  Hello

  I have been using Captivate today without any problems.  Evening, I had to go back and cannot start the application.  It let's me click it and nothing happens.

  Is the best plan of action to uninstall and reinstall the program?  If so, is there anything that I'd be suspicious when you do?  Did I lose my Captivate files?

  Feeling a little anxious so any advice is greatly appreciated.

  You will not lose your Captivate files, they must be stored in your Documents folder (hope that's on your system, or you did change the default paths in the preferences?). First try a few other workflow before reinstalling:

  • Clear cache, but probably because CP doesn't start at all, you will not be able to use the button in the preferences. Keep the default path for the Cache folder?
  • Cleaning preferences: this is possible without start CP. Run the CleanPreferences file that corresponds to your operating system, are in the subfolder "Utils" under the CP installation folder. You have access to this folder (depends on your rights)? If this isn't the case, will give an alternative.
  • Run the Captivate as Administrator: who do you have?
  • If you have access to the installation folder, you may be able to find the exe file and try to run it from there?

  I had to reset my OS for some reason and I wanted to just reinstall my Dreaweaver CS5 and my Photoshop CS5 (do not have the money to buy a newer version yet).

  Seems too easy, because all that I need is available on my account on the Adobe home page.

  ... huh, uh... No, actually.

  The downloaded installer reminds me that I bought version CS3 upgrade (on September 15, 2013) (bought on September 2, 2007) in CS5.
  And then she refuses to go forward for not finding a former Adobe product (which is not surprising on a recently distributed to zero computer). So I changed my plan to install my first Dreamweaver CS3 upgrade there still CS5.

  Good idea, bad timing.

  Impossible to find Dreamweaver CS3 download more.

  So, what can I do now to get my beloved Dreamweaver CS5 (and Photoshop CS5) bought the same day back?

  Any helpful suggestions welcome!

  Hi all!

  I tried to reinstall my adobe captivate 9.0 on my PC that I recently uninstalled but the software requires the serial number of the product that I have ever received. So I couldn't reinstall the application on my system. I'm on a recurring monthly for a period of one year and I received emails from adobe asking me to update my credit card information. Could someone please advise on how to on this subject?

  If you have a subscription license, sign in with your Adobe ID (the one used for the subscription). Install the trial version of Captivate and when you start, your ID will be recognized.

• Adobe Captivate 5 freezing & crashing

  I recently installed Adobe® Captivate® 5, but so far failed to use it.

  When I select preferences... from the menu, Adobe Captivate, the application crashes and I find myself with the icon of the wheel that turns indefinitely.  So I left without apparent option, but to force him to leave.

  Furthermore, if I jump directly to create new... Software Simulation, the application seems to save for a few seconds before inexplicably crashing.

  Here's my spec of machine:

  OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

  iMac (27 inch, mid 2011)

  Processor: Intel Core i5 at 2.7 GHz

  Memory: 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

  Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6770 M 512 MB

  I tried to uninstall / reinstall, but still the same problems.

  Anyone have any suggestions for a solution, please?

  Captivate 5 is too old for this version of the OS waaaayyyyy.

  My suggestion is that you update the latest version of Captivate instead and save yourself a lot of anguish trying to Cp5 to work on an operating system for which it was never designed to be compatible.

  I lost so many hours on this today so I really hope you guys can help me! I have two Captivate 8 and 9 installed on my Mac and they both worked perfectly well even not later than yesterday. Now when I try to open a Captivate 8 he finished the process of opening with the exception of the file is not on the screen.   I have tried several different files in Captivate 8 and all had the same problem.

  It seems that if the file opens "off screen" which I know can be a problem with Mac s when you use two screens as I am. I tried every single problem I could find for it but none of them have worked.

  When I open the Captivate 8 opening with recent docs screen shows fine. When I choose a file it has the file loading screen and I get even the message on some elements are not used, but after that there is nothing.

  I tried upgrading my operating system is all that far.

  I reinstalled 8 Captivate.

  I also lost my will to live.

  Please help me! Anyone had this before? How did you solve this problem?

  (I need 8 and 9 that I have clients who are still on 8 and some that are on 9)

  Hi Lilybiri, I have just finally he fixed after 8-10 hours to try everything! You were certainly on the right track with the issue of preferences. Cordially if someone else asks, I went to ~/Library/Preferences and deleted both the plist for captivate file and a folder called Captivate 8

  I had deleted the file yesterday but not the folder so it had not worked.

  Such a relief to work again! Thanks for your help.
