  • Satellite L300-21W and shared video memory

    Hello.

Yesterday, I bought a Toshiba L300-21W. It's a very nice phone, but I have 1 problem with it. I am using windows 7 ultimate x 64 and I'm very pleased with him.

    Information
    http://i26.Tinypic.com/28qugk7.jpg

The problem is that my video memory is low (128 MB). This laptop has a shared Intel GMA 4500 M video. How can I increase the size of the video memory? I can't find anything in the user manuals. I have the latest version of the driver for him... and I can't find where to increase its memory.

    Could you help me please?

    Thank you guys.

When the laptop has shared graphics memory card, that means the RAM will be used for graphic operations (borrowing of memory of RAM your system of graphics chip).
With RAM more available (upgrade of RAM), more memory will be available for graphics operations.

  • Satellite L300 - plugged, but not charging

    Hello world

    I have a Satellite L300 under Win 7 32 bit
It does not load, so when the AC is removed it will stop.

I tried the power cycle - unplug everything, hold the power button for 30 seconds.
The contacts are clean on the s battery connections and I uninstalled via the control panel and scanned as new hardware.

I checked all of the web, but nothing helped, please could you help?
Don t want to buy a new battery for no reason

    Thanks Pindy92

    > Don t want to buy a new battery for no reason

Well, in this case, you should visit one of the points of service and need to check the laptop with a new battery.
If it s battery not deliver, then I guess that the problem is related to problems of motherboard, so that would be the worst case

By the way: you are using the latest version of the BIOS on this laptop? Make sure that the latest version of the BIOS is installed. But if the BIOS is up to date, then a new battery should be tested.

  • Satellite L300 will not charge the battery

I have a new battery and I tried my old battery and another charger but my Satellite L300 load will always be not.
If I unplug it then plug the charger back in it appear to be responsible for about 20 seconds.

    Can someone help pleas

    Hello

If you have tried different batteries and new AC adapter and the battery still wouldn't load, then I would say; This s hardware problem of the motherboard.
I think that there is no much do the defective part needs to be replaced

I think that the ASP must verify the material, you know
It of the best way to get the issue resolved.

  • Satellite L300 - battery not charging

I have problem with my Satellite L300.
    I can't charge the battery.
The power in the always10% battery level
The indicator display: plugged and charge, and the battery LED is orange.

    Thanks for your help

    Hello

I think your laptop is a little older right?
Well, I think that the battery is faulty this is nothing unusual and can happen after a long period of use.
My old battery cannot load as well, but in my case, it does not matter because I always use the power adapter.

So in your case I recommend to replace the battery with a new one.
Please check the label on the back of the battery it is a reference number that helps you identify the right battery for this laptop.

  • Satellite L300 - charger causing the freezing

I have the Satellite L300 with 64-bit Windows 7 market. Computer works fine without charger. Charger charges the battery ok with the shutdown of the system. Charger charges the battery ok when running in safe mode.
Reinstalled operating system and the updated drivers that may be when the laptop is running on battery power.

If booting with charger plugged will start all the way until the end of the Welcome screen, then freezes. What exactly will change at this stage? Battery is fine until this charger is plugged in and then immediately freezes. Laptop can't or don't run without battery charger - freezes at welcome. Battery charger no problem as long as the same results with the same charger.

Toshiba tech suggested reinstall OS and drivers - DONE - No. difference nothing that changes cannot be made in safe mode or without charger attatched. By reading the forums looking for solutions, I find that many suffer from this problem and no definitive solution coming to hand. Toshiba seems very shy to attack this problem in general and my experience with them on the phone seemed to have my partner ducking and diving.

For me, the question seems to be in the distribution of electricity (hardware or software), but I've reached a point that someone with superior knowledge must take my hand to guide me. If anyone can help.

    Hey Buddy,

I assume you are using an original Toshiba AC/DC adapter, right? Or are you using a 3rd party charger?

I think Toshiba knows only what at this point where the laptop freezes will be available...

You have reinstalled Windows Toshiba Recovery disk or is it your own installation of Windows 7?
If so I would try the Toshiba Recovery disk Windows installation to ensure that the problem is not software or driver related. TOSHIBA recovery disk contains an image of the settings from the factory with all the drivers and tools.

