Change router-out; anyone see the printer except this laptop running XP

How to make XP recognize a wireless printer; who is on my LAN by 3 iPads and a Dell Ultrabook running Windows 8?

If you ask questions related to the printer, it usually helps identify the make and model of the printer in question.

You also need to identify which version of XP (Home, Pro, Media Center) and service pack (none, 1, 2, 3) is installed.

For the HP wireless printers, it is usually easier to let the installer of HP on the CD supplied with the printer to find and install the printer.

It is always better to configure wireless printers (or any network printer) to have a static IP address.

You should be able to add a wireless printer using the add printer XP Wizard, as follows:

  • Start the Add Printer Wizard
  • On the "local or network screen printer, select Local (connected to this computer); Uncheck "automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer."
  • If "Standard TCP/IP Port" is included in the drop-down list for "Use the following port" select; otherwise, click radio button to "Create a new Port" and choose "Standard TCP/IP Port; then run the wizard added to Standard TCP/IP Printer Port
  • After the Standard TCP/IP Port has been selected or installed, configure it to use the IP address of the printer (one of the reasons why you set the IP address of the printer is so that you know what it is at this time)
  • Continue the Add Printer Wizard to complete the installation of the printer

  • I have a HP officejet K-550dtn. New wireless n router. I can't get the router to see the printer.

This printer used to work properly as a network using Actiontec or Linksys printer b/g router.  I upgraded my network for a 802.11n system and I cannot get the new router to see the printer.  After several hours of fighting, I find that the printer configuration page shows its IP address as 192.168.1.103.  Unfortunately, the DHCP server on the new router uses address 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.200 only.

The disc that came with the printer does not work in one of my computers, because the BONE is newer than Win XP.

Any ideas on how I can change the internal IP address of the printer to something the router will recognize?

I wouldn't get rid of this printer, since it is always does a great job.

(I can still print to the printer with a computer server network address to which it is connected by a USB cable, but requiring everyone goes up to this computer before making the print command in order to ensure that it is not hibernation.)  If I can't print directly via the router, I think I will return the router and go slowly until I can't take it anymore.

I finally understood that.  Here's how, in case someone else meets this.

I don't mention that there is a Verizon FIOS router behind the wireless-n router, and it uses the model of 192.168.1.XXX.

On a hunch, I ping the FIOS router, and there was a response.  The K-550 ethernet cable was plugged into the wireless n router and I tried it ping 192.168.1.103.  No response.  I then connected the ethernet printer cable in one of the connectors of the FIOS router replacement.  He ping again and got 4 beautiful quick returns.

I moved to one of the computers on the wireless network and checked to see if the printer was there.  Joy!  There were two cases.  One was the connection recently configured via the USB port on the server computer.  The second was through the previously used x.x.x.103 port.  I can print using this forum, and I made it the default printer.

It had not occurred to me to use a port across the wireless n router.

I want to install this printer and managed to communicate with her since my main PC via USB, LAN and Wireless LAN.  I noticed however was able to get the feature Airprint works.

I also have intalled the Pixima/Maxify app on my iPhone and it says it can not see the printer.

I read on line materials, but must be missing an important detail.

OK, here is the "rest of the story.

There is a setting where the Administraitor password can be completely removed.

I removed it, and all my devices can connect to the printer via my wireless access Point.

  • Install HP does not see the printer in network, Windows DOES. Help!

    Hello

I am trying to add my HP Officejet k8600dn to Windows 7 (32 bit) so I can scan, but the HP Installer (add device) can not see the printer. The unit is set up by cable to a switch on my network via an ethernet cable. If I go into the menu "Add a printer" Windows, I can install the printer very well. But I have to be able to scan and I don't know what to do.

Tips on getting functional analysis if the HP software is unable to see my printer? Subnet mask and gateway on the printer are the same for the computer and the printer. I typed the correct IP address in the "Add a device" menu of HP, but he sees not just it. ARRGG!

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello

I think that there is some confusion because the Officejet k8600dn is only a printer, it is not a multifunction device and does not provide the capability of scanning.

You can find the specifications below:

If you have any different model printer, please specify the exact model.

  • Photosmart 8250 not recognized by my iMAC... How can I get my iMAC to 'see' the printer?

I'm trying to connect my HP Photosmart 8250 printer to my iMAC (under Snow Leopard 10.6.4) via the USB cable. I downloaded and installed the drivers for HP printers on Apple's site, but when I go through the "Print & Fax' tile instead of '+' and then 'add printer' is not in the list of printers as if the iMAC does not see the printer...» Help please.

Thanks for the help... Initially, I tried reseting the printing system, but has not helped.

Ultimately after some trial and error, it seems the HP Photosmart printer is somehow 'paired' / 'connected' with my MacBook Pro. So he can register on my iMAC, you must remove first of the queue on the MBP and then it appears on the iMAC and may be included in the queue on the iMAC... even if it's just through a USB cable.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I don't know if you have already solved the problem of the other answer, but here's something you can try if your not confident using the command line.

