Color print from my hp printer deskjet 5550 after installing a new iMac computer

I try to print in color from my printer hp deskjet 5550 after installing a new iMac computer.  Do I need a printer driver for Mac, and where can I find the printer driver?  Operating system is OS X Lion mountain.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello

The HP Deskjet 5550 is not compatible with Mountain Lion and, therefore, the question appears:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01856359

Try the 3rd party HPIJS print drivers that seems to support your printer. don't forget to install one of the 3 downloads required below:

http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/OpenPrinting/macosxhpijs#Downloads_Required

Now add the printer in Print & Scan by clicking on the menu drop-down use, and then click Select printer software.

Select the driver HP Deskjet 5550 HPIJS in the list and add the printer.

We have recently installed a new Netgear modem/router and have not been able to print wireless since installation. I tried everything I could find on the forum and still no luck. Any help will be appreciated.

Replacement/change your wireless router, try here.

    http://www.HP.com/global/au/en/wireless/reconfiguring-system-Help3.html

Make sure that your router is set to a fixed channel wireless as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto '.  Try each of the channels one at a time.  Make sure they are spaced at least 5 feet.

However, if you have a gateway device (modem + router), all gateway devices are terrible for connectivity and wireless performance.   If this does not work, suggest you put this bridge in full bridge mode device and install your own router of high quality that YOU have full control over.

I try to install my deskjet 2060 to my new laptop, but did not find the software to install.

    Hi @ziyen,
You have also installed the HP scanning software, when you have installed the printer software and driver.

If you are having problems with the HP scanning software running, let me know what you get the error.

As an alternative, there are two applications available on Windows Store, called windows scanning and scanning HP and Capture that allows you to scan.

1 search Windows to Scan, and then click the scanning application () in the list of results.
2 HP Scan and Capture - this doc should help http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04675206

  • HP LaserJet P2035n: HP 2035n ceases to printing/answer after installing the new toner

Hi, I work for a School District, we have several of these printers and recently had this problem on 2 machines. Problem is that the printer is completely insensitive after installing a new toner real HP 05a.

Install toner turn printer on, it passes through the light initialization sequence and shows ready, will not print a test page for the PC, will not print a page of the control panel of the printer configuration, will not be recognized through its USB connection (PC gives same message the USB is damaged or defective), does not pick up an IP address and is not accessible via the Web console.

Turn the printer off and reinstall the old toner put under tension and everything works again, USB is recognized and system installs the drivers, accessible via the Web console, prints the config to the PC and the control panel of the printer. I have 3 used toners and all three will work with both printers, I have 2 new toners and the two do not work in the printer. Thanks for playing.

I saw a few client computers and forums on other sites about this issue defective chips on the cartridges-back them and replacements should be good.

You don't have the same problem/question.

Am trying to re - install Acrobat 9 Pro (includes the Distiller) after installing a new hard drive. iMac 27 "2009, ElCapitan 11.11.6. I have the original dmg file. have also tried copying from back up. Same thing is happening anyway. It seems to load correctly. When open it asks my password but not to its own serial number. It is open, but don't watch not at the full bar at the top, that the word Acrobat, and it does nothing? Worked very well before the old drive crashing. On the same operating system?

Not compatible does not mean that it cannot work (even if sometimes this does not mean that). This means that it has never been tested and not be fixed; This often means people have seen strange and unpredictable issues.

Acrobat makes changes to the system, it is always more vulnerable. DC Acribat is the current version. If the goal is to slow down completely, perhaps more profitable subscription activity.

  • 64-bit driver for printer deskjet 5550

When you try to upgrade to win 10 of win 7 I found this 10 victory did not support the driver 64 bits (deskjet 5550. When I tried to come back to win 7 64-bit driver was absent. I have been all over the site of HP and others to find a 64 bit driver with no luck. Can someone help me with this problem...

Go there, this post was for days and no one can tell me where I can get a simple driver? It's the Microsoft Community we rely on you, a member of this community knows where he is. I done all the easy stuff. (ie) HP and others I know that this driver is out there somewhere, come on give me a little help

1 is not using HP printer install wizard for Windows ? - http://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Deskjet-5500-Printer-series/71895/model/71897 if you think it installs a 32-bit driver if that's all that's available, but that shouldn't be the end of the world.

2 you can download a 64-bit driver from Microsoft update instead of this catalogue.

