Compatibility between CS3 and CS4

Hello
I have CS3 installed home and CS4 just to work. I'll work with files using CS3 at home and then edit the same files to work, using CS4. I have problems with compatibility?
Thank you

Probably not...

  • Difference between CS3 and CS4 when you place images, unguarded percentage

    There is something of a difference between CS3 and CS4 when you place images. The images I'm dealing with right now were vector images, but it could apply to all sorts of images.

    When you replace an existing image, the behavior of CS4 is to leave the image full frame. In CS3, the percentage was set at 100% as default (% see you when selecting the image, not the container).

    Also when you replace an impage in CS4, the 'internal' picture frame is maintained, while in the C3, the percentage was limited.

    Y at - it sort of investment preferences / settings leave CS4 same wat like CS3 did, when you place an image?

    -Andreas

    If reliinking keeps the scale or dimensions is now a part of preference in CS4, if that helps.

    You can play with this setting and do a few manual rebinding to see if something is appropriate. I'm not a script, but I think you can reset this preference as part of a script.

  • Install upgrade between CS3 and CS4

    Hey everybody,

    I want to upgrade my current installation of Indesign CS3 to CS4 (not the entire creative suite). All I got is a new serial number. Can someone tell me what is the best way to do the upgrade? It just that I need to change a license file or run the CS3 installation routine still more enter the new number series or should I still CS3 uninstall first? Apart from this, is it possible that I can keep my version of Indesign CS3 running outside my new version of Indesign CS4?

    Thanks for your help!

    You can upgrade independent InDesign CS3 to InDesign CS4 standalone without removing the old product.

    It is the best way.

    Run the installation of new, and there you go, your old installation remains intact. Now you can edit the two generations of InDesign files.

    You can't pass a single product to a suite.

  • How to charge the PS CS3 and CS4, after the disk (C) computer crash?

    Had a computer disk (C) in Win10 crash; desktop computer and need to reload programs! How can I recharge

    My PS CS3 and CS4, reloaded actually programs them but need to activate without the need of upgrades. HOW TO MAKE!

    If CS3 is an upgrade, it would need a serial number to a version prior to installation qualification and the serial number for CS3 would be eligible for the upgrade to CS4.

    If you have your registered Adobe products, you can go online and get them.

  • files between cs3 and cs5 compatibility

    Hello

    What are the issues of the compatilibity between Photoshop CS3 and CS5?  Can they be used together without much (if any) questions?

    Thank you.

    They can happily coexist on the same system, as long as you have the disk space.  Photoshop has always been like that.

    You will be able to run one at a time, at a given moment, however.

    About the compatibility of files, I did not how many it is necessary to open a file in Photoshop CS3, but the new version offers a preference setting "Maximize compatibility" to save the .psd files.  On occasion, I opened the .psd file in Photoshop CS3 saved by CS5 (using the parameter above) and I didn't know all the problems at all.

  • Different fonts between CS3 and CS5 on Win7 system using the same fonts directory

    I have several files created in Fireworks CS3 that work very well. Fonts are all installed in the directory system on my Win7 box.  This used to be a WinXP Pro box.

    I can load a file in Fireworks CS3 without a single question and text everything seems perfect. As it should.  Close the CS3 open CS5 and load the same file and CS5 tells me I must update my fonts.  Why?  Same system, the same fonts in the same font directory. Only thing that's changed, it's that I open the file (s) in CS5.

    The fonts look the same in CS5.  I'll have to redo all the Fireworks CS3 files so that it looks correct in CS5? If so, why?

    -Bob

    Here is a sample image of the way it is supposed to look like. The Swift gets watered. PlazaDUtil is the police. I'd hate to have to redo all my files logo.

    Before Fireworks CS4 used engine type of Macromedia. Adobe CS4 with impatience, introduced the adobe type engine to improve the handling/integration of text between AI FW and Psalm accordingly transition files CS3 to cs4 forces FW update policies.

  • Satellite C660 - compatibility between motherboard and hard drive internal

    Hi, I have a problem with the compatibility between the internal (1 terabyte) hard drive and installing windows 7 pro.
    I broke my old internal hard drive (320 GB) and I bought the new hd (1 tb), but during the installation it says that w7 cannot be installed on this new hard drive.

    Can my pc motherboard (serial number: 3B071014k) support the new hard drive (serial number: wd10jpvx)?
    and if the answer is 'yes', how can I make it work?

