• Issue of HD Codec IDT Audio Glitching

  I just purchased a DV7 4045ea and have had many problems with the sound, causing usually skip and stutter in Skype/ventrillo and games (and including Starcraft 2). These requests when jumping and stuttering occurs it causes a massive load on the processors at the same time. Skype/vent is similar to CD audio to skip. In games (sc2 is my main game) the result is a stuttering game when an audio effect is read, if I turn off the music and effect of the background of the problem are less frequent. If I play music the game stutters all the time.

  Please, if anyone can help can they advise me because its makes me round the twist! I feel aggrieved that a laptop computer £ 1000 performs worse than my old man of 300 pounds (who plays SC2 and aeration/Skype with problems what so ever).

  Hi, I installed Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium and everything is ok, but the sound.  I have a Dell XPS 420 desktop computer.

  I have a speaker icon with a red x next to it on the taskbar.  If I go over it it says "no audio output device is installed".  I have the IDT High Definition Audio Codec 6.10.5607.0 (September 5, 2007) that the pilot if I go to Device Manager.  I tried to use Windows to 'Fix' it, but it may not.  I also tried to use Windows to update the driver but it says I have the latest version.

  Can anyone tell me the latest driver that works with Windows 7 please?

  The IDT is the wrong driver.  You need the SigmaTel Dell driver for proper operation.   Here's the SigmaTel Dell for Vista 32/64-bit, it will work for Win 7 32/64 bit.

  The IDT drivers are too recent for the audio chip 420 (IDT bought SigmaTel but all their drivers are incompatible/later versions).   Likewise, do not install the Microsoft "HD Audio Codec" as it is too either does not work or does not work properly.

• G71-340US notebook: no sound after 10 Windows free update of WIN7 on a G71-340US laptop with CODEC IDT.

  After the free upgrade to WIN7 for WIN10 my laptop has no noise (with internal or external speakers).   I'm happy to announce that I now have sound on my laptop G71-340US. After that more detailed error troubleshooting I found that there is an application called IDT Audio PC (aka IDT HD Sound) installed on my laptop by HP (OEM), I think. While I don't know exactly what function of this application is, it seems, it is related to activation of the feature of IDT HD Codec drivers. Somehow, I decided to look in Task Manager - startup and I saw this listed IDT Audio PC. I clicked on disable and then a minute later clicked on activate. After I did that, as simple as it seems, I have now heard both internal and external speakers. This is the first time I heard all the sounds since the upgrade to WIN10. I checked several times by re-booting my laptop and every time I now have sound. I will continue to test it through the week and see if it continues to be OK. In the meantime, I thought I'd share this potential fix (or solution) with all stakeholders. Perhaps others will find this useful and give me your comments. Fingers crossed!

  PS. BTW, if anyone out there knows what PC IDT sound is by all means share your knowledge. I'm curious why this app appears more often in the forum messages and how it can relate to the WIN10 upgrade. Sorry, but I do not remember what prompted me to look at the task - starting but Manager I'm glad I did. It's great to hear again!

  Then install the IDT pilot through the HP Recovery Manager when you are connected to Windows or by the use of your set of recovery disks. You must choose the IDT audio driver instead of the driver selected in the image and then click on install.

  For awhile now, my computer has been failure to start Win XP. It will load and then when it comes to display the home screen, it gets stuck, shows a mouse with a black screen and then reboots. Sometimes the OS would start, sometimes it wouldn't. Instead of haggling with her, I installed Win 7 x 64 as a dual-boot. However, there is always valuable information about booting XP now, I can't transfer. The update has been installed successfully, however, now when I try to start Win XP, it will not always successfully starts. I don't know if the decommissioning of the BIOS to v3.07 will help, but any help is appreciated.

  Start sometimes makes me think of a bad sector, data bits low not really located in the vertical mansion. I think you look some maintenance of the hard drive.  What is the last time that you ran the check disk? You have any utility from hard disk as spinrite? Go to the manufacturer web site and download their test of free certification on the disc and make a bootable iso image cd.  It able to fix bad sectors and repair minor problems in the car. Make sure that the XP partition on is not full.  Check that you have not accumulated a massive amount of files in the root of the drive for XP. You should always be able to read the partition of XP 64-bit or windows XP files 7.

• IDT high definition codec audio dell latitude D520

  I recently registered as a result of utilities systems Winzip & found that I lost my sound and I was to find that the new hardware wizard wants to install diver for IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. Read the previous questions, I have concluded that Winzip had deleted the Sigmatel audio driver & found this is the case of the audit.
  I have restored the driver but still have no sound.  I realize that I probably needed to remove the Codec IDT: D Audio but can't find it in Add/Remove Programs Windows, high definition Audio Driver package - KB835221.

  I also see that in my programs folder there is a program for IDT: D A Codec.

  I am no expert on computers, but please can someone help me with what to do next because I am very wary of just delete things. (if possible in simple English is a minimum of "computer language).

  BTW, you don't buy any utility driver update to update your drivers for you. Identify your manufacturer or the motherboard manufacturer, access it its support page to get the last available device driver.
