CD player gone missin on T500

More strange. My CD drive does not appear on my computer and can still be seen in the Device Manager. Does not help restart.

Well, he was here yesterday. Suggestions how to retrieve it?

I can't install the new drivers as there is no device to install the drivers in.

Ian

If you can boot to the optical drive, but it is not detected by windows try this fix.

Is there a fix out there for a problem loading the driver for CD/DVD Acer Aspire of the laptop drive?  I have the Aspire 5334 with DVD Super Multi DL drive.

I have a Slimtype DVD A D58A4SH player. He worked for a short time when I got the notebook and then it stopped completely.  There was an exclamation point on the list of devices and when I checked to see if the pilot that it has been updated, he said it was the last updated, etc.  BUT still does not.  I tried to roll back - which did not work.  So I uninstalled the drive completely.  Did a restart and it recognizes the DVD drive and started to install the driver for it.  Says the driver installation failed.  The dvd player is no longer listed in Device Manager.  I tried to go to the download page of support/driver from the Acer website for this brand and the computer model - it does not list DVD drivers at all.   So now I'm confused.  It was a Christmas gift from 2011. So I think that the warranty has expired.  So I'm pretty ticked if I need to replace a failed drive which is just came out barely a month outside the warranty of the year.  Someone out there who has a fix for this problem it will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

I found a FIX for this problem!  Yay!

I had an error Code 39 and did a search on the Microsoft Web site.  Here is the link.  I followed the "method 2" and it worked Finally, got my rear DVD player. Phew!

  • Impossible to uninstall Adobe Flash Player to reinstall later

From last Friday night, I noticed that I could not watch videos on ESPN and CNN. The video boxes were black or a message to d/l Adobe Flash Player. I went to Adobe maybe install a Flash Player update. He went through the installation, but on the page of confirmation, no pattern, or message that it was. By checking the FLASH file, I had (10,0,42,34). So I got the Flash uninstaller for Flash Player update online. I D/L the (Adobe Flash Player ActiveX) to install, but it collapsed because the old version was not removed? So now I can't uninstall Adobe Flash Player and install any Flash drive. I just can not in any way remove or install! I don't know why Adobe Flash Player gone bad. I can't find any resolution online so far. Does anyone know how to get around this problem or how to remove Adobe Flash Player to reinstall and enjoy the sites still...

Hi QSX, must be a full moon, people come out of sorts, including myself :-) I understand the frustration, a little over 50 + messages on another thread with problems and it gets that way on this side of the fence too.

OK, let's see where we are. In your first post, you still had the enumerated 10.0.42.34 vs. I guess, that was the vs you wanted to uninstalled in order to install the last vs 10.0.45.2. If this is the case, then what happened during uninstallation, something prevents installation of vs 10.0.45.2 and when that could not be installed, then the 10.0.42.34 was left in place.

Now that you have installed one of the 10.1 RC, I think its RC6 now. Also, you have tried the SubInACL and it did not work.

The way to sort it, is the last-in first-out. The 10.1 has to be uninstalled, but the installer is for beta versions, not the normal uninstall program. I will post that in a minute. First of all, I see no reason why you can't have (after removing 10.1) vs10.0.45.2 install Flash Player 10. Everything is necessary is to determine what happened the first time, but we can go into that if you want to do.

The reason you get pop ups, is that Web sites are looking for Flash Player 10, not a beta. Or if you do not have the Shockwave Flash Object your add ons. It's the command that works with Flash files.

There is a way to ensure a successful uninstall and install Flash Player, I think in your case, it has not been done correctly.

Here is the link to the site that has the link to uninstall for the 10.1. Page down and you will see the uninstall information.

    http://labs.Adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html

Let's get the 10.1 uninstalled first, don't forget when you finish to Reboot (restart) your computer. I'm not sure but I thot, I read that this program uninstaller to uninstall the on-board version also?

I burned an avi file which was a movie to a blank dvd but therfe was no audio recorded.  What has gone wrong?

