Canon software

I changed to a new computer with windows 7. Now I am unable to install the software disk

for my Canon digital camera. I get an error message saying that this software does not work

supports a screen resolution lower than 1024/768 - but my screen resolution is much higher in reality.

Help!

You looked on Canon website to see if there is a patch or an improved version of the software that is compatible with Windows 7?

Look at the Support pages on the website of Canon to see if anyone else had this problem and if they found a solution?

I don't know why you're so reluctant to identify which application is causing the problem.  However, I think it has something to do with the scanner.

From what I understand, the ppbint.dll file (which is what is at the origin of the problem) is associated with a made by Visioneer PaperPort scanner program.  I am not sure, but I think that Canon has an arrangement with Visioneer to use its software with scanning equipment that belongs to your PIXMA MG5320.  (If you're curious, do a search for ppbint.dll and when you find it, do a right click, select Properties, click the Version tab and see what company is listed as the owner.)

Two of the following items describe situations similar to yours but the first only mentions Brother printers (instead Canon) and the second relates to Windows 2000 and Windows NT instead of Windows XP.

However, I suggest you do one printer other than the default printer MG5320.  If you have any other printers, install the generic/text only printer and make it the default.  See the instructions here--> http://support.mfm.com/support/std_procedures/xpgenericprinter.html

    Hi MichelBParis,

    Thank you for our response.

    The exact message is:

"Nothing has been imported.  "The files or selected it to import one or more files did not all types of supported files, or the files are already in this catalogue.

    That's what I thought.

I try to import the file types are CR2 7 JPEG.

? They are raw, extension files. CR2 or JPEG, .jpg extension?

I am looking for the 'my files' in the form of import of items, but the file does not appear.

I made a new file of the sample and he DID appear in the catalog of items.

It is an indication that you really have the files in the catalog.

You may think that the files you want to import are not in the catalog because you don't find them by searching by file name. If you have a file that you cannot import, the first thing is to search by filename in the Organizer. If you don't find anything, this does not mean that they are not already in the catalog.

    Not obvious? Yes.

The reason why that isn't already imported files, it is that they have different names.

The organiser considers files as 'duplicates' if they have the same 'date taken' and size in kilobytes.

So, to be sure, you must define a search with these two criteria query and observe the result. You will be able to check if the found files are visually identical to the ones you can't import now.

The search query, that I mentioned above is looking for details that presents four criteria with the logical operator "AND":

    -date taken is before...

    -date taken is after...

    -file size is more than...

-the file size is less to...

  • Camera profiles and the Canon software

    Hello

Why the photo in Lightroom camera profiles are different than the same style of name chosen in Digital Photo Professional photo? They must produce the same EXACT of the RAW file version. I say that they ARE, because otherwise that's true - who had the true colors (e.g. faithful style is supposed to represent colors exactly if shot at 5200K, yet loyal DPP differs from faithful LR?)

Also, is there a way to convert other image styles we created in profiles in Lightroom perhaps through some use of DNG Profile Editor?

    Thank you

    Juan

They must produce the same EXACT of the RAW file version.

The profiles are intended to give approximately the same rendering on the tone and color. You may not return exactly the same thing that Canon uses proprietary algorithms that cannot use Lightroom. Profiles approximately just those who use RAW of Lightroom conversion engine. Also, they come only close if you use the default settings of your camera, so not a priority to highlight, no saturation added, etc. If you want exactly the same thing, shoot jpeg or convert the raw for tiff in DPP. That said, my experience is that the corresponding profiles of the camera very close to off-camera as long as you do not change styles.

I say that they ARE, because otherwise that's true - who had the true colors (e.g. faithful style is supposed to represent colors exactly if shot at 5200K, yet loyal DPP differs from faithful LR?)

None of the styles of Canon gives accurate. This is not what they are supposed to do. They are supposed to be visually appealing, which differs very precise. Faithful is not really correct color target scene. See for some measures than on one of the more specific cameras, the Canon 5 D mk II, here. How to get the correct color, if that's what you are interested, is to shoot a colorchecker chart and use free Adobe's DNG profile editor to generate a profile calibrated for your camera.

Also, is there a way to convert other image styles we created in profiles in Lightroom perhaps through some use of DNG Profile Editor?

Lol would be nice, but is not currently possible without a lot of manual work. You can shoot a colorchecker and comparing the rendering in the DNG profile editor to the DPP in visually and using the tools of patch, you might be able to get there, but this will be very tedious. I think if we could give DNG Profile Editor, a different target that made perfect of the colorchecker, because at the present time, the only way to do it is Visual.

