    Hello world

For the life of me, there are two devices in Device Manager that I can't seem to update:

    PCI serial port
    SAS controller

In both devices, this is the last 2 timestamp description which is noted:

    PCI serial port

    1)

    Device PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_1D3D & SUBSYS_1589103C & REV_05\3 & 11583659 & 0 & B3 requires installation.

    2)

    Device PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_1D3D & SUBSYS_1589103C & REV_05\3 & 11583659 & 0 & B3 has been configured.

    Driver name: null

I think it's the guest card Vantec PCIe RAID (UGT-ST644R).  I installed the drivers from Win10... but it does not go away.

    SAS controller

    1)

    Device PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_1D6B & SUBSYS_1589103C & REV_05\4 & a95f37b & 0 & 0088 has been configured.

    2)

    Device PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_1D6B & SUBSYS_1589103C & REV_05\4 & a95f37b & 0 & 0088 requires installation.

I don't know what helps me to do now... Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be fantastic!

    See you soon,.

    Hi, Richard:

The PCI Serial Port device needs this driver...

This package contains version Intel Management Engine Software 11.0 for desktop models and operating systems supported. This package installs the latest drivers Management Engine Interface (MEI) and Serial-Over-LAN (GROUND), as well as the Intel Management and security status (IMSS), to support versions Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) 8.x and 9.x.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp74001-74500/sp74499.exe

Try to install the driver manually if automatic installation method does not work.

Here's a partial copy and paste of the driver installation information file that shows the support of the drivers for the hardware ID you have posted.

The 2nd device is a controller SAS of Intel and needs this driver...

This package contains the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Enterprise (rest) drivers and the graphical user Interface (GUI) for controllers serial ATA (SATA) RAID in the models of desktop taken in charge who run a system of Microsoft Windows supported OS.

  • Minor problem with the New Installation of Windows 7 on my Inspiron E1705/9400 - two entries for "Base system device" under "Other devices" with yellow exclamation point

    Hello

First of all, let me tell you about my system.   It is of a laptop Inspiron E1705/9400 with the Core 2 Duo T7400 processor clocked at 2.16 GHZ.   It has 2 GB of RAM and a hard drive on the Hitachi Travelstar nine 500 GB (7200 RPM).   It also has the GeForce Go 7900 GS video card.    Previously, it had Windows XP Professional (32 bit) and worked well.   But, I have three computers in my home and Home Office and would they work better together on my wired home network, so I'm upgrading all three to Windows 7.   My two desktops (a Dimension XPS 420 and the other Dimension XPS 430) seem like they will be no problem to upgrade to Windows 7.   But, this laptop was not on the list of Dell Windows 7 compatibility.   However, the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor that I have downloaded and run seemed to say that it was OK to do a clean install of Windows 7 32-bit and he had only a few minor issues, where it says search the drivers updated from the manufacturer.   Initially, the laptop came with a 100 GB hard drive.   For my use, which becomes very small, so I decided to get the exact same 7200 RPM drive 500 GB size.   This will allow me to do a clean install of the 32 bit Windows 7 OS on the new hard drive and not have to wipe the old disk to do so.   I can just keep the old HD and paste it back whenever I need to get something out of it.

So, here's my minor problem.   After the transfer of some elements off the coast of the old hard drive, I installed the new 500 GB drive and installed a cleaning of the 32-bit version of Windows 7.    I'm happy to announce that I have not had virtually no problems with installation and everything seems to work fine.   He seems a little more zippy than before and I have not met so far that doesn't seem to work.   I went through most of features and almost everything is superb.   But there is a minor problem, showing in Device Manager.   At least, I think it's a minor problem, but maybe someone can give me feedback to know if she is or not.

In the Device Manager list, there is a category called "other devices" now and the icon shows a little white circle with an exclamation mark.    When you expand this category, you see two identical entries that say "Base system device" and the icon has a yellow circle with an exclamation mark inside.     I know from experience that it is not a good thing to see items in the device manager that have a yellow circle with an exclamation point.   I clicked on both of them and neither one really tells you what the device is, or who did what is site you would go to a driver.    On the general tab, it has the following information:

    -Device type Other devices

    Reference of the manufacturer- Unknown

                         Location     -         Bus PCI 3, device 1, function 3

Under device status, it says the following:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the item or a set of device information

To find a driver for this device, click Update driver.

Each of the entries seem to be almost the same thing... but not exactly.   The other has the location

list PCI Bus 3, device 1, function 2... instead of function 1.   This seems to be the only difference.

I tried the button to update the driver, but that doesn't seem to work.   No matter if you say it looks like your

computer or to look for a new driver from the internet, it does not find anything.     As I said at the beginning,

the system seems to work very well... but, given that I don't know what this device is or does, I might be missing something.

He drives me crazy just have these yellow circles with exclamation point hanging out in my device manager.

