Compaq Presario SR1913WM: Win10 install on Compaq Presario SR1913WM default

No method of installing Windows 10 has worked on my Compaq Presario SR1913WM.

My first favorite/attempt method was a clean install Win10 32 bit ISO burned to a DVD-R (installation method because the USB ports on the SR1913WM are not recognized by any Win10 [this is why I attach a PS/2 keyboard to install]):

With installation (aka clean) "Custom", I get the error
"We have found all the disks. "For a storage driver, click on load a driver.
but when I then selects a full DVD - R record of all drivers 'Vista' EXE files for the SR1913WM, (which I thought would have been a better choice than the only other option, XP drivers) I get the error message "no device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK. "(If yes or not I check 'Hide drivers that are not compatible with the hardware on this computer.) »).

(Is there a way to get the real driver INF of the EXE file? Their execution didn't extract all files [whichI could find, in all cases], and the old trick of "change the zip extension" did not work either.)

With the installation of "Keep applications and personal files", he told me to run the installation from inside 8.1, however that also results in an error if the DVD-R or popup of Microsoft to upgrade on the Win10 * offered * (I hear it, it's a good sign) in the BONES, specifically, either:
1. "the drive where Windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive, and then try again. »
(If I opt for "Keep my files") or,
2. "there was a problem of reset your PC."
(If I opt for "Remove all")

Any help, * please *? Or is this PC stuck on 8.1?

Compaq Presario SR1913WM care

(I think my option to Win10 free upgrade expires in 21 days.)

I'm sorry that your recent attempts to install W10 have not succeeded.

You can't say that you don't give it your best shot!

You have to do is say ' I wonder if... "You have tried all the tricks in the book.

  • HP 6730 b Compaq Notebook "backup default HDD (b8) please" Message

For some time now my computer get this message at startup. I understand my HDD is faulty and will need to be replaced. I'd be able to get a replacement from HP or I have to buy a new one?

"If there is no backup of HARD drive (b8) Please along the lines of this.

IM pretty sure I have this computer 4 years ago.

This year my computer kept dying in a gel upward and then when I restart I will 'fix' 'restoration' or 'reformmat' all it will work, but I have to reinstall windows xp or vista every time. Work for a week, then it crashes and I have to reformmat all over again if the repair/restore does not work.

Sure I can fix it with a new one. So my question is if I can get a HP's HARD drive replacement?

Could someone guide me to a new HARD drive? My HARD drive is 111g I think

    Hello:

It would be much cheaper for you to get a hard drive from one supplier other than HP.

Probably, your laptop hard drive is 120 GB. 111 f is available net space.

If you want an outstanding replacement hard drive for your laptop, then I recommend this one...

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop:

    http://bizsupport1.Austin.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c02030223/c02030223.PDF

You can find the list of hard drives supported with HP part numbers in Chapter 3, page 30.

If you want to buy one from HP, then order by part number listed next to the player you want.

  • Google Chrome installed but I have not installed it. Also the default browser configured to read a link as if it were an application for commencement. A lot of questions because I improved the MSE. What is happening with this? Also network problems.

Since I upgraded MSE (when I did, there was a popup telling me it had not been approved for XP) I had to do system restore because it would not be updated and did not allow me update Windows. Moreover, since the installation of a new version of CCleaner and jump into an H & R Block CD (but not installed) Google Chrome suddenly appeared as installed. A day later, when I open IE8, it said that it was not my default browser. It turns out that the default was trying to read the links as if they were programs to open. These things happen in sequence, not all at once. I'm starting to lose faith in MSE as a viable security program. Everyone knows these issues?

Unless you did, do you also have a Google toolbar? That install package you used for CCleaner it is where your new Chrome browser default change probably came to look always for 'extras' during the installation of the software, sometimes even when you uncheck the options such as the toolbar Google or Google Chrome as default browser and the homepage that they install any way. In the case of CCleaner you must always use the/setup package install ' Slim/No toolbar' such as the one proposed here.

    http://MajorGeeks.com/CCleaner_Slim_d4191.html

Go to the general tab in the Internet Options and reset your default homepage and reset your default browser in "Set program access and Defaults" then uninstall Google Chrome and toolbar using Add/Remove programs. If you have had the problem of Chrome before attempting to upgrade the MSE this may have contributed to updates failed. In general you cshould use only Internet Explorer or Firefox. When you have windows pop - up was part of Windows Genuine Advantage of message validation? If Yes, see this post here.

  • Impossible to re - install wireless Officejet 6500 after default

    Hello

I have an Officejet 6500 wireless (never used wireless) the operating system is Windows XP Pro

Then started to weird error when closing down the computer - could not access the printer preferences even if the printer worked OK.

Got this message "address of the 0x50085a97 function caused a protection fault (code 0xc0000005 exception)".

If the printer would work, had no control over the printing preferences.

Decided to uninstall and reinstall the printer (oh dear!)

Used the installation disk - install fails at the point where we must restart due to some files that need deletion - after restart fails again at the same point (files not deleted?)

I tried to download HP software - it has not also - went through Windows update (had Service Pack3!) as requested on the screen, but still has no installation.

Something has come to do it with an older version of the scanner - msi? whatever it is!

Seems there are files on the computer that should be deleted before installation will work - but cannot be deleted?

Have removed all HP files on the hard disk, even if the search finds a lot of files HPxxxxxx?

Help! If I can't sort this point, need to format the hard drive and start all the againg (last resort)

    Hello

The printer is the E709 (6500 wireless) connected by USB.

Have solved? problem loading software (from disk) to another computer (also running XP) check the printer works for this installation - copy software hard drive to the second computer on a flash drive, (program & files files shared) and loading on the original computer.