I have windows XP Professional on my computer and today installed software camera Canon IXUS117HS on it, unfortunately, whenever I connect the camera via the USB port it will fail to recognize the 'Canon Utilities CameraWindow DC' software to upload photos to the ZoomBrowser EX software sister so I can change it, print, e-mail, etc. It produces a message error, says that he has to close and to tell microsoft about this problem.   I spent over an hour with supported Canon, who refused to ring me back (0844 number) and when I rang back after having tried various USB ports, various uninstals and restalls and download a patch for a 115HS camera having unsuccessfully - said it was my fault for registry and windows and called Microsoft.  Can anyone suggest what wrong here please?  I have no trouble seeing the photos in windows imaging and the format of my photos and the SoomBrowser them picks up automatically but the Camera Window DC software just doesn't work.  Summer of back to the store and got another set of software disks but still the same.    Can someone help me, ripping my hair out to had dealing with this every day now.

    Dear Marilyn

I'm not completely computer literate and so on to reading your response, I called a friend who is a guru and he said that you had gone to a lot of trouble and gave very good advice, but also, it considered that - to my skill level - you could go down a very dark road - while he was in agreement with me that I must forget just the Canon software , which is rubbish because he should have had these 'libraries' in the software to set my computer as I downloaded it and just use Microsoft software to process photos on the camera, he believes.

I will thank you to go to so much trouble to find a solution for me - it is much appreciated.

Take a look at VueScan. Your CS5600F is presented as a supported scanner.

After the installation of El Capitan (Canon 4400F) scanner my driver fails. Now it's a 6 lb paper weight. Tried to reinstall the Canon software and downlading new from Canon, but nothing.

First contact Canon for a possible upgrade.

Then try to use the printers and Scanners pane in the system preferences application to see if it will recognize your scanner. Many current scanners is recognized and you can scan with the application overview.

If none of these help to look into Hamrick VueScan software. I use Vuewscan with my is further supported the scanner Nikon 4000ED.

  • Download problems image cable Canon camera

I have a brand new computer laptop Mac Book Pro with OS El Capitan, and I am trying to download my pictures from my compact camera Gx1 to the laptop via the camera download cable. Of course I've already installed the Canon Canon Utilities Window /Camera of its CD image software (has been attached to the camera when it was purchased). (The Canon EOS Utility software, which I also installed it, is exclusively for my Canon EOS camera models). However, the download of the image does not work either.

Images are downloaded into the folder Mac (program?) "Bilder" (*) (Images (?) in the version of Mac OS English?) where I certainly don't want to, I want to download my images in my own folder structure that distinguishes for example camera model/date photo taken/RAW files or jpeg etc. The folder Mac (program?) "Bilder" (Images (?) in the version of Mac OS English?) may be authorized to store the images simple iPhone 6s I take, but certainly not Raw files of my actual cameras!

(*) "Bilder" (Images (?) a multicolored a little icon circle in the operating system Mac - Mac (program?) file

The thing very strange, as the first two weeks of use my brand new computer computer laptop Mac Book Pro, the image download to the Mac via the cable from my camera Canon G1x worked as planned, but AFTER I once (the first time ever to purchase date computer I tried to upload pictures to my iPhone 6 s new Mac) I downloaded images to the Mac from my iPhone 6 s via the cable of the iPhone, the camera G1x download system image failed. I seems as if my download of images from the iPhone 6 s "Insider" start-up of the Mac OS (program) folder

the 'Pictures' folder (Images (?) in English Mac OS version?) and the laptop Mac assumes that I want to download all the images, as for example my G1x camera RAW files in the 'Pictures' folder (Images (?) in the version of Mac OS English?).. . DEFINITELY NOT!

I am terribly frustrated now and do not feel the I get any understanding or assistance from Apple support.

This description of the problem will also be sent to the camera of Canon Inc., informing them of my issues with Mac OS El Capitan.

Someone experienced with Mac, a friend of mine, said that "as usual, Apple"cache"the images and makes them normally inaccessible in the Finder. If you want to work wth them in another program (also), you must export the images of "Bilder" * (Images ()) - not at all practical, which means that two copies of images.

Joined 9 screenshots - .png and .jpg files (. png files show how Mac views are displayed, show the .jpg files "how it should be regarded with correct download cables", the screenshots of the interface come however from a laptop with XP Home, not Mac OS operating system.

The first two weeks of work with my Mac, the 'Download desired cable interfaces"WERE EVEN in what concerns the PC referred to above.

    Hi CanalogSE,

Welcome to the communities of Apple Support! I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with your new Mac. You're talking about the 'Bilder' application seems to be the new application Photos, replacement of preparations on the previous iPhotos. If you wish, you can read more about it here:

    Apple OS X - pictures.

Start with Photos for OS X - Apple support

From your description, it seems that if you have connected your iPhone to import your photos, she may have inadvertently changed the overall picture import settings by launching Photos for the first time (since importing default photos for devices iOS in El Capitan's Photos). If you want to change the application for importing photos by default for when you connect your Canon Gx1 (for example, for the Canon software), you should be able to get rid of it in another application called Image Capture; I'm not clear what would be the name translated, but it should have this icon:

    Image Capture help

In the Image Capture with your camera connected, you should see an option in the lower left corner to opens the connection this [device]: which will allow you to select your preferred; application If you don't see this, you may need to click on the the icon to display these options.