    First of all the question has nothing to do with the motherboard and HARD drive compatibility.
    If the HARD drive is visible in the BIOS (first page), the HARD drive is supported by the BIOS and HARD disk controller.
    In the case where the drive HARD isn't recognized, you will need to replace this HARD drive with another. I guess the smaller size of the 2.5 SATA HDD THAT would be taken in charge (500 GB)

    However, in case the HARD disk is visible in the BIOS, you should be able to install Windows 7.
    Before starting the installation, you must format the HARD drive and should create the system partition.
    For this procedure, I recommend to use some tools such as partitions for example: GParted
    GParted is a freeware Linux tool.
    You can create a bootable USB key in order to start the device using GParted:
    http://gparted.sourceforge.NET/LiveCD.php

    Then, you should be able to format the HARD disk and create partitions.

  • A question about a difference between CS3 and CS6 (sorry if this is a mistake addressed)

    When placed in InDesign (CS3 and CS6) a transparent tif (CMYK) image, there is a difference between those who are created in Photoshop CS3 (correct) and CS6 (white background). Why?

    Ask in the forum ID and provide all the necessary information such as profiles of colors used layer styles, TIFF, saving options and so on.

  • Text find and change the problem CS3 and CS4 scripts

    I use the script below to find text and turn them into others.

    There is one thing the script can't do it for me.

    Example:

    (g) management

    (1) that no law that is adopted in the Cayman Islands, a tax to collect profits, income, gains or satisfaction does apply to the company or its activities; and

    (2) that the above-mentioned tax or any tax in the form of rights of succession or inheritance tax is payable in respect of shares, debentures or other obligations of the company.

    Example: (end)

    I had a lot of subjects or points in the passage. And I want to change the space between '(g)' and 'Management' in a tab character. So I revised the plain text file 1texte.

    PS: 1text.txt is filled with what to change.

    text {findWhat: "^ p(^?)" ' "} {changeTo: "^ p(^?)"} ^ t "} {includeMasterPages:true, includeHiddenLayers:true, includeFootnotes:true, wholeWord:false} search all space-dash-space and replace it with an en dash."

    The result is:

    (^?) ^ tManagement

    (^?) ^ tthat any law that is passed in the Cayman Islands, imposing a tax on profits, income, not capital gains or satisfaction applies to the company or its activities. and

    (^?) ^ tthat the above-mentioned tax or any tax in the form of rights of succession or inheritance tax is payable in respect of shares, debentures or other obligations of the company.

    PS: ^ t is a tab character.

    This is not what I want.

    It should be"(g) ^ tManagement'.

    PS: ^ t is a tab character.

    FindChangeByList.jsx
    An InDesign CS4 JavaScript
    /*
    @@BUILDINFO @ "FindChangeByList.jsx" 2.0.0.0 January 10, 2008
    */
    Loads a series of strings delimited by tab characters from a text file, and then executes a series
    Find/replace operations based on the lines read from the file.
    //
    The data file is delimited by tabs, returns to cart that separates records.
    //
    The format of each record in the file is:
    findType < tab > findProperties < tab > changeProperties < tab > findChangeOptions < tab > description
    //
    Where:
    < tab > is a tab character
    findType is 'text', 'grep' or 'glyph' (this sets the find/replace operation type to use).
    findProperties is a recording of properties (text) search preferences.
    changeProperties is a recording of properties (text) of the change preferences.
    findChangeOptions is a recording of properties (text) of the options find/replace.
    Description is a description of the search/replace operation
    //
    Very simple example:
    text {findWhat: "-"} {changeTo: "^ _"} {includeMasterPages:true, includeHiddenLayers:true, includeFootnotes:true, wholeWord:false} find all double hyphens and replace by an em dash.
    //
    More complex example:
    text {findWhat: ' ^ 9 ^ 9.} {' ^ 9 ^ 9 '} {appliedCharacterStyle: 'price'} {include notes: true, include master pages: true include hidden layers: true, any word: false} find $ 10.00 to $ 99.99 and apply the character style 'price '.

    All metacharacters search InDesign are allowed in the properties 'findWhat' and 'changeTo"findTextPreferences and changeTextPreferences.
    //
    If you enter the backslashes in the object findGrepPreferences findWhat property, they must be "escaped".

    I'm not a writer, but I'll take a stab and try to make a difference here.

