Choose the right power supply for hp P6180t

Hi I'm going to buy a new power supply soon for my HP pavilion p6180t desktop computer and I started a 300w to the corsair cx750 power level. I also want to get a new graphics card soon something in the mid-range. I was wondering if this power supply is the right choice, or if its too much for my computer because I read in another forum that you do not want a power supply with a lot more power you will actually need. For a gtx 660, the minimum is 600w I think so I wanted to just make sure that the power supply is the right choice for my computer. Thank you

In fact, I think that the minimum for a gtx660 is 450w. I think a 750w for this computer is excessive. A 500w would be a lot. But if you buy one with too much power is just a waste of money it actually will not cause a problem. Like putting gasoline in an engine that doesn't need only regular.

  • Replace the power supply for a Pavilion a140n

How to install a new power supply in a HP Pavilion a140n? Is there a step by step guide?

    Zz30fg, welcome to the forum.

Is the model you list correct?  I can't find anywhere.

Before you start, I suggest that you measure existing power supply unit (PSU) to make sure that the one you choose to insert in the space provided.

The first thing you will do is turn off the computer.  Disconnect all devices that are connected, for example, keyboard, mouse, printer, etc.  Once done, remove the side cover of the case.  There are two or more screws on the back of the computer that you have to remove.  Then slide the side gently to the rear.  Put it somewhere safe.   Be sure to touch the metal inside of the case before touching any components.  This will eliminate static electricity (ESD).  Now you can disconnect the cables from the PSU.  This is where it gets a little tricky.  I normally take a picture of the connections and mark them as clearly as possible on the motherboard.  Believe me, you'll be much happier if you do.  Once this operation is complete, it is time to remove the (4) screws that hold the power supply in place.  Hold it with care.  If it falls it can damage other components.

The new power supply will be marked with the appropriate connector cables.  At this point, it's just the opposite of what you were doing to uninstall the existing PSU.  Install the power supply into the case.  Do not overtighten the screws.  Make sure that the cables are inside the case.  Once in place, carefully connect all cables to the appropriate connectors.

  • The upgrade of the power supply for a HP Pavilion 500-054

    Hey people,

I'm changing the 500-054 flag so that it can play a few games, not a hardcore gamer, just want to be able to play the occasional game. I want to get a lower end external video card, but this requires a power supply greater than 300. I am looking for a new power supply for my computer, but I couldn't find one for the 500-074. Are the ones that will work for my computer or I am a hopeless case?

    Thank you

A standard ATX power supply will work. Please look at the Corsair CX430, CX500, CX600, or their variations of modular cables for your needs.

  • Questions about the replacement of a power supply for a P7-1235

I decided to do an update on my Pavilion P7-1235. I put in a graphics card and put in power level. After doing some research on this forum and others I know well enough that I need. The only question I have is about the food. I don't know what the original power supply. There is a vent on the side where it however. So I guess that there is a fan on this side of the power supply. This eating plan I get:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817139050 & TPK = % 20500% 20% 20modular %2 watt Corsair...

I noticed that the fan is on top? Now there is no high ventilation in my P7-1235, I worry for nothing? I think that all the supplys to look the same. What is the top of the fan page for? Or can anyone suggest a replacement perfect for my exact Pavilion model?

Sorry if the questions are stupid, but I'm still learning and want to do what I can myself!

    Hello

Yes, you can use the power supply the same way. The image is in a vertical position for the convience of the buyer. I have the same with number of power supplies and it was fine. You can check the following links people have set up exact POWER supply in different ways.

    http://pcpartpicker.com/builds/by_part/Corsair-power-supply-cx500m

    However, please be aware of your power supply size and your case. If you have all materials/components in stock for your computer, then it is what it is;

    ATX case:

    : Height 39.4 (15.55 inches)

    Width: 17.5 cm (6.89 in)

    Depth: 40.9 cm (16,14 inches)

    PSU stock:

    (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches)

    And the power supply you want;

    Corsair size;

    "5.9"x 3.4"x 6.3"

As you can see the length of the Corsair is considerably larger than your stock of power supply. This could hampor of air or could even make it so the holes of the PSU and the case does not match. However, this is usually not what worry. The height and width that should be worried because the length rarely causes problems, I wanted to just make sure that you knew in advance.

Take advantage of your power supply; Corsair is a great brand.

How to choose the right RAM for my laptop (Pavilion 15-e034tx). I know I should buy DDR3 ram.

Are there other factors should I consider when buying one? I got 2 slots for ram, which od these combos are possible?

    1-4 + 4 GB
    2-4 GB + 8 GB
    3-8 GB + 8 GB

    From the Manual:

Two customer accessible/upgradable memory module slots

Support for dual channel DDR3L (1600 MHz)

Support 8192 MB RAM system in the following configurations:

    8192 MB (8192 MB × 1, × 4096 MB 2)

    Manual download link

See page 53 for instructions. Memory access is easy via the service Panel. This is the part number for the approved 4 HP concert module:

    4 GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600 MHz) 691740-001

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-691740-001-4GB-1600MHz-PC3L-12800/DP/B00CI08FX4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1451655870 & SR = 8-2 & Keywords = 691740-001

A 8 GB module is listed in the manual, and it's a 3rd generation of processor i5 I suspect 2 x 8 = 16 concerts would work, but strictly following the manual your only option is to add a 4 GB for a total of 8. Most users really not more 8 GB and adding a second identical module will allow two-channel operation, so you should see a noticeable jump in the overall performance.