Printer works now (for how long?), except that I can't open Toolbox printer in the solution Center (had to add shortcut myself)- BUT something weird, using Control Panel printer - setup - #1-#5 (troubleshooting) Gets the message "there is no connection to the computer"and a flashing "!" - but it prints OK?

Thanks for your help (do not know why it is said 'student' against my ID, I'm 64 and built my first computer (itself) over 15 years ago!)

  • Install Adobe Reader XI by default location

I try to install Adobe Reader XI to one location other than the default location. The location, it is by default is a 100 MB partition, which is not big enough for the installation. During the installation process, before he gets to the point where it tells me to clear up some space, I don't me the window to change the location by default/directory. Here are things I tried.

    Installation via the Auto-Installer

Download Auto Installer on the disk I want to install it, and then running it from there

Download the .exe from Adobe's FTP site and running it to the correct location

Download the .msi file of the Adobe FTP site and running it to the correct location

Running msiexec to change the installation directory - msiexec/i <MSI location> installdir ="desired installation location"/qb

I am at a loss here. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I found the answer. When you run the initial Setup, it's tempting point to a temporary directory to load files for installation. The he was trying to point to the temp directory was only 100 MB so not big enough. I found the steps to change the temporary location by default, and that solved the problem.

Right click on computer / my computer

    Properties

    Advanced/advanced system settings

    Environment variables

Change the TMP and TEMP to a location that has enough space

These are the steps for XP and Win7.

If you try to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 I suggest that you make a backup of the image before trying again. If 10 is unable to complete the installation, does not work correctly this backup may be your only way back in Windows 7.

  • Mac Pro Win10 Bootcamp 6 problem

I have a late 2013 Mac Pro with win10 installed via bootcamp. When I was playing with the correction of memory and Crossfire options for the video driver for my D700 had crashed and would never recover little matter how many times I rebooted, tried different ports etc... I had to log in to safe mode and remove the video drivers and to remove the software to make it work again. Now, I can start in my bootcamp partition but video drivers must always be installed. There is no bootcamp to icon on the taskbar. Apple software update says I last 6 training camp and won't let me reinstall or uninstall. Windows uninstaller won't uninstall bootcamp, Apple provides no bootcamp 6 pilots to the public, helper on OSX bootcamp not download drivers or drive out of them as in the past...

So what am I supposed to do with my Mac Pro 9 k $?

So what am I supposed to do with my Mac Pro 9 k $?

What is right. You deleted currently partially drivers and possibly a registry damaged.

Apple allows the public access to Windows drivers with the help Wizard of BC. El Capitan and superior, with BC 6.x, you can download the drivers for help

Put it on a USB key, if necessary, start in Windows and run setup.exe from the USB and the test.

  • Win7 - > Win10, multiple hard drives problem

    Hello!

Followed all the instructions (see the links on the bottom) and tried to install win10 all means, USB and via winUpdate, etc with no result. It took several hours to eliminate all other options, the problem is several hard drives. What I really need to disconnect all other drives to get win10 installed? Because now if I disconnect them, my current win7 will notice it as a hardware change and does not start properly you want to run the complete repair or new installation. I can't install my win7 since the thing began with a single hard drive first and then install win10 to get my other HARD drives work. It's as full of 2 working days to get it all done with my installed programs and make them work again! Is here from a fix to correctly get the installation work of win10 or same installer with some sort of partition program as win7 Setup has? SE win10 is not a simple task, even it's free.

    Hello.

Statement of the problem is very simple: Firefox won't create bookmarks.

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • I saved my folder profile from another pc, something went wrong when pasting it to this pc, now I can't even install Firefox at all!

I copied my profile of a pc folder and went to paste into the spot on the next pc profile, according to the instructions on the web page of Firefox. Of course, I did something wrong, because I got a pop up that said that it could not access my profile, or something (don't remember). So I uninstalled and reinstalled or tried, but it gets at the end of the installation, when it would normally launch FF, I get a pop up saying your profile could not be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.
I think he "installed" correctly, because it is the FF icon in my taskbar and the shortcut on my desktop.
    HEEELP!

    Here's a guess:

If you had already installed Firefox, then deleted the default profile, he has created:

The problem may be that Firefox has a record of this missing folder and does not see your new. Check the following to a file called profiles.ini path:

    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

Note: by default, AppData is a hidden folder. If you do not, you can use this 'shortcut' instead (paste into the search box or address bar of Windows Explorer):

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox

Open it in Notepad or another text editor and change the folder name to match the one that you copied on the profile.

    What is the scenario/solution?

  • I just installed FF4 and the default theme seems odd, how to fix?

Hey, I just installed firefox 4 and the default theme doesn't look like the screenshots I've seen. I have no button firefox (I have a menu instead) and the interface has a dark background. In addition, the new tab buttons and the home page are in a different position.

How do I change this to the default settings?

The screenshot you provided does not work!

It seems you're on Windows XP.

Right-click on the menu bar and uncheck the option menu in the right click menu bar. You will see a Firefox orange Button in the leftmost tabbed moving upward.

Where you need the menu bar in the future as it is sometimes necessary for some options, you can easily get it by the F10 key. It displays the menu temporarily.

You can customize it by selecting the Customize option in the right click menu that I said to you, and you can drag and drop any button anywhere.

The default theme on Windows XP is very dull.
So, why not try personas. It is large and not memory hogs.
    http://www.getpersonas.com/en-us/

Personally, I use the. Mind blowing look even better than the available themes navigation.

Thnx for the use of Firefox.
