Cisco DMP 4305g

Someone can give me some advice as to where I could find some tutorials or frequently asked questions on creating multimedia for these devices. I would find a tutorial or a faq on streaming media and maybe get a glimpse on how that other people create content for their DMP. I would like to know if it is off the coast of a question, Im frustrated about the lack of information to create a rich multimedia experience with these devices.

  • How to create content for my DMP - 4310G

    Hi all

I am very new to my Cisco DMP - 4310g. I'm looking for some quick knowledge about how to get the content created and sent to play on my DMP.

When looking for a player of signage, that I fell on the DMP - 4310g, reading the Cisco's Web site that explains the units looks like what I was looking for, but I was a little confused on how to get this operational thing. I contacted my dealer which I explained then to them that I wanted a player signaling that I could put in my reception area for visitors. I wanted something I could show images of society events, tickers for the news and maybe live TV streaming if possible. My dealer told me it's the unit, I needed. They said that I need the player DMP - 4310G and the DMP-4310-SW52-K9 software license (which allows me to create content?).

Cisco's Web site was not exactly clear on how to create and publish content on these units, but I assumed that the license of the software they sent me was for the designer of digital media software. So, as you can see I'm stuck. I have the player and a software license (at least that is what it says on my packing slip), but how do I access the software Desginer? I can't find anywhere on the Cisco site to get it. How can I create content to display on the player?

Help, please. I'm so confused. I have these two things, but where do I go from here?

    Thank you

    Steve

Sounds like your dealer was not familiar with the solution. You can read the content on the DMP-4310 without the rest of the very, but it's a very manual process. The correct way to use the reader is to add the rest of the solution (Digital Media Manager, sign a license and licenses of DMP functionality). The design tool is part of the Digital Media Manager.

You can also see the arms industry. They write software specifically for the 4310 DMP who will make content creation and management of small deployments as you have.

I'd be happy to help you if you need help.

  • Problem with updating the firmware/kernel of 4305G

    Hi forum,

I searched this forum for similar cases, but can't find an answer.

I have firmware and the kernel update files for the DPM G 4305 (5.2.0_FCS_4305.fwimg & DMPkernel_A2_4305.tivella) and tried all means known to me to upgrade the DMP, but without success.

    We have DMS 5.2. I tried the upgrade through the DMM, / * Style Definitions * / table. MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name : « Table Normal » ; mso-tstyle-rowband-taille : 0 ; mso-tstyle-colband-taille : 0 ; mso-style-noshow:yes ; mso-style-priorité : 99 ; mso-style-qformat:yes ; mso-style-parent : » « ;" mso-rembourrage-alt : 0 cm 5.4pt cm 0 5.4pt ; mso-para-margin : 0 cm ; mso-para-marge-bottom : .0001pt ; mso-pagination : widow-orphelin ; police-taille : 11.0pt ; famille de police : « Calibri », « sans-serif » ; mso-ascii-font-family : Calibri ; mso-ascii-theme-font : minor-latin ; mso-fareast-font-family : « Times New Roman » ; mso-fareast-theme-font : minor-fareast ; mso-hansi-font-family : Calibri ; mso-hansi-theme-font : minor-latin ; mso-bidi-font-family : « Times New Roman » ; mso-bidi-theme-font : minor-bidi ;} DMM - DSM and even with the IIS web server that I found as upgrade on this forum, but still no joy.

To be more specific, try with IIS web server, I downloaded the file in the root folder and used this example below:

(http://10.10.10.2:7777 / set_param? mng.command = start + upgrade + kernel + http://10.10.10.10/DMPkernel_A1_4300.tivella) I've only had a window to enter the username and password of the DMP and then nothing happens.

I double that the DPM has the IP address of the DMM to centralized management, DMM - DSM server time-out set at 300 dry, DPM Web account as well as the user/pass in DMM, DPM Service account same user/pass and also active FTP.

The strange thing is that in DMM, it shows G 4305 such that registered for a while, but after awhile it registers outside, and the status changes to red X. During this brief period, I tired to upgrade the DMP in the Action drop-down list menu, although he did nothing.

