Closing monitor

Hello, I have a Toshiba satellite windows 7 widescreen laptop. If I need to provide more information as I can, but I'm afraid to go back because the screen looks off after I put the computer or move. The computer seems to be always 'on', but the screen turns off at the point where I have to restart and provide my password to access the Web sites. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

Looks like the system ACPI drivers I have stripped some how. I had this happen myself.

I would go on PC manufacturers website and download the latest drivers from system/ACPI for a specific computer and install them. If your PC is customized, you will need to get the drivers from the manufacturer of the motherboard.

Which 'should' you get. Please let us know if it works.

  • How to usb + (kb + mouse) AUTO ACTIVATE when the computer reboots, lid closed, monitor attached?

Can someone help me get this automated. I have a screen on my laptop, attached to the videoadapter. And a keyboard without wire-mouseset tied to a stick into the usb port. My laptop screendriver is defined to be monitored as one and only screen. So far so good. When I put my laptop asleep I can easily start with the wless-Ko by a movement of the mouse or any key. But I have to unrafle the laptop under my monitor when he meets a reboot, by countless updates automated Microsoft systemware or virusdata or, more often, my fault: loss of network. There is a shot of my original touchepath/KB only and insert-detachment of the usb link. I know it's a little cosmetic but when you see me handle these things you will agree its quite useful to have a workaround solution. Thanks for your help.

    Hello

You can disable the USB selective suspend for USB devices feature and check if this solves the problem.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you change the
Register incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then, you can
restore the registry if a problem occurs.

For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following link:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/back-up-the-registry

To disable the selective suspend feature, follow these steps:
    a. click on start and then use the search box.
    b. type regeditand then click OK. The Registry Editor opens.
    c. look for, and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\USB
    d. If the DisableSelectiveSuspend registry entry is present, double-click it. If it is not present, create the entry. To create the entry, follow these steps:
    e. on the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD.
    f. type DisableSelectiveSuspend , and then press ENTER.
    g. in the Edit menu, click on change.
    h. in the value data field, type 1 to disable the selective suspend feature, and then click OK.

  • HP w1907v monitor suddenly becomes yellow

    Hi all!

I tried to search if everyone has this problem, but I have not found anything.

My monitor HP w1907v since two days changed to white to yellow.

O.S.: Windows XP Pro & Ubuntu [in the two system white color turned yellow].

I have checked the cable [ok], checked the drivers to both monitor and video card [ATI CATALYST] [ok].

I tried to adjust the colors Blue, green and red, but it seems that the blue is not editable, or at least I did not notice a difference in the blue color of the setting screen.

Obviously, the monitor is out of warranty!

Any suggestion to get the color white?

Is the closed monitor until the end of his 'life': I bought it in 2007.

Thank you very much in advance for a friendly answer/solution!

    Hello again,

one of my friends bought me a new cable and now the monitor works well again.

    Thanks again for your attention

  • XPS 13 - Wake from sleep using USB works, but not when lid closed?

I mainly use my XPS 13 as a desktop replacement - I have the lid closed; monitor and a keyboard, a mouse connected (both wireless).

I finally managed to get to wake up from its sleep by moving the mouse by activating 'allow this device to wake the computer from sleep mode' in the device (Win 7 64 bit) Manager, but it does nothing when the lid is closed, which is 99% of the time because I am using a monitor. I have to open the lid and use the power button.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get this working, or not at all?

It works fine on my other laptop Dell I bought at the same time (Inspiron 15). One is connected to a TV as a "Media Server", if the lid is also closed all the time, but he wakes up from his sleep when I move the mouse USB wireless.

    OK, it's now solved!

The A08 BIOS update allows this, BUT the strange thing is that sometimes the option ' USB wake sleep ' is not available after a BIOS flash.

This time, it was and now I can wake up the laptop from sleep, even with the mouse Wireless USB via a hub!

    Yay!

  • My screen text flashes no buttons work and touch screen has no answer. Never seen that before?

The screen of my text is STUCK in flicker. No buttons or touch screen responds so iPhone 6 more does not stop. Just continues flickering. If anyone has experienced this before? Thoughts?

    Hello johnnyappleseed59,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I understand that your iPhone screen is stuck and flickering and the touchscreen is unresponsive. I rely on my iPhone every day, so I know how much it is important that we get this problem is solved. I have a couple of things I want you to try.

First, use restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and try to force restart your iPhone, in particular, this section:

    How to force reboot

You must force restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch as a last resort, and that if it does not. To force the reboot your device, press and hold the two buttons of sleep/wake and home for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

After that, I would closely monitor the situation and see if you continue to get the same flicker on your screen.

I would also recommend trying to make a current backup of important data from your iPhone. This article will help you:

The backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

    Best regards.

  • HP DesignJet 500

My 500 was printing very well.

I need to change the paper and while doing so, I received a "System error 21:10" "call HP Service"

THE PRINTER IS NOW "LOCKED" AND NOT RESPOND TO ANY INPUT COMMANDS TO THE KEYBOARD LOCAL PRINTERS.

This error is usually due to an obstacle (such as torn paper piece) inside the gas station (where the transport is parked during printing).  Open the front window and closely monitor movements of wiper gas station, remove obstacle, as appropriate (it takes a little experience of service and attention).

If the error is due to the failure of the hardware, the device may need service.

  • NAC - client check machine is on the field or running soe?

I was wondering if there is a way to verify the customer is on an SOE (standard operating environment) and/or the computer is in the domain?