I could really use some help here.    Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bryan Ray (Richmond, WILL)

BTW, I just downloaded and installed the driver pack from this ftp location and it worked, even for Windows 8.1 - 64 bit.

    Thanks Steve!

  • HP windows 7 upgraded M7-1015dx 8 windows now missing 1 drivers in other devices.

I recently bought a HP m7-1015dx with windows 7 and high leveled for windows 8. After that cleaning installed, I got notification that wanted me two drivers in other devices in Device Manager. The first pilot, I was able to patch from a link on a blog with this specific missing driver. The second pilot missing under other devices is 'PCI Driver' on 2 Bus PCI. Under properties for this device, it reads "device PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_5229 & SUBSYS_522910EC & REV_01\4 & 37c85ff0 & 0 & 00E1 was configured. I tried to update this specific device for a driver, but no luck any ideas?

The Realtek Card Reader Driver for Windows 8 fixed, thank you.

  • Wireless adapter is missing. Now under 'other devices '.

    Hello

I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell Latitude E6420. My wireless adapter is missing. The only way you can find it is through the device and then Manager, it appears as 'Other devices' - 'Network controller' with a yellow sign - Code 28. I tried to have the driver update system - he finds nothing. I also downloaded newer versions of Intel and Dell - nothing. If I force it to do manually (I would locate etc) then I get a blue screen.
I started the computer off a Linux LiveCD and the wireless adapter works flawlessly.
I ran out of laps. Would appreciate any help on what to do (short of reinstalling Windows, I really want to get to the bottom of it without it).
    Thank you very much.

    Hi JoqngclyE0,

Thanks for your reply. In my case, it's different. If you read my original post, I say that I tried to start up with a Linux LiveCD and it resumed instantly wireless card. It is clear to me that this is a Windows problem.

Please keep in mind that my computer is a Dell, so nothing to do with these HP problems. I'm sure reinstall would fix things, but there is no guarantee that the problem will not happen and I don't want to have to reinstall on the one hand, and on others I like to think I'm rational and I understand why things happen.

No help from anyone, really appreciated.

    Thank you

  • Pavilion dv4-1145go: software for the "other devices" in the Device Manager in a new installation

After having rebuilt the laptop above with the new motherboard and the hard disk, I loaded a new copy of Vista using an ISO Setup disk and my COST. Everything seems perfectly.

But I can't connect to my router, LAN or wireless. Realtek RTL 8101 E NIC driver appears to be installed correctly, but the network controller and several "other devices", for example: device Base system, SM Bus controller, etc need drivers.

My dilemma is that I don't know what (s) to search for.

In addition, while searc hing of HP Web sites, I was not able to locate the drivers available for this model of Pavilion. Just Web sites ask me enter the model number, then display the image of this model and ask again the model number. Pilots locations have changed on the HP Web site?

Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated.

    At any time.

    Glad to be of assistance.

Try the driver wifi directly from Intel.  You want the driver of first or second in service if you're running Vista 32 or 64 bit. Then download and install the first driver on a Web page.  You don't need the software if you let Windows manage wireless connections.

  • How can I build a connection add-hock like windows 7, share my installation of internet laptop computer to other devices?

I need to share my internet to my other devices such as mobile phone and tab, please help me

    Hello

I want to tell you that Windows 8 you cannot perform an Ad - hoc network. However, you can always share an Internet connection with other devices (phone, Tablet, other computers, etc.) using a hosted network (which is similar to the Ad - hoc network).

Please see the article for more information on sharing internet connection with other devices.

Use hosted wireless, network and Internet connection sharing

How can I perform a clean installation of Mac OS x for my iMAC, retina 5K late 2014 with drive of Fusion with the intact Recovery HD partition?

Pure how to install OSX on a Fusion drive and keep the recovery disc function

These instructions assume that your iMAC partitions or file systems has been damaged and you want to restore to the way most efficiency with fusion drive and the recovery partition, similar to what was built in the factory.

These instructions work for the iMAC, retina 5K end 2014 version comes with OSX Yosemite. The scores of major drive of the 128 G SSD and 3 TB of HARD drive has been configured as a logical drive (merger by car).

WARNING: These instructions here are shared for interest only. Readers to take their own risk by following these instructions. The author is not responsible for any damage caused by following these instructions.

This is the target disk partitions, and the configuration that we want to achieve.

Disk0 is the 128 GB SSD - solid state drive and holds the start of the partition (disk0s3)

Disk1 is the 3.0 to HDD - mechanical transmission and holds the Recovery HD partition.

There are two EFI partitions to partition table GUID on both hard drives (disk0s1, disk1s1).

Disk space remaining (partition disk0s2 and disk1s2) are used to create the disc of Fusion 3.1 to named "Macintosh HD".

    / dev/disk0 (internal, physical):

    Fusion unencrypted drive

    Here's how we do it.