    The main problem, in my opinion, is that you use a plain text instead of GREP search. Text gross has no provision to replace the text found by itself, for example, rather than using the codes you entered a literal string. Your search text of ' ^ p(^?) ' means find any character in brackets that occurs after a paragraph break. I would use in GREP ^ \s+ (\(.+?\)) which translates to find an opening parenthesis at the beginning of a paragraph (so he'll find if it happens to be the first character in th in a story) followed by a number any characters up to the first parenthesis (in the case where you have double the figures or double entries letter) followed by ANY white space (in the case where it is not an ordinary space or multiple spaces). Replace $1\t which means the text found in the first set of parentheses in query search followed by a tab.

    Parentheses are special in GREP, they surround groups of terms you want to re-use the text found, so looking for the actual characters you need to 'escape' with the-prefix, so \(.+\) will find a paren open followed by all the characters up to the end last paren in the paragraph. Addition of the? After the + makes research stop at the first closing paren met, although there are several sets in the paragraph.

  • Problem with VPN compatibility between 2811 and 2911

    Hello

    I would ask anyone had problems with the implementation of a VPN tunnel between 2811 and 2911?

    The IPSec VPN is established, but for some reason, I cannot ping the side LAN across LAN to the other end of the VPN router?

    All experience would be highly appreciated

    Thank you

    IPSec VPN can be smoothly between routers cisco (and not nesesserely cisco) set up, so there should be no problem in your case.

    If you say that this tunnel is established successfully, then the problem most likely related to routing problems between sites or incorrect configured crypto-acl. Check if the hosts located on both sites have correct routing information on how to get to subnets on the other site.

    Make more accurate assumptions, it would be helpful that you provide config on both sites and describe your topology.

I have not been able to tt sync until the calendar to the alll. I am using Desktop manager V5.0, the version of the platform is 3.4and application versiin is 4.5.0.131. Is this an inherent compatibility or it should work?

  • CS3 and CS4 FLA in Flash 8 Pro files?

    Anyone know what it takes for me to open the .fla of CS3/CS4 files - in my Flash 8 Pro?

    He says 'incorrect file type' or something like that...

    The guys sending me CS3/CS4 is a PC user, and I am a Mac user... don't know if it matters...

    Thank you

    John

    Cannot open file CS3/4 in Flash 8.  You or the person who sent you the files should save the files down to the versions of Flash 8 before you can open them in Flash 8.  CS3 can save files down to Flash directly as each version of Flash may save the previous version.  But CS4 files must be saved as files CS3 first, and then CS3 could be used to save in Flash 8.  If all the new features of CS3/4 are used in the files, these characteristics will be lost in the conversion.

  • CS3 and cs4 may be mixed?

    I'm tinkering with burn to DVD, on a project.  The box I burn a project that contains both cs3 & cs4 first pro projects.  It does not appear that I can open projects cs3 CS4 without many clip "oversight."  If anyone knows if I can add content on a dvd with cs4 cs3?

    Normally, we can open the CS3 CS4 PrPro projects, but there may be exceptions.

    Now, as far as doing a project in Encore, with assets of CS3 CS4 & is not a problem. Given your problems with CS3 PrPro PrPro CS4 projects, I would recommend that do you things the "old-fashioned" way - export of assets of each version of the PrPro, as stream elementary/primary, i.e. only one video file and an Audio file only. Import the video file only as a timeline and then each Audio file only as an asset. Drag the Audio on the appropriate timeline and it will snap into place. You can choose in each version of PrPro, to MPEG-2 transcoding, or can export as DV - AVI (without Audio) and still let the transcoding. This choice is yours. If you follow the path of MPEG-2, you will need to know and understand "bit-budgeting" and have a bit-setting budget calculator.

    No problem doing what you need to do. I do all the time with PrPro assets and some of these other NLE in the proper format. No problem whatsoever.

    Good luck

  • New PC Vista Ultimate ID CS3 and CS4-"enter" does not work

    I have a new laptop running Vista Ultimate.  I installed my CS3 Design Premium full version and in InDesign, have had problems with both past on the keyboard extended to give me a page break. I copy and paste a paragraph break or select from the insertion of special characters instead of type entry (not to mention the line break and a column which are also easily accessible break).  I actually never use page breaks, so it's extremely annoying.  Yesterday, I downloaded the 30 day demo of InDesign CS4 to see if it works better (willing to be upgraded if it fixes the problem). However, it also has the same issue - the two keys "enter" give a page break.  Obviously this is a bug that is overflowing with ID, but I don't have the problem in another application. Of course, I would like some advice as to how to track down where this issue develops and if there is a way I can fix it.