Basically have a requirement that only SOE machines are allowed to connect. At the time where the user auth works and certain standard check as BC. That still works well if they bring their own machine at home and use identification information of the AD on this machine instead, which is what tries to avoid.

At the moment I only came with a check that is customized to the domain value in the registry

    HKLM\System\currentcontrolset\services\tcpip\parameters\domain = abc.com

I guess that may be forged by anybody, high heat, where authentication/machine cant domain members. Is there a better way to do it? searched a bit and found nothing.

We have a policy similar to a staff teacher at the University, I work for. We do something similar but some touches of environment HKCU\Volatile, but this is combined with ONLY the AV version that we push to the Centre for our customers and a few additional software that we deploy via logon scripts. Seen AV rule only check for specific versions of McAfee our attracts most personal computers but the registry key check to catch a few others who have the same version.

Your best options here (IMHO) observe the things looking closely monitored so that people really have to make efforts, knowing what they have to change to be complaint. Of course you will see they tip over and over if they do this to check their work so stay tuned for that too

  • 1Z0-402

    Hi all

I want to study the OEL certification.
I knew the exam 1Z0-402 is validated by Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) report Version 4.

I am always working on OEL Version 5.x
As this review covers the basics of Linux administration: I guess that the student on 5.x is not a problem?
This is also true for the next Enterprise Linux System Administration 1Z0-403 review?
Anyone know if these reviews will be upgraded to version 5 of OEL?

    Thanks for your replies.

From memory, this review is more oriented to the 'user' commands and topics can probably be actually studied on OEL 4 or 5 OEL or linux most / versions of unix. The pass mark is not too high, so the occasional error can be tolerated.

This is also true for the next Enterprise Linux System Administration 1Z0-403 review?

If you check the headings for this I think that you will see a lot more on the side admin unix. There are a few changes between 4 OEL and OEL 5 so must be closely monitored topics.

If in doubt, I would recommend OEL 4 install as a virtual machine with virtualbox of sun or anything that brings you to the fantasy.

Anyone know if these reviews will be upgraded to version 5 of OEL?

I do not know this. Maybe a little longer, they will wait for 6 OEL. As there must be a RHEL 6 I would expect a 6 OEL.

    Thanks for your replies.

  • CFQUERYPARAM - it can work without raising an error?

I use CFQUERYPARAM with great success on demand; My problem is that all application errors are sent to a queue that is closely monitored by a supervisor. So, unless I put a try/catch around every single query, I get an email as soon as an attempt to hack or incorrect variable is passed in a URL string to any page on the site. We use the cferror tag (< cferror type = "EXCEPTION"...) to intercept errors thrown by ColdFusion. Suggestions, how can I make the CFQUERYPARAM not thrown or ignored by CFERROR mismatches?

  • I closed FF in my 2nd monitor, now it opens only, why?

I moved from the 2nd monitor into the primary and closed it there. I've deleted ALL the cookies/history, I erased the Sessions. Nothing seems to make open upward in one monitor. This happened once before and I didn't fly over to the correct monitor and shut up and it worked fine. This time, I can't do what he's supposed to do. I really want to open on the monitor one because I don't always have it and it's really annoying when it opens here and I think I'm always waiting for him.

It is quite common that the programs Windows remember the location of the last closed window. Can you drag to the monitor 1 and shut up there next time? I see that did not work.

Otherwise, you can rename or delete the file that stores these positioning information. Unfortunately, that will also clear your toolbar customizations. Here's how:

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using

Help > troubleshooting information > "view file" button.

Switch back to Firefox and output

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename localstore.rdf to something like localstore.old

Restart Firefox. Toolbars and the position of the window must be restored to the default.

(Theoretically, it is possible to edit localstore.rdf if you want to try that first, but the format seems not well documented).

  • MacBook 2012 w / external monitor - cooler open or closed?

    Hello

A very simple question; I'm looking for some advice on my rapidly aging Macbook Pro.

I am running 10.11.3 on a 13 inch, mid 2012 Macbook Pro. 2.9 i7 GHz, 16 GB RAM, SSD, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 mb.

I connected it to a monitor 27 "beautiful for the majority of my marketing job (which involves Photoshop and other intense applications).

He gets mental hot and the temperature shows he hit 102 + regularly.

It would be cooler if I closed the lid and JUST used the 27 "monitor?

Note: I have it on a relief stand still.

    See you soon.

Your computer is a little newer than the MBP, I've owned, but it isn't that much of a difference - I used a program called iStat and found that the computer has a few degrees warmer when I closed the lid, but I doubt that the difference is enough to matter. Apple would not offer a mode valve if it wasn't safe. This 2009 MBP is still used so obviously mode upper block was not terribly bad for her.

  • Refresh rate of the external monitor (closed macbook) reset

    Hello

Im very new to OS X, I have a macbook air 13 "that I have it plugged into my external monitor acer, when he was in closed mode (clamshell) I changed frequency by accident and now I can't change this back as the ' entry is not displayed. How can I change the refresh rate of the external monitor when the settings show only if the macbook is closed? As I said, I'm new so I am not very confident through many parameters, any help is appreciated.

If you have previously enabled "Screen sharing" Preferences-> sharing system then you can use another Mac to control this Mac and change it to one that works remotely.

You could 'open' the Mac to use its built-in screen and then be able to change the settings of the external monitor.

You can try to reset the setting by following the steps listed here Re: how to restore the display settings
