    Hello

I bought a Factory reconditioned Chromebook 14 several months (24/03/2016).  Today, I plugged the chromebook for a bit of extra power (battery to 64% at the time). I noticed that the charge indicator on the battery icon in the lower right corner of the screen comes on.  Then I unplugged the power cord and plugged in. The indicator light on the side of the chromebook (next to the electric cannon) is a turn on.  After moving the cable of load at 3 different points of sale in the House (which have been confirmed working by other devices with the help of power), I determined that the problem is indeed with the Chromebook (or the power cable).  At this point, the battery is still around 60% and I chromebook turned off where the diagnostic data are needed.

Other forums, I looked through so far have asked for the release of crosh on a battery test, I ran. The output is below:

Welcome to crosh, the developers of Google Chrome OS shell.

If you got here by mistake, don't panic!  Just close this tab and operate.

Please help.  I don't know if it's the charging cable, or the chromebook himself.  The battery seems fine. It just seems to be a problem with the entrance of power between the wall and the machine itself.

Here's the whole problem, end-to-end.  I spoke to a Google Chromebook support Member who accompanied me through a hard reset-both with the power cable connected and without. This term did nothing. They me transferred to HP support. He checked that I didn't have another device to test the power cable, or another power cable to test the powered chromebook.

While on the phone, we talked about how this was a buy refurbished with a 90 day warranty, and given that it was day 91 (Yes, the problem started the day after the expiry of the 90 day warranty), I had 2 options - pay $43 plus taxes and delivery for a new power cable , or pay $229 to send in the chromebook for maintenance.

At that point, I decided I think about my options and call later with a decision.  In the meantime, I went and read amazon.com for power cable options and came across this:

    https://www.Amazon.com/replacement-adapter-Chromebook-laptop-computer/DP/B00IZQSP8K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&QID=1467039372&SR=8-2&keywords=Chromebook+14+power+cord

It came in the mail yesterday, and I was able to verify that it works with my chromebook (model 14-q039wm) and load the chromebook very well indeed.  My problem has been resolved with a new feeder from amazon for $15.99 + shipping costs.

Thanks for helping make me the representative of Google!

  • On the Satellite P30-131 power problem

I have a power problem and I tried the process of elimination, but could do with help, I gave as much detail as possible and appreciate any help or advice.

This started a few weeks ago and seems to be deteriorating slowly.
I turned on the laptop and all 3 lights before the main power on fully charged battery light and light green...

I started noticing a few times when my power cord is plugged into the laptop that, without warning, the laptop switches to the battery power and also turns off power light, battery light turns off too but which may or may not happen, in any case the laptop is still on but now running on battery.

I then out of the supply cable and reconnected it hoping that power is restored, but it has no effect, I have to close then low laptop unplug then Pug back in and I get all 3 lights and then I can start.
Now, when I boot it does not always solve the problem and I can finish on a few seconds of starting battery.

Its certainly not the battery because it has a new battery replaced 12 months however, its either the adapter or the connection inside the laptop that plugs into the adapter.

The reason I think it is perhaps one of them is when the laptop going to battery, lead that is always plugged into laptop, I moved, and this can cause the return of t lights and also the laptop back in, power once again, but if I let go then it goes to the battery again one the light turns off. I also took the battery out and kicked and the laptop works but has lost the power sometimes when I moved it turned off my tour so I'm sure that it is related to the lead, but do not know if its internal or external.

    Any help or advice appreciated

    Thank you

What kind of help did you expect exactly?

    > Its certainly not the battery as it was a new battery replaced 12 months however, its either the adapter or the connection inside the laptop that plugs into the adapter.

It seems you have tested everything that could be tested using common control procedures, I think that more is not possible
I can provide also a few suggestions and I m coming to the conclusion that neither electronic power supply is not ok or your power adapter.
But I would tend to the first; electronic power supply.

As you can see that these are only suggestions

  • Power problems: computer turns off when the power supply cord is unplugged.

original title: power problems: computer shit turned off when the power supply cord is unplugged.

    I have a HP Pavilion dv2000

    Windows vista home premium/sp2

AMD Turion (TM) 64/2 1.80 ghz processor

    1 GB memory

    32 bit operating system

I have 2 problems with this laptop.

    !. I have lost the power cable and bought an expensive one online step (model: PA-1650-02 c. input 100-240v 1.5 put out a(1,5A) 18.5V 3. 5 = a)

When I first plugg cord battery charge light came on the balance, then he started to come on and outside.

now its completely off, even with the power cord plugged in. on the lower right part of the screen its showing that cord is connected to the power supply and the battery is fully charged, but as soon as I unplugg the power cord or remove the computer cut right away.

the second problem is that the left mouse botton does not work, the work aside right very well. I went in the proprties to put it right, click on to, but who does not work either. I've updated the drivers but still nothing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi aloum,.