    • A. clean reinstallation of Mac OS x.
    • 1. make sure that you back up all your data on the hard drive using Time Machine or other means. The following procedure will delete all data.
    • 2. create the OSX install USB, insert it to the MAC workstation.
    • 3. given that us will be operated on the internal trunk of the reader of the Mac, it must start on OSX install USB (see Y.).
    • 4. in the menu at the top of the screen, select disk utilities.
    • 5. turn highlighted the volume of disk Fusion called "Macintosh HD." Click clear to clean.
    • 6. If his success, then go ahead to install OSX new to that partition, as usual.
    • 7. otherwise, if it does not, that means fusion drive has been damaged.
    • 8 follow the instructions below to fix it.
    • . B. Split disc Fusion in the physical hard disks
    • 1. Since us will be operated on the internal drive of the Mac trunk, assumes that we already have boot up OSX install USB drive (see Y.).
    • 2. in the menu at the top of the screen, select utilities and Terminal.
    • 3. on the screen of the terminal type:
    • Cs diskutil list.
    • You will see something similar to the screen below.
    • 4 copy the long string after Logical Volume and replace the UUID with it in the following command to delete the logical volume of the disc fusion (aka coreStorage of logical volume):
    • diskutil deletevolume cs UUID
    • For example:
    • diskutil deletevolume E59B5A99-F8C1-461A-AE54-6EC11B095161 cs
    • 5 copy the long string after the logical volume group and replace the UUID with it in the following command to remove the drive (aka coreStorage) fusion:
    • diskutil cs remove UUID
    • p. ex. diskutil cs remove E03B3F30-6A1B-4DCD-9E14-5E927BC3F5DC
    • 6. at this stage, the fusion drive has been deleted, and hardsisk SSD and mechanical hard drive will be reappear in diskutil or separate records.
    • 7. If step 5 or 6 takes more than 30 minutes to complete, this means that the fusion drive has been corrupted. You can follow the commands below to clear the table to partition the hard way. First command clears the SSD drive, second command erases the HARD drive.
    • The command does not return a response, after 1 minute, press Ctrl + Z to complete orders. 1 minute is enough data to code and erase the partition table on the disk.
    • cat/etc/random >/dev/disk0
    • cat/etc/random >/dev/disk1
    • . C install a new copy of Mac OS x for the hard drive HDD and tested this disk partition hard recovery work.
    • 1. go on diskutil to create a partition called Macintosh HD HDD hard drive using all the space there.
    • 2 do the same with the mechanical hard drive.
    • 3. follow the usual procedure to boot from the installation of OSX USB and install a new copy of Mac OS x hard disk SSD.
    • 4. This will create the correct priming of the partitions, recovery hard drive partitions and PSX partitions hard disk HDD.
    • 5. once the installation is complete, test if OSX may start successfully, but no need to go through the initial MAC OS x didn't put in place that we're going to waste this and do the installation again later.
    • 6. we must now test if the recovery hard drive partition works.
    • 7. reboot for hard drive recovery (see X - by pressing command and R at the same time during boot right after that you hear sound start and release only a few seconds after you see the apple logo and the progress bar for loading...)
    • 8. it is important to test and make sure that the partition of hard drive recovery.
    • D. recreate the fusion drive
    • 1 since us will be operated on the internal trunk of the reader of the Mac, it must start on OSX install USB (see Y.).
    • 2. in the menu at the top of the screen, select utilities and Terminal.
    • 3
. on the screen of the terminal type:
  • diskutil list.
  • You should find that we have a list of disk group hard physical volume only, no logic here still.
  • 4. you will see something similar to the screen below.
  • 5. search for the largest partition on the SSD hard drive, which should be close to the maximum size of HDD to the SSD (121 G, for example) and mark the name of the device, this will usually be something like/dev/disk0s2
  • 6. search the largest disk partition mechanical forming fusion with the SSD hard drive. This should be close to the maximum size of the mechanical hard drive (for example 3 TB) hard disk and mark the name of the device, this will usually be something like/dev/disk1s2
  • 7
  • . Now let's create the merger in car (group alias logical volume) in the Terminal, type: diskutil cs create nom_lecteur driveIDs
  • The number of the driveIDs is unlimited, it may be a number of discs, or a number of disk partitions. Always put the faster discs first, for example for our SSD disk0s2
  • For example:
  • diskutil cs create fusiondrive disk0s2 disk1s2
  • diskutil - the version of disk utility command line.
cs - This calls for Core Storage, which is necessary for the merger.
create - creates a basic storage group.
nom_lecteur - is the name of the drive and how you want that he
  • appear in the disk utility (not the Finder - that comes later). You can call it what you like; in our example, we named our Fusion table "Fusion".