    Hello

Yes, the power supply will be ok. It is a desktop computer, so you don't have to use exactly the same power supply. It can be even more powerful, but be sure there is all compatible connectors. It seems that the version of the CDR is only 300W and the DDR 400 w. The connectors are the same...

  • The 460W power supply will be sufficient for the GTX 1070?

Just place an order for a R5 with an i7, GTX 1070 and a diet of 460W.

I'm not going for the largest power supply, because I'm not a fan and do not upgrade components.  If the configuration of Dell said 460 page might work, I saw that he needed to upgrade the PSU. I preferred using the extra $100 for the video card rather than the 970-1070.

Now, reading around forums, I continue to see comments that the recommended food for a GTX 1070 is 600 Watts (by guru3d.com).

I still have time to cancel the order because it is very recent.  Do I need to worry about this power supply?  How would I know if it is not sufficient for use?  The frame rate would be low, or the stability of the system would show signs?

    Hello

Yes, the 460W will work well if is unique. Check the image below and let me know if you need anything else:

  • HP Elite 1090-T H8: seeking your suggestions for upgrading the power supply for a new video card

I have a HP EliteH8-1090 t who is about a year, but with an AMD Radeon HD 6570 low power graphics card and a 450W power supply. I want to upgrade the 650W power to support the installation of a replacement graphics card.

I tried to replace the HP 450W with Corsair TX650 and Corsair TX850 food. The system appears to power (DVD drawer opens and closes, the hard disks spin, fans run) with either a Corsair, he's stuck at this point. My system is unable to enter start mode when either power supply is installed - it seems stuck in a mode of seed, and the monitor still asleep.

Can someone please advise on a compatible power supply for HP system? I'm puzzled by why a simple exchange of a power supply does not work. Just like a record, the system has a card mother Pegatron IPMTB-K (Truckee).

    Thank you!

No problem. I wish you good luck with it. On a positive note the HX650 is a much better than the TX650 ILA unit internal quality and what I like is the best it's quite fan fan much quieter than the TX650 while helping your organization of cable being modular and help keep temperatures cooler in your computer case.

  • The power supply for Dell Precision Workstation upgrade

Recently, I posted a question regarding the upgrade of that food to a XPS 8700 and it seems that I can use ATX power supplies and replace as necessary to these computers. But now I am also thinking of dell precision workstations, because I want to have a few relatively high-performance computing done on my system, what it seems as a workstation would be better, as the work of Dell Precision T1700 Mini Tower. But I can't understand anything on the question of whether I can pass the integrated power supply so that it exceed 700w. Thus,.

    (1) any reflection on the power supply upgrade, whether possible?

    (2) are there jobs integrated with a high (greater than 700watts) power?

    (3) in the future, if I wanted to know if I could make these upgrades to other Dell machines, where can I find out about this?

    Hi Daniel191919,

Yes, most power supplies from Dell can be improved with standard parts. But honestly, the easiest would be to get a precise work with the PSU W 1100 high range.

  • Pavilion 500-329: to upgrade my power supply for my new GPU

Hi, I recently got and 660 GTX ti as a gift from a Guild mate. Unfortunately, the stock PSU is a potato (very) disappointing 300W. Who also likes to scream when I'm still so things like move my mouse. Wonderful innit!

in any case, I've been shopping around for a PSU that could fuel at least my graphics card for the recommended specifications, 450w, unlike what is 240 R7 in the system right now, which is recommended to have 400w... And I managed to find one that meets at my expecations in size and power output.

I just want to see if someone has comments on the sizes to enter in the case of Pavvy 500-329.

Since your Canadian, I took the liberty of a few analyses available of the PSU.

Your current system has a R7-240 which is inspired by 30W.  The GTX660ti attracts 150W.  The net difference is 120W.  The original power supply is 300W but it is a maximum.  You'd never see your car top SPEED!

I would like to see you get a Corsair CX CDN 96,19 600W as your choice. Here are the specifications.   It's 80 + efficient power consumption curve and focus not on your system. It is also an RIGHT in your system.  If cost is a concern, then I suggest you step down for the 500W version.  It's 20 less CDN.  Its also an exact adjustment.

  • upgrade power supply for h-rs880-µATX

I would like to move power from 300w to 450 or 500 more. Don't know what power supply would be compatible for H-RS880-µATX motherboard.

    Kako571111, welcome to the forum.

When a help request, you must always include the brand / model of the computer or the monitor. This information is necessary for us to review the specifications for them.

I sugest measuring the current power supply (PSU) and comparing them with the one you choose.  You can buy one that has a quantity of power.  However, I do recommend more than 600W.  The computer uses only the amount of power required to carry out.  A 600W unit will give you possible shared future updates.