I know kernel must be applied first, then the firmware. For the sake of the argument, I improved the 4400 G firmware through the digital multimeter with no problems at all.

    The name of the exact model is: DMP - 4305G - 5.1 - K9

If you need me to download and/or add additional info to this question, don't tell.

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

    Maxim

    OK, I tested a DMP - 4305G here who was 5.0.

I upgraded to first 5.0 to 5.1.  The upgrade was successful.

Then, I upgraded to 5.1 to 5.2.  The upgrade was successful.

You may need to capture a trace of sniffer to see what is

current.  And use the same steps and legends that I use

  • I can't register my DMP4400G for DMM

    Hello

I have a question about the registration of my DMP4400G to my DMM. I have password DPM username as "admin/Default123. I have configured the DMM Servelet address as my DMM server IP address and ' username/password name' as 'admin/Default123. (Same name of user and password is in my DMP)

Then when I discovered in the DMM, I can see the DMP as green (State) for 2-3 minutes and go to the stop State. (Red Cross) Even once when I turned on the DMP same thing happens.

I can see DMPDown message to the DMM display alerts. This DMPDown message comes from the DMP s address in the alerts.

I am attaching the screenshots for this question. Could you please help me to solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Yasanthie

    Yasanthie,

What seems to be the question is the following:

You use a VMware of DMS 5.2 image.

The DMP in the screenshot is currently running firmware DMP 5.1 & 5.0.2.

The DMP '' SHALL '' run the same firmware as DMM.  Therefore, your

DMP must be upgraded to 5.2 DMS

Note: I can not say what model of ASD you run but if they are

Players DMP - 4305G, you will first need to upgrade the firmware of the KERNEL and

    the second DMP firmware.

  • SWL with ActionScript 2 files using

    Hello

Hopfully this will get not too stifling... I have a cisco DMP - 4310g can locally use flash files on the device that I am tring to find out what kind of SWF files can be used. Here is a link to help... Please refer to the part of shockwave http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/digital_media_systems/5_x/5_2/dmd/user/guide/playlis ts.pdf

It is said in the document of the device do not support the 3 ActionScript ActionScript 2 only. Which make me to my next question how I need to create SWF files, this unit can play. I'm not too savy with the creation of the files and the thought that I would ask couse I know too that I know what I need to create them.

    Thanks in advance

The info you mentioned responds to your request... you can only use SWFs that use Actionscript 2.  You can use any version of plu Flash from Flash MX to do.  Prior to this version (inclusive), there was no AS2.

  • DMP 4400 G RS 232 connection with Cisco LCD 100 PRO 40N

    Hello world

I know this question has been asked a little before, but I still have trouble affecting the DMM to control Cisco LCD 100 PRO 40N (Samsung) via the RS232 DMP connection!

I searched and read every post on this forum, ('Samsung_MDC_RS232_Protocol_Ver - 21.pdf' & rs232.tx_hex =) tried but not vain.

We have DMS VmWare demo (signs & Cast 5.2, Show and part 5.2) and 4400G with firmware 5.2.

Also, I connected the series RS232 9 pin female to female that came with the TV on the DPM 4400 G and in the port RS232 TV, configured the DMP in the Task tab view control forward as you can see in the picture to set and define the type of TV for Cisco 40N and Power ON and another task for the display OFF. What I'm doing wrong here!

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

You must first activate rs232 on the DMP.  For Cisco views, use the system task called "RS-232: control supported, non-DMTech poster.  This will cause the DMP restart.  Once it has restarted, you should then be able to use the rs232 codes or the built in display of DMM controls.  I tested on the same Cisco display with cable included as has managed to turn the screen off and back on orders of DMM.

  • Subtitles on G 4305 DMP EtherDVB DVB - T channel

    Hello world

Deakin Uni, we use EtherDVB (www.etherdvb.com) to take the public channels TNT and multicast them via the network.

To view these on our DMP of 4305G Cisco, we essentially have a playlist with the URL in the form udp://multicastipaddress:1234

This generally works well, and we have a minimum of audio/video synchronization problems.

