compatibility customer 8i to 10g Server

We are upgrading our server to Oracle 8.1.7.4 to 10.2.0.4. I have a lot of users who would have to connect to 10g client using Server 8i. 8i client is compatible to the 10g Server?

Define "8i client." 8i is a marketing label that can refer to 8.1.5.x, 8.1.6.y or 8.1.7.z.

MetaLink DocID 207303.1 provides a comprehensive client / server compatibility matrix. 8.1.7 customers used to be supported against 10.2 databases, so this should work. Earlier versions were not supported against 10.2 databases.

  • Apex 3.2 and 4.0 on the same 10g Server?

Hello. I have apex 3.2 on a 10g server. It is in production with some applications.
I want to do some tests, to import applications, refuse, etc. on 4.0 but leaving 3.2 upward and the work.
Can I install apex 4.0 on the same server, leaving the 3.2 work?
and... The html even Server CAN access applications and systems?

    Andres,

You can have only one version of the APEX by Oracle instance. For example, you cannot run 3.2 & 4.0 simultaneously.

You can configure a server to Oracle's HTTP for the two APEX 3.2 & 4.0.

Some advice: If you want to test APEX 4.0, so it is best to not do it on the same server/instance that you have in production. Even if you have only one machine, you can easily create an instance of Oracle in the Amazon Cloud, or use VMWare to run your tests.

    Thank you

  • With forms 10g server load balancing

    Hello

I have a client who is just now dealing with a migration from a platform of client-server 6i (using Terminal servers) to a platform of web forms 10 g with several application 10 g standalone servers.

In the end, customer wants to activate load balancing in order to have some manage to each application server workload.

The idea to accomplish is to have a hardware load balancer. The customer has already a CISCO CSS 11503 SSL.
Is there a documentation where I can check more info on compatibility/configuration for this architecture.

    Thank you for your attention.

    Kind regards
    Pedro Ribeiro

You can check this doc link: [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/hpux.1012/install.1012/install/toc.htm]
It say everything and anything mention on a load balancer, but I'll try to keep the research.

  • Customer count trigger KMS server

I found lots and lots of messages & discussion about KMS activation and troubleshooting. All of them come down to:

    • ensuring that the client can contact the KMS server
    • The KMS server has been activated with a valid KMS key
    • The number of requests of minimum activation for the requested activation type is filled.

The main challenge that most people have (based on the number of posts I've found) seems to be that last point: by ensuring that the number of minimum requests is maintained.

Each solution must be ensuring that unique cmids (the Client Machine ID) exist on the machines making requests; the CMID is supposed to be the unique identifier for the activation.

Unfortunately, I can prove it in a lab environment that is not true; Another factor is also at play. Here is the procedure to reproduce the failure:

    1. Configure a domain controller in a forest, isolated on an isolated network (so that you don't get noise or accidental activation of KMS servers client)
    2. Set up a KMS server as a domain member in the isolated forest. Install the KMS (slmgr.vbs-ipk {kms key}) key and activate it.
    3. Provision a virtual machine (any hypervisor will do) as a test client (server or workstation) as a member of domain on the isolated domain with a client key generic KMS and the OS that should activate your KMS server successfully. Take a snapshot of the virtual machine, then you can go back to the original state, before the meter to "rearm" is reduced (Windows7/Vista and Server 2008/2008R2 only allow 3 rearms, thus returning is faster than replenishment).
    4. Try to activate the test machine; It will fail due to put requests cached insufficient unique. It is expected, because we just started to initialize the KMS server.
    5. Run "slmgr.vbs /rearm"; Reboot as requested.
    6. Log in the test system. Check the observer of events for IDs 12288 and 12289; If you see no activation attempts, try manually activate using "slmgr.vbs /ato.
    7. On the KMS server, check the status of the unique client cache using "slmgr.vbs-dli". the account must be 1 or 2, depending on whether the pre rearm CMID was captured as a unique ID.
    8. Repeat steps 5 & 6, controls the number of KMS servers after each reboot. If you use up your reset, return the virtual machine and repeat.
    9. Note the CMID recorded on the KMS server to make sure that a unique ID was generated with each rearm.

