  I have a new backup disk (a disk of 5 TB of Seagate) and could use help setting up with CCC.

  I did in the past without problem, but I want to assure you of a few things:

  1. This particular drive has software available in a folder on the disk backup (w / the PC and Mac versions). But... I intend to use this disk as an exact copy of my iMac HD; It must also be bootable.
  2. Should I format the drive with disk utility? Or load the software to the CCC on the disk and just leave their only backup software?
  3. One last question: I also have a MacBook Air, an iPad and an iPhone. I want to save them as well. Should I put them on separate partitions, I created? Or can we just one big happy family? The last is best.

  One last piece of information: two computers, etc, were all backed up via Time Machine. My data the most important, photos, etc., are also saved on deposit box and/or iCloud on a regular basis.

  Delete and partition the drive by making a separate partition for each computer. The iPad and the iPhone is useless their own partition because they back up using iTunes and would appear in the clone of the computer that you use for each save. Each partition must be the size of the current cloned drive that can leave you with additional partitions for other stuff. Then format the drive Mac OS Extended journaled. Do not install any software that came with the drive, none of this is necessary.

  I use a very similar setup with a 3 TB drive. I clone my boot SSD in a single partition, my drive internal 1 Tb in a second, my Macbook to a third party, and I have a fourth partition which is currently empty, because I haven't decided what to do with it yet. I also have a 3 to Apple Time Capsule.

• Impossible to duplicate to external hard drive using the CCC

  Hi all

  I wanted to make a clone of my HD, because it started acting weird lately and decided not to make a clone of it when I get a new HD, but when I use ccc I select my boot drive (the one doubtful), then my drive external usb (2 TB) as my destination and copy everything BUT after 4 hours no progress but 4 points work but nothing is transferred. I formatted the external hard drive as it should be set to format less 10.8 in disk utility. So what I'm doing wrong here? Is there an easy way to do it? I think that I have V. 3.5 ccc, y at - it a bug with this version? BTW, my external hard drive is a USB 3 but compatible for 2 and my mac has no problem reading and writing to it. Any help with this or other means or programs to clone my drive is welcome.

  Have you checked for an update of the CCC?

  Have you considered Time machine? You can restore from that.

  Try using disk/restore to copy the data to a new location. Please note that this will reformat the destination partition.

  Recently, I was unable to open on my laptop Toshiba Satellite A210 - 1 4 ATI Catalyst Control Center. When I click the icon of the CCC on the start menu, the icon opens but when I right click on it and select Catalyst Control Center nothing happens but the icon is still there.

  I had a similar problem a while ago but instead of doing nothing, the splash screen appears, and then Vista displays the message "ATI CCC has stopped working".

  If Catalyst Control Center won t open, it could be something wrong with the display driver I would recommend reinstalling the the official website of Toshiba display driver:

  Simply search your laptop model and download the new version. Before installing, remove the old first and restart your laptop. Then install the downloaded version.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite A500 - 14l with a mobility radeon HD4650.

  I have replace Vista by Windows 7 in September 2009 (thanks to msdnaa), installed the latest driver I found. A few months pass, I decided to update my graphics driver. As you can see, there is no updated driver for Windows 764-bit for my laptop model psam3e.

  I tried the catalyst 10.7 (8.753) to use the acceleration of the ITA with vlc 1.1.1 so I cheat, I claim that my laptop was a L670-psk3ee to get a 8.712.2.1 version of catalyst.
  That works very well, and it's the only way I found to get a 'almost' updated driver. Then, I installed the Hydravision game.amd.com site (because it is not included in the driver from toshiba).
  Now, entrance to the CCC in the right click is absent, and the hydravision tab is missing in the CCC too. I never see this problem before, so if someone has an idea...

  * With the help of Windows 7 64 bit and day, except ati driver because of politics of toshiba.
  * ccc means Catalyst Control Center. the shortcut in "all programs" works very well.
  * Hydravision is a useful tool to manage the multi desktop and display. As there is no entry in the CCC I can't set it up, but the multi-Bureau exe works very well also.

  Everything works fine on my computer (laptop), so I think that the problem came from driver Toshiba (as AMD cannot provide a generic because of the specific feature added by toshiba, like monitoring the temperature & cie). I'm so interesting in the ability to add CCC on the shortcut menu and add the Hydravision tab to the CCC.
  PS 2: I already uninstall - registry clean - reinstall the driver Ati & hydravision, it does not work.

  You can t use AMD drivers directly because they are designed only for cards of office. There is no mobile driver that works with a graphics card for laptop. I think that's the reason why the CCC entry is missing.
  Please remove this driver and install the official version of the Web from Toshiba site.