These waterways using something like VLC, we can get the subtitles that go with the channel, but seem not to be able to have to show by the DPM (our firmware varies between 2.x and 5.1 on the DPM).

Our ultimate goal is to have access to the television channel shown on the DMP with subtitles for use in DMP facilities with significant background noise.

My (limited) research shows what may be something to do with the SRT files - IE how subtitles are broadcast with the audio and video streams in the transmission of DTT.

Does anyone have advice on how this can be done?

    All assistance welcomed.

    Kind regards

    Kathy

(kathy reid DOT to deakin DOT edu DOT AU)

    Kathy,

Unfortuately, the DMP does not support flow incorporated for Closed Caption or subtitles

in a stream of multicast at the moment.  If the CC or subtitles were part of mulitcast video

flow then the DMP would be displayed to them.   A possible solution would be to

Cisco SA encoders or other encoders where you can add subtitles or CC to video

stream itself (using a text file or other formats) before transmitting on the DMP.

  • Cisco Media Player will not play my media after Windows 7 upgrade

Last week I upgraded my operating system to Windows Vista Ultimate 64 to Windows 7 Professional.  I own a player DMP-100 which is directly plugged in my G from Linksys WRT54GS wireless router.  My computer is also connected to the router, so this problem is not a wireless issue, but it wouldn't surprise me if it turns out be associated with a.  When Vista was in charge, the DMP-100 router and Cisco Media Player is fine, although I had a devil of a time in the set up.  When I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional, I realized because the BONES were inconsistent that the upgrade would eliminate all applications and I have to reload everything.

When I rebooted Lela and the Cisco Media Player, I have none of the problems that I had with Vista in the configuration.  However for some reason, the program does not play my media files.  There is a default error message coming saying the Cisco Media Server can be turned off.  This is not the case.  More when I select a streaming radio station, the player, the server and software work fine.  I feel, but the server isn't really pointing to my library, the library opens upward in the software.  I unplugged and reset the player several times.  I also deleted and reloaded the server & software media a number of times.  I always get the same results.

I don't like on radio stations.  I just want to be able to play my music and playlists. Anyone facing this problem before, and if so, is there a reason and a solution for this?

(Mod Note: edited post for the respect of the directive.) (Thank you!)

Eureka!  It's the firewall after all.  I thought I had everything checked when I added the AV Media Server and made sure the Cisco Media Player has been activated too.  Once I disabled the firewall and restarted, the press began to play as it should.  If something was definitely not right in the firewall.  It turns out that I was a fool and never saw the 'advanced settings' until I read about it in WIndows help (something I should have done at the beginning).  It was like a slap in the face.  Even if the programs were activated, there is no rule created for TCP and 8015 remote port.  It was clear as soon as I knew where to look.  I created a new outbound rule to allow TCP access port 8015, and the program worked as if it was never a problem.

I want to thank you two people who have helped me through this and patience you while I flinched around this application and operating system.  It was a total exercise in frustration, but also that of the discovery.  I really appreciate your help.  I thank you and my audio system thanks you too!

  • Office of stream PC to DMP via VLC (UDP stream)

    Hi all

We run a DMM Cisco and of some 4400 DMP.

I found THAT VLC is able to create a video stream of a desktop PC and send it via UDP. (We have a few windows applications that we pass on to our screens)

I managed to get this to work from a PC as the streaming server to another PC as the client. (The two VLC running)

So, my next step is to allow the DMP receive this UDP stream. Currently the DMP does is display a white screen when asked to play this content via DMM. (I am adding content in the media library, and then add it to a playlist, which I attribute to the DPM)

I think the problem might be related to one of two things

    1. we do not have the configuration of the network for multicast (although, then why would a work stream from PC to PC, and I do not use a multicast address in VLC)

2 something related to the video of the codec (I'm currently using Encapsulation MPEG-TS, MPEG-2 video codec to 400 kb/s). Who, after going through the seams doco and forums to be a pretty safe bet.

Have no experience with something like this, or ideas for what I'm doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Ian,

This will not work unless and until you have a multicast enabled network. The DMP only supports MPEG2-TS multicast flows.