    ====================================
There are several types of AVI files, and they can
be problematic. Maybe the info would be
    be interesting reading... good luck.

If you want to just put your video on a DVD for
for archival purposes, you would create a data DVD.

    See the following article:

Windows 7 - burn a CD or DVD in Windows Explorer
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/burn-a-CD-or-DVD-in-Windows-Explorer
(See "to burn a disc using the ISO image format")

To create a video DVD (which will play in)
a free-standing DVD player)... you need DVD
Software authoring as Windows DVD Maker.

    See the following articles:

Windows 7 - burn a video DVD with Windows DVD Maker disc
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/burn-a-DVD-video-disc-with-Windows-DVD-Maker

If you still have problems, the AVI may need to
be converted to WMV format before burning.

There are to many converters available on the net...
some free, some details... the following freeware is
    just an example:

When you have installed Freemake... Open Freemake
and drag and drop your video files on the main screen.

Or... Click left on the video button and navigate to the
your video files are saved in the folder.

Select (highlight) the files you want to import into
Freemake and left, click on the button 'open '.

When video files are imported into Freemake,
On the left, click the WMV icon at the bottom of the screen.

The 'WMV output settings' screen opens.

Choose a folder ' save in ', so you can find the
    converted files.

On the left, click the "Convert" button and wait for the files
    to convert.

    That should do it...

  • Windows Media Player Toolbar gone!

Up until recently (September 2010) on Windows Media Player, there was a little extra toolbar that allowed me to repeat the large or small sections of a guitar tutorial DVD, so that I could watch the action repeatedly playing with her. It was also available for bookmarking to a specific section, so I could go straight to it. It is!  This small extra toolbar disappeared without a trace! Can someone tell me how can I find? I don't speak of orders Stop, Start, Pause, Fast Forward & reverse. It's all there.

In addition, the DVD used to open small screen - in a version it now opens full screen every time. Even if I can reduce the size of the image, it's just another sign of the old program does not as it should. Would be very grateful for any help. Eric - Sydney Australia

  • Flash player 11 (11.1.102.55) turns off every time that I reboot!   Win 7 - Thinkpad T500

The craziest thing happened to my laptop.  I had this problem for about 3 weeks.  Whenever I reboot, Adobe Flash Devils player himself.  I say turn off rather than uninstall since when I look in the section programs under control panel it says Flash Player 11.1.102.55 is here.   But when I try to play something like a YouTube video or anything that requires Flash Player it will not run and wrote "you need to update your Adobe Flash Player" or in the case of a video YouTube integrated into a site it says "Adobe Flash Player or browser HTML5 support is required for video playback.".  I use IE 9 to my browser.  So I have to re - install Flash Player on the laptop, and then I can once again play video.

So I just see next point today when I started my computer in the morning. First time I saw it.   From the start and not to do one thing for the laptop, but startup, Windows gave me a message that says "Installing/uninstalling Flash Player 10.1 Adobe r102 has stopped working".  He then generated some files for me and asked if I wanted to send more infoarmtion on the problem.  One of the files is a .txt file.    The other was a mdmp thread and the other was a .xml file.  The .txt file is copied below.

Can someone help me solve this problem!

    Thank you

  • Satellite Pro L300 series-player Dvd slow running and jumping

    Hello

Having really annoying problems with the DVD player on my laptop. I watched a DVD long enough last night on this matter (about 5 hours!) and it was fine. Now today when I came to watch something else on this subject, it is slow really. It took about 10 minutes to start, and I continued to hear 3 beeps followed by slightly stronger than his usual purr! I just got to work, but now it keeps crashing the scenes and then crashed altogether. When he does not play, it is very bad as the audio works well, but the scenes are jumping around!

Anyone have any ideas as to whats wrong here? Is - fixable? I only bought the laptop 2 months ago so enough that annoyed that something has gone wrong already!

    Michelle

    Hello

This happens when you restart your laptop?
This happens if you watch movies (original DVD movies) DVD only or if you look at another video file?