  • Need software to transfer pictures to a PC Win 8.1 to intelligently

Hi, I'm a newbie here and happy to have found the jury.

I have several Canon digital cameras and have managed to get the images from the cameras for Windows XP and 7 PC systems via USB without problem. Transfer software would: 1) refers to the location of storage on the PC, 2) images to give a name, 3) remove the image from the camera when you are finished. Maybe there are other options available.

Windows 8.1 is an integrated application named camera and Canon has a suite of programs in CameraWindowDC. Both give the same result when the camera is set on the PC. The PRO 8.1 Windows system recognizes the camera model and transferres images. There are no options for the destination folder, name, or delete offered. The images are stored by date group in system folder for images.

Any suggestions on the localization of the previously managed software download? I am ignorant on this subject. Was it Microsoft or Canon. If Canon, it is perhaps on the disks that came with cameras. The name?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

    Bill

    Hi Bill,

You can set the destination folder when you connect your device to your computer.  When the CameraWindow opens, click on the gear icon on the top of the left side of the window.  On the next page, click on the 'Import' tab, then choose "Folder settings" select the destination folder.

For more information about the location of the Canon software, please let us know what Canon camera you have.

  • PIXMA MX920 on another subnet not detected with installed software

Hello, could someone install a Pixma MX920 network on a different subnet from the PC using the installation of Canon software?

I have a user who has purchased a Canon Pixma MX920 and strive to set up the printer to work with a wired LAN connection. I have configured a static IP address for the printer and easily can ping and access the Web INTERN of the Pixma page.  We are a school and have a lot of features, so we have a separate VLAN for printers and other deivces.  For example, the printers IP address is 192.168.1.20 and the customer has 192.168.0.195 (it comes to 24 networks).  Canon, install the software from the CD (v1.1) through most of the process and then runs its program of network which fortunately says he found nothing and will not let me type in the IP address.  Also, I used the Pixma Web page to disable IPv6 because I could not understand how to do it from the console printer (the printer is so strong with each key that I didn't spend time to play with him).  For what it's worth, the printer is on firmware 2.020 as reported by the Web page as well.

I tried to install with Windows, which allows me to type the IP address, but when Windows detects the printer, he could not say what kind of NIC using the printer was and I've not seen a way to add something to this list.  FYI, I have already installed the printer drivers, it is a separate step when Windows tries to determine how to communicate with the NETWORK card in the printer.  So far, only one computer is connected via USB and works very well for a computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if is to say that this printer is ONLY intended for home networks with a subnet and a few devices.

Thank you for your response.  I agree that a printer with a DHCP assigned IP would be unusable.  I've already put the printer with a static IP address (which is why I mentioned 192.168.1.20).  We have 300 wired computers and about 500 wireless devices, as well as several in network printer, so we use different subnets (this is why I mentioned the 24 CIDR nomenclature, which means that we have our to 255.255.255.0 for the cable networks subnet mask).

Anyway, I don't have Windows to install the printer as a device of Web Services, but it was very slow.  What I did to get the Canon intall software to work was to put the PC on the same network as the printer (if the pc went from DHCP to use 192.168.1.195) and the Canon software was perfectly happy to install correctly.  Once I changed the rear PC network, everything continued to work properly.

So the right answer, in this case, is, "the installation of Canon software search subnet of the PC for printers, it does not have time to research all possible networks, which would be quite an intensive task.  The solution would be to allow the user to manually in an IP address when the detection of the printer fails, or tell customers not to buy from home printers for commercial use.

    Hi Mcartwright2,

In an effort to be more respectful of the environment, Canon releases manuals on the CD-ROM disc supplied with new cameras.  Canon package not this unit with bound & printed manuals.

When you install the Canon software on your computer, a PDF version of the manual for your camcorder is also installed.

  • I have a MacBook Pro and a Canon MX452. I have updated the OS on my MacBook at Yosemite 10.

I own a Canon MX452 and a MacBook Pro (2010 model). This week I've updated the MacBook to Yosemite 10.10.3 operating system. Subsequently, I found the printer / scanner functions would not work. I have topped up the printer CD and was also invited to download drivers charge more on the Canon site, which I chose the ICA and the Canon IJ Network Tool V4.5.0 pilot V4.0.0 (don't know if they are good or not).

I managed to get the printer works when you use the USB cable to the printer. I couldn't get the printer and the scanner works wireless. The light shows blue printer that is connected to my network ok. I also noticed my iPad and iPhone does not "see" the printer either.

I deleted and re-charge the Canon software several times. I followed the instructions of Canon for:

-Connect the MacBook to the router with a ethernet cable and go through the instructions to 'connect' the Canon MX452. But eventually, the MacBook says the Canon MX452 is 'offline' and I can only get it to work with the USB connection.

Any guidance would be most appreciated me for:

-get the printer and the scanner works wireless

-get the Air-Print function works with the iPhone and iPad
