Circular starting procedure

I just bought a Pavilion dv6 and cannot enter the configuration at all.

This comp is brand new and just be unwrapped, (well bought yesterday only got round to now)

What is happening is as follows.

The 1st screen I get is the one with the logo of hp on the black background.

The 2nd screen displays the message "windows is loading files" flashes, then the same message.

The flashing happens very quickly.

The 3rd screen displays the message "starting windows" and the windows logo appears.

The 4th screen shows a gray background and the command prompt window opens. Cannot read the prompt window screen flashes and goes back to the 1st screen. Once back on the 1st screen that the process repeats

Also, when you press the ESC key, I can access the start menu.

Also running diagnostics and everything out very well.

Have you checked the bios and that they are defined by default.

When I go to the Boot Manager and try to start from there I got the windows load message files and exactly the same thing happens.

When I try to retrieve the same exact procedures are followed, as the Boot Manager.

Please note this model is brand new and purchased yesterday and unpacked about 1 hour ago

Hello

Personally, I would resume directly to the retailer and you shouldn't have to replace, troubleshoot a brand new notrbook - it seems that the original image was not loaded properly and this may cause other issues (if you could get it to load) with the creation of your recovery disks etc.

Kind regards

Well, when I turn on my laptop it took a few minutes (4-5) before even Vista begins to work.

I have this screen where Toshiba check my system and it stay that the audit of about 5 minutes.

I thought that's the problem with Windows, but it's not.

Something with the bios or hard or?

    Help, please

    > I have this screen where Toshiba check my system and it stay that the audit of about 5 minutes.
I think you mean that the Toshiba start screen.
While the Toshiba splash screen is visible, a Power-on self test (POST) runs in the background and checks your hardware to ensure that everything is present and functioning.
The Power-on self test runs very quickly and usually, it does not have a lot of time as in your case 4-5 min.

I guess it takes a little more time because the BIOS research and possible bootable devices test.
I think that you should access the BIOS and it should set the defaults.
Also recommend setting the HARD drive as the first boot device in the BIOS Boot order.
This should help to shorten the search for a possible boot device.

On the other hand, it could also be that your HARD drive is malfunctioning.
This would undoubtedly affect the start-up procedure.

Anyway, as you can see it not easy to say why books starting procedure takes so long and what could be wrong.

Perhaps an ASP is an option for you. The technician can perform some diagnostic tests and could find the reason for you question.

    Good luck buddy

  • Correct the pool start and stop procedures

    Hi all

OK, so this weekend, we had an emergency at one of our sites, which demanded a full VDI / ESX stop and start a few hours later...

Because it was an emergency, I had no time to study the correct procedures but that's what I did... can you guys please see if I did the right thing?

The pool is a pool dedicated persistent linked clone.

    Stop:

Logged in admin mode and turned off the pool and the value 'Remote Desktop power politics' "Power Off"...

Off HA on the VDI cluster.

Stop manually all the VDIs through the vi client.

Put all hosts to stop then in maintenance mode.

And then reverse the procedure for starting well enough...

In addition to criticizing the closing / starting procedure, I have two questions

    (1) what does the 'Remote Desktop' political power' in fact? Aid integrated in explanation was really confusing...

    (2) when I activated the pool, the vdis all automatically powered... is this normal? I thought with a specialized pool, it would only turn on if the user attached to the vdi tried to connect to it?

Thanks in advance for any guy replied:

  • Slimline 260-p026: how to start my 260-p026 from a DVD?

I need to start my new 260-p026 since a DVD disc, so I can try to recover the data backed up from my defunct old PC. When the PC starts, I don't see any messages from the BIOS advising me how can I access the BIOS settings (I assume here that I simply need to change the order of boot... right?)

Please advise how to do it.

    Hello:

You must go into the BIOS and enable legacy mode and disable secure boot to boot from a DVD.

It is a new starting procedure with all the PCs that come with the W8 or newer.

Please see this guide for information on where to access these settings.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03659945/

I prefer rather than to change the boot order, press the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen for list options.

Select the F9 boot options menu, and then select the DVD drive in the list.

  • Tecra S10 starts in 8-10 min

I have a new Tecra S10 and a problem with a very long departure.

When I turn it on, after the "Microsoft Corporation" with the green bar (it takes about 40 seconds) the black screen comes there for appr. 4 6 min. During these long minutes approx. of the HARD disk LED flashes. once per second. Finally so I can see "wait" and the rest of the starting procedure. After you turn off when I start again in a few minutes (not more than about 10) the computer starts very fast (I think - normally) means in1, 5 min. If the break is longer the departure time is long yet.

Does anyone have any idea whats wrong?

I guess you have started your laptop for the first time and OS was not configured completely and ready for use.
After that several reboots of the preinstalled OS should be ready to use.

Beware also of Microsoft updates. By default it is set to automatic and when you're laptop computer online will starts to download all this and slow down performance and next reboot may take a lot of time again.

In my opinion nothing is wrong there.