    (a) what kind of mouse you are using?

    (b) the left button of the mouse seems to be stuck or it does not meet the click? This only happens with certain applications?

Step 1: Test the mouse on another computer or another mouse on the test computer

To determine whether the mouse or the computer is defective, follow these steps:

    1. test the mouse in question on a system that works, you know. If the problem appears to follow the mouse, you may need to return or replace the mouse.

2 test a mouse you know is working on the computer in question. If the problem seems to stay on the computer, then the problem is most likely related to the software.

In regard to the battery not holding charge

Battery problems are often associated with the battery itself. If you encounter this problem, contact your mobile PC manufacturer. If you purchased the battery separately from the notebook computer, contact the manufacturer of the battery.

  • possible power problem

    Hello

I have a desktop HP Pavilion 7865 has started to give me some power problems.  I followed the troubleshooting steps to

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph06788#n414

The first time it's happened that I noticed that the power light little would go as I connect the power cord to the back of the unit.  But the little green light and then returned.  After some tests, the power light remained on and I was able to turn on the pc.  However, it started again this morning so I finally took my monitor power cord and used this one to connect the power supply to the back of the computer and to a power outlet and it works.  I plug the pc power cord into the monitor and my monitor works too so I don't know if it is or is not the power cord, but I'll go out and get a new one and see if that solves all my problems.

However, my question is this... If the problem is with the power supply that I plug in can be replaced?  If so, it is something I can do myself or should I consider somewhere to do?  Also, if I need to replace the power supply and I can do it, how can I know what type of replacement power supply unit power I need to get and are there any other cables that I also need?

Thank you so much for all your help.

Form factor is Micro ATX PS3. Here's a picture: http://www.911forpcs.com/7865.html

  • BATTERY LENOVO IDEAPAD Z510 PROBLEM

I bought Z510 a year back, in this short time I am facing battery problem. Battery won't charge and the system to keep plugged in a State with each use.

I'm a home user and use the laptop for a limited time. I don't understand why lenova did not provide a removable battery that can be changed by the user only.

Now new battery is not available on the market, also that Lenova simply made it their responsibility saying laptop in not less than warranty.

I ask Lenovo go to analysis of root causes of this problem that hundreds of people face the same problem in this model.

Hope Lenovo would provide some software to assist the problem or at least to give the details of the service provider where the batteries can be repaired or replaced.

In response to customer relationships of unexpected problems with the performance of the batteries portable Z500 and Z510, Lenovo made an update of the firmware of battery available via download on the Lenovo Forums.

This battery firmware is intended to solve unexpected load following symptoms when a Z500 and Z510 mobile phone is turned on:

    • Battery is dead

    • Battery is not detected

    • Battery is detected and charged 100%, but when the power is removed, the laptop turns off immediately

    • When the battery is fully charged and the AC power is removed, the battery level falls considerably less than 10 minutes

Please note a procedure step by step for the upgrade of the firmware is included in the .zip file, found in the file "ReadMe".

  • Lenovo TPT2 screen problem, refused the warranty.

I got the thinkpad Tablet 2 in February of this year. He had no problems with it until a few weeks ago, where the screen began to develop horizontal and vertical lines whenever I use the stylus. I thought it is very good, that I just won't use the stylus for now because I really need the Tablet and he was not so great a questions. A few days after that the screen went blank when I turned it on, after it start windows, the Office appear, but now the vertical/horizontal line became a staple on the screen. I called lenovo CS and told him about the situation, that the CS was being perfectly understand and told me to send in for repair. A few days after I send the Tablet, I check my status online and it says "we hold for customer information. I called Lenovo CS again and this time, the person on the phone was very rude telling me that the defect on the screen was cause of physical damage and wanted $750 for the repair. $750 seriously? Where they come to the top with these numbers? A new tablet on Amazon costs just under $ 600 after taxes. We spend a few minutes, arguing that the Tablet has never been abuse/drop/incorrectly and it was certainly vice manufacturing or quality control. This conversation has basically no the case because I believe that Lenovo has never wanted to honor their warranty at first. I came to send it back because in the end there is no way that I have to pay $750 to fix the screen. Someone at - it suggestions as to what can do with the Tablet after I get it back?

Fix it yourself? I had the same problem with the power supply. They wanted $350.00 for a portion of $40.00

  • Physical button power problems

    Hello

I got my Lenovo U410 a year ago (it will be a year of the end of October), and I loved it, since I got it but a anoyone else noticed how filmsy power button is? Very thin and sometimes a small corner of it will get stuck under the frame. I thought it was pretty normal and dealed with my own way, but then this morning it stopped me to start.

