Compatibility CSS in Firefox

What it looks like in IE IE

and in Firefox

I finally got the chance to do a little reading on CSS and decided to implement in a new site, that I am. I am fairly new to this, but I think I get the general call of the coding. The only real problem I have at the moment is the compatibility with Firefox vs IE with the code below (see image above). It's just at the top of my site, and as you can see, he throws the divs below it. If someone could point me in the right direction, please do.

There are places MUCH better to ask CSS questions as these CF forums

Well, one of them was an image... the other one was a tiny thumbnail... I
has had to play Sherlock Holmes to deduce the correct path to the full
image... :)

It is not solutions. This is in order to understand how things work and can
later the correct CSS code (according to standards)

(> 4) thanks, that helped a little

FireFox is an add-on brilliant called Firebug - one of its many features
allows you to 'Edit' styles of individual elements 'on the fly' - you can
statements of CSS Disable/enable/add/change instantly and see the results on
your page - all this without re-record the CSS files and reloading the page

Looks like if you give - .header .logo - on line 46 of default.css about 105px height - and give - .header, .main, .footer - overflow: hidden on line 31 to default.css - after all the product back on the page and header is it the same with chrome and ie.

    Hello

my site looks good in that is to say, well centered, however in firefox everyting is varied to the left. any ideas would be appreciated

First fix your coding errors. Then you can worry about your layout
    problems.

And by the way, your CSS below will not work at all. A margin of auto
cannot work unless the element also has an assigned width. But we will make of the
    first valid thing.

  • The cross-platform browser compatibility CSS rule help

I am an advanced beginner Web Designer.

The site that I need help is www.sprungtheatre.com

I designed this site on a PC computer. Each page has a different Background Image CSS rule. The only rule I put is the image and the 'no - repeat'. I did put the terms of its offering.

Each of these images had an effect feather applied in Illustrator so that the image would have melted in the background black. This works fine on Windows machines in IE and Firefox.

However, on Macs, the left side of the image is cut off. Who wants to say, it seems if the feathered edge was cut and the picture ends abruptly.

Is there a way to fix this?

I just think that is this my occur:

The rule of CSS Background Image is applied to a nested table that is editable in a model. I think the Mac browswers to move the image to the top-left of the table of "Grandpa" in the set, in which the editable region is nested, cut this part of the image that appears in the region uneditable 'Grandpa' table and showing the part of it that appears in the editable nested table. I hope that makes sense. Application of investment rules would it? Otherwise, what could?

    Thank you very much

    Jon

My bad: I was looking at my old CSS file. All that now! Thank you!

  • How to disable automatic checking of compatibility when opening Firefox?

Just upgraded to Firefox 10.0 and the window opens and searches every time FF is open.

What security (firewall, antivirus) software do you have?

Some security software offers features of virtualization that restores files (.ini and .js are possible candidates) and prevents their set updated to Firefox.

  • I'm unable to access webmail on TalkTalk (formerly Tiscali) using Firefox 5.0 and TalkTalk tell me there is a compatibility issue?

I have not had any problems with my previous version of Firefox and I can access my Tiscali/TalkTalk webmail using the latest IE browser. I am connect but cannot access the contents of the mailbox. I asked TalkTalk on the problem they have stated that "If you are unable to access the mailbox using Firefox version 5, so I want to inform you that there is compatibility issue with Firefox version 5 and webmail of Talk Talk, thanks to which you found the error above. Alternatively, you can try to uninstall the latest version of firefox, and then reinstall the earlier version to settle the case. "Can I assume that these difficulties will be resolved between you? I would prefer to use Firefox and do not wish to go back to IE.

Apparently, TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and 5 of Firefox If you set the browser are to TalkTalk mail saying that you always use version 3.6.

You can find instructions for this in a post on the forums of TalkTalk: Firefox 4 & TalkTalk webmail - Forums.

Note: when you open about: config the first time, it will display a warning message that you have to be careful with changes that you make. It's certainly good to keep in mind.

    Hello

while I can see in my FF all the photos, my IE8 shows only the surface. Research, your source code, the first thing I noticed was different from spelling. "Mosaïc" and "mosaic". It is best if you want to use names without this special character: "Images/Mosaic" instead of "images/Mosaic.

After doing that please check again the paths to the images and their directories.

... and please, because often discussed here in the forum, you must also remove the spaces in the file names, you can use underscores instead.

  • Graph of Firefox ridiculously furred after update

I installed Firefox on Kubuntu (38.0 package version + build3 - 0ubuntu0.14.04.1). After the upgrade, the Firefox UI everything is furred. Tabs, icons, everything. Given zero has not set the problem. A screenshot should be attached, although I seem to have a lot Uploader.

Thanks for the screenshot. Another user posted about this earlier today: default zoom is too big (unsolved). I will repeat my comments here where they help.

I think that your distribution contains platform-specific extensions, then I suggest to test with those disabled in case there is a compatibility issue with Firefox 38. One way to do that is to run Firefox Safe Mode. It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

    and OK reboot.

Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).

    Any improvement?

If this makes no difference, you can try to adjust the setting for the support of high-resolution, which functions as a zoom factor:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste the pix and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) preference layout.css.devPixelsPerPx is usually set to-1.0, which means use the system default value. You can change this to 1.0 for the return of 96 DPI and see if that's what you prefer. And you can increase the size of there by slices, for example, 1.1 for a total zoom of '110% '.

Please be careful not to set this value to something tiny, because it can be difficult to recover from that.

  • The new version of Firefox 20 is compatible with the Norton Toolbar?

I just received notice this morning on this new version of Firefox, but I hesitate to install until I know that my Norton toolbar will work. Can you give us some information? Thank you!

    Solael,

Best is to ask the support of Comcast directly.

    http://forums.Comcast.com/T5/security-and-anti-virus/BD-p/13

Are you aware that Firefox 21 is scheduled to be released next Tuesday, May 14?

    https://wiki.Mozilla.org/RapidRelease/calendar

Comcast & Norton are already over 5 weeks of delay in the release of a compatibility update for Firefox 20.

Norton being the update compatibility Firefox 20 for their retail security applications in the 2 hours 20 Firefox being out, my guess is that Comcast is a delaying the update for their version of 'brand' of Norton.

See this response from a Manager Norton at the forum in support of Norton on April 29.

I apologize for not replying sooner. We're sorry for the delay, and we understand how frustrating this situation has become, however Norton & Comcast are working hard to resolve some recent changes for the Comcast Norton Security Suite. We want to reach a commercially viable resolution together in the best way possible, and do that as quickly as we can. I'll update you on any status change or additional information as it becomes available. Thanks for hanging in there with us.

I read 'commercially viable resolution' , as they are worth some money, and Comcast is dragging their customers dry for almost 6 weeks now.

Luckily a colleague of me figured it out!

It turns out that the cause of the firefox crashes came from a security layer installed with the ESC Secure Layer that uses an application called Manager of funds
The dll that the accident was referring is used by this program. Find that out was the hell google is now filled with the nonsense of 'check your PC for malware' stupid on a search for the dll.

After removing the application, FF works fine again without crashing.
So it seems a compatibility issue with Firefox and Money Manager

Thanks for the help and I hope that someone in the future will have something on the solution we have found.

    Cheers!