  • Slow to start after installing SP2

    Hello

I had this problem after istalling SP2 on my Toshiba M30. I istalled SP2 a few times before and uninstalled it is for this reason. The starting time is now about 2.5 min istead of 30 sec prior to installation. I have installed SP2 on a clean computer (removed spyware, cleaned the registry, defragment and so forth), followed by steps. But still the same. I have the loading machine about 1 min before it comes to wallpaper, before SP2, just after the sound of welcome he went at bottom of screen, icons and the bar and I was done. Now, his home, then 30-40 sec, then background screen and nothing for 1-1.2 minutes and then I get icons, bar and machine becomes operational. No one of my demons have this problem. Please, if anyone knows what to do - let me know. Thank you!

Remember that SP2 installs additional firewall and security settings. It s all this entails loads initially. It takes several times.

You can check the background processes and apps which start to run.
It can be check in the msconfig. Type the command msconfig in the run window and check the Startup tab.

The starting procedure takes a little more time on my laptop because the antivirus application that loads initially.

  • What it means in fact "failure of oc". I get this on start up, & don't know how to fix it.

When I start the computer, I get a message saying: "failure of the OC.". Please enter together to change OC settings fail. I'll put up, but do not know which option to choose, so I usually just press F1 for bypass and continue with the starting procedure.

Check your computer or the manual of the motherboard for details on this message.  It is not a Windows error, it sounds like a warning "overclocking".  Some motherboards allow you to adjust different parameters to run the computer more quickly that it was designed to work.  You will almost certainly need to consult your motherboard manual or the manufacturer's support web site to find out what parameters to change to put things back to rights.

When the website a link to a pdf file, we get another error message: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library program: C:\ProgramFiles(X86)\InternetExplorer\iexplore.exe

    How do fix us this?

For the first question, according to this forum thread, it seems you have to go into Add/Remove programs and uninstall MobileMe and iCloud. These programs are installed automatically when you install iTunes.

For the second error message, you may need to reset your Internet Explorer settings. Here is a fix from Microsoft.

I hope that these fixes work for you! Otherwise, please provide more info on your system (i.e. product name/number, operating system and browser you use, and performance issues that you encounter beyond just error messages).

  • How to install the OS on Portege R100?

I have a Portege R100 by the usual means. It has been formatted so it doesn t have something about that. I read there are three ways to install an operating system. PC with USB CD-rom card, I tried without success since the pc card is a 32-bit card.

I ve tried to locate some computer dealers but they've all sent me away. Where can I buy (live in Trondheim, Norway) good CD with the specific pc card that would make me start the CD of Windows XP Home edition? Apparently Toshiba doesn't have a webshop with accessories. Is there another way to install Windows XP Home edition?
Can I boot from a USB pin if I copy the CD of Windows XP Home edition for that?

    IM desperate please answer :)

    Lars cordially

    Hello, Lars

If you want to use the original recovery media in this case, you must use external Toshiba card PC CD/DVD. The recovery image contains disk driver and because of this, the reader will be recognized correctly and start procedure will work automatically.

If you want to use the own external device, you must use BACK pilot to first use and after use of the drive. On this forum, one user recommended to copy the contents of the full version of Microsoft on the second partition CD and after that start the installation from there.

I didn t try so far and cannot give you more specific information how to proceed.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Crashing Windows 7

I just got a laptop Toshiba Satellite with windows 7.

I went to install it, I clicked on the 64 bit OS, and it's all going well at the start of the laptop it installed the drivers, and then restarted. Then it does the same thing again and again and again. But then it worked for some reason any with what looked like all the drivers installed. But when I turned it off it came with "Setup is preparing your computer for first use" and it just stays on that changing the screen and doesn t!

I was just wondering what I'm doing?

Is it possible to reinstall windows 7 without the CD?

As far as I know the installation of recovery takes a long time to complete the installation of the OS. This window you see can be there for 30 minutes or more.
I noticed the same thing on my Satellite L500.

For the whole operating system computer laptop installation must almost hour but will be all right then.
Please start procedure facilities HDD (F8 without CD) again and be patient.

  • Instead of the wizard of recovery HARD drive recovery

    Dear all,

I would like to re - install the OS on my Satellite Pro T130 laptop without changing the partitions. This is possible with the http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm Recovery Wizard

However, when I boot my laptop with the Advanced Boot Menu (F8), I think the recovery menu of disk in the System Recovery Options, no recovery Wizard.

I tried to start this wizard by starting the computer with the button zero (0) at the top, but it did not work. I closed the windows, pushed and held 0, turned on my laptop, when Toshiba logo appeared I sill held the key zero and instead of the Recovery Wizard, open windows.

I tried at least 10 times and it's getting frustrating.

I bought this laptop in Hungary in 2010.
I was wondering that Toshiba offers the two (HDD Recovery + Recovery Wizard) on their laptops or older laptops recovery options came with only HDD Recovery?

If the start procedure with the zero key does not work, what can I do?