2.1 connect to an administrator account first [must]

    2.2 open IE [there]

    2.3, go to http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=hp%20deskjet%205550%20

2.4 organize results in chronological order by clicking on the header.  This makes it just easier to see what is happening.

2.5, click the names of the drivers [in blue] and in the details, they show you'll see if 32 or 64 bits.  The one you want is the last item in the list-

Series of HP - printers - hp deskjet 5550 (HPA) Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and later drivers Drivers (printers) 01/05/2007 6.0.6000.55555 5.1 MB

2.6 click on Add to cart and then you can download the basket.

  • Printer Deskjet 5550

My Deskjet 5550 printer started printing very slow for some reason any.  It takes 5 minutes to print a fourth of a page.  It has worked very well.  I found a Web site and did all the troubleshooting that was proposed, even bought a new cable.  Someone has an idea of what could be the problem?

The printer does a bunch of print heads, then pause for 15 seconds?  If so, I would say remove the cartrdige of color and try a print job.  If the result is always a slow printing can replace the color cartridge and remove the black cartridge and then print a page.  The cartridge installed when the page prints slowly is the likely culprit. (Note that printing with only the installed color cartridge will be a little slower than normal printing with black cartridge installed.  For the purposes of this test you are looking for gross differences in print speed.)

  • Photoshop CS2 crashing after installing the new Epson printer

I have just installed a new Epson Workforce 323 all-in-one printerand its job very well. Yay!

But now PS CS2 crashes on opening.

Just Photoshop--everything is fine - Illustrator, GoLive, InDesign, Safari, Mail, etc.

I have an MacPro running OS x 10.4.11

I have other things Epson - 2 printers (C88 and 2200) and a scanner (1240U) and they were never a problem.

The C88 printer is dead (I stuck paper inside, then had to tear out, who messed up the print heads and all - otherwise it is always "worked", it was just all wonky), is why I replaced it with this new 323 of labour.

I was on the phone with the help of Epson and they had no idea about the question of the PS.

I had a guy online on 'Just Ask' me don't walk through the uninstall drivers, etc - also no help in the end.

    Apple don't know either.

    So here I am.

Is a known issue with CS2 and Epson? I have to upgrade CS2? Y at - there a patch or something?

Any help at all would be SO appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,

    Paula

All patches for CS2 was released several years ago.

My guess is that the TWAIN driver for the part of scanner Epson crashes at startup.  Disable the TWAIN plugin in Photoshop can avoid these accidents, until you get a newer driver from Epson that doesn't crash.

  • slow printing in CS6 ID on the new iMac

My HP Laserjet 1320 printing is very slow ID CS6 (V 8.0.1) and other Adobe apps on my new iMac running OS 10.11.6. About 4 to 5 minutes before printing begins, even on the pages of text only. Printing has been very good to CS6 on the same printer on the old computer, MacPro under Snow Leopard. The new and older computers have 8 GB of memory. Any ideas?

InDesign CS6 only is not supported under El Capitan. You would be better advised to upgrade to InDesign CC2015.

  • HP Deskjet offline after installing Windows 7

I have a network HP DeskJet 6988 printer.  The printer is connected to the network via a wired Linksys router.  I access it from 4 different computers at home with (until recently) no issues.  One of my computers has been recently upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7.  I noticed that, after completing the upgrade this computer (not others) now loses connectivity to the printer when the computer reboots.  In windows control panel shows the printer as off line and al jobs go in the queue, but does not print.  I see the printer on my network and the other computers are still able to print but the W7 computer impossible.  The only way I could fix this problem is to uninstall and reinstall the printer who quickly become a pain.

    Can anyone offer help?

You can also set the IP address in the webserver built into the printer.

Type its IP address in a browser.

    Select the Networking tab

    Select the 802.11 settings

    Select the IPv4 tab

Set the IP address manually to all that it has now, subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway and DNS server IP of your router (192.168.1.1)

    Click on apply

Now, restart the router and the printer.

Looks like his driver has been installed by the user instead of for all users, for example by an administrator?   (I don't remember if it is still a feature of the XP.)

BTW, this is not the best forum to ask for help with hardware and boot, especially for an old OS problems.

  • Problems with colors on the screen after installing the new motherboard Vista

Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit wrong colors.  Monitor works fine.  If a monitor has checked and all colors were there.  Had installed a new motherboard.  Worked well for fivedays then the colors red and green disappeared again.

You don't say where the motherboard has come: the Mamufacturer of the computer, or that you buy yourself.

    Take the correct option:

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/motherboard > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.
