DEAD sound card?

I think that I cut my sound card.  Tried to use the new speakers with cords do not correspond to the adaptors CA / CC and next thing I know... no sound for any pregnant now and my tv tuner will not work because he says that without the audio.  Any help or ideas out there?

Turn on with my HP Pavilion Media Center PC, it didn't there separate sound card.  After no less than six hours with HP specialists of online chat trying to solve problems, I finally told me I have to send my PCU to HP and for around $300 they could repair or replace the motherboard because the sound is integrated.

Fortunately, I came across a post about people buying just usb sound card adapters of anywhere from $ 10 to $ 75, depending on your use.  I contacted HP before buying two online options, and they confirmed that even the $10 unit could restore my sound.  Then, I sent two emails to HP indicating that I am extremely unhappy that they did not disclose this option, even without giving any competitor product info.  I received a response from a support guy tech who say only enough to confirm I was on the right track without saying something negative about their pressure for the solution of $300.

Fortunately for forums like this because HP and other manufacturers have no incentive to turn to low-cost solutions.   I have yet to receive two cards that I bought, a good market and one that is supposed to rival the sound of my original computer option.

Thanks for your help!

  • TouchSmart HP Envy 15-j078ca - sound card problems

    Hello!

I have a HP Envy 15-j078ca running windows 8.1 touchsmart and, recently, I noticed that my audio is static/crackling noises. A test, I plugged my head phones to see if it was a speaker problem or a problem of sound card and audio in my headphones was also static noises.

Some of my audio programs tell me that it is a sound card problem.

What I did: I followed the advice on another thread that had me uninstall the drivers and hand it to reset my bios settings can have my drivers to reinstall but I found that my audio worked perfectly! ... for about 2 hours then my cell phone was dead silent so I got this back a few days and the audio was fine again... for a few hours before he began to do staic noises again.

I'm not really sure what the question is here, or how I can correctly solve this so any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you.

  • Sound card is enabled but not started

Having problems with Windows XP Home Edition.  No card sound or sound card is enabled but not started.

I tried Windows XP, but when the page is loaded the responses do not carry on XP?

    A. reinstall or update drivers for your sound card. Never get the drivers from Windows Update. Bring:

    1. site of the device mftr. ; OR
    2. site of the card mother mftr. If the material is on board; OR
    3. website of the OEM manufacturer for your specific machine if you have a PC OEM (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the Web site where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

    1. read all documentation that you got when you purchased the computer.
    2. If the computer is OEM, access the site Web of the OEM for your specific model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
    3. download, install and run a program of inventory of the free system like Belarc Advisor or System Information for Windows.

    http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html - Belarc Advisor
http://www.gtopala.com/ - System Information for Windows

    B. Si the fact of the above does not work, your sound card may be dead. If you have a desktop computer, uninstall the old card and put in a new its PCI card. It is very costly, less than $25 for a base. If you have aboard, first disable it in the BIOS.

If you can not do the test yourself and/or are uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up before taking the machine into a shop. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • CS3 - update sound card

Have a strange problem with my machine and Premiere Pro CS3.

Integrated sound card is dead some time ago and I replaced it with another card. Sound works fine through the windows. But there is a problem with PP3. When we capture you can hear the end sound of the camera and the computer speakers. But once you have a clip in the program not his fate. You can see the audio channel, and sound levels indicate that something is there.

When I look in the Audio output mapping preferences I see what looks like the old sound card.

Do I need to reinstall the program to extend the card or is there a simpler way.

    Paul

    Paul,

According to John T., get the latest audio drivers from the mfgr. Web site.

If it does not, then this ARTICLE is a list of possible causes. Take a look, that one could give you adjustments.

If everything is set correctly, please see the section on ASIO4ALL. This has been a boon to many, especially in the forum of the hearing.

    Good luck

How can I get the sound card to play on the speakers of the car?

Usually connecting the phone to the car system - particularly at the point where you can play the music usually connects the Maps app

There is a switch at the bottom of the maps app with a speaker symbol that allows you to toggle between having the sound coming through the phone or Bluetooth

I understand that you have been troubled by Audio drivers

    • I recommend you update the BIOS by using the tool HP Support assistant or the HP website.
    • Once you update the bios > uninstall the current sound driver by using Device Manager > then use this LINK (ditto) to download the updated audio driver and that should fix this problem.

  • Need driver sound card for Win 7

I recently bought a computer with Windows XP and Windows 7 top load, but apparently when I was downloading Windows 7 it erased the sound card and now I have no sound.

Before I loaded Windows 7 I + made + sound, and I tested the check on preloaded games.

I tested the sound on several YouTube videos after downloading the program, but there was no sound. The small speaker on the bottom right of the screen has a x on it, which is unusual, I went into the Panel and discovered that I had "no audio output device installed.

Where can I find a download of virus-free sound card? (Preferably Microsoft and if possible, free)

Can you please tell us which model of laptop you have exactly?

  • Satellite Pro A120 - how to identify the sound card

    Hello

don't know if you can help me on this one, I have more or less the same problem.
Bit long-winded, but we broken rececently, very clever thieves, stole a number of point with my computer with disks of Toshiba bag. (LOL) the lap top was next to the bag on the desk, they left.

Since then contracted a virus which means I had to completely format the hard drive and installed XP.

No problem, but now I can not find the audio drivers right. Q. How can I identify the sound card on the top of the Tower?

You n t know what sound chip has your laptop?
On the Europe of Toshiba page you can find the drivers for this model of laptop.
I can see that the Realtek sound card driver has been released and so I'm 100% sure that the sound chip was made by Realtek.
