Sansa Clip seems to be on perpetual break

I showed my girlfriend how to access the radio on his Clip, then tried to go back to the MP3.  The screen comes right and it can access all the songs, but the song never starts.  I press 'up' or 'play' button and switches of the icon between the room and the pause symbol, but the song never starts.

Prior to radio, it worked fine.  I just updated the firmware and the problem persists.

Help please.

Reset or reformat and perhaps reapply the firmware.

    Hello

I have a 2 GB Sansa Clip I bought about 4-5 years ago and have been very happy with it.

He runs the version of the 01.01.30A software.

However, recently and for no apparent reason suffering from power cuts.

It would just turn off, no matter how much battery there left, how long it has been running or what he does. And when we turn on (which is sometimes hard to do) he can't remember the last thing he was playing.

After further tests it seems to turn off when put under different angles, almost as if there is a piece on the inside that is open/close the connection. When shaking a slight ratteling inside there, but I can't be certain that's not making noise power switch.

Of course, this looks like a hardware problem.

So, how can I open it and fix it? Is there a diagram somewhere I can look at?

    Thank you

    Max

Well, I opened it and looked around in there.

True, the battery had detached from its adhesive strips and pulled the loose battery negative cable.

Gently, I took out the battery and was able to resolder the wire and test that it works before you all shut up.

My double-sided adhesive foam Strip seemed to be too thick, so I used a drop of silicone glue to prevent the battery from moving around.

All together again once, case snapped back and forth between them well.

A little notation around the seam is a small price to pay for a media player that fully operational once again.

    Thanks for all your suggestions!

  • Can not record songs on a Sansa Clip +.

I recently bought the Sansa Clip + and it has firmware version V01.01.05F and the song rate feature doesn't seem to work. I choose 1-5 stars and select the choice, but the note is not saved. Another poster asked a similar question and its solution involved affecting USB MTP mode, but this has not worked for me. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

OK I thought about it, the new firmware fixed this problem for me.

  • Organize the Audiobook on Sansa Clip +.

I'm relatively new to the Sansa Clip. I want to put an audio book on which has a set of 11 disks. I created a title on the drive under audio books. Now I want the title create 11, disk1, disk2, etc. subfolders, to copy the torn in each folder of s to do 11 playlists under the title. That doesn't seem to work. Is this not possible.

Then I thought about being smart and merged all tore up the files from one disk to do a big mp3 fle (60 + MB) and do this 11 times and copy them under the title and create a playlist. The player doesn't and hung. What gives? Any help wil be appreciated.

Well, this is what I discovered. Each record indicates that a separate under audio books book. So I changed the label of the album of each disc to the Heading1, Title2 etc and it works. Thank you all for your help. Very much appreciated.

  • Help! My Sansa Clip + is no longer recognized by my PC when connected by USB port!

Reading, the latter time, ' said, 'written' only when connected. Normally, he alternates between the 'Reading' and 'Writing' when it is connected to the PC and, therefore, it USED TO BE recognized by the PC in these conditions. The device is not recognized in Windows Explorer as a device or disk as usual. I use Windows 7. The device is not recognized by Windows Media Player synchronization purposes: I can't synchronize playlists of music more.

You try to reset by pressing the power button / stop 20 seconds does not help.

Using different USB ports does NOT help.

The cable using different USB does not help.

    Another computer has NOT appeared.

Jonathan Bailey: Version V01.02.16A, isn't it?
Kyle Ahmed: It seems that the version is up-to-date.
Kyle Ahmed: The reason why it took more time to update the media earlier must be because of the large amount

    Kyle Ahmed: I understand.

Kyle Ahmed: You should not face additional problems.

  • New Sansa Clip + not showing the track titles

I recently got a new Sansa Clip + as a Christmas gift to replace my old (his helmet came out). I've updated to the latest firmware (even my old 01.02.18A,), and I copied my entire library of music from the old to the new player. Everything plays and works in the same way, except for one thing: on the new drive, the song titles never see the place, and the name of the file is always displayed during playback of a song. My old player would show the title of the song of the metadata instead of the file name during playback if it was available. I checked that the titles are actually there and were not lost through some freak mishap copy, so I'm puzzled as to why it won't work as my old drive.

Anyone know of the issue and how to fix it?

Well, Yes, that is my point of view. All tags are there, and all the rest (album, artist, etc.) is displayed in the main screen of the reading and the news section of track except for the title (who, oddly, has never had a track in any case information entry, but that is not the issue).