I tried both with the AC adapter / in and out, held for 30 seconds and all the other methods, but it does not turn on. It was as if something had got stuck behind the key and it kept me from fully pressing down. I don't think my handeling and care is in the present case, given that I managed to keep a HP Pavilion DV2700 healthy since 2008.

Is it a manufacturing error, design, or is my phone just a fluke? I really don't want this to happen.

I realized what it was. It was a problem of physics with the computer. The key on the receiver under the button was worn out and had to be replaced. I don't know why he had used if fast (I had the laptop for just a little over a year). You'd pay a little more than half a grand for a laptop would make to the less lasting for two or three years. Thanks Lenovo. Really.

  • New Lenovo battery power X 61 Tablet although it is completely reloaded

My old battery was barely holding a charge so I ordered a new battery 8 cells of Lenovo. It arrived yesterday. I put in and loaded and worked with the tablet. When I unplugged HQ to move to another room of the screen went black. The Thinkpad had lost power completely despite the new battery. So I plugged it put it back and looked into the Mangager of power that shows the following information.

As you can see that the battery is new, 0 cycles to this topic, is responsible for 96%.

Of course the Thinkpad is connected and can read all the data, but the battery isn't providing power. Anyone know what to do? Is the battery fault? I have to return it for a replacement? Or is there a solution?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I still had the old battery. There seems to be something wrong with the new battery. Lenovo send me a replacement that works and I noticed that the replacement is identical to my old battery (PN T 42, 5209 (ASM) and the instructions accompanying explicitly told to use only FN... 209 or PN... 205. I assume these are the 8-cell and cell-4 versions for my X 61 tablet. The other new battery that caused the problem was PN... 211. I guess that's for a different laptop with the same form factor, but the different technical specifications.

Lenovo has been very quick about it - they send me the new battery and a return label to the other battery that I gave to the UPS driver.

  • Power Mac G5 power problems...

Hello, on a quest to find a G5 computer, I found an early 2005 Power Mac G5 (2x2.7GHz). The first time I plugged it in and turned on, it works beautifully. The second time, I pressed the power button and heard a loud noise from the power supply. I replaced and this is what is happening now:

When I plug the power cable in, there is a small clicking noise about a second after plugging in, and the power led on the front of the machine flashes for the click. However, it does not at all depend on when I press the power button. When I unplug the cable, it makes the same noise about a second after I unplug the unit. I see a pale glow of the light output after unplugging it.

Anyone have any suggestions to solve this problem? It is part of a collection, that's why I want to do operational.

There may be defective capacitors or other power supply problems, including

overheating in the dust inside the power supply or air channels. And

If the device is cooled by liquid, other things may be involved.

Since all the PowerMac G5 power supplies are considered to be custom,.

to get a good replacement is a way hoped to improve the situation.

Unlikely as is, actually an inexpensive job.

Have you tried a SMC power management unit reset? Or reset PRAM?

  • Satellite Pro U400 starts - power problem?

    Hey,.

my liquid U400 down without any reason and doesn't start anymore.
My first idea was damage from CPU, but even if the laptop is taken to power the power led does not illuminate.

    (1) make U400 notebook work normally when the battery is removed, but pluged in power? Because if not maybe only the battery is broken.
    (2) any other ideas? :)

Guarantee is more than 1 months :(

Answer to your question is YES. You can remove the battery and use your laptop with AC power only. In most PC stores showing the rooms are placed laptop without battery. Probably the batteries have been stolen in the past.
Anyway, they can run with AC power only.

When you connect the laptop to the power plug and the power light is not on I assume that there is a problem of electronic power supply.
Contact the nearest authorized maintainer and ask for help.

  • With Satellite A30 power problems

    Hello

Over the last four years, I have been using a Satellite A30 with XP Pro... had no problems whats so ever until that last months... I started to notice the battery life becomes lower before (prob because of the decrease in battery life) but also when he is on the grid it will charge the battery to 100% but instead of power are removed from the sector It starts to drain the battery even when the sector is connected.

Another problem is that I have to keep or stop the laptop goes into hibernation mode so it can recognize it is powered from the battery to load... even in this case, it may take several attempts for the laptop to begin to charge the battery...

These problems started start after warranty, and was released in additional insurance coverage

Any information or help gladly appreciate it that I fight to get assignments done University

    Thank you

    Ben

    Hi mate,

had a similar problem with an other friend A30. After sending the machine to an ASP (certified partner), they told us that the internal charger was defective and they have offered to swap the motherboard.
But given that the motherboard was really expensive for him he sold the machine on Ebay and bought and Satellite A200 which is a machine really well.

I guess that the motherboard is gone...

    That's all

    See you soon