In repeated testing, I got no chance to get the number correctly increase based on the ease of use of /rearm, although I can clearly see the unique CMIDs being connected on the KMS. What's up with that? What else must be "uniqueified" to get KMS to recognize the new customer?

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

I have an oracle 10g 32-bit client that I currently use on win7 64 bit OS but I need 64-bit customer oracle 10g.

10g downloads are deleted from the RTO. If you want, you must get in contact with the support.

  • model of custom in DW CS5 Server?

    Hello

I was wondering what measures should integrate a CMS custom with a non-standard server (similar to PHP/MySQL) model in the DW CS5 workflow.

Ideally, Live View and Code hinting should function as the integration of WordPress or Joomla in CS5.

I'm not a programmer, just a user of DW for a long time trying to compile the initial research for our team of programmers.

    Thank you for your help,

    Oliver Letz

    Hello

If you look in the menu to the left of this page, (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/dreamweaver/cs/using/index.html), you will see the dreamweaver extension and api reference links, you need, (you can also demand the docs of the creative suite, according to your needs).

There is an entire chapter in extending dreamweaver, under server model.

Probably the best way to proceed is to look at your dreamweaver configuration folder and the user configuration folder, because it will show you what is necessary, (and, eventually, how to encode) a new model of server.

Unfortunately outside the review of existing code, there is very little documentation with examples that will help you for better luck and even if this section of the forum is not used (or often visited) is probably still the only place where you will find all the help should you have a problem.

Depending on where you live (country wise) you might consider attending one of the conferences dreamweaver extension developers or even the MAX Conference, for more information see - http://max.adobe.com/ and http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/search/index.cfm?loc=en_us&term=extension%20developer%20sessi on.

  • Creating custom skin of content server

I installed Oracle Content Server on my computer in order to create a demo. I would like to customize the skin of Content Server, in order to follow the style of our company.

I'm following the book of Brian Huff
(The Definitive Guide for development of content server Stellent):
    HTTP://BOOKS.GOOGLE.COM.AU/BOOKS?ID=TIUZMYBPG2MC & PRINTSEC = FRONTCOVER & DQ = BRIAN + HUFF + STELLENT #PPA144, M1).
and to create an appearance as a copy of an existing custom, have copied the folder:

    / Weblayout/Resources/layouts/Top of the menus/Oracle

    rename it to something like:

    / Weblayout/Resources/layouts/Top of the menus/Amanda

I then restart my server content, but this option of skin doesn't seem to appear after choosing "Top Menu" for the layout, on the my profile tab.

Is there something I'm missing out?

    Amanda.

The process has changed a bit of 10gr 3. Check out the component of free sample 'Create and change the Layout' to learn more:

  • Impossible to register the software, because already registered... by WHO? Why the customer service can not serve me?

    Hello

Adobe seems to have a policy to encourage the illegal use of their products by making it very difficult for people who have paid money for their licenses.

We bought 4 licenses CS6 and 1 license of Lightroom. I checked the number of machines on which these licenses are, and we are not breaking the rules. However, we do not seem to register these products (after you have reinstalled the operating system). Products apparently are no longer supported.

I thought put in order for CC licenses for the whole team. If customer support is this bad, there is no way!

You register only produced once, usually when they are first installed.  If you reinstalled without first disabling products which could be the reason why you cannot turn them on (if 'activation' is what you really mean instead of 'register').  You should contact Adobe Support by chat or phone to seek their help.

  • Ridiculous question: Custom built ESX (i) server: worth it?

Hi all.  I'll start by saying that I am new to using virtual machine; Recently, I jumped on the wagon.  Dive head first, I'm looking to withstand a server ESX (i) of production mainly running some flavor of * nix with a typical installation of the LAMP and perhaps a few other ad - hoc * nix VM.  SQL get used more & more, I'll get off to another physical machine, but for now, I think I'm ok.  I currently have a * LAMP server of nix running on a Core 2 Quad (Q6600) & 4 GB.  Load exceeds rarely 0.75 and I have yet to see pass over 2.25.

