Chained monitoring Agents

We strive to provide a few metrcs based on S_NQ_JOB/S_NQ_INSTANCE tables, especially run times based on the staff report. For deivered reports through monotherapy, no prblm, tre are entered in the tables. But for chained agents only the first agent, run time is captured in the paintings.

For Eg: Agent A is designed for operation at 10:05 and once completed, it triggers Agent B and it runs at 10:10. Everything works fine, the report is delivered etc... but we look in the S_NQ_JOB table, there is no reference to Agent B, in fact the start and end time for the Agent A to Agent B run times also includes.

Any ideas what could be the problem, any suggestions Thx

Nope, nothing whatsoever. SR is open on this question, but no indication as to if something will be done on this subject. A real hard pain.

  • PS_App could not be found in foglight monitor agent areas

    Hi all

We have configured the monitor agent PS App for Peoplesoft-Windows machine monitoring. We gave the home path and the path of smoking in the properties of the Agent and the cartridge is 5.6.2.1 we use.

the agent is unable to find the areas for the host, especially for Windows machines.

Please suggest some troubleshooting steps to resolve this problem.

    Thank you best regards &,.

    Guenoun

Gokuinath, I recommend put you foglight agent manager that is associated with the agent of PeopleSoft application in debug mode. With the debug mode, we can see in file of newspaper on what additional information the agent.

The command below will activate the debug mode without having to restart a foglight agent manager:

    fglam.exe - set-global-debug-level 1

You must disable and re-enable the peoplesoft application agent that you have worked.

To do additional debugging, we see the files of fglam newspapers and the foglight peoplesoft agent logs

  • SSL monitoring

    Hey guys,.

I'm looking for an agent this SSL certificate expiration monitoring? Someone at - it something already done they can share?

I wonder if this is possible only with openssl Verify order

If I read this right http://www.madboa.com/geek/openssl/#verify-standard

If it seems that the command returns ok if all is well and a mistake for a certificate expired.

The result can be sent to Foglight but it is probably possible also with the execution of the command and send the results to a log file and then just have logfilter monitoring agent log file and send the notification on errors.

    Golan

PS I also see this site with scripts that may be able to give the number of days and then just sent this info to Foglight with a script agent http://www.glenscott.net/2011/12/09/checking-ssl-certificate-expiry-date-and-issuer-an-openssl-wrapper-in-bash/

  • How to monitor oc4j 9.0.3/4 & JDK 1.3 using the JMX cartridge.

    Hello world!

I want to follow the oc4j 9.0.4 on windows server 2003 using JMX. But the jdk 1.3 does not support the connection of jmx.

    What could I do?

    Thank you!

As you note, JDK 1.3 does not JMX support, so you can use the JMX monitoring agent.

Similarly, JDK 1.3 is too old to be supported by the Java agent.

Older versions of Java JDK 1.3 are "not updated with the latest security patches and are not recommended for production use." http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/Java/javasebusiness/downloads/Java-archive-downloads-javase13-419413.html

You can monitor older versions of OC4J using:

-Agent infrastructure for monitoring the use of process and OC4J resources on the host

-LogFilter officer monitor the application log file

-End user agents to control the specific transactions synthetically or any site web sessions passively

    Jason Harris

    Hi Jason,

The agent software? You mean the original zipped agent? It comes from a non - server WHO. But it's not much different with an agent of a CMS server except add some extras to the runinstaller command (see note 579156.1 steps to clone chained Management Agent).
I don't see much in this step that might help you, sorry.

RDP has nothing to do with Oracle. It is an acronym for HP Insight Rapid Deployment Pack and is just a way to install with the basic software (os) servers, configure and install additional software in an automated way. We used to install the servers and install and configure the Oracle Agent on a clients site.

If you do so already create a new zip from a different source (if available) and give it a try again. Maybe something was not right in the source directory of the agent.

  • support for version DisplayPort for spectrum XT 15 t-4000

I would like to know if the graphic chipset in my spectrum XT 15 t-4000 supports the displayport 1.2 version. I would like two monitors compatible 1.2 DP to chain together, but I would like to know before I was throwing money to the monitors. I can't find any docs telling me to be.

    Thank you

    -Ko

    Hi all

After doing some digging around, pretty of course fell in love the chip in the spectrum xt 15 t-4000 does not support chaining monitor displayport 1.2.

