Clip mask texture into several objects?

Hello forumers.

Im trying to clip mask this texture in these suddenly crashes, but it is not anythnig.i know it can be done with objects.but can be done with textures as well?

upload-to-adobe.jpg

What is texture? A layer, a layer of boss?

Are the blocks a layer with transparency, a layer mask, a vector mask, or six different layers?

Could you post a screenshot of the layers panel?

"You can use the layer Style' Pattern Overlay", if the texture is a model.

If it is a layer and the blocks are six different layers you could merge together (command-E) or convert to a smart object and cutting and then hide.

  • Outline of the page clipping mask

    Hello

I'm working with a file that was given to me by someone and I'm unable to navigate the clipping masks - one in particular.

Around the edge of the page is an object which is invisible, but is highlighted with a blue area when I go over it.  It is exactly at the edge of the page.  If I click and drag, all the objects in the file move together, so it seems that it is all a group.  However, the right click menu has release/isolate clipping mask options, so I guess it's a clipping mask.  When I isolate and study objects (literally all other objects in the document) I see that there are to many small clipping masks used to "reframe" the images - I can see clearly how these clipping masks are used.  When I release the large external clipping mask, all of the capture of small masks are released (not what I want!).  When I go to object > clipping mask > Edit content, all objects in the document become selected, as in isolation mode, even if most of the objects don't have/all cut.

So what is this thing for?  I want to be able to work with the objects inside this large group clipping mask (without having to click in the insulation everytime mode), but I can't get rid of it without destroying the small clipping masks, which I want to keep intact.

I've also seen these clipping masks full page when editing pdf outputs R and Matlab.  In these cases I have just release all because all masks clipping in these situations are foreign.  I just mention this to show that the grouping full-page cutting masks seem to be something that is commonly used.  What is the purpose?

    Thanks for the tips!

Use the Panel layer to get rid of him.

  • Can't make a clipping mask?

    Hello: Level: Newbie'ish OS: Win7 64 bit Illy: Cs6

I'm stuck with a few steps in a tutorial

    Here is the link: http://vector.tutsplus.com/tutorials/icon-design/how-to-illustrate-a-stethoscope-icon/

My troubles are at the stage #12

Everything works fine until I get to the part where it says: "copy the Crimson circle and glue it to the front.

... first of all, I think that the copy must cover everything, right? At least it like that picture of the tutorials. Well, it does not cover, and it seems to stay in place.

I look in the layers palette and you can tell that a copy was made and I look under Edit, and he said to the title of the cancellation: Undo Paste in front.

I'm supposed to select the Crimson Circle copy then the mixture and then go to object > clipping mask > make

Rather than run, I get an Error Message that says: "cannot make a clipping mask, The Top selected object must be a path, a compound shape, a text object, or a group of people.

No matter what I do, I can't do a clipping mask in this way.

Someone at - it ideas? I have read a lot about a clipping mask today and looked in the FAQ nothing helps.

I'd be greatly Grealy appreciate all help.

(If you have been affected by the Sandy storm I hope all is well with you, that you are doing better and that you stay warm. God speed.)

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post and for trying to help me.

Copy paste the copied object in front of the selection before and that if there is no selection then forwards (at the top of the stack) in the layer highlighted or the top of the stack in the same layer if the option "Paste remembers Layers" is checked in the menu of the layer of the Panel. The tutorial is unable to say at this stage that you must deselect first object you copied or select the object you want to paste in front of, which in your case is the mixture.

You cannot use an object as a clipping mask, and that's why you are getting the error. When you select a top-level object a regular path as the circle you try to stick to the mixture so the clipping will not work.

  • How to subtract a grunge texture of a layer with several objects?

    Hi all

I've been struggling with this for hours. Would be very grateful for help.

I'm trying to apply a vintage texture to some vector illustrations.

In the screenshot, the work I created is in the layer of "work." I tried to simplify the work as much as possible by using the union, merge, expand, etc. I wanted to do a piece of work, but that seems so simple that I can get it.

When I try to perform a subtraction on the layer 'work' with the layer of 'texture', basically everything disappears.

I suspect that it does not work as expected because the layer of my work is always composed of several objects and not a unified object.