Now, unfortunately Uncle Scrooge is not my uncle, so I can't plop down the crowd K required on a well-configured dual quad-core Xeon with 16 GB of RAM.  I had looked for renovated material and although some prices were within my reach (less than 2 k), many configurations don't compare to what I have now.  I'll do a lateral movement in terms of processing power, RAM etc, but I think that to do a dual Xeon 3.0 (single cores with a 800 MHz front bus) would be a step down from a Core 2 Quad.  (Am I wrong?)  I found some interesting configurations here and there but have concerns about the dilapidated equipment and limited growth potential.  Most of the systems were too expensive so only configured, only offered no dual-core option two, either dual core dual maxed out at 2.8 GHz.  I'd rather buy something middle of the road, so that all the less, he would replace what I have now and also I want to put a pair of quad-core Xeon on the road.

I have my own computers to build in general, but since ESX (i), from what I've gleaned so far, don't just install and run it on anything, I have my doubts, it will be a viable option.  Although the posts here & here (no links xtravirt work) suggest this has been done, they are tactile obsolete.  That being said,

Anyone done anything with technology rececnt like Core i7?

What a recent Tyan/SuperMicro/Asus dualistic structure and a couple of Gainestowns?

Savings, if any, to build your own servers VM outweigh the headaches to deal with

    -Compatible machines HCL ESX (i)

    -Machines years & refurbished

Any input is greatly appreciated.  Thank you for reading!

I f you are ready to run with the motherboards, not on the HCL, you can go to http://vm-help.com/

  • Newb: How to install the utility customer infrastructure on the server? Which product? Open source Versions?

I installed ESXi 3.5 with success to an old IBM eServer in my lab.  I used VMware-VMvisor-InstallerCD - 3.5.0_Update_4 - 153875.i386.iso.

I was also able correctly to install "The VMware Infrastructure Client" on another system and use it to create a virtual of Windows 2008 machine.

    1. I would like to have the same capacity on the server that I now remote, but I don't know which product should be added and how you actually add it produces.

    2. in addition, I don't know if I even installed the 'good' version of the server. I hope that I have installed a version that I can continue to be used for an unlimited number of times. If I didn't, then I would like to know what version of VMware for my server, I should install so I can continue to learn and test with falling on "your evaluation has expired."  It took a while to get this set up and I don't want to keep doing this over and over again.

    3. is there any place on the VMware site which has represented product relationships? Who has drawn different platforms?

I do not know if I use the 'correct' and don't know where to go to fix this. I think it's something that VMware do as simply as possible for beginners like me.

    Thank you very much

    Steve

vSphere is really a marketing term used in references to the VMware virtualization platform the datacenter version - it refers to the suite of vMware products has just published including ESX 4.0, ESXi 4.0 and vCenter 4.0 and other parts.  The previous version had a similar title Virtual Infrastructure 3 or VI-3 referring to the software suite consisting of ESX 3.x, ESXi 3.x, Virtual Center 2.x and other parts. VI - 3 and vSphere have their respective customers - the vSphere client can be used to manage vSphere components while the client VI-3, Virtual Infrastructure Client (VI Client) can only mange VI-3 components. Now with this base I will try to answer your questions

    • If you are using your server ESXi 3.5 vSphere client is part of an environment of vCenter vSphere - because as part of the upgrade [to vCenter 4.0 can handle a server ESXi 3.5 -

    • It is not a tool open source I know to be taken in charge or not supported.

    • The platform of the last and largest is the line of products - ESX, ESXi 4 and vCenter 4 vSphere 4

    • The best free platform is ESXi 4 - this is the State of the art virtualization platform - it is available for free, but you'll still have to record it with VMware to get a valid license.  VMware has also a hosted virtualization platform that turns over operation called VMware Server - but ESXi has a higher level of performance-

    Hope this clears up things

  • Report 10g Server (run multiple queries simultaneously)

Hi, I'm having a problem with the report server and I was wondering if there was a solution to this problem, I'll have.

I have several users who send requests from different report on the report server. My problem is that if the first is a report and a report of 1000 pages running, the 2nd user submits an application during execution of the 1st request, I noticed on the console of the report server, it says "pending in the queue.

Is there an option on the report server to allow applications to report both the user run simultaneously? In this way, users are not waiting for another request to finish. I'm looking and I'm not just see.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Chris

    Chris,

On the application server, edit this file:

    \reports\conf\.conf

In this folder, find: engine id = "rwEng" and change the value of maxEngine from 1 to 4

Save the file and restart the report server.

    I hope this helps.
