Clear space on OS Windows Server 2008 partition

I am running Windows Server 2008 and my storage becomes very low on my operating system partition and disk cleanup can do.  I'm up to 2 GB and you need to move the files away from him so I can continue to run updates without exhausting my space.

I'm looking to find what files can be moved, and what files can not, does anyone have knowledge on this subject?

Hello

Sorry for the delay in response.

I suggest you post your query in the following TechNet forums to improve assistance in this regard.

  • change an active partition in windows server 2008 r2 makes me can't open a windows session and be invited to the compaq recovery system

    Dear all,

I struggled with this problem for 3 days. I can't connect to windows server 2008 R2 because I accidentally change the active partition of the system partition to another partition whose size is very small (only about 1 GB). When I try to watch through the back, the sequence is all wrong. The previous system partition was becode D c. The other partition which is becoming C f.

I tried to use startrep to fix this, but the problem remains the same.

I also try to use bcdedit /? bootsequence, but because I don't know how to see the partition guid, I can't change the bootsequence.

Can anyone help to open a windows session? Your help is appreciated production. I need it as soon as possible...

I also see that ADAPTEC Serial ATA RAID host uses aarahci.sys as a pilot, I check the driver, it's the most recent driver.
My question is the same as I understand that there is something wrong with the driver, but I don't know what really happened. Maybe the driver is not good, the disc has fault or we do not have enough memory (our server has only 4 GB of RAM and memory load is still > 80%, sometimes it reached 96% and current Page File is 4265 MB)
Can someone help me to point out what exactly happens with the error above?

  • 0xc000000f \Windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe kernel is missing or corrupt - windows server 2008 r2

After restoring the Windows partition boot flag, I got:

    0xc000000f

    \Windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe

    kernel is missing or damaged.

I use Windows Server 2008 R2 installed on 70 GB primary partition & active with appropriate MBR.  It is not the consumer - it is installed on the laptop.  After the repair broken BCD (Windows 7 installation DVD, DVD server doesn't have this tool :() this problem.) I know that this (ntkrnlpa.exe) file does not exist, and it should not. System could not start any mode (even Safe Mode base).

The disc is perhaps the problem because PARAGON Hard Disk Manager 2011 has problems with the editing of this partition but it it sails well (as other tools). The files seems good. Also, CHKDSK has not found no serious problems such as bad sectors - it fixed only tiny problems.

    What should I do?

  • Windows server 2008 r2 outgoing smtp

    Hello

I have a dell t300 running windows server 2008 R2. It is running Hyper-v, also manage a virtual machine running windows server 2008 r2 with exchange 2010 sp1.

Everything was fine, then all of a sudden, over the weekend, outgoing calls to port 25 have stopped working on the virtual machine.  I can use Explorer (port 80) ok but nothing to the port 25 stops - it's as if the firewall blocks but I don't see where.  I try to call port 25 on various other hosts using telnet and it does NOT work

The physical host works very well to port 25, as do all systems on my network, so the problem lies in the implementation of windows server 2008 r2 in the virtual machine somehow.  I have another virtual machine running windows XP on the same host and that is called fine ut using telnet to the virtual network bridge is not the problem either. I'm guessing that the firewall or a corruption of the tcp stack sort

I ' LD be grateful for clues about where to look because email system has continued to send him and it's a major pain.

    Thank you

Hi, Ive answered my own post!  turns out the problem be mcafee that is running on the server. It was blocking the outgoing mail that he had detected an apparent threat. Unfortunately, it didn't say clearly that he had done this.

In any case, the deactivation of this area of mcafee has solved the problem. all I have to do now is to discover the threat!

  • PowerEdge 2600 and Windows Server 2008 R2 installation problem

    Hello.

I have a Dell PowerEdge 2600 server. Here is the configuration:

    BIOS version: A14

    2 x Intel Xeon 2800 MHz 533 MHz, 512 k (SL6VN)

    4 x 1 GB of RAM

    2 x 146 GB (IBM-IC35L146UCDY10-0) in RAID1

    6 x 147 Gb (Fujitsu MAP3147NC) in a RAID5 configuration

Firmware for the PERC 4/Di 2.52D

It has worked well during the installation of Windows Server 2000. But now I need to install Windows Server 2008 R2.

Here's the problem: when I boot server to Windows Server 2008 R2 installation DVD, it starts to load the files and after a few minutes shows an error (I copy the exact error number) who said he's trying to run the 64-bit application, but unfortunately, this processor does not support 64-bit applications.

I was able to find a download for Windows 2008 x 64 on the page Support of Dell PowerEdge 2600. This means that you can install an operating system 64-bit on this PE 2600, is it not?

I know that Windows Server 2008 x 64 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are different operating systems, but 64-bit is always 64 - bit.

Also, I know that Intel Xeon 2800 MHz 533 MHz 512 kb (SL6VN) is a 32-bit processor, but if it was delivered with these processors, and there are downloads for 64-bit operating systems exist, it should be able to install these operating systems.

Please tell us how can I install Windows Server 2008 R2 on the PowerEdge 2600.

    Thanks in advance.

The list 2008 x 64 in the list of OS for the 2600 is clearly a typographical error / support/web content team:

You pay for 2008 x 86 as the latest OS on 2600... or get a newer server (starting with the 8th generation of servers as the PE 2800) to operate 2008R2.

"2008R2 is a 64-bit operating system that is not as forgiving as 2008 x 64 on the execution of threads of 16 bits."

16-bit applications are not supported in 64-bit operating systems:

    Hi Daniel,.

The partition of the hypervisor on the flash flex is only 4 GB as mentioned wdey. The installation of windows 2008 requires a minimum size of 10 GB lun then it would be not enough for this purpose (see windows 2008 requirement below).
