codec problem

I'm doing a movie, but I get the following error:

The file c:\users\emily\pictures\2011-04-11\100_0926.MOV cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to re-import the file.

cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to re-import the file.

Codec is the abbreviation of compression and decompression of that particular video file.

I recommend one of the K-Lite codec packages available here to download and install. The regular package should be enough, but you can opt for the full package.

Once you have downloaded the package on your computer, you can right-click on the installation. EXE and run as administrator to avoid any problems with the installation.

    Hello Jorstar1,

Thank you for your message.  Windows Media Player 11 supports .avi, but compression can dictate whether he will play or not.  This is very probably a Codec issue, you can perform a websearch for a Codec that will play any avi compression.

You know quite well by asking or by downloading a local copy and these hosting or those who created the video by checking with something like gspot.

Or - you could give a link to the video and someone could check.

  • Mastering questions 5.1 (it is not a codec problem)

    Hello

I have some major issues to master sound for my first student production in Premiere Pro CS4 5.1.

This isn't a question of RTFM. It is also not a codec problem. My problem is that in hardware parameters Audio my audio device is listed to have output only 2.0, and only two channels is available in the Audio output mapping.

    Asio2.JPG

At the same time I have no problem with bed sound 5.1 and 7.1 from other applications (Windows Media Player, QuickTime, VLC, various games)

I understand that maybe that's a problem with a driver for the Realtek onboard Audio. It is also my understanding that I need to buy a new sound card that supports full 5.1 ASIO.

Please advise on what is best for. Please check in this dialog box or the dialog box match the Audio output of the preferences panel, you have in fact 5.1 or more channels of output. I thank you very much in advance.

Fantastic! I can't tell you the number of people who helped this little free .dll.

ASIO is a little science, a little and a lot of luck art. This is not only a question of Adobe. Many DAW studio-level apps. have the same problems.

At the end of the day, it's the things to work and work well, as well as get the projects at the door.

Now, if you have any questions to other programs, using Audio ASIO, just go to their preferences and set things up for ASIO4ALL.

I'm so happy it helped you, as it has helped me and many others.

    Good luck

When you play, my system hangs.  I got an error that says I have to disable my cyberlink demultiplexer codec, because it was causing problems.  How can I do this?

    Hi PatriciaLee,

You can uninstall the codec (CLDemuxer.ax) to add or remove programs.

You must have an administrator account to uninstall a program.

  • Vista video codecs problems

I was directed here to ask this question, by admin.
«After that 18 months using Ubuntu, and then buy scammed to ot try a second Windows 7 license my laptop has its origin back to Vista Home Premium.»  It is a recovery disc, it is a Toshiba Equium L40.
After the luxury of Windows 7 and Ubuntu, I'm running many codecs, it seems.  Media Player will not play some files converted avi (my Flip camcorder mp4 files converted) even if it's a Windows thing.  also, when I look in the tabs of the properties of a video file, a flow which should be in the area of 10 000 to 20 000 kbit/s in general, said a tenth of that, where the same file looked in Windows 7 on my desktop pc (genuine license and original media bought from Comet in the United Kingdom) the flow is correct.  I have installed Vista service packs and updates.
Can I fix this easily?  I think I remember try a third-party codec pack once before this resolves things, and I'm also suspicious of the resources these things about viruses etc..  At Microsoft itself corrected this with a trustworthy codec pack perhaps?
    Thank you. »

  • File/Codec problem

    Hey guys,.

I have the first Elements 8. I have been using this program for about 8 months with no problems. All my files and videos are stored on an external hard drive. I went to capture a few images there about 2 weeks and had no problem with the files. However, now, when I open a project, he asked where are the files is (as if they are not on the program) and when I select the file from my hard drive, then try to open it in the elements, it says "no file type supported or the required codec is not installed. It comes on every file (video, photo, audio) that I have on this program. I can't open anything at all. Any help! ???

My workflow is to create a folder 'root' for each project (perhaps under the folder root of a client). Then, I create my subfolders under the root folder. It's: videos, photos, Audio, SFX, music, titles (if I create those PS), etc. Then I copy my goods in the appropriate subfolders. My project of ger is then created (new project) in the project root folder, and I find my discs from scratch too, with 'Same as project' in Edit > Preferences.

Everything is now contained in this project, and I have everything I need. Should I find I need assets, I just copy in the appropriate subfolder.

My folder structure looks like this:

    Name of the project

    Videos

    Still images

    SFX

    Music

    Audio

    Titles

    Various Scratch disk files

This prevents all aspects of the project on site and in an orderly manner. It also pays dividends, when it comes time to delete this project, because simply remove the root of the project folder, and everything away with it. Remember, I work with Copies of my property, and the originals are stored safely elsewhere.

As mentioned, the Desktop folder is a special folder, which displays its contents on the desktop. I never use for anything other than my shortcuts. PrE has problems, because of the special nature of the desktop folder, if one is export/shares to she, or links to an asset for her. This isn't always the case, but it happens quite often that I use as expected and keep this clean folder. If one, say place one installer in this case, I would like to clean that, when installation is complete.

