CD/DVD drive clicks even its empty

because I've had my turn, and it's less than 2 weeks, my heart DVD sound even thought it is empty...
I heart it a lot from time to time «about every 15 minutes or 30"»

It's weird! and is this a problem, so I get the warranty?

Sorry, but it is not easy to understand your ad.
You should contact Toshiba service in your country and clarify this strange problem.

I don't understand you at all.

  • No CD/DVD drive detected in Device Manager

I have a hp pavilion dv9925nr portable laptop, running windows vista Home premium, service Pack2.  cd/dvd driver is missing, its not even appears in the Device Manager to all, I tried to scan for it and no luck.   I know it works, I tried the fix it install and I've been in the registry and remove filters superiors, he showed no low filters.  I even put the computer back to factory settings and the dvd player worked fine.  the only thing that worked for a while was to uninstall the game fast and install the latest version and it was working fine but now after a few updates his party once again and now reinstall quick play does not work either.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

You can check for them in the update history.

    (b) in the left pane, click view update history.

  • Satellite L50D-B - faulty DVD drive does not recognize discs

Bought 2 months ago. The reader agrees not the CD, DVD or anything like that.
The name of the drive does not appear on the disc and if you double click on the DVD drive icon (even if a disc is inserted) the drawer opens and says please insert a disk. I tried several discs are not the issue.

So far I got technical support where I bought it.
They said to do a reinstall I did - with the full drive clean. I tried to update the drivers, but the computer insists on the fact that they are later. If I search my model number on the site of Toshiba driver support he gets rejected, and I have no access to (Toshiba) drivers.

I checked a few other forums and tried the regedit fix, but which is also irrelevant. If no solution is found (and I've lost hours of my life on this subject) then this laptop is going back for a refund and I'll get one who will perform the simple task of playing a DVD.

    Hello

Sorry to hear that you have such a stupid problem with your machine. On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here.
In my opinion you should not waste your time checking and search for some drivers who probably will not help at all.

Reinstall the original operating system that you have with your machine and test functionality with the factory settings. If the result is the same contact your reseller or Toshiba service provider directly and ask for help. They can check ODD and Exchange if necessary.

  • The CD/DVD drive in my laptop is missing or not detected by my Acer Aspire 4520?

A while ago my laptop Acer fell and the CD/DVD drive pulled after its fall. I thought for sure that it was broken and my laptop. Fortunately it seems not that this was the case and after that put in does what it normally would, the green light would flash and it seemed to work again. However, I never thought not to test with a DVD or CD to see if it actually worked. Is that recently that I started to use CD for games and other and I found the driver to read the discs, but nothing happened thereafter.

Well for some time now, I tried to find a solution to my problem. The driver seems to work, but when it comes to playing the discs it do anything more. Some of my other programs such as Windows Media Player saying that my laptop is missing the driver CD/DVD. I also went to the menu of F2 from the laptop to the startup and after looking around, I find that there is no entry for the CD/DVD drive and that the entry is empty. I'm not sure why my laptop can't detect the drive. I tried many things such as the Microsoft Fix It, but ends up giving me an error saying that some components are not well read or something similar to that.
Any help is greatly appreciated and if there is anything that I can provide for any further help I will do it gladly.
I should also mention that the CD/DVD does not appear in Device Manager.

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

  • faulty internal drive, make noise, even when empty

My internal DVD drive is faulty and continues to make noise as if a disc is stuck in there. The noise stops when the computer goes into mode "Eve". It is an iMac 2007 and probably not worth the cost of a repair. Is it possible to stop the noise by turning off the player or eject it somehow from the hardware list. The computer works perfectly in all other aspects. I guess I could learn to live with the noise, but would rather not if someone out there has a solution. Thank you

You can always buy an optical drive of the correct specification of several sellers &

have one put in, or use an online guide to replace the component yourself.

Identify the exact model of guidance to see what is involved in the restoration of the iMac.

    • iMac repair guide intel - iFixit:

    https://www.iFixit.com/device/iMac_Intel

One of the online sellers whose inventory likely includes an optical replacement

Reader SuperDrive equivalent for the iMac (intel) would be OWC macsales. They also have

some DIY video guides to see how to make various repairs. Generally a little

additional tools would be needed. While the iMac is open for the replacement of this

part, is an opportunity for the battery of the clock to be replaced as well. Maybe even

drive hard replace; hard disk rotation is probably rather worn.

So, it could be a great DIY project, if you went into it knowingly, with the right parts,

tools and patience. Lets have a second machine to check details

the online repair process; guides and video to help.

    In any case...

    Good luck & happy computing!

    Hi NoOneSpeciale,

It is very possible that your CD may be damaged.  Is it possible to get another copy to try on your machine? Or try this copy on another machine to see if it works or not.
Also check in control panel--> system--> for you Device Manager make sure that there is no yellow/red icon next to the CD player and it's function correctly.