Vintage texture superimposed on the work looks good, but I need this subtraction in vector because I intend to get it printed on a shirt in one color, so I can't get the holes filled with color.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

How can I activate art in a single compound path?

First of all, to unite all paths with the first button in the Pathfinder palette. Then choose object > compound path > make (or press Command-8).

But don't do it this way. Use an opacity mask.

If I use the grunge texture as an opacity mask, do I still to transform the art into a single compound path first or I can do to a layer with several objects as if it were now?

No, you have not; You can keep a complete editibility of your design. You need to just design group firstly, why the opacity mask applies to all this.

Opacity masks are easier to use if you uncheck "Clip" after their creation. Then, all parts of the mask that is black will be transparent; each part that is white will be opaque, and the things which are shades of gray will be partially transparent. Just like in Photoshop. Right now, your grunge texture is white, so you would need to change to black after making your opacity mask.

  • Clipping mask, too complex object, cannot use either bitmap

    Hi all

I'm in Illustrator CS4, trying to make a page that contains the content I want to integrate into a rounded rectangle.  Seems pretty easy.

I managed to paste content into a rounded rectangle, so far.  Now I have a page that is apparently 'too complex '.  There a lot of transparencies and degraded them and others.  Once I try to do the clipping mask tells me it is very complex and cannot print or work right.  I go ahead anyway, and it seems just white/invisible.

Then I thought to plans of work could be a way to do this, but I couldn't see how you could make a work plan which is one shape other than a rectangle (I want a rounded rectangle).

So I thought that if export the bitmap and then rebonding in it, maybe I could integrate the bitmap in the rounded rectangle.  Pain in the butt, but I'm looking for any solution.  But it still works because it says that the selected object must be "a path, a compound shape, a text object or a group of people.  If a bitmap can be used

Someone had better luck with this?  In CorelDraw, I always just placed objects, regardless of the level of complexity, in a 'container' with no problems.  Certainly, there is a way to do the same thing here.  This drawing is not * that * complex.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Sounds to me as if the rounded rectangle you are trying to use as a clipping mask is not the top-level object.

I hope it's as simple as that, even when...

  • How to create an object full of objects without the clipping masks

    Hello!

I wanted to ask that I saw a lot of vectors on fotolia and shutterstock like this

    forums.jpg

It is a typical example. world map with diamond. As you can see that there is no clipping mask, but all objects are in the perfect location. It is any script or any plugin or a tip or some way to easily create for these works.

Thanks for any help in advance.

    You need the world map

Then object > mosaic to create objects.

    Ungroup

    Remove all the white squares

Their color randomly (there are scripts to achieve this on Wundes.com)

Then object > transform > transform each: rotate 45 °

Once again object > transform > transform each: scale and select a "random".

Select some of them and change fill and stroke

Select them all and reduce the opacity

  • Objects of the library in Illustrator CC 2015 NOT clipping masks?

The functionality of dynamic links in Illustrator CC 2015 library is cool. However, our internal wired kit includes a number of model objects that are used at best when they can be dragged and edited as a specific instance. The process was EASY on the iteration of 2014. Unfortunately, now, all the objects are nested inside the clipping masks, requiring at least 4 distinct steps to clean before they can be customized.

Is this a bug? Can it be fixed?

    Thank you!

Try to use the Opt (Alt) key when you drag.

  • Failed to create a mask for clipping on 3 separate text objects

    Hi all

I created a custom, text so that each letter in my 3 letter word is a separate compound object.

Now, I did a full ellipse (with gradient) and a rectangle behind text to create a clipping with all text objects 3 mask. (see image1)

However, when I select all the objects and select: object > clipping mask > make, they do hide the letter, which is the one on top. (see image 2)

However, when I combine the 3 letters, it does not create a clipping mask at all, it shows nothing... (see picture 3)

How can I ake all the 3 letters be in the mask?

  • can't Stroke object after a clipping mask? CS6

Hello: Level: Beginner OS: Windows 7 64 bit Ps: CS6

I have problems with a tutorial.

He said to... Create a new layer and place it above the layer of "main object" (which has a clipping mask) and applies also the clipping mask

Then I'm to Ctrl + click on the main object to select then right-click for menu, choose STROKE.