... well that, as strange as it may seem, the titles of the tracks seem to have returned - after, I moved music off the device to analyze the data volume to activate the Clip + Replay Gain. Really weird, but hey, it works now! (Maybe switch to the computer did it, since I initially copied it directly between devices?)

  • Sansa Clip + crashes

    Hello!

for some time, I have a 8 GB Sansa Clip + - and I've always been very happy and very pleased with it.

Yesterday I received news MP3-songs of a friend of mine (music of his group - so nothing illegal). Listened on my laptop - all right.

So I copied them on my clip, disconnected from the laptop, expected that the database has been updated to a new folder (void) and I wanted to hear new music. The time was the first time I tried, the Sansa logo came, and after a while the setting menu appeared. Then I tried another time, the screen starts to move in the list of music to the play screen (the one with the title of the music and the break...) but the clip got stuck. I can see now on the left half in part list in this folder and on the right half partially the game screen. And that's it: the clip is dead. I can rely on what I want, but nothing happens. I can connect to the laptop, but he doesn't realize the clip. The only thing I can do to wait ist until the battery is empty, and then the player is running again. But only with all the old music (and a few other new music I copied yesterday). As soon as I go to the new folder with music from my friend, I have the same chrash again.

So I deleted the folder. Make one folder somewhere else and copied the songs to there - same effect

So I used the Sansa updater - new firmware - same effect...

.. but as I said - the music on my laptop works perferctly. The only difference I've found (but I don't compared with some old songs) on the new bit of archive is not defined - but I can't test that now I have to wait until the battery is empty for access to my video again...

Updated - reset funtion works, makes it easier... on the clip, the bit of archive have been set for a reason - but still I put on the laptop and copied their new. No effect.

After the first error (where the logo appears and after awhile the settings menu) then I can see very short "update database" - I thought that the problem could be here - mtable.sys deleted, disconnected, database has been updated again - always the same s *.

Someone has an idea of what's going on here?

    see you soon,

    Luis

The ID3 tags on these new songs are either missing or f'd up.

  • Sansa Clip + connect to Volkswagen Golf Mk7

    Hi guys,.

I recently had a VW Golf 7 and I tried to connect my Sansa Clip + with it via USB.

    It work well.

The device is in MSC mode and Yes to THE works perfectly, but not what I want, I want to know if there is a way to make it work by USB.

In MTP mode, the device connects and 2 readers (internal + microsd) are visible, but I can't load anything on them, and finally, the display shows just "dysfunction." In MSC mode, it looks like he wants to connect to the Clip +, there is a message on the screen saying "connecting to device" or some thing like that and my Clip + says that it is connected and reading. Charge the battery via the USB port works perfectly. However, after a few minutes of this "connecting to device" message, nothing seems to happen and the Clip + is not recognized by the stereo.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    EHR says:

I could do this, but then the Clip + is completely useless to me because he got only 8 GB of memory, almost all of my music is on the SD card.

So I guess I have to just get a micro SD to SD card and use it in my car instead. It's kindof a shame, but good

What's a shame? That's what I do. Why place wear & tear on your drive when if you load all your songs to an SD card and use a card reader to plug into the USB port on your car stereo, it will do the same. And you're not submit your player to extreme and/or cold, heat inevitable finished autonomy or eyes curious thieves potential when you park the car.

USB and SD (micro or full size) cards are very cheap. You could even buy a card, that copy you music to it and leave (as well as the card reader) in the car. In this way, you do not remove the card from your player all the time and having to wait for the updating of the database when you put it back in it.

  • SanDisk Sansa Clip + 4 GB MP3 player with FM Radio

    Hello-

My new sansa clip + out of the box and I'm not able to do Radio FM works.  Battery is charged.  All I get on screen is a set of headphones and the 'music '.  I do not expect to play music because I have not yet loaded, but I expect to be able to get FM radio but can't seem to get there.  Any suggestions on how I have to happen?  Thank you.

Please note that I do not see a menu of items to select from the MP3 player.  I do not see a "lock" or "unlock".

My computer recognizes the drive as a new piece of hardware.

The reader does not recognize the software on the CD when I put the CD in the computer.

