  I think that it s a registry problem.

  Access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

  Reboot the laptop.

  This problem occurred after cleaned your registry using "CCleaner database"? If so, then when running CCLeaner you would have the option to backup the registry keys. If you did, perhaps restore the backup keys. If not, read the article above (do not rely on the fixit).

  Probably, you might want to install an earlier version of the power manager and check. Community mod that agotthelf had confirmed in this thread version Power manager 3.59 works fine with power automatic optical drive option available.

  In general there is no driver to be installed for the optical disc drive.
  It will be much easier to help you if you explain what problem you have with optical disc drive.

  Check in Device Manager to see if your DVD-ROM is listed and if so was it an exclamation mark against it? If it is, then simply remove it from your system and restart. Windows will identify as a new device and install with the correct driver.

  It is also possible that the drive may have 'disappeared' If you have recently removed any software DVD. It is a known issue and a solution is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article: -.

  I m a bit confused how you managed to download the CD/DVD driver for the STRANGE internal (optical disc).
  The point is that all Windows operating systems contain own driver Microsoft ODD that controls the CD/DVD drive.
  That is why it s not necessary to load/install the drivers for the CD/DVD drive.

  I think it s a registry problem.
  You should first go to Device Manager and should remove the CD/DVD of the system drive.

  Next step is cleaning the registry.
  Start regedit and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  After this restart of the unit