Go to [start],-> [Control Panel]-> [administrative tools]-> [Services]

Depending on if your running XP, Vista or 7 you can have 2 tabs at the bottom of the window you see.

Select [Standard] if its not already selected. If you already have a large list, skip this step.

Scroll down and find the print spooler. Double click it, and then set the "Startup type" to [Auto]

then click [OK] and then make a right click again print spooler and select [start]

  • Laptop computer connection directly to a projector and cannot see the screen of my laptop

I'm trying to figure out how to display the screen of my laptop via a projector and also be able to see the screen of my laptop.  When I hit the function key for display on the big screen, my laptop darkens.  I found a post on this forum on the connection of additional views or projector (Set Up Multiple displays). When I go to Mobile PC and display to choose settings listed in the answer (mirrored, extended, etc.) aren't there.  My laptop is running Vista Business Service Pack 2 and two weeks.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hello Shawn,

Thanks for posting on the Community Forums of Microsoft Vista.

It should probably be shortened on your laptop keyboard to turn on the visible screen (for example Fn + F5). Try these until you can see the image on the laptop monitor.

Also, follow the steps and try to set the screen parameter as follows:

    (1) right click on the desktop, click Properties, and on the display settings, choose monitor as your main graphics card 1.

    (2) setup that monitor the as a 2nd external display (projector).

    (3) click on apply and Ok.

Restart the computer to see if you are able to see the screen on laptop and projector.

You can also check with the computer manufacturer to check if they have additional parameters to be changed.

    It will be useful.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Windows 7, the printer Dell Photo All - in - one 922; Win7 says it has the most recent drivers, can see the printer, but tells me that the printer needs to "help out." interfacera not; updated drivers downloaded from Dell, but Win7 will not identify them.

Well, it's a long story, but EDH to; I had problems with my printer works with Win XP. The same problem as now with Win 7.  I have e last driver of Dell, but Win7 says that drivers are up-to-date.  The printer appears in the Device Manager, but has the yellow triangle with (!) to score on this subject.  When I go to troubleshoot, it says it can't find the updated driver on the internet or the CPU.  Win7 says that the printer says that's not covering, check USB port, etc... I uninstalled the driver, let W7 update, and the printer still does not work.  What is the reference for this? Thank you... Corn

You get your Dell printer drivers; NOT through Windows Update.

  • some domain users can not see the printer

    Hello

We have a suite mixed TECHNOLOGY in schools:

    -a Server Windows 2008 newish

    -some 6yo Fujitsu customer's PC

    -some nine HP client computers

HP thin clients have been compiled via WDS from the old Fujitsu customers.

We have, in fact, three types of users: administrator, staff and students - with a reduction of administrative privileges.

I have the weirdest problem - when I connect to new customers of HP as a student, I don't see the list of printers, so they cannot print to the network printer. The staff can print OK, and students can print (as they always could) when connected to a former customer of Fujitsu.

I've tried everything I can think of, such as

-Reinstall the printer locally and as a domain administrator - no joy

-don't connect to a network printer shared by another machine - no joy

    -security settings on printer sharing

I can't believe it's a server problem, as nothing is changed there, and it is specific to the type of user and the type of customer, and all other combos work OK. I have run out of ideas and will accept with gratitude any help staff is running out of patience.

    Thank you

  • OJ 8500 A910 Pro - iPhone does not see the printer on the network?

I have my HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910 connected to my wireless network.  The printer found the network and now has an IP address.  My iPhone is also connected to the wireless network.  I can see both devices on the router.

When I walked into photos and try to print a photo, he says to choose a printer.  When I click on choose, I get "No Printers Found.

    Any thoughts?

    Hey k9rescue!

Sorry to hear that you are having a problem with AirPrint. What iOS version are you running? And what iPhone model do you have?

Additionally, if you are unsure that your device supports AirPrint, try to turn your bluetooth off and see if the printer appears.

    Hi msdok,

I understand that the printer is appearing offline even if you can print from the iPad and iMac. I see your message that you have already done some troubleshooting, but I'm not sure what you tried. I recommend using the steps below if you don't have it already.

    Reset the printing system

    1. Click on the Apple icon ( ), then click on System Preferences.

  • Windows 7 latop stopped to 'see' the printer wireless

Recently, my windows 7 extremely connected to my home hub wireless laptop stopped seeing my wireless printer.  I above desk connected via Ethernet cable to the hub.  He can see the wireless printer.  So I don't think that the fault is with my hub or the printer.

It also happens when I select the network icon in Windows Explorer to the laptop I have now no longer 'see' my drive WD RAID ("plugged" into the hub).  I get it specifically by typing in the address (\\MYBOOKLIVEDUO\DocumentReplica).  And once I did the WD drive is now listed under Network (but disappears again once that I reboot).

These two conditions occur simultaneously and seem to be the result of the same underlying problem.

Anyone know what I might be able to do to solve this problem?