This means that if the same error after the installation of recovery it s a hardware malfunction :(

    Hello

Some of the Satellite L300 series were equipped with PA3290E-3AC3 19V power.

I think that this should be compatible with your L300 too.

But if you want you can visit the Web from Toshiba Options & accessories Toshiba European page and can check the compatible parts also.

  • Satellite L300 - broken screen & wheel volume produce cccccc

    Hallo,

In any case, I own a satellite L300 and have for about a year now, I think and there many things broken on it, not really my fault, but I have to pay for it, so I was wondering if someone could tell me how to get it fixed/how much etc if I can do it myself / send it to Toshiba (which would cost a lot more wouldn t it?)

First of all, it has a broken screen, I always use because Ive had attached to a television screen that took me aggges to find and put in place haha, but the screen is cracked and only about a third of the left side is slightly visible, so Id need to fix this. BTW I have a not break it, terribly boring father-in-law did annoy me, long story.

Second, it has a little thing of button on the front for the volume that you can turn left to go down and right to go up etc, in any case, I was away from home for about a week and my mother used my laptop and when I got this little button has been broken, she refused to break and said I did but I was not at home for a week so I don't know how I did... So, every time I touch as long as this thing the volume button will what either straight up to 0, no matter how I turn it on, and if I'm on msn or a written document program whenever I touch the button he squirts the letter c and the letter b at random, so I don't know honestly what's wrong with it , here is an example; cccccccccccccccccccbbcccbcccc

Finally (and hopefully last) the battery will NOT stay in its holder thing, I don't know how that broke but I had currently recorded to and the slightest movement it will hit to and having her terribly boring to keep connected and have all these cords for connection to the screen of the TV and the power etc..

So I need to know how/who/what/when/where to get these fixed and how much. I'll probably have to save up for ages because I work on the minimum wage for a 17-year old, a huge $ 10 an hour, so I'm hoping that it does not cost too much.

I like my laptop and I really need to go to college next year, so I hope I can get it repaired at this time here.

Thanks in advance, hope someone knows what I am after haha.

If the screen is broken, then a replacement is necessary. The laptop must be disassembled and it is not easy! It s really complicated to remove all that part in good order and not recommend this if you never disassembled the laptop.
The new screen can be purchased from an ASP in local (partner), but it is not cheap!
    It s about $ 300-380

    > Secondly, it has a little thing of button on the front for the volume that you can turn left to go down and right to go up etc, in any case, I was away from home for about a week and my mother used my laptop and when I got this little button has been broken She refused to break and said I did but I was not at home for a week so I don't know how I did... Had the same problem. It s seems to be linked to dirty contacts I could solve this cleaning contacts near the volume wheel. I used the jet of compressed air and I didn't remove the lids or plastic parts

    > Third (and hopefully last) battery will NOT remain in its holder thing, I don't know how that broke but I had currently recorded in and the slightest movement it will hit to and having her terribly boring to keep connected and have all these cords for connection to the screen of the TV and the power etc..

The must be something broken I have no idea what you are doing with this laptop but it sounds like plastic parts, holders are broken and the battery (maybe other parts too) can not be fixed and mounted as it should

I think that it of better to sell this unit and buy a new

  • Satellite L300-1AQ - compatible L450-11V charger?

    I have a laptop Satellite L300-1AQ supplied with a charger PA3468E-1AC3. I recently bought a laptop L450-11V supplied with a charger PA3715E-1AC3.

Does anyone know what are the differences between these chargers as they both have the same output voltage and the rated current, and they will damage my laptop is exchanged?

    Hi panetony,

If the two Chargers have the same output voltage and amps you can use it, of course.

Only the exact voltage is important but no problem to a higher intensity.

  • Is Re: Satellite A500-17 X - it allowed to do work with the charger plugged?

Is it OK to play games / work with the charger plugged into my laptop all the time or by doing this will cause the battery becoming weaker?

I remember having a laptop earlier and 3 hours battery lasted only 30 minutes.
This will happen to my Toshiba A500 computer laptop X 17 too if I had to plug my charger all the time?