In addition, I understand the difference between HARD drive recovery and Recovery Wizard is as follows: (please, correct me if I'm wrong)

HARD drive recovery is re-definition of the manufacturer State which means that it removes all the data in each partition. When you turn on the laptop first time computer, a wizard will appear so you can partition the hard drive. As out-of-box + customization option in the Recovery Wizard.

Recovery Wizard has three options: out of area (described previously), customization of partitions and recovery without changing the hard drive partitions. I want to use this option, so will not delete all the data of the first partition of the hard disk (drive C). Is no data on other partitions like D, E (etc.) readers.

    Am I wrong?

    Thank you for your answers,

    Kind regards

    Hello

According to the specifications of the laptop this Satellite Pro was offered with the version preinstalled Win7 and Windows XP Home edition recovery DVDs. Win7 preloaded includes preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator tool so the laptop owner can create recovery (bootable USB key) media which includes the original image of recovery for Win7. This bootable USB key can be used for recovery image installation if there is a problem with the installation of HARD drive recovery.

As I see you have a problem with the installation of HARD drive recovery, so my question is: did you create this recovery media? You, and you can use it for installing Win7?
    > However, when I boot my laptop with the Advanced Boot Menu (F8), I only find the recovery menu of disk in the System Recovery Options, no recovery Wizard.
Toshiba HDD Recovery option in the system recovery options will be available if phone has settings to factory only.
    > I tried to start this wizard by starting the computer with the button zero (0) at the top, but it did not work. I closed the windows, pushed and held 0, turned on my laptop, when Toshiba logo appeared I sill held the key zero and instead of the Recovery Wizard, open windows.
Why don't you use zero to startup? Where did you find the description that you use NRA to launch the installation of HARD drive recovery? I can see in the document validated by Toshiba, you need to use F8 only. When you use F8 and enter advanced startup options is option fix my computer available or not?
    > I asked Toshiba offers the two (HDD Recovery + Recovery Wizard) of the recovery options on their laptops or older laptops with single HDD Recovery?
All portable Toshiba offered with Win7 preinstalled have Toshiba HDD recovery option but only if they have the factory settings. If the owner of the laptop installation version of the OS option no longer available. In this case, you can install original recovery image using recovery media created.

From my experience, you should only use the out-of-box option. Be careful with the other options. Recover a custom size partition may lose all the data and recovery image too.

More important is: you have a recovery (USB or DVD) media or not?

  • HP Envy Phoenix 810 - 170st: Startup Hp Envy 810 - 170st problem

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=bmpOezTOfPU

    Greetings,

My pc is having a serious problem to initialize. When I turn it to be closed, it will not display. The lights come on, but the graphics card is not set up to start the monitor. And the fan is running at its top speed. It will be either do it for about half a minute and close, or should I stop it manually. Usually, the next attempt to start, will show the power comes on for about 2 seconds and then right back off the coast. After that, he goes on, and then will begin a normal start procedure. The problem started a while after obtaining a SSD hard drive.  The SSD is used as primary Windows startup disk and 2 3 TB drives were used for storage.

The problem is very confused, as one of the 3 TB drives the windows main drive helped, but do not solve the problem. So, I can not link on the SSD drive, running the pc on ACHI vs sound original RAID, or if there is a real problem of power or the motherboard.

I have a box from looking at it, but this brings us to another problem. I don't have the pc in the configuration that was causing the most problems, because an associate of HP called me, said that if I sent all the additional parts, they would probably not returned. I could lose my extra HDs? And if I can't properly present the problem, is it possible that it can fail, and my machine is back with the same problems?

SSDS are sometimes a problem and I don't really understand it.  In the early days the cloning software was having a problem with the SSD drive.  Different manufacturers have problems with the motherboard controllers, etc.  Now, I assumed that the problems are more or less solved.  It could be in one of these areas, but check with the Samsung forums to explore options for this SSD model.

  • ignore startup items

I remember that (in the era OS9) Mac could be started without loading/opening the startup items (in the list defined by the user) by pressing a combination of keys at startup.

Every morning my Mac starts automatically with the main programs I use during the day (Mail, Safari, Soho, Photoshop, Agenda, Contacts etc.).

Sometimes, when I closed the system overnight and I me remember I forgot to send a mail to the beginning-upI must wait until the Mac has traveled the entire procedure once again, while I only need mail for a few minutes.

Is there a key combination that takes care of jump startup items.

I couldn't find one in all sorts of help files and apple-docs.

I read somewhere that the shift would work, but try this, gave me a (very slow) progress at the start bar.

It took Mac about 10-15 minutes to run through the starting procedure; not exactly what I was looking for.

In addition, the iMac feels slow after this last 'experience '.

I don't think that there is a way to do it quite the way you want to, just for a start:

Automatically re - open windows and applications, as well as documents on your Mac - Apple Support

Now the SHIFT key at startup under OS x starts in Mode safe mode, which disables certain features. He also manages a directory check, that's why it took so long to start.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning (formerly: what is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?) (Mac OS X)) - http://support.apple.com/HT201262 - "You can use safe mode to help you solve any problems that might keep your Mac to boot completely."

Secure boot takes longer than normal startup - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1884 is no longer available