Is this behavior for some certain movie or this problem occurs with all DVD movies?

You know, it's not easy to say something concrete about it. It is important to see how it works and exactly what is happening. Try to do some tests with different audio/video media and display the results.

  • Compaq 500 b (VS695UT): missing on Windows 10 DVD player

I've had previously upgraded my desktop COMPAQ 500 b Windows 7 Pro computer to Windows 10 (free from Microsoft) and enjoyed.  Sometimes I watch DVD movies on the computer.  Recently, the DVD drive (drive DVD HP, model TS-H653) disappeared from my list of available drives.  I first thought that the drive has died and replaced by a new DVD SATA drive. (I kept the original drive) Needless to say that the new drive is not seen either.  I've checked all my connections cable without change. I did research page to download driver of H - P with no luck.  Any suggestions?

Never mind.  The problem has been resolved.  It was a problem of double.

The original drive has gone wrong, and SATA3 port on the motherboard stopped working.

I plugged in a new DVD player with no change in symptoms (apparently dead).

I felt that it was a new DVD player, so I plugged on another SATA port on my motherboard, and the computer she recognized immediately.

Then, I placed the reader to original DVD in the computer, packaged for the replacement, buttoned-up DVD player my computer and got back to work, only to find that the computer no longer recognizes the DVD player again.

I knew I had to see that it works, so I had to shut down the computer and replace the original DVD drive (AGAIN).  This time; I left the case open until I have confirmed that the new drive worked, and the original SATA3 port on the motherboard was actually dead.

End result is a bad DVD player and a bad port SATA3 on the motherboard.

    Please read my flustering activities.

  • Satellite A60 DVD Player problems

    Hello
I have a Satellite A60 (18mths old now) - when I 1st got it the DVD burner was DOA - so I sent off the coast and he had replaced.
It has worked well since then until recently when the DVD player just wouldn't recognize anything - CD or DVD

Tried everything with this unit - but at the end of the day understood the drive was gone.

Another bought a (SD-R6252) and lo-and-this is the same thing happens.

Each diagnosis that I run says the drive is OK - but there is no disk in it.
I reinstalled windows from the recovery factory - discs
    Update the BIOS
Tried to update the firmware of the drive-, but the update said that this was not necessary.

Tried with Nero, Windows, InterVideo - nothing.

As it is now a working machine that I can't afford 3 months back in time to send it off and watched it (that's how long it took the last time) and my nearest dealer of Toshiba is in place at the other end of the country.

Suggestions for things that I can try out would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

The new drive can read CDs but can not burn anything. Am I wrong?
Or the drive cannot recognize the media that in the Windows operating system?
You said that you have reinstalled the widows. In this case, you used the drive.

Try to remove the drive from Device Manager. Restart the unit. Now check if you can use CDs and DVDs

  • T500 SSD Samsung Evo 840

    Hello

I've had a T500 laptop for about 4.5 years now and I'm looking to replace my HARD drive. I'm afraid that happens at the end of its service life. I'm looking to replace it with an SSD - especially a Samsung 840 EVO (MZ-7TE250BW). I am aware that I won't speed SATA III (seems to be SATA I or possibly II - even then it will still be an improvement from my HARD drive).

From what I found, the T500 has a drive Bay 2.5 "9.5 mm. However, the EVO 840 is 2.5 "7.0 mm. So my question is this - can be PLOPPED in the SSD to replace the HARD drive, or is there some necessary adapter kit? The player would need a different box / rails? Obviously 7.0 mm would fit, but I don't know if the screws / connectors were queuing and if something would be needed to fill the extra space to make the drive safer. There are a bunch of EVO 840 which comes with a 'portable' kit but I don't know if it works in my T500.

    Thank you

    Mark

    Welcome to the forum!

I have installed a number of 7mm SSD using the standard a 9mm HARD drive caddy/rails. Have not yet tested the EVO, but I do not think that you will have problems here.

    Happy update.