Should I get out the battery if you don't use?

    > Is it OK to play games / work with the charger plugged into my laptop all the time or by doing this will cause the battery becoming weaker?
Yes you can do it and you should not be afraid that this will affect the battery!
After that the battery has been recharged, the grief process stops and the battery is not looping
My cell phone is always on the AC adapter at home and the battery is still OK and it work properly!

  • Satellite L300 & Windows Vista aren't grateful Ipod

Hi, I hope you can help! I was directed here by Microsoft & Apple - here is my question and also Microsofts response:

I have an ipod nano 3rd generation, work outside the home a near new laptop with windows vista. iTunes is the entire installation, no problems with the ipod at all but when I plug the ipod in, it only charges the ipod.

computer doesn't recognize any, the ipod under windows or itunes. It there is no portable device driver in Device Manager, or anywhere at all.

It is not the usb port as another usb have been recognized. I have tried in all the other usb ports as well. bottom line is that windows vista (and itunes) is not to recognize the ipod at all.

I've been in contact with apple, with anything. I googled solutions for hundreds of other posts with exactly the same problem but no useful solution. Windows vista has no port of portable device - how can we get this on their pc?

I've been at this for 4 days now and you have uninstalled/reinstalled much too often and I'm out! all tips (other that "have you tried another usb port' or ' have you reset the ipod" or something similar) would be much appreciated.

once more, there is no drive of laptop/ipod device located on this computer. Please, I really hope someone can help =)

    * Microsofts response: *.

    Hello

Step 1: enable USB bus power back

If the laptop is configured to save power by turning off the power on the USB (Universal Serial Bus) port, it may not recognize a connected iPod.

To activate the rear USB bus power, you can follow the steps mentioned in the link from Apple below
    http://support.Apple.com/kb/TS1401

You said Windows vista has no port of portable device normally, all portable devices are connected via a USB port and they appear under Bus USB controllers in Device Manager.

Step 2: reinstall the USB controllers.

First of all, please disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:

    1. click on 'Start', type device manager in the search bar and press "Enter." If necessary, click on continue.

    2. in Device Manager, double-click to expand the "USB Bus controllers", right-click on the "host controller", click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

    3. Repeat step 2 to uninstall all items under 'USB Bus controllers'.

Then, restart your computer and windows will automatically reinstall all USB controllers.

    If the problem persists,

    * Step 3:Download and install the latest drivers from the computer chipset laptop manufacturer s online.*

    * So here I am with the issue still not resolved. * How can I download and install the latest chipset drivers for the Toshiba Satellite L300 & Microsoft Vista to recognize my ipod? *

    Thanks in advance!

    > 3:Download step and install the latest drivers for chipset on the website s laptop manufacturer.
    > * so here the issue still not resolved. How can I download and install the latest chipset drivers > for the Toshiba Satellite L300 & Microsoft Vista to recognize my ipod?

Install a material like Everest home Edition or similar diagnostic tool.
This tool would enable details of the hardware on your laptop.
It lists all the devices and chipset name too.
I think that it s Intel chipset, so you can find the driver on the Intel page

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L300 intermittently won't start not

My Satellite L300 intermittently does not start.

When trendy DC, light power plug is green, when you press power button / stop power light is Orange boots for 3 seconds with fan started done 2 short beeps and then the fan stops and no other shoe.
turn off the DC supply then plug again before may give him another chance.

This can happen up to 20 times, sometimes around 3 or 4 attempts.
When he wants to finally go, pressed power light power button green and all is OK.
    That means the light Orange?

I checked for dust in the fan, used another power supply, tried friends memory and hard drive.

The problem can occur every day, or every day.

I left the battery in case it appeared the problem, the battery will not hold a charge very long.
I would be grateful of any advise

    kevsim

    > That means Orange light?

If power light flashes orange, it indicates the power was cut off, while the computer was in mode 'sleep'.
But in your case I n t think that the laptop enter mode 'sleep' in your case, the power LED flashes means a hardware problem may be detected

    Perhaps your motherboard is affected
