Central pivot in the broken connector

The connector of the power supply of my HP Pavilion dv6 notebook contained a central pivot, but it broke.

Despite the axis of the absent, power works, apparently without any problem.

Now I wonder

What is the risk to use a connector with a missing pin

What is the purpose of the PIN

Thanking you in advance

What is the risk of using a connector with a PIN missing? Pin code is apparently not completely broken, or the power supply would not work. The risk is that a partial pn will not establish a solid arc contact and eventually destroy the connector that plugs into the PIN on the external power of the laptop connector.

What is the purpose of the PIN? The axis provides a polarity (+ or-) of the voltage required by the motherboard and battery.

I suggest to replace the power supply. Take a look into the connector on the laptop. The broken pin part is probably still inside the connector. If this is the case, then it must be deleted so that the new power supply does not work properly.

Thanking you in advance.

Best regards

  • The broken on Satellite 3000-100 keyboard

Hello, I have a problem with my laptop satellite keyboard. Some keys are broken and I want to replace them, but it's really hard. Now I want to change the keyboard, but I don't know how to do this.

What I have to call a technician to Toshiba or can I change myself?

I'm sorry for my bad English ;)

    Thanks, Luca

    Hello

    > Do I need to call a technician to Toshiba or can I change myself?
Usually, you should always contact the technicians for laptop for these jobs. I mean there is a small risk that you could damage other parts.

On the other hand if you have a good laptop experience you might also replace the keyboard.
What you need is a compatible keyboard.
It could be ordered in the Toshiba ASP in your country.

The keyboard is closed by 4 screws that are hidden under the plastic cover.
Pull the right side on the cover of the band and lift. But be careful because of the cable on the right side. Then gently release the cable from the connector on the tape cover, then lift the cover of the band on.
Remove the four keyboard screws that attach the keyboard and then slide the keyboard toward the back until the keyboard cable is released under the superior logic.
Disconnect the keyboard connector and second VGA connector, then lift the keyboard up and out.

The procedure is not difficult for someone who has already disassembled a laptop. But once again; If you don t have the necessary experience, then don t go and ask a technician for help.

    Good bye

    Hello

I tried to find all the manuals but unfortunately without success. If you search for the connector on the motherboard where you can plug the display cable, it should be placed somewhere in the middle. When the keyboard is removed check connector in the upper mid position (tails).

Sorry, but I wasn't able to find any nice document with screenshot. In any case I hope that you will be able to find the right connector.

  • Satellite Pro L300-152 lose the power connector - how to disassemble it?

I have a Satellite Pro L300 - 152 unit, which is out of warranty.
I have a bad power connector, it has been pushed back and be dislodged from his seat or brocken cradel is within the computer.

I am trying to remove the back to see if the power connector can be repaired or remains in its cradle.
I removed all the screws and all devices, but can not get it off the computer.

There seems to be something with the keyboard, which I took.

    Can you help me?

To fix the power connector the whole notebook must be disassembled and you must have access to the motherboard. Disassembly procedure is not complicated if you have maintenance manuals and instructions.
To have full access to the motherboard, you must remove all the screws from the underside and also all the screws under the keyboard. You will then be able to separate the notebooks and disassemble the upper.

Tell me exactly what you have removed so far?

  • SL410: lose the power connector (and unidentified metal part)

Problem: connecting the power supply is unreliable - connector often need to be shaken to get the battery to charge. I bought a new DC-IN connector, but then as I disassemble the machine to get to the level of the connector a small piece of plastic (approximately rectangular, black on one side, brass on the other) fell. I finally got enough to remove the old connector and install a new one, but it just keeps slipping into the device. Am I right in suspecting that the piece of plastic that is brouilla could have the "rear wall" of the connector DC-IN housing, intended to stop the connector sliding back - and if so, how can I attach this piece? -a small drop of cement used for ABS plumbing parts? (Another part that fell is a small more or less oval silver color metal piece with a round brass threaded piece female at right angles with the silver part.) No idea where in the machine, he came.)