  But a point would be interesting to know:
  Why you trying to update the display driver? If everything is working properly, no update is necessary! :)

• Cannot delete files from USB HDD CCC attached to Time Capsule

  I use an external DRIVE (WD MyBook Studio) disc that contains two partitions: "CCC-Backup' (where Carbon Copy Cloner stores its backups/clones) and 'Media' (for my movie collection). This HARD drive was attached to my iMac, but now I have the seal to a Time Capsule via USB. Both partitions appear in the Finder and I can see all the data. So far so good.

  Now, I want to set up my backup of CCC from scratch. To free up space, delete the contents of the old 'CCC Backup' partition. First of all, I see a message like "XXX.XXX current objects of deletion":

  

  But then, after a while, I receive a message telling me that the deletion failed because I do not have the appropriate privileges (I am admin on my iMac, however).

  I have no idea if this is a related question CCC or if it could be due to the fact that the HARD drive is now connected to the time Capsule? Could someone please give me a tip how I'll be able to remove the old CCC where backup files?

  When the hard drive is plugged into the TC it indeed belongs to the TC. You must create a directory on the drive of your computer to be the owner of this particular directory. But what you do when the drive is connected to your computer is ignored when plugged into the network, it is owned by the network device.

  So the solution is very simple... Plug it into your computer, wipe the partition and then plug it into the TC.

  You must use sparsebundle then CCC for backup. It is important to understand that the CCC as Time Machine backup impossible similarly to a network drive.

• CCC.exe is not closed properly - Satellite A135

  am running Vista Home Edition on a laptop Toshiba Satellite A-135.
  Often, when I stop, I get a screen saying that the ccc.exe file does not close.

  This program has to do with the display on the screen, I know, but I don't know why it isn't close.
  What happens next is a bit weird to watch: most of the black screen, or a ghost of my desktop image can stroll, while the taskbar flashes.
  It goes on for a minute or two, then finally the closing of Vista screen and it stops as it should.

  But it seems to take much longer to stop when this sequence does not occur.

  CCC.exe is the "Catalyst Control Center and it belongs to the ATI graphics adapter driver."
  I m not very well why it's disorders, but you can first try to clean the registry using the CCleaner.
  If this is not enough, then you could try to reinstall

• CCC vs Finder for copy of large directories

  I wonder what the pros and cons are to use an application like Carbon Copy Cloner to copy large directories of one disk to another (in this case, two external hard drives USB leads). I do not think now to clone a bootable drive/partition (I've done that too), but only to copy large batches of files (images or music files).

  Benefits seem to me that you can record tasks and repeat them; If there are changes of source CCC will only add incremental changes (the finder doesn't know this but I guess you could check the box that asks if a file exists on the destination do not, copy all of these files). I don't know that the CCC are control, etc., or that the Finder doesn't do this.

  I can't imagine not disadvantages. I don't think or the other method is faster the first time around.

  The only benefits from the use of CCC is that it retains all privileges for each file transferred and it is faster than the Finder is. I use CCC as my main backup tool. For cloning I recommend using disk utility when possible because it clones automatically any Recovery HD partition on a volume bootable, unlike CCC. CCC can create a Recovery HD, but apart from normal cloning.

  I uninstall the old drivers of 6770 m CCC & AMD, reboot the laptop and install a new one, stop and try again.

  After the restart, I tried to change the map AMD in vain.

  I went back to my old driver & software CCC.

  I want to know how to install the latest driver of 6770 M AMD & CCC software?

  I understand that you installed the new driver AMD and the CCC, but could not pass the card to AMD.

  The steps listed, it seems that the HP driver has initially been uninstalled.  If the system has a switchable graphics, do NOT the HP driver uninstall.  A new driver to replace the old driver and no real need to uninstall.  If it is uninstalled, it is possible, that this could damage the switchable graphics system.  If it gets corrupted, then the only way to fix that is to perform a full recovery of the system.  I hope that it has not been damaged.  There is a way to upgrade the driver from AMD website and I will give you the steps in this process.  The steps will be listed for targeting a general audience that there could be others viewing this thread, but does not.

  First of all, do NOT the HP driver uninstall.  See my note listed above.  Second, make sure that .NET Framework 4 is installed as required for the latest drivers.  As long these two elements are met, the AMD driver should be ready to be installed.  However, the pilot desktop must be installed instead of the mobile driver where possible.  The pilot office usually includes the mobile version of the pilot as well.  During the installation of the driver, choose custom rather than express or auto.  Not uncheck the driver if you want the latest driver.  Custom will show what needs to be installed.  As long as the items are listed, then it should be ready to install.

• How do I enter Catalyst Control Centre (ccc)?