Going to try one of these StarTech USB 3 displayport adapters and see if it will do:

    http://www.Amazon.com/STARTech-com-DisplayPort-external-adapter-USB32DPPRO/DP/B008CXFM64

If all goes well, that will work.

Just to be complete, love at first sight 2 chipsets include 1.2 support. So, anyone buying a new laptop with this new chipset profit not only from 20 GB throughput, but will be able to monitors able Garland dp 1.2, such as the dell u3014.

  • New on Foglight 5.6.10 - process

With this release of Foglight is still an Agent application process, I would continue to monitor the application process, we followed the version 5.5.8 we monitor our servers remotely with this new version and have no problem tracking of BONE with the Infrustructure cartridge, I can't find any documentation on the process of the Application.

    Hello

A bone point settlement stull you have X (default = 5 but configurable) control TOP consumer for memory/cpu appear in the dashboard host and if your app is a high consumer see in host dashboards.

Utlilty agents are in transition, we already have the new webmonitor and apache, agents monitoring and others are in preparation. In the meantime you can still continue specific process with appmonitor monitoring agent, simply install the OS (legacy) cartridge on your FMS of surveillance, put a fglam on the target computer and deploy the agent appmonitor, just as you did with 5.5.8

    Hope this helps,

  • Manage rules

I just put a new Web Monitoring Agent on our servers, and I alert us if she sees that the site is down.  This has been working great, but we have been has recently informed the daily interview is done.  What I would do, to avoid the setting up of a blackout window, would be to set the interval for the agent to run and fail twice before send us an alert.  Currently, the agent runs every 5 minutes and if it fails once so I don't want to be alerted, but if it fails twice, then I am sure something is wrong.  I'm sure that there is a way to do it, but I'm having a hard time finding the instructions on this site and I'm sure that my lack of knowledge with groovy scripts is not help.  So, if anyone can point me in the right direction to add an exception or an increase to my alert script I would be your debt.

    Thank you

  • That must make the password stored in the JAGENT portfolio, and what JAVA_HOME should I use for the pw_agent_util.sh command?

I configure the GoldenGate Plugin for OEM. There is a step to create the portfolio. The documentation is not clear on the role of the provided password. If I run the JAGENT as user oracle, it must match the password for the oracle user, or is this separate password? Also, should I use the jdk to OEM agent to set JAVA_HOME?

    ./pw_agent_util.sh - jagentonly

    Pat,

Morning.  Good to see that someone is working on the use of the plug-in for GoldenGate in OEM12c.

If you use the plugin 12.1.0.2, you will be much better with the preparation of reports on the processes of GoldenGate.  In order to get the 12.1.0.2 plugin to work, the 12.1.3.0 JAgent is necessary and can be downloaded in the distribution of the Oracle GoldenGate monitor (Agent Monitor configuration Oracle #GoldenGate |) DBASolved).  If you use the old plug-in 12.1.0.1, the JAgent is integrated with the GoldenGate Software (Oracle GoldenGAte(11.2.1.0.1 and later) and Oracle Enterprise Manager 12 c |) DBASolved).  I recommend you take the new plug-in!

Now to the address that ask you the password. The password is stored in the portfolio under the House of GoldenGate ($OGG_HOME/dirwlt) and is used directly for the JAgent to connect to the EMAgent and connect with OEM.  The password associated with user name is configured in the $JAGENT_HOME (different depending on version, look for the Config.properties).  Then in OEM, the user name defined in the Config.properties and the password in the portfolio must be provided before OEM GoldenGate targets will come.

The $JAVA_HOME parameter is dependent on the version of JAgent you want to run.  The JAgent 12.1.3.0 to using the JDK 1.7 or higher.  The JAgent shipped using JDK 1.6.

    Thank you

    Bobby

  • Get Foglight - App_Monitor, CPU usage of the process of

    All,

What is the path in the template to write a rule for the CPU usage of a process which is monitored with the App_Monitor?

For a while now with no luck real digging into the model.

Sir I wat a rule if a process has less de.1% CPU, triggers a warning.

I think that the subject of topology is AppMonitor_ProcessTotals

Look at the rule called "Process_Availability", you can probably copy and reuse

If you look at data from the server, it will be under Foglight4Model > IPMap > (host name) > Agents > (App monitor agent) > Tables > ProcessTotals