The player does not allow me to make the software what I t hink is the "root directory" for the player.  I guess tha the directory "root" is the "Sansa Clip + 4 GB" or the "internal memory".  It allows me to copy in one of these.   Appears as:

    + The Sansa Clip + 4 GB

    -Internal memory

    + Albums

    + Audio books

    + Music

    + Playlists

    + Podcasts

    + Records

    + Service

My D drive that reads the CD has these files it contains:

Autorun.inf and sansa - install .exe and one other file that reads:

fscommand with these files it contains: dloadrhap.exe, dloadrhap.txt, proxy.bat, proxy.exe

If I do not have need of these, please let me know.  I don't want to stuff more then I need to run the player.

I'm assuming that I need only the files autorun.inf and the sansa - install .exe.

I do not understand what is Rhapsody or why I need.

    Thank you.

    Bonnie

Now, don't laugh at this suggestion, but: when you get the player, there is a transparent plastic sticker that was placed on the screen of the player, which has a screen simulation showing the items that describe you see on your screen - have - you, you take off the sticker? (It generally is a small tab on the right side of the tile to help with that.) Once you do this, the player I hope will begin to operate as expected. On the CD, you don't need at all! The CD is required to use the separate music Rhapsody and optional subscription service (for which you pay every month, after a free trial, usually). If you do not want the service, go to the CD. Finally, you should check and see if your drive is the latest firmware - look under settings to the player and to compare this version number firmware recent listed in the upgrade thread Firmnware sticky at the top of this forum. If the thread here has a more recent version of firrmware, recommended that you upgrade to it-, it is very easy to do. I hope this helps!

  • Labels cutting MP3 Sansa Clip +.

My newly acquired Sansa Clip + (such as an upgrade to my Sansa Clip v1) gives me a bit of problem.

Difference in quality side (I expressed the opinion that v1 seems a tad better) its the Clip + gives a little problem of tag id3 so.

Some artist or track names have their cut text, for example:

"Theatre Of Tragedy" becomes "Film Theatre"

"Rage Against The Machine" becomes "Rage against the.

Loading the same MP3s in EasyTag shows tags in its entirety.

Don't know if its relevant, but the same thing (cutting of tag) arrives on my v1 as well.

Someone knows what may cause this? I use EasyTag 2.1.5 on Ubuntu 9.04, if anyone has a specific setting that works, it will be great.

Conversion of all the tags in v2.3 fixes. He was previously on 2.4. Problem solved!

  • Being probably really stupid, but I can not get my Playlists on my Sansa Clip

    Hello!

You just bought a Sansa Clip 8 GB for the United Kingdom and I'm very happy with it - many of my CD then tried to get smart (?) transferred by creating a playlist, put a few songs in there and synhcing to the top with Clip - no joy!  The read-only list that I see on the Clip is "GoList" and the only way I can add songs to the one on the camera itself - not ideal but doable.

Have updated the firmware on the clip to the latest version with no improvement - can't seem to curb any personal playlists - I even tried to create a playlist called 'GoList' to see if ir would crush the GoList playlist on the clip.  There can be no.

I use the clip with Windows Xp Home Edition (SP3) which has WMP 11.0.5721.5260 and have the unit as automatic detection modes MSC and MTP mode did not work (the computer does not recognize the device)... I think that mode MSC, PlayLists don't synch?

Any help / advice would be appreciated gratefully.

    Jim.

    Glasgow, Scotland, UK

Thank you very much - now that I know that playlists are not supposed to synchronize in MSC mode, I'll invest my energy to get the mode MTP to work... just thought I was missing something really obvious.  In terms of achievement of the MTP mode work there are loads of articles and advice in this forum and elsewhere on that - I probably need a update driver MTP or need a better version/reinstall WinXP HE or something like.

As I am totally new to the unit - and digital music in general (been in the dark ages too long!) I really did not know what, if anything I was doing wrong.  Your answer really helped (and it is not indicated in the user manual or the docs supplied with the device) once again, thanks a lot.

    Jim.

  • Questions on Sansa Clip + units purchased in different stores: there are slight differences?

    Hello all-

My spouse and I bought a SanDisk Sansa Clip + 4 GB in different stores the same day.  We intend to keep only one and the packaging is slightly different, so after a brief purchase background, I have some questions as to the differences between the two in order to solicit advice as to who to keep and which you want.

    CONTEXT OF PURCHASE:

Two units have been sold at the same price, both have the same UPC and the return of the policies/guarantees for two stores seem to be identical.  The color of each is the same (black) and the exercise of copyright for packing at the rear is 2010 for both, that is: (c) 2010 SanDisk Corpation.  We have not broken the seal on each box and do not want to facilitate the return of one.

    What is different?

