hello

My suggestion is to reset Internet Explorer. Normally, it is easier to fix for a problem like this.

I hope this helps.

Since "redevelopment" of Windows 10, Firefox cannot correctly display web pages of MSDN, Technet, or most other Microsoft Web sites. All I get is text based websites, no visuals at all.
There was once a way to have Firefox Web sites meet and pass off as internet explorer or Chrome... has this capacity disappeared or is it the fault of the web programmers at Microsoft screwing around with their code?

    Found the problem...

  • Windows XP Professional installation with SP3 OEM CD applied but updates from the Microsoft web site does not-2011

August 22, 2011 I just do a fresh install of Windows XP Professional formatting the hard drive. I then applied SP3 for an OEM CD, I bought from Microsoft several years (part number X 14-60166-02). Even if it is now at the level of the SP3, the automatic updates from the Microsoft web site will not work. If I bought the latest version of the SP3 CD-ROM, which will be the same as what I have now, or it will integrate all of the fixes that have taken place in recent years? Thanks for any help on this.

I received an e-mail from 'e' of what appears to be a microsoft Web site, they tell me my site will be closed down if I don't provide them with certain information, including the password etc, grammar seems somewhat imperfect, something on the network running slow and they (you) will have to clean (check) accounts This note was sent, I ignored the original e-mail from 'e' weeks but just received a notice/final warning that if I don't answer to my account will be closed to the down and out, it's from Microsoft. • I can reinstall Windows 7 from the Microsoft Web site free of charge, or I have to go buy Windows 7?

I have a HP laptop about 3 years. I don't have the disks with it to reinstall.  I have trouble starting up. Best Buys geeksquad says to reinstall windows 7.

If I can get on the internet can I reinstall from the Microsoft Web site free of charge or I have to go buy windows 7.  If I have to buy that I would be better off to buy windows 8?

    Original title: reinstall Windows 7

    Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community!

You can either reinstall the computer, which means it will have ANYTHING to this topic, or you can do a system restore when it was working fine.

  • Windows Media Player is not installed correctly and must be reinstalled. You want to install the Player from the Microsoft Web site?

Running Windows 7 home Premiun 64 x. Click to open the program the message pop up "Windows Media Player is not installed correctly and must be reinstalled. You want to install the Player from the Microsoft Web site? "that it takes to the site and there is no available media player Windows 7, installed WMP 11 does not work either. Tried to turn on and back on... did not work

Do you remember the last time that your Media Player worked properly?  You can use the system restore (type it in the start menu to find) to go back on this point.  This restoration takes about 2 minutes and will not affect your files - no matter how far you go.  It simply restores your system files and settings.

  • Cannot access the microsoft Web site using any browser

    Access Web sites

Try all 3 browsers... Chrome IE7 and Mozilla. I can't to any microsoft Web site. No problem to do anything else.

With Chrome... I get OOPS! and an error message. IE7 displays a page similar to AI "browser down" page and just microsoft

    sites.

    Thanks for any info

I can't to any microsoft Web site.

Sounds like a DNS issue.   Use nslookup to check.   Use ping n 1 w 1 to attempt to cache a browser search.  Use ipconfig/displaydns to check if the search is cached.   A problem with many Microsoft research is that they have several alias and have very short life values.   It is very difficult to take any advantage of cached searches.  An alternative is to substitute the search using your HOSTS file, but then the IP addresses of host Microsoft tend to be transitory.  In fact, this point suggests something to check first: make sure that there are no replacement of microsoft in your HOSTS file.   Remove them and do an ipconfig/flushdns, if there is.   ; )

  • Is it possible to download an image (.iso) of the operating system from the Microsoft Web site?

As I've already bought the computer with the operating system installed on it and apparently I have not received any CD of the OS with it. But I have the ID of the product on the computer... is there a way where I could get a copy .iso of my operating system on the Microsoft Web site?

    Thank you!

On-site upgrades are not well regarded by some contributors of this forum, including me. However if you want to try, I refer you to this link for an iso download...

But before you go this route, I would say as you explore the possibilities to fix the problems you have in other ways. Try to publish or questions about your problem and see what happens. You can save yourself a lot of grief.

  • Internet connection but cannot connect to Web sites

my internet explore, firefox, mail electronic program (thunderbird) and itunes will connect to internet even though I have a connection and my 64 bit of Internet Explore will work.      I had no problem and then the next time I tried to go online, I was unable to.  The error messages I get are, Firefox: server not found, Internet Explorer: IE cannot display this webpage.  When I run Windows Network Diagnostics it says troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem: detailed information shows no problems found.  I tried to run the automatic fixes since the link suggested with no sucsess.  I received the error message troubleshooting cannot continue because an error has occurred. We're sorry, but the program has encountered an error trying to contact the server. Please try again later. Code 80072EE7.   I tried several times with the same result.  I tried reseting the winsock and the host. I have reset the modem and the router. Other computers in the House have no problem of internet access. I have a wired connection to the internet, but I also tried connecting wireless with the same results.

    Hello

Please contact the Microsoft Community Forums.

According to the description provided, its looks like you is faced with a network connectivity issue. It would be awesome if you could answers to these questions in order to help you further.

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. what version of IE are you using?

I suggest you to see the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if it helps.

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error when you view a Web site in Internet Explorer: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956196

Problems in Windows wireless and wired network connection: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/wired-and-wireless-network-connection-problems-in-windows

    Notes:

Reset the settings of Internet Explorer feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings.

Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Clean Boot once you are finished troubleshooting, re-enable all services to reset the computer as usual.

System Restore when you restore the system to a previous state, programs or updates that have been installed since that date is removed.

We would be more than happy to help you if the steps above did not solve the problem.

  • After format and install Win XP Home and SP3 why can't open the Microsoft web sites?

    Need help, guys

I had to replace my HARD drive in my computer. I installed my Windows XP Home SP2 disc. After installation, I used my SP3 upgrade drive and my drive to upgrade to IE8. After you install all my drivers, I tried to get Windows dates and discovered that I could not access the Microsoft web sites. I get Internet Explorer cannot display this page. I tried to find out why this is happening and how to correct the situation, but have not found an answer that works yet. Can someone give me an answer to this question.

I have another (used) computer that I formatted the HDD installed and on Windows 7 and have had no problems to access the Microsoft web sites on. It uses the same modem cable like the other computer so I guess that everything is ok with my Internet connection. This problem seems to be only with Windows XP Home SP 3.

Think in advance for any help

Please do not share in the whole "BOLD". Which makes it hard to read!

Please check that SP3 is installed:

    Type:

    Press OK.
Also, tell us what you mean by "trying to get Windows dates" since there are two ways to do this!
  • DirectX9 for Vista, Microsoft Web site

    HelloW

I was told to download and install Directx9 for Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit (Directx10)

because that will add functionality to my pc for display of films that are rendered in slow motion with distortion of the image.

The problem is that on this site:

    http://filehippo.com/download_directx/

Directx9 95,63 MB big and on the Web from Microsoft to 308 KB.

What is the difference between these two files?

I downloaded from Microsoft, the file has not started other download (95, 63 MB) and Vista has announced that it could not be installed correctly.

If you provide a link to download it please check her work: download starts and complete instalation

The film are rendered in the same way.

    Any sugestion?

    Thank you.

1st, you need only download & install Direct X to microsoft web sites... For vista, your best bet is DirectX

Redistributable 2010.telecharger in the folder, open, open in a new folder that you created, once through, open it

folder, locate the open the .exe, the rest runs automatically. Download it here.