  I have a HP Pavilion dv7-1130us notebook with Windows (64-bit) operating system and the processor AMD Turion x 2.  When I try to open up to "ccc", "advance ccc", "Assistant CCC', 'ccc aid' or"ccc by characteristic display", Windows opens and says: ' Catalyst Control Center: the host application has stopped working."  A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly.  When I click on the button to close the progam, DEP (data excution prevention) turns off.

  This problem can be fixed easily; Please goto programs and featuresand uninstall the AMD Catalyst Install Manager. Then please goto this site: http://www.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDHomePage.aspx in the upper right corner of this site it states: SUPPORT AND DRIVERS;  and directly below is: find a driver Please highlight this area with your pointer to extend the window and launch: Autodetect driver drop down and click: Driver Autodetect this will launch pilot Autodetect and move the window. Please goto the right side of the new window and choose Download Driver Autodetect, do not run it but save it on your desktop or where ever you will be, the scanner and then restart your laptop. I have to say now that pilot Autodetect is actually the beginnings of the new 12.4 CCC then after restarting your laptop, please make sure that the laptop is connected to the internet first and then double-click Autodetect driver file to launch the new CCC, make sure to follow all directions and accept. That should do it.

  To access the CCC by the bureau, click any where clearly on the desktop and then click on CCC.

  I can't install the latest ccc for my laptop IE 13.251.Whenever the installation process ends and I restart my pc, I see the old 13.152.I tried to delete all the software and driver, but it still can't.

Here is a link to theHP Support Assistant. The HP Support Assistant helps with the update of drivers. The latest version of the software from AMD is not necessary to work from your laptop.

  Hi TFossil,

  It's not malware - it is a legitimate program.  Why it does not close when you close it down is another issue - I'm not sure about this.  I guess it's possible, it's perhaps because of malware (malicious software can cause almost anything), but I tend to doubt.  I'm more inclined to believe there is a problem with device drivers or maybe some corrupt system or program files.

  This is the program file for the Catalyst Control Center (associated with the ATI radeon card).  Here is an article explaining the program, what it does, how to disable or stop leaving, how to remove this and other related information: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/8679/what-is-ccc.exe-and-why-is-it-running/.

  To simply update the ATI drivers, see: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx.  You can also update your version of the Catalyst Control Center as well - make sure you're there.  To find the version you have, it is normally in the Help menu, about CCC, but in case of doubt, then just get the most recent version applicable to your card and your version of Windows and see if that helps.  It can't hurt to do this (update drivers and software are always good to have), but I would try personally follows first to see if that solves the problem.  If so, and I think it is, then you can always do the updates under less pressure (but don't please don't ignore what updates can also help in other ways).

  You should be able to stop the Catalyst Control Center to start at startup by clicking on start / all programs / accessories / run and type msconfig.exe, and then enter. Go to the Startup tab and look for the Catalyst Control Center and uncheck the box next to it to keep it from running at the next startup. Save the changes and reboot. The system will now start without this program, so it will run only if you manually open the program to make changes (if needed or desired) and since it is not running, it won't be there to close to stop. I'm not 100% certain (but very, very close) that you don't need the program for the card to function properly, but I sincerely doubt. I have something similar (a Catalyst Control Center for my ATI card) and do not have this program running (I removed it from the start almost immediately and I don't really know if I never actually used it my video is fine as it is).

• CCC and AMD graphics card failed after the driver update

  I have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop 6 c-32eg.

  I recently tried to update my GPU driver, as was necessary to run a particular program (oclHashcat, if you're interested). I downloaded the installer from hereand he ran. It looks good, but after the required reboot, the screen resolution has been set at 800 x 600, instead of the usual 1366 x 768. Then, I got an error message saying something in the sense of "your AMD driver could not be installed because you do not have the required equipment. In Device Manager the GPU was something like "usinig windows has stopped this device because it has reported an error."

  If I try to open the CCC, the program runs for several minutes, with a relatively high CPU usage in the Task Manager, then the message "' Catalyst Control Center: the host Application has stopped working". "

  I have now tried different ways to solve this problem, which none have worked. Try to download a driver on the AMD website did not work, because the site said that the pilot was not appropriate for a computer with switchable graphics.

  Hello

  There may be a 3rd option left that you can try for one more set to gpu driver updates, but I would first get your system to a State where the switchable graphics work correctly.

  Try restoring the system first.

  If this does not work, the driver package AMD (containing two gpu drivers) you need can be downloaded from HP on the following link.

  In this case being able to find a game more set to driver updates, many people with your type of switchable graphics succeeded with the offers on the 3rd party site - I strongly recommend to read the Manual to get an understanding of how it works and why driver signature enforcement must be disabled in order to load these drivers.