However, when I right click on the new layer in the clipping mask the Stroke option is unavailable ~ is not when I click on the object itself on the

    canvas.

So, I went in Edition > contour and tried to apply to the race in this way, but the race is not visible.

I also tried to go to blending Options to apply the stroke, but it is not visible in this way or the other.

I tried to search the manual for an answer and the FAQ but I can't seem to identify things.

You made sure that location in the dialogue of the race is "inside"?

Because the layer is cut to the shape, the stroke must be within the form to be visible. 'Centre' will result in half outside of the width of the contour are invisible, and "Outside" will result in the entire race being invisible.

  • When I do a clipping mask the object must be empty

So when I make a clipping mask, my objects/figures before all take "zero" filling the picture goes away and I'm left with nothing

How can I fix this or what I am doing wrong?

    (work in CS5)

    Your explanation is very good.

You want to keep your type of live (editable)? If so, select the type and the triangle, then option-click on the pathfinder all United in the pathfinder Panel. What makes a compound shape. Now place this form in front of you want the clip, select compound shape and art, press command-7.

If it is not necessary to maintain the editability of the type, describe the type and listen to Steve.

The two objects is suddenly off and I do not see the fill / no STROKE of the icons. If this does not happen then There nature and all just say "cannot make a clipping mask.

This has been bothering me for a few days now.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Herms-ra.

You can do so quite different or similar with masks of Cliping, without or with background color purple/note/smoke.

Note: There was an error in the first proposal in post #18: in step 5) you must select C) (purple/note/smoke color background to cut of the) instead of d) (the underlying texture of parties drops black), sorry, I just spotted it.

You can (reusing a part of the first proposal):

    (1) return to, or start from scratch, with the following basic elements (starting with this stacking order):

    (A) the compound path, forming the dripping inner circle party black (in A).

    (B) the compound path, forming the external parties dripping with black,

    (C) the color purple/note/smoke to cut background

    (D) the underlying texture parts of gout black,.

    (E) the underlying texture of letter parts internal;

    Select 2) A) and B) and copy both to the top of the stacking order, then release both Compound paths and remove the inner path from A) and the external path of B), then turn them into a new compound path, consisting of forms of internal letters (you can use Pathfinder > less first plan or object > compound path > make);

    (((3) E move) (the underlying texture of parts internal letter) up just below the new path composed of 2), select both and opposition > clipping mask > make, and then to hide;

    (Select 4 (A) (composite route forming the dripping inner circle in black (A)) and b the compound path forming the outer circle dripping parts black) and object > compound path > make;

((5) select the combination of 4) and D) (the underlying texture of parties drops black) and object > clipping mask > make.

    (Show 6) 3).

    (C) the note/violet/smoky colored backgroun, if keep you it, or any other background will be visible everywhere where it is not covered.

  • Discecting an image using clipping masks

    Hello

I created a vector object in rhino, I would use as a clipping mask to divide an image jpg in a lot of different parts, I don't want to block any part of the image only to divide it into several different sections that can each be manipulated individually, almost as if it was a giant of cut. I've read tutorials on using the tool of clipping with groups rather mask that to one of the objects, but whatever I do simply removes the part of the image I'm working the rest fair alone and not cut leaves. I'm pretty new to Illustrator then... uh, help.

    Thank you very much

    Me

I do not know. You have not provided enough information. I have no idea of what size your raster image does not scale or size of the file. I don't know where you're going with this. Web site? Print? Flash? You'll just have to try and see.

In any case, before you start, store the image embedded as a symbol and use Instances of symbols on the page. Symbols are stored in the file document only once. See the online help. But there may be other issues related to the size/space according to the specifications.

    Steven Houtzager

    Steven,

In addition to what Monika said, with a clipping mask, you must first select all of the objects and the object > Compound Path do.

If they overlap each other, you may need a few more to operate properly; in this case, you can use the alternative of an opacity mask: select all objects turning white or black if not already, then Ctrl / Cmd + G to group them, and then in the transparency palette dialog box click the opacity with ticked Clip mask and mask invert checked (if they are black) or unchecked (if they are white).