Activate the multicast, then I would check if your network is correctly activated multicast. You can take traces on the VLC server or mirror port to the switch port - attach a sniffer or take a tcpdump on the DPM himself. Once you confirm that the network is multicast enabled, enter the udp://239.x.x.x: port in the URL of the video of the DMP.

VLC for VLC is not a valid test, VLC supports a phelthora of protocols and can adapt and relief to a different protocol if one doesn't work.

    Thank you

  • DMP all lost connection to the server of DMM

All DMP on our system have suddenly red x and show out of service in the Manager of DMP.  No change in configuration or network took place, they have just stopped working.  I can always connect to the web interface of each DMP and I can ping each DMP from the server, but Digital Signage will not see them.  This has worked very well for many months and all of a sudden stopped.

    I use DMM v 5.2.0 and DMP is all 4400 with v 5.2.3.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Your DMP Digital certificates have expired.  I missed the documentation on this subject, also, and I'm doing all this work back.  You will need to install a patch and upgrade of your DMP.  I think that is the relevant link for you:

I don't know why Umesh from Microsoft Support thought it was possible. You

  • Problem of 4400G DMM and DMP

    Good day everyone,

I have a DMM running version 5.2.1 and DMP 4400 G both run wormhole 5.2.1. Everything worked smoothly until the couple of days, when out of a sudden, the DMM starts seeing the DMP out of service. Physically, the DMP is running and is accessible. In addition, you can see the DMP the DMM itself even when telling them out of service.

I tried to restart the DMM and the DMP and to restart services. Once the digital multimeter is in place after the restart, he begins to discover the DMP as upwards and after like 1 min it shows them that down so I can not publish multimedia content, although the DMP not to ping requests and can be walked.

Does anyone have an idea about this problem.

    Thank you.

This sounds like the expired security certificate.  You can learn more in this notice: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/ts/fn/636/fn63682.html

You probably need to update the firmware on your DMP.  If you have too much, you will may not run the fix, otherwise, I would recommend the fix for the DMM so you can use to schedule the updates for the DMP.

  • How to release/renew the IP address on the DMP

Is there a way to release or renew the IP address of the DMM on a unit deployed to the area? We have assigned a reserved IP address and I don't see any way to do this via the internal settings of the DMP - 4400G. The static value I'm afraid will require a hard reboot to the endpoint. Thank you

    John

Hello, the following comments are NOT officially supported by Cisco TAC but can help in the fulfillment of what you need to do.  The operating system for Cisco for the DMP runs UDHCP.  Says there is a way to "Liberate" the DMP's current IP address.

Method correct procedure to a secondary IP address assignment is either statically configure the IP on the DMP and restart OR configure the DHCP scope to statically assign a specific IP address for the DMP, then restart. Of course, you would do this during a scheduled maintenance period and have someone on site just in case something goes wrong.

Thus, measures to "liberate" the question a DHCP discover on the DPM and IP config is as follows:

Note: If the TAC is not already activated, this will also require a restart to allow root access.

    * The first thing is to allow root access to the DPM.  Access the Admin Web DMP interface. Under the section of the Administration of the Web graphic button, select MANAGEMENT of DMP and "Enable Cisco TAC Troubleshoot Access" and click APPLY.  In the ACCOUNT of SERVICE of DMP section, set the TAC account, password and click on APPLY button.

    * A reboot is required to SAVE the changes above.  Select administration ECONOMY and RESTART of the DMP.  Click on the button SAVE, then RESTART button to restart the DMP.

    * Once the DMP has rebooted, you can check the changes to make sure ROOT access is enabled.

Go and browser HTTP, use the URL https:///show-tech

Search for "Root access" enabled and you should see something like:

    Access enabled root (0 = yes, 1 = No.): 0

    * After 'Root' access is enabled, you can SSH to the DPM as USER 'root '.  Login with the password of account TAC Service you have installed previously.

    * Change to/sbin directory and issue the command "deconfig udhcpc.

    Example of output:

    --------------

    DMP 4400 192.168.1.129 # udhcpc deconfig