I bought my unit to H.H.Gregg here in the United States, and the number above the same UPC's:

    SDMX18R-004GK-C57

    And here's the UPC number:

    80-56-09564 - 004 G

My spouse bought at best buy and the number above the UPC:

    SDMX18R-004GK-A57B

    And here is the UPC:

    80 56-09570 - 004 G

In addition, those bought at H.H.Gregg indicates 'Software Rhapsody', and the Rhapsody logo under 'quick start guide' in the column of "Content" on the left side of the box while one bought at best buy Rhapsody No mention outside of the box.  And with the exception of a white banner with "Sansa Clip + 4 GB" on the face at the bottom of the box purchased at best buy, the type of packaging, graphics and colors look identical.  Both made in China.

    MY QUESTIONS:

1 - does anyone know of any slight difference between the two?

    2. that contains software Rhapsody and the other and if so is the inclusion of this software an additional benefit?  (Never used Rhapsody, but my understanding is that it is similar to iTunes?)  All opinions on this topic is welcome, although I've never used iTunes and maybe not a similar service.  The software takes more space and it is difficult to remove if I don't want to?)

    3. I suspect the above number ending by "-A57B" (i.e. with a ' B' versus without him) indicates Sansa units shipped to the and sold through Best Buy, where the 'B '.  Is this correct?

    4. However, the numbers which could describe the difference between two low, the middle parts which are "- 09570 -" and "- 09564-"? "»  Is the '- 09570 -"a model a little later?  (Again, the "-09570-" is that of HHGregg, without any indication of Rhapsody.)

    5. who would keep you, or is it just a case of flip a coin?

Sorry for nit-picky issues, but I recall reading some interest in the version material different numbers with the other units of Sansa and the benefits of one over the other and I was wondering if there might be a hardware update version at play here as well.

    Thanks for your time! :-)

    =================================================

    Changed to correct typo:

The first issue of the unit to buy at best buy should have a 'B' added at the end, as I was writing it under 'MY QUESTIONS'.  It is:

    SDMX18R-004GK-A57B

    =================================================

    Edit #2 to fix typo:

    "column" vs "colum".

Interesting, thank you for researching it! I tried before that my post came but dry.

Until then the objective eye differences?  I would be particularly interested in distinctions of subjective performance between the tuner chips, if any, that the radio will receive a daily use.  Also welcome all favor referring to other physical differences such as brightness/contrast screen.

Still, I guess there is no way to distinguish between the two by the package box numbers and that a practical diagnosis is necessary?

Thanks to all the other replies, in particular the ideas of Rhapsody.

(Incidentally, I'm curious to know if there are differences in sound quality - dynamic, range, volume, all - between the Clip + and Sansa alays such as the "rocket" or same-track playback on each indistinguishable?)

    Thank you!

    JVR

JVR, I don't think that there should be no difference in performance between them. Most likely the changes have occurred due to a different provider offering a better price on a part of SanDisk. My two readers Clip + the two appear identical in every way. And insofar as comparing them to the "rocket", I have two rockets as well, and they seem to everyone to play and hear the same way, at least using the Sansa firmware.

  • Sansa Clip barely working

My Sansa Clip works more yesterday, I don't think it was even after connecting it to my PC. The problems:

    • When I try to play music, it starts in mode 'break '. Won't even play when I 'force' in playback mode
    • slow start and stop times
    • I can connect to my PC, but the only display of file is DevIcon.fil (182 612 bytes)

Can't use it and I have no ideas left. It is completely charged, about 40% used space, the firmware version is 02.01.32F.

On your Clip, try the settings-> Format.  Note that any music currently thereon is erased.

  • Sansa Clip color issue

This may seem like a strange question... but does the Sansa Clip 2 GB pink light/baby?

I see online is the hot pink.

I found one for sale, used, but in the image, it's a very light shade of pink. I asked if it was the actual color and not with a blanket, and they said that it is the color of the device.

I don't want to be caught, but also do not want to pass on a good deal.

    Thank you!!

There are 2 shades of pink, and one is a very light shadow, as you describe.

All of a sudden my Sansa Clip is not recognized by my computer. I use MSC forced for a year and have seen the page referred by others with this problem. Nothing seems to work. Download the new firmware will it correct even if the device is not recognized? How the new firmware can be installed on the device?

At present the Clip plays already charged music, but I can add more.

    Suggestions? Thank you.

Your firmware has USB mode in the settings? If so, switch to MSC there... problem solved!