  • driveIDs - Here is the Player IDs of the readers you want as part of your Fusion table, separated by a space. In our example, they are 'disk0' and 'disk1', but it may be different in your configuration.
  • It is important that the faster hard drive appears first in the command, which in our case the disk0s2 (a partition in the SSD). In this way, drive fusion will use this disk as primary and the cache. The second disc in the command, in this case disk1s2 (a partition on the HARD disk). The secondary disk (HARD drive) is used to store less frequently used files.  Otherwise, the fusion drive performance will be worse that it is designed for.

  • HP Elitebook 8570W: driver problem: other devices - device base system and unknown device.

    Hi guys,.

After doing a clean update on my HP elitebook 8570W I had a few unknown devices in my device manager.

The first is a device called "base system" in PCI Slot 2 (bus PCI 36, device 0, function 1). I tried everything in my ability to determine what is this device and what drivers to install, so far without success.

In the same section. other devices, there is another unknown device on PCI Express Root complex that gives me the same headache.

I hope you guys can help me understand this.

If you need further information, I will be happy to provide that.

    Kind regards

    Didier

    Hello:

The base system device is certainly the JMicron card reader needs the driver, not the alcor one.

    You need this driver...

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=5257503 & swItemId = ob_124666_1 & swEnvOid = 4158

If the driver above does not installing it automatically, try to install manually.

To manually install the driver, go to Device Manager, click the Base system device.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.   Select her browse my computer for driver software option and find the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file.

The file is located in C:\SWSetup\sp63637

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and see the driver installs like that.

  • Network adapters, other devices, display adapters

    Hello

I recently had my HP Pavilion G7 accident on me who took place of windows 8 (OEM), I was unable to restore. I decided to downgrade to windows vista and do a clean install due to the fact that I cannot locate my w8 installation disc. The problem im having is my network, display adapters, and other devices are not working and showing a yellow triangle with an exclamation point and ive done some research and tried fixed like unistalling and reinstalling but it still doesn't work do not.

Here's what is coming with the yellow exclamation points

    network cards

    -acer NIC - 559A pro / 100 + with alert on LAN 2

    Other devices

    -Bus Controller SM

    -Controller universal serial host

    -(usb) universal serial bus controller

    Unknown device-

I feel like if I can get online and get windows to update some of these things will be clear and correct. Now I got problems with realtek PCIe FE Family Controller but I went to found the driver for it.

    Here is some info system:

    system manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard

system model: notebook pc HP pavilion g7

    system type: x 86 (32-bit) pc-based

Processor: AMD A8-4500 M APU WITH RADEOM (TM) HD GRAPHICS, 1900 HMZ 4 CARROTS

I called HP support free as my warranty has increased and they told me it looked like a software problem or corruption and they were confident, they could fix, but they wanted me to pay for technical support which I don't mind, but it would be a monthly service fee which I did not need constant technical support it is the first time ive met this problem they also told me that the tech would have me to enter some commands at the command prompt to resolve this problem. I mentioned this because maybe someone knows what he was talking about.

My name is Ronald any help would be MUCH appreciated.

If I don't answer any suggestions or any help, someone gives me im not ignoring you but I work 12 hours a day, 4 days a week, but I will check at least once a day

    Hi, Ronald:

First install the amd chipset drivers and reboot.  You want the first file on the Web page.

To install the smbus and usb 3 controllers.

    http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows%207%20-%2064

You can then use all the W7 x 64 drivers and software of this model in the g7 on your own, except the wireless.

DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR THE FIRMWARE OF THIS MODEL FILES

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=5275619&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&task=

Try this driver for the wireless card...

    http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3DswItem%253Dob_123191_1&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

The PCI device needs the Realtek card reader driver (under the storage section)

The Ethernet controller needs the Realtek LAN driver (under the section network)

The unknown device needs the driver HP Protectsmart (under section solutions)

  • "unable to connect" iMac to the printer, but other devices peuvent

I have a HP Officejet which was working fine, then all of a sudden not. When I try to print, I get an error "unable to connect to the printer, will try again in 30 seconds." I deleted the printer several times and added in my preferences, so my iMac can see the printer, but when it comes to print to it, is not going to see it.

In addition, I have no problem, print on it to my MacBook Pro, nor fact my wife on her MacBook.

If I type the IP address in a browser on any other device including my iPhone, I can reach HP diagnostics and configuration screen, but my iMac just times out.

Things I've tried: resetting the printer preferences. Deleting all HP prefs in the library. Updated with the latest version of the software of HP for Snow Leopard. Adding the printer using the IP address. Installed the latest driver from HP, Apple.

This is a clean installation of 10.6.5 (same OS other Macs are running. This started happening a few days ago and prompted me to do a clean install, as I had other questions. I thought the clean install might clarify the issue, but the problem persists.

Where did you got your HP software?  Has it labeled as being compatible with 10.6?

Restart your Mac and your router.
