If this does not try to restore your computer.
I should say that you cannot restore your computer at the same time that you bought
But you can restore at the time wherever your DVD-ROM was working normal.
Click on "Start" Type System Restore and press enter and then select a different restore point and select the dates of your DVD-ROM was working normal and click Next.

DVD player not recognized; error code 10
Our Museum has a Dell Optiplex 745 on which the XP operating system has been replaced by Windows 7 Professional. The DVD drive is not recognized, and the error code 10 stipulates that the driver could not be loaded. I tried upgrading the driver online, but I was told that the driver installed is the right one for this player. If I remove the drive with the machine on, uninstall the driver, stop and then restart and then restarting to reinsert the DVD, the computer recognizes the drive and install it and it works. When you restart the computer the next morning, the car disappeared again. Would appreciate any help I can get!
Thank you!

DVD player not working error registry (Code19)
My DVD drive has stopped working. Device Manager displays an error - "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information for configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (Code 19). I tried to use the search for Solutions, but he found nothing. I tried to turn off the drive (in Device Manager) and restart - the same error. I have attached an external DVD drive - both drives had the error. I ran Registry Mechanic who reports that there are no problems with the registry! Nortons diagnosis reports the 'Fail' error using the VxD (Code 19) charger. I found a few useful solutions on the internet (which related to XP but I am on VISTA) who suggested to remove some values in the registry (using REGEDIT) and then restart. I tried - but same running REGEDIT as an administrator, it wouldn't let me delete the entries. A friend suggested using the Windows disk - but I did not - the machine came with the OEM software and no disc. I have created a recovery disk, but I don't know if this can work as a Windows disc. I certainly don't want to do a full restore, if I can avoid it - last time that is is past that it took "Recover My Files" about a week to fully scan my drive and recover what she could. Someone at - it ideas? Thank you
Hello
19 code means there is a driver conflict such as two devices attempt to use the same resources.
Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack.Normally the above will solve this problem otherwise working your way down through them, even if you did
them before.Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

DVD burner not burning CD or DVD
My written rewritable DVD's more CD or DVD. You can still read the data. I tried fixing it by using the Microsoft Knowledgebase article located at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 that does not solve the problem that there is no Lowerfilters entry in my registry as suggested in the article. Does anyone know if there is a problem with a Microsoft Update, because I have seen this problem on the other 4 PC?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hello ScreamSaver,
Thank you for your message. We will first go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer and download/install the latest driver for your computer's CD/DVD. A clean boot is going to start your computer without any 3rd party applications. In Device Manager, I got the error "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19). All you have to do to avoid this error, code19 is to uninstall Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator and Toshiba Recovery Disk reminder. I thought that it had been uninstalled before that I've updated but I was wrong. I just uninstall both and hey presto it works :) -

Satellite L450D - cd/dvd player not recognized: error code 39
Hello
drive my laptop has disappeared from the 'my computer' screen and will not load disks; You can hear it turns as it plays, but then nothing comes. I checked for it Device Manager, and it comes up with the message "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) ».I tried to update the drivers for it, but windows says I have correct and up-to-date drivers installed. I can't seem to find the drivers for it on the toshiba site and to be honest I'm not entirely sure to try to uninstall and reinstall the drivers without a bit of comfort that I have the correct driver. I'm tempted just to do a system restore, but I have a lot of things stored on the laptop that I (stupidly!) have not backed up yet and can actually copy in the distance the system on disk, because the hard drive does not work...
If there is a way to access installing the correct driver for the disc drive, and then uninstall the damaged one and reinstall the right pair, I prefer to do that.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you