Good luck and we hope this helps,

    Hunt

  • First Pro CS5 codec problem

Hey all.  That is the problem.  At work, I use Premiere CS3 on an old box of Edius who has the codecs of Canopus.  When I archive a final copy, I use a DVCPRO HD codec, specifically the Canopus SD50/DVHD codec, for an AVI file.

At home, I have a new copy of CS5 on a new machine.  I brought some of these AVI files to work using the codec Canopus SD50/DVHD.  I couldn't open them at home on almost anything.  I went and found the codec and installed.  Now I can open files with Media Player without problem, but I can't import into first, After Effects, or Adobe Media Encoder.  The result is not video and audio.

Any suggestions that do not include the re-export while using a different codec?

    Thank you!

VirtualDub would do it. It has a mode of batch and after that you have the two codecs installed, let the process you into one another.

  • All of a sudden offline, Media codec problem?

    premiere.jpg

3 AVI files have suddenly offline after I've updated for CS4 CS5

I'm unable to find a solution to this me, someone out there who can help me?

    Thank you. < 3

If you are dealing with files that are showing up with only audio and no video, you can have similar to the one I had when CS4 CS5 moving questioned. Somehow CS5 don't read things properly and cannot find all the info in the file. My specific scenario has been with the RED files in a .mov wrapper, but I've seen it happen with other codecs wrapped .mov. Never seen this happen with a .avi wrapper, but there's a first time for everything, I suppose. Try this solution, given by Colin Brougham last fall when I had a similar problem. Fixed-mine perfectly.

    And here's the fix:

    1. Download MPEG Streamclipand unzip it - no installation required. The latest beta version is fine.
    2. Open one of the files broken in MPEG Streamclip.
    3. Select file > save as and select a new location to save. You probably want to keep the same as the original file name (this is the default).
    4. Click OK.
    5. Profit!

All the details of my problem and possible correction of Colin can be found here.

  • Sony Handycam movie player Codec problem

Please help me - I am trying to download my Sony handycam to movie maker but repeat me this for the video (but pictures download very well!)

"The file E:\MP_ROOT\101PNV01\M2U00005. MPG cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker and then try again to import the file again. »

I tried to download the encoder but it does not recognize the files at all! #

I'm completely blocked - any help is received with gratitude!

    Hello Christina,

Believe it or not.  Windows Movie Maker does not support the format .mpeg video.  You will need to do a web search for a converter that converts the .mpeg to a different file type.  IE .wmv .avi etc.

I would recommend going to www.download.com and typing free mpeg converter in the search list.  It is a good secure site.

  • SOUL - CamStudio Lossless codec codec problem

    Hello

I use CamStudio to record my work for centuries using the lossless codec and then original downgrage perfect for necessary formats via SOUL CS3. This version seems to understand that there are other codecs installed on my system. But with versions more soul: CS4 and CS5, Adobe "upgraded" product so it no longer sees the codecs. What was it for? It really drives me crazy because I have tons of material that I can't encode more. If there is at least a way to get the good old SOUL CS3.

Is it possible to make SOUL see installed codecs?

    Thank you

If you're using CS5 or later, you must install the 64-bit versions of your codecs.

  • Codec DivX 6.8.5 (4 logical processors) problem. Need help!

    Hi Yangtze,

For the codec problem - I would recommend test avi different filters and see which works best.  To see what filters you have available on your computer, use the GetAVIFilterNames and this will fill a list for you.  From there, you can test to see which gives you the desired playback performance and compression.

For the problem of Eve - in your VI, call an AVI fence and fence IMAQdx?   It sounds like you might not close all your references, and if you leave them open, even closing LabVIEW is not guaranteed that this.   Tryadding to your program.

  • Transfer video files from my JVC Everio camcorder problems

I am trying to transfer video files from my JVC Everio camcorder to my computer to play on windows media player - windows XP, but receive an error code: C00D11D1 say there are problems with my sound or images, but there is no update for windows media player?

It is a generic code and a lot of different solutions.

To help you, can you confirm that this is the sequence of events:

    * you transfer the video files to your PC
    * then you try to open them in WMP
    * gives the error message celebrates

You may well have a codec problem, that can be solved in 2 ways:

    * Download and use Gspot (Google for it). Drag the file in question on the small window which is Gspot and it will tell you what are the different audio and video codecs. Serach the web and download the forms.

    * Download and install a Cedec such as K-Lite package.

Above is the data from the BSOD error

When I use Media Player Classic, you use the K-lite Codec pack, and I'm trying to access the menus that have something to do with resizing or changing the proportions, the screen whites out and I get:

This bubble of the error. Usually the white screen outside for a while before that happens. Once this happens several times, sometimes windows will be blocked with a BSOD as described in the opening of the post office.

I tried to download the latest drivers and the catalyst but Panel that did not work.
I updated Media Player Classic and K-lite Codec pack, thinking it was a codec problem, but it did not help the cause.

even when you watch in full screen youtube videos, sometimes it will generate this error even.

    Hello Nathan,

Thank you for posting.  I have additional information for you.  I saw that you use k - lite codec pack.  I had problems using this codec pack in the past.  I would propose a different codec pack made with Vista in mind.  You can do a search for 'Vista Codecs' or 'Vista Codecs Pack' and judge people.   You can also check for a newer version of the software and the drivers you are using.

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
