Client installation fails check OS version

I am trying to install client Oracle 10.2.0.4 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit machine and downloaded the client install 10204_vista_w2k8_x64_production_client, which is linked from the download page:
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4.0)
Enterprise/Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows Vista x 64, Windows Server 2008 x 64, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 x 64, Windows 7 x 64.
But when I run it it fails with the message: check the version of the operating system: should be 5.0, 5.1, 5.2 and 6.0. 6.1 membership has no < < < <
I understand 6.1 is the core of R2, but the download is for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 x 64 so it should be good.

Is there another I should use?
I try the client 11g for our 10g database?

You must either ignore the failures of prerequesite in the YES program (via checkboxes), or you can switch - ignoreSysPrereq to setup.exe. 10204 installation has not taken in charge on Win2008R2 when it came out, where the failure.

Note also that 10204 is not yet supported on Win2008R2. 10205 is. To get there however, you must first install 10204 (without taking into account the failure of prereq), and then apply the patch 10205 RDBMS to it.

Yes, you can use the client 11g with your 10g database. 11.2 is compatible with the Win2008R2 and 11.1 is not.

    I'm installing on a 64-bit Windows 7 computer (my laptop is also Win7 64 bit and it installed successfully there).  I tried to install the application and get the error message in the Windows application logs:

    I've already entered my store of % TEMP % and tried to install just the exe file (VMware - UMClient.exe) and who is not, I copied the extracted files, including all the files .ini, .bmp, .msi and .mst to the root of my C drive and tried installing from there.  All this provided the same failure.

    During the installation, I get this message first indicating the location of my vSphere Client installation:

    When I click on the only 'real' installation option, then spend a few seconds and then I get this message:

    Click ok and then get a message saying that the installation has failed.

    I managed to do install finally.

    The strange solution was that I had to log on as an administrator of my machine and then install the plugin.  Even if my account is an administrator account.

    Anyway, problem solved, works perfectly and am clean now.

    I currently own a MacBook (mid-to-late 2010) with the identifier MacBook7, 1 and I want to reinstall 10.6 after a few questions. I got my retail disk, and it says that it cannot be installed on my computer. I check the logs and it says the following (not all that, only the errors, sorry)

    Sometimes the retail drives do not work if they are the same major version than the original installation disc provided with a computer. I just checked, but as the best I could with the information that you provide and it seems that your computer was shipped with 10.6.3 and this is the same version as the retail drives.  Yet, I wonder if there is a specific build characteristic which is absent in the commercial version.  Contact Apple support to get a replacement original disk.

    I just edited the bug to contain more information. It may take some time to reflect it.

    The task status page can present the error above, however, the help > on of interface user page indicating that the system in question is running version 5.4

    You can also view the logs to confirm this.

    Cat/var/log/sf /<5.4_upgrade_directory>main_upgrade_script.log

    The last line should read "success, removed the upgrade lock.

    just uninstall cs5, clean a cleaning use of the CC tool to resolve installation problems. CC, CS3 - CS6 then install.

    Make sure your file is downloaded to your hard drive sizes are expected file sizes.  If you don't know how, ask someone to do it for you.

    We are trying to do a fresh install of Oracle Hyperion EPM 11.1.2.3 on Windows 2008 Server R2.

    Its a standard deployment with a Foundation Server and an Essbase server.

    When you try to install on the server of the Foundation, the EPM System Installer fails to install Oracle database customers.

    The first Question we have is, we have decided using Microsoft SQL Server for the repository of Shared Services and therefore would like to know if it is safe to ignore this error and move on.

    The second question is, if we need the error pending, we want to know why the installation system fails. Looking at the newspaper, ORACLE_HOME is on something that is not valid or is longer than 128 characters.

    I got my answer in the newspaper.

    The ORACLE_HOME_NAME is the question.

    Our deployment account has a hyphen -, and so the Yes program is unable to initialize.

  • Installation fails every time - integrity check

    Try to install 10.1

    Dowload Manager starts... gets at the end of the download, and then after awhile first gives error window that says "Installer failed integrity check" with option to take.

    When I try to resume... it restarts and this time fails with the error 'Installer has failed the verification of integrity (16262.304.371).

    Tried several times - same result.

    It is possible that the error comes from the Download Manager; try to download and run the executable installer from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

  • Xcode Server installation failed (ssl configuration infrastructure)

    After the upgrade to Server 5.2 today, I am unable to start the service of Xcode as a result of a mistake.

    The first time, I tried to implement the service, after having chosen the Xcode application, I was asked to create a service user account Xcode. So, I followed the guests to create a Xcode Server user account.

    Then I saw a message that Xcode Helper should be allowed to make UI script, to which I agreed.

    Finally, a progress bar appears where, apparently, that was under the service of Xcode configuration.

    And then an error stating:

    Xcode Server installation failed (ssl configuration infrastructure)

    Try clicking on choose Xcode and selecting a new version of Xcode or upgrade to a newer version of the server.

    Given that I had just installed the latest version of Xcode previously, I advanced and checked that Xcode launches without problem, and no message appears.

    Then I went to System Preferences > Security & privacy > accessibility and verified that an entry is added for Xcode Helper, and I checked the box next to it to allow access.

    Also, I have advanced and connected to the server of Xcode user account and used the fast user switching option to return to my main account.

    Unfortunately, trying to start again service results in the same error. I even tried to start the service when you are logged on the server of Xcode user account. Whenever it has failed with the same message.

    Whenever I try to start the service, I see this (or very similar) message sequence struck the system log:

    I had a similar problem with the package of added value, so I also removed the previous version first. But after the reboot, I used the freeware CCleaner tool to clean the registry and delete the old keys of VAP. So just download CCleaner and run it, after this restart again and try to install VAP.
