  Well, Microsoft does not provide this 'feature', is not something that I can point directly to and tell how to configure.  I will say that most of the time, companies who put this on computers (like Samsung) it will put under the control panel in the keyboard or (oddly) the mouse settings.

  You could also open your Start menu and search for programs / the startup folder to see if any regard to appears.
  Another place to check is the notification area of the taskbar clock.  Open this popup it and find all the icons that could be the caps lock/keyboard notifier.  If you know, do a right click for options leave, close, or disable it.

  This notification is managed by BTTray.exe process. You must change the following registry entries to ged rid of this ugly alert:

  Press the Windows key and type 'regedit' > go to

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Widcomm > BTConfig > General > KeyIndication

  Change the value of 'KeyIndication' from '1' to '0 '.

  Reset...

  And the wicked notification disappeared!

  This option does not seem to exist anymore.
  But there is a method that still does the trick:
  1. Open regedit
  2. Go HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ keyboard layout
  3. In the right pane, modify/add DWORD32 attributes value
  4. Choose the format Hex and enter 10000
  5. Confirm the value, disconnection and it should work!

  Sorry if this is in the wrong forum; but I don't know who it is.

  I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 running Vista Home Premium 64 Bit.

  The question is when ever I type in another Forum, such as this one; or an email or even a Word document and I activate the "Caps" lock - it will get the sentence I type and I have the mouse to where I was.

  I know that I get a notification "on the screen", but what the hell is happening? It shouldn't start me the sentence when I type.

  I searched for hours and finally comes to join this community. So is it a Vista problem or a problem of Dell?

  You have Dell Quickset, installed on your system? Have you looked inside for a parameter disable the notification?

  EDIT: According to this thread, it is certainly a matter of quick adjustment... They solved by uninstalling QuickSet, but there may be a QuickSet setting to disable the notification...

  Once installed, you can proceed as follows:

  > Click Start
  > keyboard in the search field type
  > double click on keyboard options
  > on the settings tab of the key, go to the list of key parameters
  > Locate and double-click CAPS LOCK
  > in the menu, you should see where it says "State LOCK SHIFT display on screen.
  > Click on the checkbox, then click on finish

• That gray box that indicates the volume (not the slider) does not, either made the caps lock notification.

  I don't know what it's called, or I would have probably been able to know how to solve this problem, already, but this is the box that appears momentarily on the screen when I press the volume buttons; It does not appear.  Also when lock shift was there was (before my relocation at all, I think) was a notification similar to the volume box that is not displayed.  I thought that these two things might be related, so I wonder about the two.  Thank you.

  I work with a client non-profit which owns 5 computers customers, 3 2 WIndows 7 and Windows XP. They are all trying to access a new workstation Windows 7 Pro. All users can access shares without problem for a little while. Windows 7 clients do not see these questions at all so far. However, Windows XP clients remove connection sharing at least daily. A restart of the computer solves the problem temporarily. The problem comes at least every day. I tried to change the size of IRP stack by article 285089 without success. I also put the XP clients do NOT use Simple file sharing. On the Windows 7 machine, I add the LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy key in the registry (value 1). Changes have had no effect. Each customer has their own connection with password to action. The error message on the client is: an error occurred when connecting F: to \\share\sharename. Microsoft WIndows Network: The specified server cannot perform the requested operation. This connection has not been restored. "Other attempts give"share name is not accessible. Not enough server storage is available to process this command. "All the machines have been updated. This problem seems to get worse with time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