I recently did a take on a SL510 which was loose.

Used a blob of JB quick weld turned down. Make sure the metal plate

which helps to hold a jack.

The other part looks like a "screw mounting insert" probably from the top?

Somewhere, you should have a screw that does not connect to something

When it is inserted. Find where it goes and set the insert with JB or super glue may.

and do not overtighten when replacing.

  • Widescreen - torn R61i cable under the broken right hinge

    Hey everybody,

I recently bought a used R61i which has been described as having only a right hinge broken. - However, the EC, I noticed a black ripped/broken cable protruding under/the broken right hinge all about.

I searched through many many sons of "broken hinge" on various forums, but no one ever mentions this black cable near the right hinge as far as I can tell. He is always on the left hinge antenna cables. I have also looked at the manual but cannot know what is function of this cable (a). I think it has something to do with the screen, but:

The laptop seems to work very well; I installed Windows XP and there is no problem with the screen (outside of not being able to set a higher resolution, but I think this comes from a graphic/Monitor driver problem).

Can someone tell me what is this black cable and what problems it might cause (in the future)? Should I replace it - is replaceable? I'll be replacing the hinge and clean fan anyway, so have to disassemble the laptop anyway.

Here are some photos to show you the black cable and its location:

The black wire is the wire aerial (secondary) to the wireless LAN. The gray wire on the left side is the main. You can get a poorer Black wireless reception. To replace it, you must remove and disassemble the lid/LCD

  • LabVIEW allways modifies the default connector pane

Somehow my default connector pane is always reset zo 6x4x4x6 (instead of the normal 4x2x2x4). No idea how this happens.

I can reset it by deleting the line

    defaultConPane =...

in LabVIEW.ini (so LabVIEW is running).

But when you restart LabVIEW (or when you open a project containing no screws?) the line is rewritten.

Does anyone know this problem (in LabVIEW 12)?

(The configuration ini directive is described in the following article.

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/279F064F0688C114862570900057678C

It comes to LabVIEW 8.0, but it still works in LabVIEW 12.)

You use G # by chance?  I think remember that it changes the default connector 6446 pane.

  • When to use the global connector off-page vs distinguish

    New Multi-SIM-

Y at - it a tutorial for the use intended for use off-page connectors and not global?

1 suppose that the nets must be connected to a number of fact sheets, global connectors must be used or off-page connectors of the same name should be used.  What the intention of the two?

2 connectors global connectable to buses in order to link the leaves? or off-page link must be connected to a bus?

An explanation must be entered in AID and perhaps a tutorial.

    Thank you

    Hi johnkimura,

In the help file, you can find specific types of connectors, and you can find the documentation for help on the connectors. The difference between a page off and a global connector which is a page out connector is visible on the same level in the hierarchy. Which means that if you are in a secondary circuit, you can use a page off connector to connect to another secondary circuit at the same level.

For Bus lines, you must use the bus connector page.

    I hope this helps.

  • is the power connector of 9642XT NI SBRIO J3 negative terminal internally connected to Terminal and mounting holes

I have a SBRIO system with an isolated supply

It is said on page 15, all connections of Earth GND D AI, AO, connected internally to the earth terminal.

the negative terminal of the power of the J3 connector is also grounded internally?

I have a system mounted on a box aluminuim, which owns the land on the Earth, and also the supply, which is used to power the sbrio gives voltage isolated, but now if the negative terminal of the J3 connector has an internal connection with the holes and the spade of Earth, how can I use my isolated power supply with the negative terminal is not connected to the ground its main power supply the connection output not the soil Earth domain controller.

I can't open my system sbrio jury at that time to check directly.

can you please help if negative - ve terminal J3 power connector is connected internally to the ground lug and mounting holes.

    Thank you

    Hi Freemason.

I think I just you send an email in this regard, but to confirm, Yes, connector J3 is connected to earth ground in-house. You should still be able to use your power for the sbRIO.
